HOW TO POST TEXT
Most posts are done using the Quick Reply Box.
Can be accessed either by making a new post or by replying to an existing post.
For all text only posts
- SKIP the Name, Email, Subject fields. NOBODY but Q, admins and shills use them.
- Put your message in the Comment field.
- Select Reply.
Creating a new post
- Go to the bottom of the bread.
- Select Post a Reply on the right bottom of the page. Quick Reply box will open
- Then follow directions above.
Replying to a post
- Go to the post you want to reply to.
- Select the Post Number (in this case, 16072482) - Quick Reply will open with >>16072482
- Enter your reply below ("TOP KEK", meaning you really like the meme).
- CLICK Reply (you'll see your message on the screen at the bottom of the bread).
Don't be surprised if someone responds to your reply ("o7" – means 'agree' or 'I salute you').
ONE LAST THING: When replying to a post from a PREVIOUS BREAD, always add PB (or LB for last bread). This is so users aren't catapulted off the current bread when clicking on the link.

HOW TO POST IMAGES, MP4's and VIDEO LINKS
Images & mp4s
- Up to five images can be posted at a time.
- MP4s up to 15-16mgs can also be posted.
- Drag or copy files to the "'Select/drop/paste files here"' field under the Quick Reply box.
Embedding videos
Important: ALWAYS include a text link when posting videos. Some anons don't have direct access.
- Select Show post options & limits at bottom of Quick Reply box.
- Copy the link in the Embed field.
* YouTube: Click on video, then right click and select Copy Video URL.
* Twitter & Bitchute: Right click on videos, copy the link.
- For platforms that do not embed''', post a png or jpg plus the video link.
Sensitive images
- "Sensitive" = anything that could possibly be construed as kiddie po*n or advocating violence.
- EXAMPLE: pictures of naked persons with faces obscured so age can't be determined.
- If there's any question, the post will be deleted and the user perma-banned.

The General breads are dynamic – info is constantly flowing in.
You can post at any time except when the "dough" for a new bread is being "baked."
WAIT FOR THE DOUGH.

Organization, top to bottom
- Dough = Intro, Q posts, Notable posts
- Dough post = start of bread. Do Not Post anything ABOVE it.
- Anon posts = all the posts below the Dough post.
Board roles
- Anons post digs, memes and prayers after the Dough post.
- Bakers transition, monitor, and select notable posts for each bread.
- Notetakers can assist bakers by recording notables.
- Admins = Board Owner & Board Volunteers post board updates, correct bread numbers/titles, and eliminate spam & illegal content.
Special dig roles
- planefags track air traffic
- boatfags track water traffic
- archive anons archive Q posts, notables, and other memorable material.
- lawfags (lawyers) analyze legal docs
(etc.)
Anons also SHITPOST – which means anything other than the above (misc. side convos and memes).

FILTERING POSTS & REPORTING CONTENT
- Go to the post or poster to be filtered.

To Filter Posts & Posters
Filtering is used to edit out spam or other undesirable content.
- Select Hide Post for one post or ADD filter for more than one.
To Report Illegal Content like Kiddie P*rn or Unwanted Spam
- Select Global Report ONLY for illegal content (mostly CP or animal crush images).
- Select Report to report
* spam (repeated messages/images from bots or humans who act like them).
* mistakes in the numbering or spelling of bread titles
* doxxing, accidental or otherwise (admins will delete the dox post)
DO NOT use either to report legal content that is not spammed (boobs, gay sex, gore).

The OPTIONS Menu
Allows anons to customize appearance of posts.
There are many options, we'll look at TWO of the most popular.
- From within a General thread, find OPTIONS on the upper right of screen.
- Open with a click; you are in the General menu.
- Scroll down to see the full menu.
Change two options
1. Checkmark COLOR IDs to easily see IDs for each poster. These exist ONLY within each thread - when there's a new thread, each user gets a new ID. But handy for following convos within a thread.
(to keep up a convo in a new thread, link to the previous thread using PB/LB; see last line here >>17385936)
2. Checkmark HIDE POST DISCLAIMER to get rid of the disclaimer for each post.
There are other options to explore, but these of the ones of interest to new anons.

You don't need a VPN to post on 8kun, although it's not a bad idea for extra security. Some countries limit access to 8kun, using a VPN is the only way to bypass those limits.

For plenty of countries simply changing DNS does it and that's safer than using a VPN, because you don't know who is actually controlling the VPN.
DNS modification is easy, but simple to circumvent.
To actually block 8kun, you would have to do deep packet inspection.
EU to my knowledge uses DNS.
