Do you honestly expect people to take you seriously if you won't even examine things without casting aspersions like this? Pedophiles represent a small, but real portion of human populations, about 3% to 5%, meaning there are 250 to 400 million of them on earth. They are human, and even at 3% to 5% they deserve a voice.
Not all form of sexual contact with young people is inherently abusve.
Research in this field is difficult because nobody likes to talk about it. It's so shrouded in secrecy that everyone just stays quiet. Why? It's because the current laws no longer represent the ways in which people actually live their lives. Considering everything that is coming out now about the Epstein files, there is every indication that the wealthy and powerful have been lying to the general public, intentionally overblowing the risks, digging into people's fear and religious panic, in order for them to keep it all for themselves while the general public blamed pedophiles rather than these upstanding pillars of the community.
Let me ask you: Does it make sense that for the first 17 years, 364 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds of a person's life, they should be considered FUNDAMENTALLY INCAPABLE of giving consent to an adult for ANY sexual act, no matter how innocuous, then one second later be ENTHUSIASTICALLY EMPOWERED to give consent for EVERY sexual act, no matter how extreme?
Because that's how we currently do things...
