No one has any business doing bicep curls unless they can already do 15 full unassisted pull-ups.

If you can't do that, then focus on assisted pull-ups (rubber band or counterweight to help you do the full motion).

Of course do other back exercises too like rows (wide and narrow grip) and both grips on pullups as well.

Your biceps will get plenty big just from working your back. Most of those guys in the gym isolating their biceps don't know what they are doing.

Calm the fuck down, hombre. Pull-ups are a compound exercise. Strong arms doesn't automatically mean that you will be able to do 15 continuous pull-ups, but it sure as hell helps, if you have strong arms. Everything that you do, to help you develop your overall strength, benefits you in some way or another. Doing arm exercises, just for lulz, after the main workout, will come in handy in the long run.

There are super shortcuts, so I will go ahead and type up some tips if you really want to go that route. I'll include all the drug tips too (Steroids) since that seems to be what you want to know about.

SUPER WEIGHT LOSS

(FAST / EASY / SAFE / PAINLESS)

First, drop all the fat. The easiest, quickest way to do that is to see a weight-loss doctor and get a prescription of hCG (the drops that go under your tongue). He will also give you a prescription for a hunger pill like phentermine. It will be super cheap.

Using that drug you can safely and painlessly lose 1-2 pounds of pure fat every single day for a month or two straight. You will have to eat a low calorie diet, and you will have to drink bubble water the whole time (like Perrier) to keep your stomach full, but you will feel fine with no hunger suffering. (Due to the drugs and the bubble water). You will also piss a lot which is good because otherwise your body will salvage the fat metabolites and reincorporate them back into your body again as fat. Better to piss them out.

DIET WHILE ON hCG:

You'll have an egg for breakfast (or 3 egg whites), an orange for lunch, some broccoli and chicken (or fish) for dinner, and one other fruit snack like some strawberries. You can't use oils of any kind except you can safely use a small amount of coconut oil to fry your egg and to flavor your broccoli/chicken/curry soup. Also, do a daily 20 min walk.

Suggest buying some of those electric scales that can upload data to your phone about your daily progress in fat loss, muscle gain, bone density, water levels, etc.

There are two methods

A.) the safest and more proven way to have a longer banana is mirco-tearing. Agree that core strength is important to support other types of strength, it's just not going to have immediate/noticeable effects for a beginner, because it doesn't make you sprout abs.

Newbies would be better served by starting a basic lifting plan built around the Big 3 or Big 4, with cardio after to get endurance up and shed fat. No weird accessory work or tai bo crossfit zumba crap that tries to mix cardio and strength.

Bench press day with chest flies, incline press, tricep extensions/pushdowns, etc. Squat day with leg extensions, calf raises, leg presses, etc. Overhead press day with shoulder raises, arnold DB presses, etc. Deadlift day with DB rows, lat pulldowns, shrugs, etc.

3-5 sets of 6-10 reps, big lift first, increase the weight once you're at the upper numbers to force your reps back down. Then hit the treadmill, rowing machine, or bike for a half hour.

Thankfully I'm very lucky in that I have some woods behind my house I can sneak into to lift boulders and stuff to fulfill my weights routines. While I don't have a home gym, I do have a treadmill and a few pieces of equipment to do more "serious" calisthenics, so I'll at least have something to do until quarantine is lifted. I'm more pissed that my gym wants to charge me a monthly membership while every facility in the state is closed and is making me use the three-month clause (I can claim up to three months of "hardship" where I don't have to pay but I can't go either) to cover this stupid virus.

My gym is also closed I believe. At the moment my plan is to just do light, spaced exercise throughout the day. So every couple hours I'll do an easy set of squats, some pullups and chinups, decline pushups, situps, neck curls. maybe dips as well. and a couple of minutes on the jump rope between working on other things.

I've heard it called "greasing the groover" which to me sounds stupid, but whatever. I'm at home all day so rather than exercising in a single window of time I just plan to do it spaced out.

/fit/ is probably the last place to ask about this. There is no cure for any virus period, this is biology 101 dude. In terms of vaccinations, it's impossible because there's too many strains mutating too quickly for an effective vaccine to be made. As a general rule of thumb:

>Don't get near Chinks

>Don't be elderly

>Stay away from Seattle since that particular strain affects adults instead of elderly/children

>Stay away from big cities or gatherings in general

>Only go shopping as necessary

>Shower

>Don't eat out

>Wash your hands before and after eating

>Brush your god damn teeth

>Open doors with your sleeve or with a paper towel if possible

>Stay minimum 6 feet (preferably 12 feet) away from everyone else at all times

If you follow this advice you only have a moderate risk of contracting it when a stupid family member who doesn't listen gets it and brings it home.

No, there isn't a cure yet. This strain is pretty new and they're working on it, but just sitting around eating eggs isn't going to magically cure it. Here's some advice from the virologist who actually demonstrated the number of genes in coronaviruses. I thought his list was more widespread now and that everyone saw it since he got a little pissy about people sharing it so I'll paraphrase; it was originally for his friends and family, then some nurses threw it on social media. It's James Robb MD, if you care. I've added amounts based on my own household usage because apparently people are retarded and think they need 10 cases of hand disinfectant when 1 pump will last them like 2 months if they're not going out multiple times per day. If you don't want to catch it, leave some disinfectant for other people so they can also remove it and slow the spread.

The Virus:

Prevention:

You will not get huge unless you leave humanity behind. It's simply not possible. Calisthenics are limited by your body mass and whatever stack of books you put on your back/chest/shoulders. Weights will get you to the same point in a quarter of the time that calisthenics will, and calisthenics have an exponential decay that's much faster than weights. All calisthenics are good for is passing military physicals, and maintaining bare minimum musculature when you have zero access to equipment such as during a pandemic or when in prison.

Short answer - no.

To develop such physique, you have to do heavy work, but only with small bursts of high power. You will also have to go for a dirty bulk and pop some Ukrainian vitamin B6. There is no way to simulate those sort of conditions with your own body weight. You will gradually become stronger and more toned, meaning that you will be able to do more work, because, for example, 30 push ups will be a child's play to you, hence, you will do more push ups, to get that burn, which then will strain your muscles more for endurance, rather than power, and your muscle cross section will not increase, but it's density will increase.

I did calisthenics for one summer, just for shits and giggles with a buddy. You will develop grip strength, get slightly wider back, gain a bit on your arms and stabilise your core. Downside is that there's just no way to work on your legs sufficiently, and you have to do loads of chest work, to compensate for only working on your back every day.

Basically no. You can sprint, plyometrics in general, Overcoming Gravity, etc but it won't be enough. If you have the mindset of a twice convicted violent murderous thug that kills with his bear hands then maybe – point being that if your mind makes you produce the necessary hormones every day most every hour then yeah, you're good.

If you don't have the mind of a psychopathic caveman or wild predatory animal then it won't work. You can of course, after getting a feel for it, get the hormone side of things without the cavepsycho animal. Good luck.
