I abused methamphetamine heavily for a year, it’s completely fucked my shit up, my sleep, sex drive, clarity, focus and pleasure.

how long until I return to baseline?

I wouldn't know personally, but cg kid on youtube is an ex meth addict that talks about how he became sober and the effects of his addiction so maybe one of his vids could tell you. Although from what I've heard your sex drive will probably be permafried :((

On another note, what is the drug scene like in Japan? I wouldn't think that there would be a whole lot over there.

I bet you will be doing OK in 6 mnths. Lifting heavy, sunlight, Lions Mane, Nutrition and Meditation can speed up things and I bet make you better than baseline in about a year. For me, Keto helped a lot.

I had something similar going on 3 years ago and im truly thankful for the horrible state I was in. I realized to course correct and do my own thing and now I feel better than I have ever done.

Reading is another great thing to do. When you're done with impulsive pleasure seeking, it is only right to start consulting the ancient wisdom.

Without meaning it will be difficult to stay sober. 12 steps is great.

Good luck brother

47a8d2 No.150623 [Open thread]

Hey /fit/ what are some meals, recipes and other resources you got to make and dehydrate with minimal effort? I'm not even trying to do /k/ or /out/ stuff (that would be fun though), I just want some good shit I can just be lazy as fuck about, and /ck/ is dead as shit.

Mainly, my goal for these meals is to be able to just pour water in and reheat in the microwave without it taking up space in the fridge. For the meantime, I'm planning to recreate a bunch of mountain house recipes.

My Resources and tools I have to make this happen are thus:

>four-rack donut-style dehydrator with liquid-trays.

>An off-brand instant-pot. (it has a canning setting, for the record)

>An assortment of Bell jars in both pint and quart sizes.

I got a food-saver vaccum sealer, but unfortunately, it's broken as fuck, so I don't have the means to use it right now. I may buy another one or something similar if it'll help.

Since it's sweet corn season, I've also been wondering what kind of spices would go with an instant-pot chicken with rice, beans and corn? I know, onions and garlic for starters, but what else?

d13522 No.150592 [Open thread]

On one hand, I'm willing to believe in CICO.

On the other hand, I vaguely recall the guy on the BuffDudes YouTube Channel claiming he had to eat 10,000kcal every day before he could finally gain weight because he had a high metabolism.

Meanwhile, I also remember an anon admitting that initially, he believed himself to have a high metabolism since he too could seemingly eat a lot of food without gaining weight but what was really happening was that he had an irregular daily calorie intake such that on some days, he'd eat around 2500 calories and on other days, he'd eat as little as 500 and so when you look at his weekly calorie intake, he's actually undereating.

What's the truth regarding this situation? Is weight loss and weight gain as simple as CICO suggests or is there truly something more to it such that some people do in fact have a high metabolism?

PSA: While I am indeed morbidly obese, I wish to say that if there is such a thing as a high metabolism, it doesn't affect my willingness to change my weight. Something like how hard I have to struggle relative to others to get what I want just isn't something I'm concerned about. Not with regards to this. This will determine how confident I am when I present myself to others and so for this, I'm much more open to paying a higher price, if I must. I know I'll be happier being slim, regardless of how strict I have to be with my dieting and exercising in order to get there and stay there so you won't hear complaining from me.

If I were to bring attention to this difference in my suffering relative to others, it would be to encourage others with similarly unideal genetics that the desired result is still attainable.

There is another possible inefficiency. Eating calories does not guarantee that you will be able to digest and absorb those calories. Some seemingly gluttonous eaters may not be getting the full caloric value of their food.

What is the difference between the Church spiritual and Church temporal? What are magisteria?

Apologies for the delayed response. I could never get back to you sooner due to my poor time-management.

I didn't know some people could be really inefficient with their caloric intake to the point where they could eat gluttonously and seemingly gain no weight. That's interesting.

I must admit, I'm new to my faith. Almost everything I know about it is coming from the lectures available on the Sensus Fidelium YouTube Channel.

I think when you say "Church temporal", you perhaps mean what I commonly hear referred to as "Church Militant", that is, well, us Catholics here on Earth. We're at risk of losing our salvation but our prayers are more efficacious than the ones coming from those in "Church Suffering" and we can earn "merit" (I believe this to be a kind of spiritual reward in heaven? I'm not too clear to be honest).

"Church Spiritual" isn't something I've heard before. What I know is that there's two other "Churches" outside of Militant. There's "Church Suffering" i.e. those being purified in the fires of Purgatory and there's "Church Triumphant" i.e. those in Heaven, enjoying the "beatific vision" of The Trinity.

I don't know what the "magisteria" are but I do hear the term "magisterium" occasionally (perhaps that's a bit nitpicky? I'd rather be safe than sorry though). From my understanding, they are a group of people (clergy perhaps? I've literally never looked into it) who exist to interpret the Bible in a way such that its lessons can be applied to the questions raised by modern life. Take for example, the fact that the Bible does not explicitly condemn IVF. Now, God, in his omniscience, must've known that IVF would be discovered. Now, while he never explicitly condemned it, the magisterium have deduced that it is not an acceptable practise. I must admit, the explanation doesn't really strike me as "holy". It feels more like a calculation, actually but I suppose that too is still valid.

I have seen this happen, even with my own kids. You put something down on the table that they like, stand back, they will fight you for it and lick the plate. Then they barely eat anything for two days. If you measured only the binge, you would think they would be total fatasses. The kid that binges the worst is also the thinnest.

I'm on a bulk now, and find myself not wanting to eat as much, it has become a chore. But I make it happen even if it always isn't the cleanest food. It's fucking hard to source enough meat during covid…

I think the secret to these people is that after a binge, they just aren't hungry, so they don't eat. Food doesn't sound good to them, there's nothing that sounds good to eat. They don't really notice, if you didn't have to take a piss would you notice if you went for a day or two without a piss? Probably not.

>>150596

>I think it would need to boost the body temperature by more than a degree if this explanation were correct.

It's unpleasant, you find ways to cool off. Unless you think you would just sit there in a puddle of sweat. You take clothes off, wear lighter clothes, turn down the AC, drink ice water, etc.

>No one wants to tell the fatty that they are skinny because they don't eat, because then you are basically calling the fatty a glutton. Which they are, but it's usually not socially acceptable to call fatties out on it.

Oh, I see.

Not only are there people with inefficient metabolisms who eat a lot of food and fail to gain weight, there are also irregular eaters who are also aware of their irregular eating habit and merely hide the truth of this matter from their fat friend. That sounds a bit cruel but at the same time, I think there's a difference between the fat friend who whines about her weight difference with her friends and merely seeks consolation and the fat friend who sincerely seeks weight-loss advice and is willing to accept critique to make changes. The fat friend was probably seeking consolation.

Well, thanks for the information anyway.

hey, Tdk instructor here, if you really want to learn the basics of Tdk just know that first and foremost its supposed to be a "military" martial art, meaning that mastering a few techniques and body conditioning is more important than flashy moves or breaking boards (modern day tdk is not such thing), if you are not interested in the sport or becoming a "full" time practitioner just remember that in traditional martial arts conditioning an technique are more important than some other aspects, if you are interested in learning self defense and want to truly cover your bases, start with boxing and some grappling art (wrestling or judo, then bjj), do that for a few years or at the least 6 months, then change style

REMEMBER THE ONLY THING YOU NEED IS TO KEEP PRACTICING, NEVER STOP

i wish you luck in your training

Find a Bikram Yoga place near you and go regularly. That's the one where it's 90 minutes in 105 degree Fahrenheit and 40% humidity. It will unfuck your posture real quick and get your whole body in insanely great shape. And everyone there is incredibly attractive.

Farmer's walks have fixed my posture. Any heavy objects will do, as long as you can hold them comfortably. The key thing is to push your chest up and squeeze your shoulder blades together. This will progressively undo your natural slouch, so you won't have to keep stopping to correct your posture like >>149741 recommended.

.

Do 3 sets of 100 ft walks, rest 3-5 minutes in between. It doesn't have to be a straight line btw, I walk around a table (~30 ft perimeter, so 3 laps and change satisfies). If you have the equipment, try to do linear progression with it. If not, just carry the heaviest stuff you've got and keep trying until you can get 3x100'. Some say to do it every day, I only do it after a workout.

I bought an ab roller and pushup bars off Amazon. I already had a few small dumb bells laying around. I still go outside for walks. I'll eventually order one of those 'power towers' or whatever they're fucking called.

Pullup bar, dumbells, bands. The pullup bar is by far the best investment I've had. Takes a ton of time to progress, but definitely helps.

The abb roler is some torture at first. Does it get better ?

I haven't received it yet. It comes with a mat so it shouldn't be too hard on the knees. The brand is Perfect Fitness if you want to check it out.

I have one but it is some chink brand.

Your knees get destroyed with it unless you have decent carpets. Consider some yoga mat, or even a towel at your knees, because this will fucking hurt otherwise, and not in a good way.

There seem to be some exercise variantions without your knees on the floor, but I am yet to try them.

ITT we discuss the music we listen to while in the gym. Right now, most gyms in the US are closed or only partially open due to the COVID-19 situation. However, what music did you enjoy listening to before this virus shut the gyms down? What will you listen to when you're back in?

Me

>Amon Amarth - Death in Fire

>AC/DC - Back in Black

>Guns N' Roses - Nightrain

>Amon Amarth - Raven's Flight

>The Bad Light - Sweet Sting

8kun just isn't the same as 8chan, but I'll make do with the community here. Let's please try to be supportive here gentlemen.

Anyway, ITT we discuss fasting as a means of burning body fat. We share what our fasting goals and fast lengths are. For me, I am trying to lose body fat to make my muscle masses more easily seen and maybe, dare I say it, I might start consistently dating a woman and maybe get laid for once.

>Fasting start, now (12:40 PM)

>Starting weight - 270LBs

>Length - Any goddamn time I can make it, I suck at this

>pic related, the type of woman who might lay my ass and I can lose my virginity to. I give up on finding virgin women of any moral standing.

Alright, so, to help mitigate cravings and hunger, I am using the fabled snake juice recipe.

>Walmart brand baking soda

>NoSalt

>Himalayan pink salt

>no epsom salt, because I couldn't find any

I have no idea if this crap works, but I'm willing to try.

I don't want to RP as a Christian, but it's sad how this world tries to drag one down, isn't it? Penis in vagina. That's what they live by.

What I'd be interested to know is how long after a fast/ crash diet your strength has fully recovered, because if it's just two months or so, sure why not? Why not fast? It has some health benefits on the immune system, metabolism, the liver. At least so I've heard.
