I got a shitload to do as BO, don't want to focus mostly on baker squabbles.

But seems to be that case that the signed in e-baker doesn't want to note, so another baker who's not signed in feels justified in stealing the bake - and got his baker locked by BV.

Have i got that right?

Here's what i'd say so far:

- When bakers are signed in, they are signed in. That matters.

- Some bakers like to notable, others do not. One reason is long bread with many notables, a situation we are trying remedy - see >>15449227

- It is MUCH BETTER for bakers to notable - that is (or should be) the NORM, not the exception.

If there is a baker who will notable, it would be better is the baker who cannot or will not notable to HANDOFF to baker who WILL.

For obvious reasons: it is BEST for the BOARD.

AS BO, WOULD STRONGLY ENCOURAGE THIS COURSE OF ACTION.

Could become a policy, but needs discussion - in META thread.

RIGHT NOW, by tradition, signed in baker has authority.

if e-baker will not take notes, wny doesn't the baker who WILL notable simply volunteer to take notes? He may not like that, but it would be helpful.

Progress Report on Recent Updates

QR Past

QR has been in the hands of FastJack for almost 3 years.

At best, his leadership was benignly neglectful.

At worst, it has been diametrically opposed to the goals and values espoused by Q.

When OSS arrived after refplatformig, the two joined forces to kill the kitchen, which almost destroyed the QR board.

ALMOST- but not quite.

Because against all odds, anons refused to let this board die.

Despite the chaos, the bans, the attacks, and the incredibly crappy doughs, they carried on.

AND STILL CARRY ON.

Eventually, the level of incompetance became unsustainable -

FJ plain forget to check into the board for almost 3 weeks, all the BVs except OSS left, and all OSS did was ban anons on a whim.

That is how they lost "their" board.

QR Now

News admin has been in place for 12 days.

Had to scramble at first, because this situation was not anticipated.

But here is what has been done so far -

* all bans made for no reason for the last 17 weeks have been lifted by 8kun admin

* a board is being set up that will allow anons to request ban lists for earlier dates

* the same board has a thread for bug fixes and other technical issues noticed by anons

* the catalog has been cleaned and updated; BVs monitor daily

* staff is monitoring bakes to help alert bakers to wrong breads numbers or split bakes

* staff locks breads in favor of signed in baker, unless it is OSS

* Staff has banned OSS from baking and made his notes subject to editing by anons/bakers

* New threads are under development for newfags, new bakers, and diggers doing research

* Working on an in-house pastebin/control C that is powerfull, secure and easy o uuse.

* Anons alerted to heavy CP presence and asked to actively look for it and make global reports

QR Goals

Overall: to create a board that "neat and tidy" for Q

Whether or not Q returns to post, the board should be a place that supports the honors the work)

* Promote greater anon awareness and responsibility

* Support bakers and build a good working relationship with them

* Work with agreegators like Qresear.ch so we know how to "feed" their sutsl

* Ensure that CP is detected early and cleaned up right away

* Develop policies (like content policies) that allow for the great possible freedom of expression but that also make is harder for for shills to attack w/impunity

* ( what have i left out?)

Four major roles for admins:

1- keep board/breads neat and tidy

2 - provide resources or links to support the work

3 - to develops policies and rules of thumb that support out work

4 - to help anons to be more aware of what goes on here (situational awarenss)

Proposal to allow Auto-convert function to convert /HIVEMIND/ to /HM/ >>> Dead link

/HIVEMIND/ advertises itself in both posts and thru listing its bloated "notables" on QResearch.

This is unethical and unwanted by most anons.

Staffers have made the following two proposals involving the auto-convert function in board settings, which allows the word typed in to be auto-converted to another word.

Proposal #1: that "/HIVEMIND/" be auto-converted to "/HM/" , so that links to that board would be DEAD.

Proposal #2: that "OSS" be auto-converted to "No-Name" - anons will understand the implication.

BO frankly has reservations about using a board setting to activate such a function because anons have no way of turning it off. It is unavoidably universal.

On the other hand, re Proposal #1, it would definitely crimp the style of HIVEMIND to have their links disabled - which that board richly deserves.

Not sure about the effects of Proposal #2, would like to hear what anons think.

A SHORT SUMMARY OF BOARD RESTORATION CHANGES

When new admins took over on Jan 12, this board was in bad shape due mainly to negligence by BO FastJack and abuses by BV OSS. Changes were made to clean it up. To newer anons, they may have looked entirely new. But most are not new – they were made to restore the board to a working condition.

Current Situation & Summary of Restorations

QR META – Meta board was restored as a place where bakers and anons could talk about board matters, both with each other and with BO. BO monitors the board regularly, at least once every 24 hours.

DOUGH - A new 2-page dough was created in Oct but not used by all bakers. Bakers cooperated to make a uniform dough; material on pages 3-4 was put into Dough Resources thread and linked to OP page in dough.

COMMS WITH 8KUN ADMIN – Old /tech/ thread redone to have two threads where anons could (a) request the restoration of old banned IPs and (b) turn in bug reports and feature requests

CATALOG CLEANUP – Catalog was cleaned up, pinned threads revised, and monitoring begun to prevent posts from pedo bear CP shill.

RESOURCE THREADS – New resource threads have been added to the Catalog – Notable Videos, Q Graphics, How to Bake, Dough Resources, and others.

BAN­NER – Banner problems came to a head w/posting of Papi on banner, so after discussion, there was an effort to find one or more banners upon which anons could agree. Result: a little of criteria for bakers developing variants on basic Iwo Jima image.

GLOBALS – Globals for announcements of interest to all anons were added back to the dough.

BAKING PROTOCOLS – this includes handoff protocols and formatting for notables on second page of dough, to ensure that scrapers can scrape easily due to consistent format.

NOTABLES CONTENT – Bakers were asked to exclude board matters from notables (just put in Globals).

BOARD RESTORATION CHANGES WITH SOME HISTORY

Feb. 23, 2022

The History

In July 2019, BO FastJack seized the board and gave bakers a new dough. Notables were to be by anons and not in the bread (special thread instead). Last two pages were radically reduced with no thread replacement. A coupla days later, all the bakers were fired. New bakers created muh joos bread titles. Anons protested to BO and then to Q – who said "revert" a week from the seizure ("why change a good thing?").

Within a half a day, the original dough was restored. Nothing was lost because the time frame was short.

Later, there was another 'coup' involving baker OSS.

In Fall 2020, OSS gained enough influence with FastJack to beginning an erosion of QR that lasted about 20x as long. Anons protested again to Q, who asked for admins to "clean up the ship." FJ hired some additional BVs. But nothing changed for the better. Over 15 months, two things happened:

1 - OSS made Globals and Notables a place to attack his 'enemies'

2 - OSS continued to gain influence, and consistently created the kind of chaos that enabled changes that we neither directed by admins nor discussed by anons – banner changes, dough changes, ban policy changes. Once he became BV, he started banning anons right and left literally "for no reason," making board access itself difficult due to the disappearance of working VPN IP's. By Jan 2022, he was the ONLY administrator active on QR.

Current Situation & Summary of Restorations

On Jan 12, FJ lost the board because he didn't bother to check in for three weeks.

This time, the task of restoration was more daunting because so much time had passed.

The task was to figure out what needed to be left alone, what needed to be completely restored as before, and what needed to be updated or partially updated. Also, what process to use – some changes were made by admins alone (restoring comms with 8kun admin), some with collaboration with bakers (dough format), and some with anon participation (banner discussion/contest).

QR META – Meta board had fallen into disuse, was restored as a place where bakers and anons could talk about board matters, both with each other and with BO. BO monitors the board regularly, at least once every 24 hours.

DOUGH - A new dough had been used by some bakers since Oct but not all. So the first task was to talk to bakers about creating a uniform dough. That's how we got the two-page dough with all the info originally on pgs 3-4 condensed to links on OP page 1. Bakers cooperated to make it so.

COMMS WITH 8KUN ADMIN – New admins worked with 8kun admin to restore the /tech/ so anons to do two things:

1 – request the restoration of old banned IPs

2 – turn in bug reports and feature requests

As a result, if admins need to ban bad actors (mainly OSS), anons have resource if they see their IP included in that ban.

CATALOG CLEANUP – The catalog was not really monitored at this point. Pinned threads were OSS' favorites, anons immediately began requesting changes – which were presented before they were made. At this point, the catalog is monitored. We had a problem with CP "pedo bear" from appearing in side threads and so asked those responsible for these threads to check them once a day.

RESOURCE THREADS – New resource threads have been added to the Catalog – Notable Videos, Q Graphics, How to Bake, Dough Resources, and others.

BAN­NER – QR originally had a single banner for Generals that was accepted by all. After conditions on QR deteriorated in Oct 2020, a couple of bakers said "no more 'Q_anon' on the banner." It soon became whatever baker decided it would be. When Papi appeared on a recent banner, controversy exploded. Admins discussed the situation on the board and from it, developed criteria designed to create banner options that captured the spirit of the original banner but still allowed anons to create variants.

GLOBALS – Until OSS took over, this is where admins and bakers made announcements of interest to the entire board. He used it instead to trash anons he didn't like (which he also did in Notables). Looks like bakers got rid of it as a result. Restored to its original purpose in Jan 2020.

BAKING PROTOCOLS – this includes handoff protocols and formatting for notables on second page of dough. Baking protocols had slipped, resulting in much confusion and too many e-bakes. The format on Notable Bun page 2 was almost all over the place, making it hard for aggregators (including Qresear.ch) to scrape notables. A Global appeared with traditional baking protocols, so that newer bakers would know how they worked; another detailed ways to format notable buns in a consistent way, so scrapers can scrape.

NOTABLES CONTENT – Notables were ALWAYS for news and other reports external to board matters and everyone knew it – until OSS. He laced Notables with posts reflecting his personal likes and dislikes – hit pieces on his 'enemies', muh joos stuff like the Zion Protocols, and other junk. Some newer bakers followed suit. Hence, the recent admin Global saying this is not appropriate.

METHOD:

Examined the language in posts of 12 TYB posts from each of the last two breads (#19880 and #19881).

RESULTS:

- there was ZERO abusive language from any of the TYB posters. Sadly not living up to chan quota.

- there were no shills - just anons.

- most were diggers, with a few shitposters, and a couple of bakers.

CONCLUSION:

TYB posters are just anons who support the board and the bakers.

Deletions & Bans on QR

On Feb 15, I sent this out to all BVs for QR -

Bans are for 3 to 7 days for spam, make sure to specify or else they are forever. [can be for less time but not more.]

On Mar 6, after a bread was accidentally deleted, sent another email out encouraging BVs to be careful about deleting spam to avoid future problems.

This morning, sent BVs a reminder of these policies. Along with this -

USE PERMABANS ONLY FOR ILLEGAL CONTENT - NEVER FOR SPAM OR "JUST BECAUSE".

It is CRITICAL that we have a consistent and conservative policy regarding BANS and that all of us follow it.

IDEAS for better notetaking & baking

- In the past, anons usually practiced baking and notetaking on /comms/ board. When they were ready, they came on the board and signed in as baker. Bakers did both notes and bakes.

- Sometimes bakers worked with notetakers, but usually, each knew the other's routine. So it was clear who was doing what. Both signed in and coordinated at the start of bread.

- Now we have longer breads and more notes. So having notetakers is a good thing. But a little coordination would eliminate DUP notes and other problems.

SUGGESTIONS

- GENERALLY: If a new baker comes on the board, takes a handoff and then sees notes that are not his, it's confusing.

This is why it's better for anons to post notes just when

(a) bread is GHOSTED (hopefully with a signin and tag to DOUGH before posting)

(b) BAKER requests a notetaker OR NOTETAKER asks baker if he would like a noter and baker agrees.

- If a baker picks up a GHOSTED bread where there is a notetaker (which he'll see by checking the DOUGH, right?), it's a courtesy for baker to check in with notetaker and let him know whether he would like notetaker to continue or whether he wants to note the bread from now on.

Anons APPRECIATE both bakers and noters. But better comms would eliminate confusion.

Re notetaker notes during a GHOSTED bread

When a notetaker steps up to note, he takes responsibility until a baker arrives. If he posts notes and no anon asks for additions or changes, then those notes stand unless a baker assumes the bake and makes changes before the end of bake. In the case of incomplete notes by an inexperienced notetaker, there might be an exception. But generally speaking, it's up to the anons on each bread to take responsibility for giving feedback before a bread is baked.

Good discussion, because of the questions it raises.

First, seems like the practical thing is to contact the site owner using contact details on the site and see what he says. If useful changes are made, could be posted as a notable, possibly a Global, although it's off-site info although of interest to many anons. If you want it globaled, ask in Meta (or now - Meta DISCUSSION) - easiest way.

Broader issue:

Who puts stuff in notables now?

Once upon a time, bakers put in 90% of what's in globals, including noticed from admins. But that's when there was an actual kitchen - bakers involved on a regular or semiregular basis. If anons or bakers suggested a global in a post, it would be discussed in the thread - with bakers and oldfags chiming in. Bakers would try to let other off duty bakers know, so globals wouldn't get removed by later bakers wondering where they came from. There were at times efforts made to have a thread where dough changes like that could be recorded to avoid miscommunications.

In late 2020, the kitchen basically dissolved. Entire comms system broke down, Globals became politicized and at some point, were no longer in the dough. But since they serve a purpose, are now back on top for in house notices.

ATM, admins are the ones who mainly decide on Globals. If we can build the kitchen back, that would help, because bakers who are here all the time know the score. Admins, bakers and anons working together - that would be best.

To be picked up in qresear.ch (etc), each bread needs a unique number.

Also needs a bread number top and bottom plus a SPACE before and after.

Use a and b versions when the notes are too long to fit in one post.

Typical situation:

- Baker collects notes, they are getting pretty long early in the bread.

- If they look too long to fit in one post by 500 or so, baker may split them into two. Earlier notes = "A", later notes = "B"

Good news, TOR works.

Here is what happened on Friday, June 24th 2022

I finally got the TOR servers working with both sys and the live servers.

This was tested from the dev server.

Changes were ported over from the dev server to the live servers.

This is when the salt rotated. It changed to what is on the dev server, which is not live.

Trip posting is not common on 8kun.top, and this was not verified after the work was done.

This is my fault, and I take responsibility for that.

It came as a surprise for me as well when trips had changed. Fixing this was relatively easy. I called an employee and asked them to put a backup on for me, which was fixed.

The temporary problem is visible on this trip chat thread.

As far as the Q posts. These are verified now to the best of my ability. TOR hides the IP address of individual posters, so that can not be verified, but the login by the Board Owner of /projectdcomms/ I can see that.

Then the deletion and banning of the B post are the additional verification that makes it highly probable, to the point of certainty, that these posts are valid by the person or persons that post with the Q trip.

It is likely that Q has a different password for the BO login, and the trip code. That is common security practice. I trust that

Q would be familiar with security, using TOR is an additional security step that requires knowledge past the Tenderfoot stage of internet use.

I publicly explained this on Sunday evening with at least 100 witnesses, including Chad Vivas, who has been retruthed by President Donald Trump.

Why didn’t the Q trip change with the other trips?

CodemonkeyZ made a special whitelist for Q before retiring from 8kun.top.

Did the salt change for a new Q to post as Q?

No, the salt change was an error that did not correlate with these posts.

My rushing to attend a live talk in Thousand Oaks, California, are the reason for the salt change.

This has been rectified.

Did you change the salt to make a new trip code match the Q trip code?

No, that would be more difficult than guessing the trip code password. It would take longer than the time until the heat death of the Universe

to change the salt, which is a long string of random characters to match up to a new password, to create a trip code that matches the Q trip code.

None of this will satisfy professional shills. This will not stop bold text posts by unprofessional members of the US government that are currently stepping all over their oaths to defend the Constitution of the United States.

What is a baker supposed to be doing while baking?

Obviously - collecting notes and prepping for the bake.

But is baker supposed to only do that?

Many bakers stand back.

Anime baker likes to interact while baking.

Other bakers are somewhere in between.

There's really nothing that says that baker can't shitpost or have other discussions while baking. I came to dig and still do digs when possible, sometimes do digging if the bake is slow.

Best way i've found to deal with it is using A and B versions of bread notes to shorten each "chunk".

Baker can use this even if notes would fit on a page - easier to read.

8Bit on Baking Bread

In the earliest stages of this community, Q referred to his posts and informational hints as crumbs on a trail for those to find a way/connection between people, places, and concepts of interest. A crumb must come from somewhere, and so the general discussion threads were thereafter called breads. Q continues to post crumbs in the general bread, but may also post on his own board (currently /patriotsfight/) or on other threads where he deems necessary.

The general bread (Q Research General #XXXX) is seen as the primary source of information and discussion of pertinent and recent events related to outing the corruption of US and foreign governments at all levels. It is the most ever-changing thread of any thread on the /qresearch/ board, and the dynamism and frequency of posts increases significantly whenever Q posts or when major political events occur.

Each thread can only contain 750 posts, and the bread reaches this limit roughly every two hours. Unless another bread is created, or baked, the discussion cannot continue in a smooth and uninterrupted way. As such, it is the responsibility of Anons to take on the responsibility of baking a new bread that contains the information from the previous breads and allows the discussion and flow of information to occur unimpeded.

The Anon who takes up this responsibility is the Baker, the functionary who ensures that new breads are baked in a timely manner. Any Anon can be a Baker; the title is only functionary and confers only responsibility and not power over other Anons. When a bread is nearly entirely consumed (i.e., the thread nears the 750 post limit), the Baker creates a new thread and posts the required/requested information at the beginning of it, such that other Anons may quickly reference it during their discussion. Should a Baker need to leave for whatever reason, the Baker requests a handoff of the dough, the text of the first posts of a bread, to another Anon who is willing to take on the responsibilities and keep the breads baking.

Over time, the role of Baker has evolved to include managing archives (or the links to them) and gathering notable posts, or Notables, made by Anons within the bread. Notables include properly sourced information, recent news and current events, insightful or useful commentary from other Anons, or meaningful speculation with a clear direction that requires further analysis or review. The gathering and posting of Notables ensures that other Anons entering the bread can quickly bring themselves up to speed without wading through hundreds, if not thousands, of posts. Thus it is the responsibility of the Baker to use their wisdom and discernment to determine what is or is not Notable, such that other Anons do not waste their time on useless or distracting posts. These notables are added to the dough and baked into future breads, which are then archived by other Anons for future reference.

A Baker that fails to create a new thread in a timely manner is quickly replaced by another Anon who steps up to bake. A Baker that posts pointless information to the Notables without correction is ousted by the other Anons who make way for another to more responsibly collect worthwhile information. Should a Baker fail in his responsibilities for whatever reason, it is up to Anons to rectify the situation as needed. Any interruption of the discussion prompts Anons to bake a new emergency bread and to reorganize, and any Baker intentionally promoting garbage information is quickly ousted such that a new Baker may take their place.

Over 2000 breads on /qresearch/ have been baked, each contributing to a months-long discussion of global politics and the processes behind weeding out the corruption that has overtaken the United States and world governments for the past 100+ years.

That is a good question.

Spam is material repeated over and over again with nothing new or of interest to most anons. Could be one post repeated in bread after bread.

Not welcome but it is always here to some degree.

Was not here at the start of QR, crept in over the years. now established like weeds in a garden.

To what degree do we tolerate it and on what basis?

Generally speaking, spam gets potentially deleted when-

- it is reported, if really spam (repeated)

- when excessive (bread gobbling).

- when purposely obnoxious (red text, especially when poster tries to make each post as long as possible)

- when a personal attack or an attack on Q or the board (queries are not attacks)

Biggest reason NOT to delete:

- When anons do not report (don't care that much)

- When anons are rebutting poster

- when spam is not controversial (will not reflect badly on the board or Q)

Hard case:

whether to delete when poster is purposely trying to make the entire board look like loons in order to destroy our reputation. IRL, this has a real impact on our ability to survive as a board. It's one thing to tolerate unpopular ideas, another to tolerate planted shills trying to prove board is anti-semitic (or WHATEVER) in order to turn the public against us.

Set the bread length @350 yesterday, but looks too high atm.

Our post per hour rate right now is 33.

Highest recent pph was 58, during rally. Let's be optimistic and say it's 50-60 within the next couple of days. That's about a 5-6 hour bread @350 being optimistic.

GOAL

To have breads that are not longer than 2-3 hours.

That would make the notables manageable and attract more bakers and notetakers.

200-300 is probably more realistic, but THESE NUMBERS AREN'T SET IN STONE.

If the pph rate goes up, so can the bread length.

UPDATE:

@200 is recommended bread length atm, @350 is the current max.

- If asked to verify previous bakes, post Previously Collected. This is not an attack on bakers, it's to ensure that no one baker can control the bread for 12+ hours by switching IPs to resume where he left off. Breads are for the BOARD, not the BAKER.

This is primarily a research board, dedicated to supporting Constitutionally protected speech in the spirit of the drops posted by Q since 2017.

Planefag & boatfag reports

For a long time, QR had a tradition of planefags/boatfags tracking the movements of key transports around the globe, especially military. When oss became the main arbiter of content, most of them left, along with many others who did regular reports such as Resignation Anon and Archive Anon.

We are trying now to revive that tradition. Bakers can help by routinely notabling those reports, which are helpful at all times but may become of critical importance if we ever - God forbid - get into a major global conflict. We won't be able to instantly manifest anons to track that info. Have to have systems in place all along.
