Would juicing work for losing body fat? As in drinking/eating nothing but vegetable juice all day for X amount of days. Wouldn't you also lose muscle mass from doing so though?

to lose bodyfat u must be on a calorie deficit, either by dieting or burning them through insane amounts of exercise, if u dont supply your body with enough protein you're likely to lose muscle mass, but the fat will always go first, the body isn't retarded, why would the body make you lose your muscle instead of your fat, when fat is literally storages of unused energy

I don't think so, because most juice brands have a lot of sugar. It may be natural sugar, but it's still sugar. Water and electrolytes are your best options, which is what I'm doing.

I meant actually juicing fresh vegetables using a juicer, my dad bought one but he rarely uses it so I was thinking about taking it to college.

Also is keto a meme or is there truth to it?

If you're extracting the juice from fruit or vegetables and leaving the flesh of the fruit behind, you're consuming the same mess of sugar as with commercial juices, just without the additives. You're better off eating the actual fruit so that you get the fiber and nutrients.

And you would likely lose muscle mass unless you're consuming carbs and protein which would defeat the purpose of whatever you're trying to do.

He wouldn't lose muscle if he's strength training though. The muscle mass will not grow without protein during a fast, but the mass will not shrink either if he's regularly lifting.

Our fat often stores protein anyway, so the muscles may actually be able to grow a little anyway, even during a fast.

Fasting is the worst way to lose weight, why do people never read the sticky? Just lower your caloric intake and you'll be fine

>>149970 You just explained it yourself, your body eats muscle mass first keep those stores of energy. Then your body hypes up that metabolism to store more so when you break that fast you start getting chuunky

Fasting is super fucking good for you, there's evidence from laboratory mice for example that calorie restriction can increase lifespan by 30-40% by itself.

nah, the occasional apple or orange to spike blood sugar after a workout is fine but drinking pure caloric sugar is pointless.

Just drink some water or some tea, mate. The sugars/crabs in the juice will end up breaking the fast.

Friend if you want to lose weight just eat 5 small meals (under 300 calories each) a day and exercise on a regular basis ( preferably resistance training)
