Obama’s presidency turned out to be a disappointment to many progressives, who were frustrated, by, among other things, his support for expanded international free trade deals after campaigning on renegotiating them, and his administration’s refusal to criminally prosecute major banks responsible for the 2008 crisis.

Since leaving office, Obama has largely stopped populist economic arguments altogether. He is apparently more interested in the issue of alleged “disinformation” disseminated on social media. That was the topic of Obama’s speech at Stanford University in April 2022, as well as the focus of the Obama Foundation’s inaugural Democracy Forum summit last November. Obama made no mention of the carried interest loophole, or any tax justice issues, during either public address.

The carried interest loophole has remained vexing for multiple administrations. On at least one occasion, former President Donald Trump railed against the loophole on the campaign trail. But he never invested significant energy in eliminating it, sparing it in his far-reaching tax cut legislation in 2017 – and creating a new path for high-income earners to avoid top income tax rates.

President Joe Biden similarly promised to end the special tax treatment but failed after fierce lobbying from the investment fund industry.

Last year, as congressional negotiators hashed out the final stages of the Inflation Reduction Act, the loophole’s closure appeared imminent.

Hunter Biden and his business partners with ties to Burisma attended a December 2015 holiday party hosted by the then-vice president Biden just a few days after he returned from his famous trip to Ukraine, where he threatened to withhold $1 billion in U.S. aid if the country’s leaders did not fire their top prosecutor, according to records reviewed by Fox News Digital.

As vice president, Biden traveled to Ukraine, where he famously put pressure on the country’s leaders to fire then-Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, who was investigating Mykola Zlochevsky, the founder and former president of Burisma Holdings, where Hunter served as a board member from April 2014 to April 2019. Biden's defenders have said that Shokin was fired not because he was pursuing corruption too aggressively, but rather because he was too lax.

Biden visited Ukraine from Dec. 7-9, 2015. Three months after the visit, Shokin was fired, and Biden would later use it to boast about his foreign policy skills.

"I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money," Biden said in 2018, according to a transcript of his remarks at the Council on Foreign Relations. "Well, son of a b—-. (Laughter.) He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time."

The Gateway Pundit reported on the charges against 24-year-old college student and decorated Marine veteran Daniel Penny in the death of serial felon Jordan Neely.

While the media has tried to portray Neely as a harmless Michael Jackson Subway crooner, a witness who was on the subway with Neely and Penny during their encounter is calling Penny a hero and claiming that he saved people’s lives.

The witness shared what she saw, “I’m sitting on a train reading my book, and, all of a sudden, I hear someone spewing this rhetoric. He said, ‘I don’t care if I have to kill an F, I will. I’ll go to jail, I’ll take a bullet.”

Penny spoke with Fox News sharing that be believes if he had not stepped in, Neely “would have killed somebody.”

Poll: Donald Trump Boasts 38-Point Lead in 2024 Republican Primary

President Donald Trump is boasting a 38-point lead in the 2024 Republican primary race, the latest weekly Morning Consult survey found.

The latest Morning Consult survey, released Tuesday, found a majority of potential Republican primary voters — 58 percent — support the former president in the growing GOP primary race.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is rumored to announce his presidential campaign this week, comes in 38 points behind with 20 percent support. That reflects a slightly narrowing gap from last week when Trump held a 43-point lead over the Florida governor.

No other potential rival comes remotely close to Trump. Former Vice President Mike Pence, who said in April he would make a 2024 decision in “weeks,” comes in 14 points behind DeSantis with six percent support.

Presidential candidates Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy tie with four percent support each, followed by former Rep. Liz Cheney with two percent support. Sen. Tim Scott, who officially launched his presidential campaign on Monday in North Charleston, South Carolina, also came in with two percent support.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbot sees one percent support, while South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson — the latter of whom is formally in the race and not a fan of Trump — garner zero percent support.

Another one percent of voters say they support “someone else.”

Donald Trump Dominates Iowa Caucus by 42 Points

President Donald Trump leads the Iowa caucus by 42 points, according to the latest Emerson College Polling data.

The survey, taken among 442 Iowa Republican caucus goers, found Trump leading the Republican primary field with overwhelming majority support — 62 percent. No other candidate comes remotely close. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who formally jumped into the race on Wednesday, came in a distant second, 42 points behind, with 20 percent support.

Former Vice President Mike Pence and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley tied for third place, having five percent support each, followed by Sen. Tim Scott with three percent. Notably, Scott formally jumped into the presidential race on Monday.

Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, noted that Trump’s lead “reflects his numbers in Emerson’s March New Hampshire primary poll, where he held a 41-point lead over DeSantis.”

“The former president’s base continues to be voters under 35: 75 percent of whom support Trump, and voters without a college degree: 70 percent support Trump. DeSantis’s support is higher among voters with a postgraduate degree, with 29 percent support, still trailing Trump’s 37 percent with this group,” Kimball added.

Notably, this survey was taken prior to DeSantis formally jumping into the presidential ring.

The website – BidenLaptopMedia.com – houses almost 10,000 photos spanning from 2008 to 2019 and took months to complete, Garrett Ziegler, the founder of nonprofit Marco Polo, told Fox News Digital.
