A normal man should at all times view homosexuals as sick and disgusting people. Kind of how you would perceive someone sick from the plague.

Furthermore the majority of gays do not have anything good planned for you, if you ever were in their field of influence.

Get those modern beliefs out of your heads.

Agree that core strength is important to support other types of strength, it's just not going to have immediate/noticeable effects for a beginner, because it doesn't make you sprout abs.

Newbies would be better served by starting a basic lifting plan built around the Big 3 or Big 4, with cardio after to get endurance up and shed fat. No weird accessory work or tai bo crossfit zumba crap that tries to mix cardio and strength.

Bench press day with chest flies, incline press, tricep extensions/pushdowns, etc. Squat day with leg extensions, calf raises, leg presses, etc. Overhead press day with shoulder raises, arnold DB presses, etc. Deadlift day with DB rows, lat pulldowns, shrugs, etc.

3-5 sets of 6-10 reps, big lift first, increase the weight once you're at the upper numbers to force your reps back down. Then hit the treadmill, rowing machine, or bike for a half hour.

These may make you more nimble, an increase explosive power of existing muscle, but they aren't going to build new muscle or burn fat. They're better as supplements to a strength/resistance based program, or a long cardio program if you need to lose a good amount of fat.

Out of the two, this makes the least sense. I can see there being an argument for an upper limit to how much muscle growth you can get out of it (upper limit keyword), but not burn fat? lol

No one mentioned building muscle to become a mass monster though.

Now that Coronachan is starting to spread her love to ever corner of the globe and with every civilized nation declaring a state of emergency, how will /fit/izens stay healthy? Most gyms are going to be closed, and those that aren't are going to be petri dishes with the amount of sweat and other bodily fluids covering everything so those are a no-go. Stores are going to gradually run dry of all the essential foods for a diet. How are you going to keep your gains up and your lifts strong when you have nothing to eat/lift? Share your advice with those that know what the fuck they're doing.

Thankfully I'm very lucky in that I have some woods behind my house I can sneak into to lift boulders and stuff to fulfill my weights routines. While I don't have a home gym, I do have a treadmill and a few pieces of equipment to do more "serious" calisthenics, so I'll at least have something to do until quarantine is lifted. I'm more pissed that my gym wants to charge me a monthly membership while every facility in the state is closed and is making me use the three-month clause (I can claim up to three months of "hardship" where I don't have to pay but I can't go either) to cover this stupid virus.

My gym is also closed I believe. At the moment my plan is to just do light, spaced exercise throughout the day. So every couple hours I'll do an easy set of squats, some pullups and chinups, decline pushups, situps, neck curls. maybe dips as well. and a couple of minutes on the jump rope between working on other things.

I've heard it called "greasing the groover" which to me sounds stupid, but whatever. I'm at home all day so rather than exercising in a single window of time I just plan to do it spaced out.

Fasting, we've all heard about it, it supposedly works by naturally increasing ketone body production by limiting insulin, but apparently Coconut oil, because it's made of medium chain triglycerides, gets broken down into Ketones immediately, so I feel pretty confident recommending it as a replacement for any butter or oil you might still be ingesting, though I doubt it's total potency, so I made this thread to remind myself to post later on the long term effects of oil if there's any.

If you live in hot climate where there's coconuts, it's easier to make your own coconut oil that is literally an oil not a that white chunk of lard.

You will need shavings of coconut, pressed so you extract the coconut milk, machine pressed makes more of this but you can try with your hands, strain it so you get the pure and top milk.

Once you have the coconut milk you can then proceed to fry it over a wide pan since we are drying this up to the oil eliminating water content,

Just let it boil. It becomes semi thick milk which is perfect for coffee.

Even longer it becomes somewhat chunky and tasty, and you will notice there's oil build up which will fry the coconut milk chunks.

Even longer and you get brown crystals which taste somewhat good, you can collect these as a snack but be careful as these easily burn up and taste bad when browned too much!

Now transfer those and you are left with literally free-flowing oil consistency coconut oil which also smells good. It would last longer if you again fry the collected oil to eliminate any water traces, use a new pan as there might be leftovers of those chunks on the one you used.

This can last very long and stored while under hot climate but keep it under room temperature and away from sunlight. I usually store them in the fridge so I can just scoop up easily for my coffee.

I don't know about those thick coconut oils but they look like cold-pressed and have fillers and possibly paraben and other beauty product kind of shit added.

Same. I like using virgin oil for fapping. Those little solids particles mixed into virgin coconut oil from less-than-ideal pressing/filtering make for a much better fap.

The purpose of cold pressing coconut oil is that when you process coconut oil it loses a lot of the triglycerides that make it a "healthy" oil.

So I read up that coconut oil can help with hemorrhoids, and since my asshole has bled off and on for the last fifteen years I figure I'd give it a shot. I've had a particularly bad case the last few days so I've been putting about a tablespoon-sized suppository of coconut oil up my bum the last few days and… It's surprisingly worked pretty well. The biggest issue is obviously that it acts as an analgesic so I've gotta be extra careful when wiping if I have to shit within two or three hours of application. The other big issue is that if you don't get it pretty far up there with a medical glove, it tends to leak out a sort of "biofilm" of coconut oil and whatever stank is about ready to come out your ass a half hour after application. I recommend about a middle finger's worth of distance up your butt if you decide to use coconut oil to treat hemorrhoids, and to apply it after taking a shit.

I also read something about it being good for testosterone, so I've been slathering my dick/balls in oil the last few days as well. I've been feeling more energetic and capable of completing challenges with more willpower which is usually a sign of a test booster for me, but on the flip side I have basically no sex drive. I think it's that analgesic property of coconut oil I mentioned. Like, you get the urge to fap real bad when your dick is covered in coconut oil, but about two or three minutes into fapping, and suddenly you can't keep your dick hard to save your life. This might be a good application of coconut oil for those practicing nofap since you lose feeling in your dick relatively quickly after application and it keeps everything moisturized down there (plus coconut oil has antimicrobial properties so it's probably protecting your dick too).

/fit/ is probably the last place to ask about this. There is no cure for any virus period, this is biology 101 dude. In terms of vaccinations, it's impossible because there's too many strains mutating too quickly for an effective vaccine to be made. As a general rule of thumb:

>Don't get near Chinks

>Don't be elderly

>Stay away from Seattle since that particular strain affects adults instead of elderly/children

>Stay away from big cities or gatherings in general

>Only go shopping as necessary

>Shower

>Don't eat out

>Wash your hands before and after eating

>Brush your god damn teeth

>Open doors with your sleeve or with a paper towel if possible

>Stay minimum 6 feet (preferably 12 feet) away from everyone else at all times

If you follow this advice you only have a moderate risk of contracting it when a stupid family member who doesn't listen gets it and brings it home.

In any case as I said above, this isn't really a /fit/ topic. While I know some of you may be averse to going off-site, Julay's /k/ thread is probably the best place to obtain information (lurk, don't post like a retard). If you want to discuss the disease in the other thread I don't mind, but this isn't really related to /fit/ness, health, or feels, so I'll be anchoring it in about 48 hours.

No, there isn't a cure yet. This strain is pretty new and they're working on it, but just sitting around eating eggs isn't going to magically cure it. Here's some advice from the virologist who actually demonstrated the number of genes in coronaviruses. I thought his list was more widespread now and that everyone saw it since he got a little pissy about people sharing it so I'll paraphrase; it was originally for his friends and family, then some nurses threw it on social media. It's James Robb MD, if you care. I've added amounts based on my own household usage because apparently people are retarded and think they need 10 cases of hand disinfectant when 1 pump will last them like 2 months if they're not going out multiple times per day. If you don't want to catch it, leave some disinfectant for other people so they can also remove it and slow the spread.

The Virus:

>COVID-19 is a strain of the coronavirus family, which are generally associated with snakes. This is why you don't eat the fuckers in sketchy Chinese restaurants with unknown levels of health maintenance. Whether this particular strain is from snakes this time or not, I dunno. Viruses like to mutate and there's a lot of speculation.

>This is a pneumonia-type deal. The virus only has receptors for lung cells, so if it ONLY gets in your ear you won't get sick. When it comes out is when the problem starts. It needs to get into your respiratory system through your nose or mouth and there's no other known way to get it. Note that your eyes have tear ducts that lead down to your nose too, so quit touching your damn face.

>It spreads everywhere and is very contagious, but doesn't have a high mortality rate for anyone that isn't a boomer or already immunocompromised in some way. The quarantines are mostly to stop it from spreading like AIDS in Africa. Only a small portion of the population are actually at risk from it in any meaningful way.

>It blocks the lungs with mucus that hardens up and makes it so you can't breathe. Healthy individuals usually don't have much of an issue clearing their airways, but old boomers do. The doctors working on it have recommended drinking only warm things if you think you have it to help break things up, avoid drinking cold Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

Prevention:

>Wear disposable gloves wherever/whenever you can in public venues. Non-disposable also work, just make sure you clean them ASAP with a good detergent or soak them in some disinfectant, but this should only be something to do if you can't get ahold of some latex or nitrile latex gloves.

>Don't shake hands. Avoid open hand contact as much as possible, using your fist or knuckle only for buttons and switches. Same with opening doors unless there's no other way to open it.

>Don't fucking touch your face if you've touched public stuff. The holes in your face are the main places it gets in. Wear a mask or scarf if you have to to block your fingers.

>Use disinfectant wipes on fucking everything. Take advantage of any being offered in stores for public use to wipe stuff down on the spot. Hands, handles, shopping cart handles and seats. Don't take more than what you need so other people can do the same and not spread it to you.

>Same with hand sanitizer. Make sure it's 60% alcohol or more so it actually kills shit. Keep some at every entrance of the house and in your vehicle to use when you can't wash your hands right away. Use it any time you go outside in places other people have been, especially if you had to touch stuff.

>Wash your hands 10-20 seconds with soap. Do this before you go out, when you get home, before you eat, and after you use the toilet. I dunno why some people don't do this anyway.

>Cough/sneeze into disposable tissues and throw them into trash bins. Use your elbow only if you don't have a tissue available since the shit can survive on clothes for up to a week. Most detergents will kill it, so if necessary you can strip and throw your clothes in the wash then take a shower if you want to do a full purge after coming home. Don't forget to disinfect your keys, door handles and light switches, though.

>Stay the length about a man's height away from other people, 1-2m or around 3-6ft. That social distancing thing they keep going on about.

>Eat well and stay Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

Can I get big and buff doing just bodyweight exercises? I'm thinking something kind of like this guy except maybe more muscular. I want to stay close to my current size but while being more buff and having less of a gut. Do I need to lift with dumbbells to have muscles that look huge?

You will not get huge unless you leave humanity behind. It's simply not possible. Calisthenics are limited by your body mass and whatever stack of books you put on your back/chest/shoulders. Weights will get you to the same point in a quarter of the time that calisthenics will, and calisthenics have an exponential decay that's much faster than weights. All calisthenics are good for is passing military physicals, and maintaining bare minimum musculature when you have zero access to equipment such as during a pandemic or when in prison.

Only way you'll get like that guy doing calisthenics is with roids, unless of course you're bigger than thin and want to slowly get down to his size

Short answer - no.

To develop such physique, you have to do heavy work, but only with small bursts of high power. You will also have to go for a dirty bulk and pop some Ukrainian vitamin B6. There is no way to simulate those sort of conditions with your own body weight. You will gradually become stronger and more toned, meaning that you will be able to do more work, because, for example, 30 push ups will be a child's play to you, hence, you will do more push ups, to get that burn, which then will strain your muscles more for endurance, rather than power, and your muscle cross section will not increase, but it's density will increase.

I did calisthenics for one summer, just for shits and giggles with a buddy. You will develop grip strength, get slightly wider back, gain a bit on your arms and stabilise your core. Downside is that there's just no way to work on your legs sufficiently, and you have to do loads of chest work, to compensate for only working on your back every day.

Basically no. You can sprint, plyometrics in general, Overcoming Gravity, etc but it won't be enough. If you have the mindset of a twice convicted violent murderous thug that kills with his bear hands then maybe – point being that if your mind makes you produce the necessary hormones every day most every hour then yeah, you're good.

If you don't have the mind of a psychopathic caveman or wild predatory animal then it won't work. You can of course, after getting a feel for it, get the hormone side of things without the cavepsycho animal. Good luck.

And eat onions.

Absolutely not. I made that mistake in the past. Here's what happened.

I had a 405 squat at this time, and I was getting tired of leg day, since it took me so long, about 1.5 to 2 hours, since I'm training for strength. Cardio workouts don't take so long, so I tried doing 20 minutes of high intensity cardio on the eliptical on the highest resistance option, since I thought that would be the best for strenght. I would do that for two months. I tried doing squats one day to see where my progress went, and I couldn't even squat 335, so the most weight I could workout with was 315. It felt absolutely horrible, and I'm still recovering from it four months later. I might check if I can do 405 again today, but I'm not certain if I'll succeed. This really sucks, because I hit 405 all the way back in August, and had I not made that stupid mistake with cardio for two months, I would probably be squatting somewhere between 465 and 485 by now.

Here's a video of my 405 squat back in August.

Your physiological specializations generalized or dual spec'd. It's better to be good at multiple things with a very very solid specialization. I'd do what the anon above you does if you're going for top applicability of strength and fitness – if you're going for strength, I'd still do split squats, jump or box squats, front squats and sprints. There's really no reason not to do them. I have to wonder at the biological adaptations required to improve back squat but do poorly in running, sprinting, split squats and jump squats.

Your 'base' just doesn't seem strong. You're overly specialized. You might be able to succeed by focusing on your specialization, but at what cost? Maybe there's some adaptation that occurs at 500+ lbs that removes the drawbacks and lets you train in other ways and it improves your specialization of the back squat or at least doesn't hinder it – but I don't know. How's your squat stamina? Can you do 20 reps of 50% of your max? How about 60%? Can you do 20 reps of 225 lbs? High strength specialists tend to have low capillary count in their muscles; lower than untrained individuals even. Perhaps the biking added capillaries that tend to burst when you lift heavy and your body is throttling itself so you don't get a blood clot that goes to the brain and kills you?

If that is the case, I recommend strengthening these capillaries to prevent their bursting. How? I'd say, higher volume squats and a variety of high intensity exercises. As well: wear a weight vest when walking about, or go for a hike with a pack/weight vest of 60 - 100 lbs and they will definitely strengthen. Plyometrics such as box jumps should help the most in the least time. Cholesterol repairs arterial walls, so eat plenty of eggs.

Training for endurance will compromise your strength, and training for strength will compromise your endurance to an extent, but the more muscle you have, the more endurance you ultimately have, even if you don't train for endurance. Cardio is a known-killer of muscle. Low intensity steady state, or LISS cardio, is the only thing you should do for losing fat, since anything close to high intensity will just begin to tear down your muscle.

Oi /fit/, you are half about health right ? Not just about Zyzz and Tiny of the month right ?

There is this bullshit that has been bugging me for a while around this whole virus thing. For years I have seen the eastern method of spraying stuff with disinfectant at random, now I see attempts of the same in the west.

How the fuck is spraying the asphalt street a meaningful reaction to a virus outbreak ? I get spraying an airplane maybe, or a place where people gather, but the street ?

Looks to me like most of this group spraying is the chinks pretending they have an idea of what they are doing.

Maybe if we assume the virus can get into dirt and the wind blows it in your face, but so far all reports talk about the virus surviving long only on non-porous material such as metal and plastic.

I have friends praising the chinks for spraying the streets like street cleaners and I can't help but feel surrounded by retards.

What is your take on this ?

They try to starve the sickness out by quarantining all sick people. For this to work the places between the healthy people and sick people have to be free of the virus.

Yeah, that has also been bugging me, shouldn't the priority be in spraying the things where people put their hands? as in tables, or handle bars, etc.

The virus does not survive long term in dust/non-porous substances and etc. So I don't really understand why anyone but a frightened soccermom would spray everything with disinfectant.

Hello fit, Im trying to create a simple program and I thought I might get some opinions from you guys.

Ive been lifting for 5ish years now and I want to change to a new program that I made myself

My previous program looked like this

A:

3x5 Flat bench

3x6-9 DB Incline bench press

3x5 military press

3x6-9 DB press

3x10 tricep push downs

B:

3x5 squat

3x8 lat pull downs

3x6-7 pull ups, last set is to failure

3x6 heavy shrugs

4 sets of holding really heavy bar for forearm workout

I trained for ABxABxx. Ive done this for 4 years

Now I want to change it to →

A:

Benchpress - 75%RMx5, 85%RMx5, 90%RMx3, 80%RMx5, 70%RMx5+

Military press - 75%RMx5, 85%RMx4-5, 95%RMx2, 80%RMx5+

Pull ups - 3xF

Dips - 3x15-20

B:

Squats - same as with Bench press format

Deadlift - same as with bench press format(I alernate squate and DLs, basically i only do either once a week)

DB rows - 3x10(go heavy)

heavy shrugs 4x6-9

pull ups and dips

A B x A B x x

How doesmy new training program look? I really want an experienced lifter's opinion on this one, you might add or take and give some insights. Would Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

1-3 is ugly to unattractive.

A 1/10 is the ugliest person you see out of at least 200. They are either morbidly obese, or obese with some sort of major facial deformity. 2s are both obese with a minor facial deformity or severely obese. 3s are either obese or they have some sort of very noticeable facial deformity.

4-7 is attractive to fairly attractive.

None of these people stick out, and they are all pleasant to look at. 4s and 5s might not look too healthy and may be a bit skinny or even underweight, but at least they aren't obese and/or have any noticeable facial deformities, but they don't tend to put in any decent effort into looking attractive, with all 4s being what you would naturally consider below-average-looking, but not yet unattractive. 6s and 7s all look healthy and look like they put some effort into keeping up with their looks to actively attract others, with 7s being on the cusp of being highly attractive, but not yet possessing any special qualities regarding their looks.

8-10 are highly attractive to shockingly stunning.

There is something special about their looks. They put in a lot of effort into fitness, and their faces are flawless. They are a rare type of attractive. A 10/10 is going to be the most stunning person out of at least 200 people if not much more. They look so close to perfect, that they tend to draw attention to themselves in a similar way to a Ferrari. There is some shockingly sexy quality about their looks that is extremely rare among people.

Obviously, how good someone looks is a bit difficult to quantify, but this should serve as a decent general guide. This guide should be good for people up to the age of 45, beyond that, most people won’t find you sexually attractive unless they have a specific fetish, or unless they’re after your money.
