No you didn't. You had a very successful military expansion after the two main powers in the region (Rome and Persia) were weakened from extended warfare and then piggybacked off all the other people you conquered. Most Arabs were still in the desert or burning libraries. The actual achievements were done by the people that were conquered and were within the umma. Persians, Assyrians, Copts, North Africans, Visigoths etc…. Arabic numerals for example come from India. Most of the world that claims to be "Arab" nowadays actually isn't, they are just Islamic (which is associated with Arabs) but are genetically not.
Various Islamic powers were quite successful beyond these early conquests and Caliphates based on constant violence and expansion of a bunch of people more motivated by loot than anything noble but they weren't Arab, they were Egyptian, Turkish, Kurdish, Persian etc… The last time the Arabs had a significant military victory against the Europeans for example was during the Crusades, almost 1000 years ago. The Persians and Ottomans basically took over everything and you went back to being lizard-eating desert raiders.
The only reason people think of the Arabs at all is because the ethnic component to Islam which causes people in Egypt/Syria/Iraq etc… to identify as Arab but they mostly aren't, and even those places have been under Turkish, Persian, British or French control for centuries and now the US dicks with everyone there because of Israel while Iran worms its way back in.
If it wasn't for the oil under Arabia you would be just desert fighting and slaving each other as is your natural state.
