For me, non-alcoholic beer cleared my ears.

For at least a year, I was having weird ear issues where I would get flaky skin building up and coming out of it. it was obnoxious as shit. At first I thought it was ear dryness, so I was using mineral oil, stopped soap in my hair hope that would help. It got worse. started using soap again, it got better but sine-waved between bad and not so bad. Then I started eating filmjolk, but kept slipping in trying to eat it daily. So after some time, I figured "Go for non-alcoholic beer- you can drink more than one a day and not have to worry about social guilt,". My ears are clear now, so it must be the yeast or some missing nutrient in the beer that helped clear out my ear problems.

Coconut Oil Thread

Fasting, we've all heard about it, it supposedly works by naturally increasing ketone body production by limiting insulin, but apparently Coconut oil, because it's made of medium chain triglycerides, gets broken down into Ketones immediately, so I feel pretty confident recommending it as a replacement for any butter or oil you might still be ingesting, though I doubt it's total potency, so I made this thread to remind myself to post later on the long term effects of oil if there's any.

Its very important to understand just how fewer calories the average body needs than what most people think. The body doesn't need anywhere near close as many calories as you probably consume. Really, its arguable that we even need 2000, let a lone 2500-3700 calories typical for most fast food meals. Food is a fuel for the body's metabolism. When we live to eat instead of eating to live, it becomes just as self-destructive as a any other substance abuse. Granted, if you're lifting and doing various other exercises, you will require more food to fuel yourself with; but know just how much you really need and don't over-do it.

I want to look more like this person. At the moment I am much larger and need to get skinny. I already diet and I keep myself to a strict maximum of 1500 calories a day. One of the faces of the carnivore diet is a doctor who lost his license, and so many nutritionists recommend against these diets. I'm pretty sure those who experienced "feeling great" from these diets are a result of placebo. From going into keto myself I always felt like shit and I always dryfasted for 3 days straight instead to lose weight. Losing 30lbs tips

I gained some weight in the last 4 years (6ft, 205lbs, 24yo). I look bulky to fat, i have friends my height 30lbs lighter looking really fat and unhealthy in comparison. I do think the weight is surpressing my energy levels.

Steroids questions

How much of Elite strength is due to Steroids or genetics. Like say if steroids were not invented do you think it would still be the same guys at Worlds Strongest Man or the same guys in powerlifting? Part of me thinks its a bit of both, make no mistake everyone on that level is roiding but I reckon that the amount each person does depends on their genetic baseline, those that are not as genetically gifted roid more. Another factor we might consider is the physical repsonse someone has for roids. If we compared two natties 1. one with a better genetic limit than the other but 2. has a better repsonse to steroids. Put them on the same stuff the one with the better steroid response would be stronger than 1. even though 1. was a better natty, theoretically. Also in general it seems like roids really benefit taller lankier people. Guys like Brian Shaw and Halfthor were skinny dyel ectomorph basketball players I doubt they would have put on very much muscle without roids. What do you guys think maybe I'm just too autistic thinking about this.

Seeking perspectives on when suicide is a moral/immoral decision

I am a 25 year old male with severe and crippling Crohn's disease. Simply put, my digestive system is in complete disorder, and fails to function even close to properly. The technical side of what's happening is my immune system is overreacting to the gut microbiome, and attacking it, causing severe and consistent inflammation across my colon. The consequence of this is severe abdominal pain daily, unless I have been fasting for between 24-72 hours. Once I get well into a fast, my symptoms transition from unbearable to uncomfortable.

The closest thing I have to clarity on my condition is that I have a genetic susceptibility to sensitive digestion, and living in America, and eating our fake food for a quarter century has essentially broke my gut, with a very miniscule chance of reversal of the condition (Western medicine declares Crohn's treatable, but not curable).

About 8 months into my severe symptoms, I did a complete scan of my system with a double colonoscopy and a dyed CAT scan in an attempt to give me some insight on possible solutions. I discovered that a large portion of my colon is scar tissue. The scar tissue clogs up the passages of the intestine, such that digestion is stalled, and oftentimes insoluble fiber can get stuck, stopping digestion dead in its tracks, and causing severe pain.

Then work my way down to 15 lbs increase 1 rep everytime

Then starting again at 45 I do 50 wrist curls with same process work my way down increasing a rep everytime down to 15lbs

Then i do one arm dumbell chest press with the 45lbs at 21 reps same process work my way down increase 1 rep everytime to 15lbs

Daily I have increased the number of reps to push myself until I am ready for bigger weights. I just want to make sure this is a viable routine and that it will help me make progress

My Mother is Dying

Hey /fit/ my mother has stage 4 chronic kidney disease with a GFR of 19, and it’s slowly getting worse. This is from a misdiagnosis by her previous doctor who put her on pre diabetes medicine which destroyed her kidneys. She wasn’t close to being diabetic. Currently she’s right on the border of being put on dialysis & the transplant list. Her GFR needs to be at 15 for that.

I’ve been thinking that maybe BPC-157 (sub Q & oral), TB500, HGH, and female HRT, as she is post menopausal, may help to stop her kidney degradation, or even start to reverse it. Would these compounds be beneficial at all in helping her regain kidney function? From what I’ve researched so far and in my unprofessional opinion these compounds at worst will do nothing and not harm the kidneys and at best may increase her GFR.

Also, is there anything similar that would help her regain kidney function?

I’m not expecting a miracle but hopeful that her kidneys will heal some. Her doctor right now pretty much refuses to write her a prescription for anything, and told her she’s fucked as there’s nothing to be done in her opinion. I’m taking it upon myself to do what I can to try to help.

Lastly, I’m not asking for your sympathy nor do I want it.

Potential double post but I've reloaded the page 5 times and the thread still doesn't show. I don't know what to say except fix your fucking site Jim. Recently I've been trying to sleep at an optimal but unusual time but have found that my body has started to rebel and at best wakes me up halfway or at worst forces me awake with 5 or 4 hours of sleep. This brings my heart great pain to know my body doesn't want to cooperate even after being awake 30 hours straight to force it to be able to peacefully sleep at that time, but an even greater physical pain because I'm still growing and it keeps working against me. It just doesn't want to sleep at that time but I can't cooperate with it, I have to sleep at that time. I'm thinking of just using pharmaceutical pills to force myaelf out for 8 hours but before I do I'd obviously like any natural, safer alternatives. So my results just came back positive. Hey /fit/ what are some meals, recipes and other resources you got to make and dehydrate with minimal effort? I'm not even trying to do /k/ or /out/ stuff (that would be fun though), I just want some good shit I can just be lazy as fuck about, and /ck/ is dead as shit.

CICO vs. Slim, Gluttonous Eaters

On one hand, I'm willing to believe in CICO.

On the other hand, I vaguely recall the guy on the BuffDudes YouTube Channel claiming he had to eat 10,000kcal every day before he could finally gain weight because he had a high metabolism.

Meanwhile, I also remember an anon admitting that initially, he believed himself to have a high metabolism since he too could seemingly eat a lot of food without gaining weight but what was really happening was that he had an irregular daily calorie intake such that on some days, he'd eat around 2500 calories and on other days, he'd eat as little as 500 and so when you look at his weekly calorie intake, he's actually undereating.

What's the truth regarding this situation? Is weight loss and weight gain as simple as CICO suggests or is there truly something more to it such that some people do in fact have a high metabolism?

PSA: While I am indeed morbidly obese, I wish to say that if there is such a thing as a high metabolism, it doesn't affect my willingness to change my weight. Something like how hard I have to struggle relative to others to get what I want just isn't something I'm concerned about. Not with regards to this. This will determine how confident I am when I present myself to others and so for this, I'm much more open to paying a higher price, if I must. I know I'll be happier being slim, regardless of how strict I have to be with my dieting and exercising in order to get there and stay there so you won't hear complaining from me.

If I were to bring attention to this difference in my suffering relative to others, it would be to encourage others with similarly unideal genetics that the desired result is still attainable.

How to Grow a Cock like Chad

There are two methods

A.) the safest and more proven way to have a longer banana is mirco-tearing. There is something special about their looks. They put in a lot of effort into fitness, and their faces are flawless. They are a rare type of attractive. Anyone use PCP as pre-workout? I've been doing it the last month and have felt incredible gains, the only issue is there are some days where I feel as if my body is broken, even more so then a usual soreness. It completely numbs any sort of soreness and it becomes incredibly light, the problem is sometimes the next day I hurt all over, I believe I go beyond my natural limitations using the substance. I've also tried meth and modafinil as pre-workout, the meth is too strenuous on the heart but is great. Doctors can't help with my urinary problems

I've been pissing like an 80 year old man with prostate cancer for over a decade and no doctor has ever been able to figure out why. It's impossible to empty my bladder completely and I have to pee like 20 times a day or more.

I know for a fact that there's no blockage because a doctor stuck a scope down my dick and into my bladder and said everything was normal. After that he threw every drug under the sun at me, including Cialis, and none of them worked. Then he said the next thing we could "try" was implanting some crazy electronic device inside of my body that was so large you might be able to see it through my skin.

Anyone here looked in to weighted clothing at all? Vests, gloves, ankle weights, shit like that? I'm digging the idea of just walking around doing my daily life and making gains that way in addition to everything else.

So far the heaviest weighted vest I've found easily available online was 150 lbs but was nearly 500 dollars, seems excessive for what it is, found another that maxed out at 140 pounds and goes for around 250, so I'm wondering if anyone has looked in to this and has any suggestions, info, or anything of the like on this topic.

starting out w/ dumbbells

just recently I started lifting in my home to try and do something productive for a change. the only equipment I have right now is a pretty decent set of dumbbells and a bench.

I formed up some loose and highly unorganized routine which I stuck to for around 2 weeks before i wanted to make something better. I have around no experience with making routines whatsoever so I just strung in a bunch of random workouts for muscle groups on certain days. I stuck with the new routine for around 2 weeks until I realized how fucking retarded it was, for example I had an arm day with 4 workouts for my biceps and 3 for my triceps, and for each exercise I did 3 sets and sometimes added an extra set if I felt I didn't do enough. I did not have any specific rep count either so I went off a generalization of getting somewhere in the range of 6 - 12, but my main goal for every set was to reach failure. I had 4 workout days per week in my routine and each day took me about 2 hours to complete. as for any progress I did not really notice many changes, however I feel like my traps did get slightly bigger and my arms possible got very slightly bigger as well. at the very least I did get better at proper form in workouts.

right now I am looking for a dumbbell only routine to stick to and I haven't found much. Its been around 4 days since ive worked out and im asking for any worthwhile help or advice, especially a routine since im absolute dog shit at making them myself

Is it unhealthy not to eat carbs?

I'm a fat man losing weight by alternating between weightlifting and cardio. I've already lost 5 kg and gained a bit of muscle, so it's all working.

My diet is 180g of protein and 30g of fat (+1 multivitamin). Protein makes me feel full and it's actually difficult to eat enough of it. I haven't been eating any carbs, which the bodybuilding forums disapprove of for no clear reasons. The only argument I've found is that it lowers my metabolism. I'm not going hungry, nor am I missing energy for my workout/day. If I have to eat some I'll go for oatmeal, but I don't want to, so I'll only do it if it's necessary.

Is it actually unhealthy not to eat carbs in my case? Is it actually counterproductive to my fat loss efforts?

Hello anons. Ive been thinking about how injuries from exercise happen, i think the 2 main ways to get them are:

1. trying to increase the difficulty/weight too quickly

2. using gym mashines that force you to move in a "locked range of motion" (look it up)

I really dont want to get injured, so to solve these problems ill probably:

1. increase the weight/difficulty of the exercise that i am doing when i can do 30 repetitions of it (instead of 12 repetitions). this gives my body time to adjust to the new higher weight.

I realized something. WORKING OUT IS PROPORTIONAL TO SURFACE AREA AND VOLUME. It is well known that surface area is proportionally a square whereas volume is cubic. This means as an object becomes bigger, the volume is more and more disproportionately large compared to the surface area. This creates problems for transfer in and out of the cell membrane, as well as larger objects as well, such as the entire human body.

If you want to be able to work out, you must make yourself efficient. Doing so means becoming lean, low bodyfat, and emphasizing cardiovascular output. This will allow you to exercise more often and become healthier. Not only will your body be under less stress due to weight and blood pressure issues, but you will be cooler in high, humid, hot temperatures.

It was 95 degrees today and I went on a run, while wearing full sweatpants and long sleeve shirt to fight off the sun (cancer) and I still felt cool and refreshed. Hydration is also important. After my 2 hour run I drank 8 cups of water immediately.

I've been on a journey to get a body that won't disgust me whenever I glance over a mirror, for at least 2 years or more.

I have gotten to the point where I can do the traditional lifts properly without any problems whatsoever, the thing is this, I have not improved my physique nor my strenght by much. I have lost weight, at least 10 kilos, but that was in the first year of my journey.

Now I am starting to believe that I will not get out of skinny-fat hell without a golden diet. The problem is that I can't get much money nor much food due to the shitfest that is the currency of my country.

Inhumane amounts of sweat

So i've been working out for almost a year and been taking it seriously for 3 months now.

I'm not overweight (178cm, 78kg) and although I get winded rather quick, i'm not terribly out of shape (still working on that).

Here's the problem:

Everytime I work out I am simply soaked in sweat. To a degree where I'm literally dripping.

Even riding my bike for 10 minutes has this effect. I'm not out of breath, but I'm fucking soaked.

This applies to normal life as well. I can walk in the snow barefoot, but a bit of sun makes me sweat uncontrollably.

What the fuck. I live in northern Germany and I don't want to change my shirt 3 times a day in the summer.

I need your help /fit/, I don't know what to do.

In short I used to be fat (125 kg, 183 cm) but trough diet and lifting got to 88 kg when I was 19 yr but after many years in college and shitty life decisions I'm at 124 kg again (lost 3 kg in the last month).

Right now I'm taking control of every calorie I put in my body and start swimming 5 day/wk again (used to participate in open water).

The thing is that now I cannot take lifting as before since I got a nasty spinal injury that prevents me to put any axial overload (goodbye my PR of 3plate squats) and I have never used dumbbells in a systemically approach.

Needless to say I have my own home gym (olympic gear, rack and a bench made out of 4x4's) and some dumbbells (pair of 5kg, 10kg) and those that you can put more discs into it (4 discs of 5 kg, 8 discs of 2.5 kg & 6 discs of 1.25 kg). I've keep myself away from the olympic stuff since I don't want to fuck up my back even more.

Is there anything I can do to at least attain some basic upper body mass with that set of dumbbells? and if so then how do you go around to make a routine with it?

I mean, olympic movements were simple but I've no idea where to start with the dumbbells. I tried to search some routines focused with dumbbells but all that I could find required other equipment or was oriented to soccer moms or dyels.

Working out While at Work?

Currently I tend to have a lot of free time from 9am to 10:30am where I'm not doing much and usually just on the internet, I'd like to use this time to exercise since I get home kinda late. I've just been doing push ups and situp's for the past 2 days but those get pretty repetitive and I'm pretty sure they don't do much unless you do like 200 of each. (I haven't brought any equipment yet).

- I can't leave and I need to be able to drop everything at a moments notice in case I need to answer the phone or do other stuff.

-And large equipment would probably get annoying and look unsightly, I'm thinking dumbells are the biggest thing I should use since theres a good spot I can put them.

what would be a good routine to work around this? I'm used to having access to my roommates benchpress and full body workout machine so I've never really cared much for routine. But a lack of equipment makes me think its more important. I've got a lot of money right now so expensive equipment isn't a problem. We also have a shower which is nice even though it looks like a gas chamber.

Protein powder

I heard protein powder is estrogenic. Apparently it contains BPA and often soy (and a lot of other shit). Is this true or is it an exaggeration? And if it is true, does it contain significantly more BPA and/of soy than normal food (cookies, cereal, processed food,…)?

I read in the sticky that you have to eat 1 gram of protein per pound in body weight (or 2 grams per kg in body weight). So if you weigh 70 kg, you should have to eat 140g of protein per day.

Isn't that almost impossible if you eat normal portions

Combining workouts

Hello fitfags. I'm a newfag here. I don't have much fat on me. My goal is to burn the most and start building muscles with bodyweight workout. Can I combine these workout or do I need to burn the fat first only and then try to build muscles?

I though starting the the cardio workout from the Harsh's Worksheet (WIP) combined with a caloric deficit in a diet and on the rest days of the week do a beginner callisthenics workout. Is it a good idea or Im gonna end up doing more harm than good to me. As you can say Im a complete newbie to this board.

Trying to get back in shape after I was stabbed twice

I’m just under 6’, and I weigh 240ish pounds. A lot is muscle but I wouldn’t mind losing some more of the fat.

I was stabbed twice in the back and nicked in the lung (makes cardio hard[er]). I ended up needing a long time of physical rehabilitation and couldn’t keep in shape. Not only that, when I was ready to start again my jaw was broken on both sides later on and for two months I could only have a liquid diet. I lost fat and muscle on that liquid diet.

A few years ago I had a fire lit under my ass and decided to Get Better At Life. I started down the road of lifting, eating better, getting smarter, and improving my living environment/reducing clutter/being less materialistic. There's shit tons of infographics for lifting, eating, and more reading lists than you could consume in a lifetime. I could not, however, find a useful method for sorting my room/house/desk/clothes out. "Cleaning" was often no more than vacuuming and shifting junk from one area to another. I struggled with this aspect because my approach felt like this:

I never improved this aspect of my life much because I couldn't figure out how to get to the finish line - we've all seen pictures of great places to live but the gulf between reality and that endpoint was a tough nut to crack.

Ironically I found the answer I was looking for in a buddy's messy desk - a small book titled: _Spark Joy: The life-changing magic of tidying up_. It's a straightforward system that has two actions:

Meniscus Tear

So, apparently I have a torn meniscus in one of my knees, went to the doc, did an MRI, doctor prescribed rest and medication for a month, month is almost over.

I supposed to start swimming anyway but I really wanted to lift again. But with my current knee state ass to grass squats are not really ideal (since my knee flares up specifically when I bend it below parallel, before rest and medication it would flare up while doing a bodyweight squat).

Tooth Loss and Jaw Deterioration

Very soon, by bottom teeth will need to be extracted, and I will be forces to wear a denture. I'm only 25. Poor hygiene and zero self care has resulted this. Hello. I'm posting here because I don't what else to fucking do.

I've been doing intermittent fasting for about 2 months now. My daily meal contained a meat (chicken breasts or ground beef) fried in coconut oil, two vegetables/fruits (usually an onion with the meat and an orange) and one lean grain (I don't know if that's the right term. I've been eating rice for a long time, but now I've replaced it with oats). I avoid milk, sugar and carbs (everytime I eat one of those I fart a lot or get a shit ton of acne).

I've done about 5 waterfasts in my life before that. The shortest was one day long and the longest was 8 days long. I didn't lose weight (maybe I did, but I still looked fat as fuck and that's the only thing I care about).

I've been doing intense (I think) ab exercises every single day and I also usually lift (but now I've sprained my wrist so I won't lift for a while) and do squats, but none of it shows because I'm fat (althought I can kind of see some muscle throught the fat).

I've been fat my entire life, and now I have the average skinnyfat, pear-shaped body. I don't think I'm skinnyfat because I work out. I think I'm just fat.

I also walk about 6 kilometres every day if that accounts for anything.

What the fuck do I do?

months, im fed up. im not planning on doing any marathons any

Alright /fit/ so I have been hitting the Gym lately as a step up from working out at home for a few months (started hitting it last week) and I am completely wrecked after working all round over five days (only like an hour session a day, with one day a week off is my plan).

My friend did say I'd be wrecked but I am not recovering as fast as I thought I would. Mainly its my shoulders, triceps and chest that are pretty bad. Weird question

I'm the type of guy who likes to cleanse out his past before moving on to have a sense of closure, so I began taking a shit every morning and only the morning for a new day, I'd hold it in however long I'd need to then shit the next day fairly quick within the time frame of an hour or so.

Now, the problem is these days I need to eat something first and wait up to 3 hours to finally get it all out. It steals a lot of time and I'm sick of it.

So to put it bluntly how do I make myself shit every morning. I need to brutal expunge out my intestines fully before I start the day and do it quickly, I can't stress enough how important this is.

Are there any natural laxatives? The only one's that work are fast food but I can't buy fast food every day besides, it's unhealthy. Is it worth taking the risk and trying out non natural one's that can have side effects?

Fat fuck here, a little background on me

I was always chubby as a kid but didn't get to obese level fat, fast forward to 10th grade after which I attented a military-esuqe short summer camp where I lost around 10 kgs and got really lean this was in 2014 in 2 years I gained some weight and got to about 100 kgs (my height is 6'2/1.88) but after 2015 I went into a deep depression due to some problems at home and in academics which led me to eat like a pig from 2016-2017 and gained 30 kgs I went up to 130 and then lost 15 kgs since then but have been eating junk recently again

So my question is: I think I might've fucked up my pancreas and heart from all this, I'm gonna get a check up and see if I'm pre diabetic or not and if I have high cholesterol

Can someone who's prediabetic and has high cholesterol/Arthroslecrsis gain strength through training as much as someone who is perfectly healthy?

Are there any resources for people in such a predicament,also any anons here who went from being obese to muscular and strong,mind you I have never seriously trained

I have a Weiider machine from baaaaack in the day that I used to use. But then I nearly killed a nigger and went to prison instead of university. Long story but it was a must. In prison there were no weights or anything really so I just did pushups and this and that using my own body weight (forgot the name for that) pretty much so I wouldn't become sick.

Can I make gains with this thing? I'm seeking good health not any great appearance. Or do I need free weights? If so, what should I buy? I was thinking I'd like a chin up bar.
