NASA Selects Emily Nelson as Chief Flight Director

NASA has named Emily Nelson its new chief flight director, leading the group that directs human spaceflight missions from the Mission Control Center at the agency’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.

Norm Knight, the agency’s director of flight operations, selected Nelson to replace Holly Ridings, who held the position from 2018 to 2022, and now helps lead the agency’s Gateway Program, an international partnership to establish humanity’s first space station orbiting the Moon. Nelson has been the acting chief flight director since Riding's departure.

“Being a flight director is about accepting great responsibility and exercising excellent leadership and judgment – responsibility for the mission, for your team, and for the astronauts we fly,” Knight said. “Emily’s tenure leading our flight control teams has proven that she is remarkably knowledgeable on the realities of human spaceflight and eminently composed when facing daunting challenges. She is unequivocally the right person to lead our flight director office as we endeavor to push the boundaries of human spaceflight exploration.”

In this role, Nelson manages 31 active flight directors and flight directors-in-training who oversee a variety of human spaceflight missions involving the International Space Station, including integrating American-made commercial crew spacecraft into the fleet of spacecraft servicing the orbiting laboratory, as well as Artemis missions to the Moon.

According to Canadian astronomers, Earth has received numerous radio signals from space, some of which are suspected to be messages from extraterrestrial sources, NY Post reported. As per the report, 50 of the messages are said to be coming from “repeating sources”.

Canadian astronomers discover thousands of deep space radio signals reaching Earth

The Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment has reported the discovery of 25 new repeating sources. They are also referred to as fast radio bursts (FRBs), originating from the depths of the universe. The experiment employs a powerful radio telescope in British Columbia to capture these signals.

The CHIME/FRB collaboration has labeled these FRBs as “one of the biggest mysteries in astronomy.” Yet, there is concrete evidence indicating that they came from a location beyond the Milky Way galaxy.

“Most of the thousands of FRBs that astronomers have discovered to date have only ever been seen to burst once. But there is a small subset that have been seen to burst multiple times,” the collaboration stated.

Eleanor Hoppe sent child rape porn to undercover agents and was arrested at a hotel where she planned to rape an 8-year-old girl.

A Charlottesville, Virginia socialite who’s described as the “scion” of a major uni-party legal family and the ex-wife of a federal magistrate judge appointed under the Obama Administration has been arrested after she sent child rape porn to undercover investigators and traveled to a Northern Virginia hotel, equipped with silk undergarments and lubricant, to rape an 8-year-old girl.

Eleanor Beaumont Hunton Hoppe, a 45-year-old divorced mother of two daughters, was arrested on March 20th and charged with multiple federal crimes. Currently, Hoppe is facing federal charges of distribution of child pornography, enticement of a minor, and attempted transportation of a minor with attempt to engage in sexual activity.

All of the charges are felonies and Hoppe faces up to life in prison if she’s convicted.

The arrest isn’t even Hoppe’s first for a sex crime, having been charged and convicted in 2019 for “undressing where prohibited.” Unfortunately, that case was appealed and the charge was later dismissed, leaving Hoppe to continue acting on her perversions.

As a result of the investigation, authorities have found Hoppe to have been peddling child rape pornography and nude photos of herself online, in “fetish” forums where she chatted with fellow pedophiles and, fortunately, with undercover investigators. It’s unclear if any of the little girls in Hoppe’s child rape videos are her own children, who are 10 and 12 years old respectively, but she told undercover investigators during web chats that she was interPost too long. McCarrick was laicized in 2019 after a Vatican investigation concluded that he had sexually abused both children and adults, including young priests and seminarians.

A disgraced former cardinal has been charged in Wisconsin with sexual assault.

Theodore McCarrick, 92, stands accused of assaulting an 18-year-old boy at a lakeside cabin in the south-eastern region of the state in 1977. According to Associated Press, the alleged victim told investigators that McCarrick had been sexually abusing him since he was 11 years old. He also alleged that McCarrick took him to parties where other men sexually assaulted him.

The complaint was lodged on Friday.

McCarrick was once one of the most influential prelates in the United States. Ordained by New York’s Cardinal Spellman in 1958, he reached the heights of his profession by being named Archbishop of Washington in 2000 and a cardinal in 2001. After retiring as archbishop, the then-cardinal maintained his influence as a globe-trotting fundraiser. His ecclesiastical career came to a definitive end only in 2017 after a credible allegation that he had sexually molested a teenage boy was received by the Archdiocese of New York. It was then discovered by the public that rumors of his predatory behaviour had swirled around American Church circles for decades and that settlements had been made to victims.
