Welcome to /tingles/, the laid back ASMR board.
Since we're back to life, I wanted to make a thread to discuss the board it's self and for anons to provide any suggestions or requests. I've changed the board color theme to something darker which seems more fitting for ASMR. Let me know your thoughts. Am also looking for a good board subtitle and perhaps some new banners.
As far as rules; this board is meant to be laid back as noted above. Aside from 8chan's global rule the only things to add are:
1. Discussion about all ASMR channels is allowed here.
2. Harassment (threats of actual harm, trying to maliciously/falsely shut down social accounts, contact for the sake of bullying, irl stalking, dox of private personal information) is not allowed.
3. No spam.
Besides that /tingles/ is a free place. I'd like it to be less cancerous than the alternative, but post as you please. You will be judged by fellow anons.

I'm a lurker from the old asmr board. Youtube is a dying platform. It used to be a good place for shitposters to share their original content, but then it became too corporate. Every Youtuber wanted to be the next Pewds, and everyone started uploading clickbait. Including ASMRtists. Censorship didn't help either.

The biggest thing I hate about Youtube is that nobody uploads anything for fun now. Nobody just makes videos because they want to, EVERYONE is trying to make money off of it and quit their day job. As a result, it's all the same shit of everyone within the same genre chasing trends trying to be the one to appeal to the biggest common denominator possible.
There are some creators who still post what they want, but they've all been around since before the days of big ad money. I can't think of any creators post-2014 that aren't making videos specifically to make money.

The ASMR community was a lot more self contained back in the day and people were pretty much accepting of anything. Hungry Lips was the first time I can remember people making a fuss and eventually everyone stopped complaining and moved on. After that is when channels like Gibi realised they could do anything they wanted and started spamming sponsers in every video.

I used to lurk the hate dungeon in the good old days. I barely watched asmr videos, but it was fun laughing at whores licking microphones and that was good enough for me. When 8chan went down I couldn't find where everyone had gone to and I ended up just forgetting about it.
