Deadlifting

I don't understand why people use a mixed over/underhand grip, why not just train double-overhand (snatch) until your grip catches up with your posterior chain?

For that matter, why don't we all just get FatGripz and deadlift with them until our grips catch up enough to use them to pull the previous weights and simply do maintenance on posterior chain until forearms catch up?

Isn't getting a pump and lots of vascularity in forearms/wrists what will protect us against carpal tunnel narrowing? Inflammation can't die down without blood supply to carry antiinflammatories away.

I don't hate mixed grip. I used it for years, too. I just wanted to stress my grip more. It was falling behind. So I switched. Never had much of a problem. And I deadlift sets of >500#.

I tried not showering my head with shampoo for around a month, anon. I only "cleaned" it by showering it with hot water and by scratching my hair using my fingers and nails. I used the hot water to make it less oily. The thing is, after a while, lots of dandruff started forming and falling down, and my hair started smelling bad. Do you know what I did wrong?

Don't shower with hot water, tepid or cold water is better. Hot water washes off most of your oils and dries out your skin. Brush your scalp with a brush everyday. That will keep it clean from flakes and oil build up.

Here is the best body and hair routine that works for the average man:

1. Rinse yourself in a shower with cool or tepid (not heated) water everyday, especially after a sweaty workout or job, with no soap or shampoo.

2. Brush your scalp with a brush everyday, combing your hair afterwards. (This includes your beard, pubes, and armpits. Consider having at least two brushes or washing thoroughly between uses.)

3. Eat a healthy and balanced diet, avoid excessively greasy or sugary foods. Avoid sodas, smoking, coffee, tea, and overconsuming milk or dairy.

4. Get an hours worth of outdoor time every day (in the sun preferably).

5. Workout regularly.

6. Shower once a week with shampoo and soap. Do not use heated water or a scrub brush, but use a wash cloth and work top-down.

7. Clean behind and around the inside of your ear(not going into the earhole), your belly button, and your foreskin often with a q-tip (every day or every other day).

8. Floss and rinse with saltwater everyday. Only do this outside 30 minutes of eating. If your breath smells particularly bad, gargle and rinse with mouthwash and check for tonsil stones.

9. Brush your teeth once a week. Brushing too often weakens the natural yellow enamel. Not brushing at all causes plaque build up and allows enamel to become an unsightly yellow. Healthy balance is about a week if your diet has been healthy and you don't smoke or drink sodas/coffee, but this is variable. Only brush outside 30 minutes of eating. Rinse and gargle with mouthwash.

10. Take a hot salt bath once a month. Good for aches and for your skin. Reccomend doing it the Japanese way (do a quick wash in a shower, not a shampoo/soap wash, then run a hot bath). Substitute your usual weekly shampoo shower with this instead.

Couple of steps I forgot;

18. Sleep on a regular schedule, eat on s regular schedule. 6-8 hours a night is fine. Any more or less and you will mess up your entire body.

19. Drink water often and regularly. Your piss should be a faint yellow.

20. Find a healthy and productive way to manage stress. Some adopt weightlifting or a sport, others enjoy games or crafts working or music. If you work a physically active job, look for something that is passive to do that helps you recoup. If you work a passive job, look for something active that works you out.

21. Workout regularly and stretch regularly.

The holistic approach is the best start. By eliminating all regular issues, then can you move forward and assess exceptional issues. By following these, you can observe how your body behaves in a more "natural" state free from as much "artificial" tampering. Live this for a year, and make adjustments afterwards.

Also >>149211, don't scratch your scalp with your nails. That makes it worse. Rub gently yet firmly. I wouldn't have lost as much hair early in my life if I had just been more gentle.

Hey, /fit/.

I've been on a journey to get a body that won't disgust me whenever I glance over a mirror, for at least 2 years or more.

I have gotten to the point where I can do the traditional lifts properly without any problems whatsoever, the thing is this, I have not improved my physique nor my strenght by much. I have lost weight, at least 10 kilos, but that was in the first year of my journey.

Now I am starting to believe that I will not get out of skinny-fat hell without a golden diet. The problem is that I can't get much money nor much food due to the shitfest that is the currency of my country.

If anybody with the same problem could give some advice in terms of diet and money management, it would be appreciated.

Also Diet thread, I suppose.

TL;DR

I am a poorfag and I don't want to be skinny-fat anymore. Give me a good, but cheap, diet.

Serious question boys. How do you avoid tendon ruptures on steroids? As we know, muscle get bigger and stronger on a cycle enormously fast while tendons cannot keep up with them (not talking bullshit like "roids decrease collagen synthesis" since in fact collagen synthesis decreases heavily with andropause and low testosterone). To start with, what are safe strength increases in a mid-rep range?

No cycle: +X kg per month.

Amateur cycle (350-500 mg/week): +X+?% per month?

Adverse effects of roids are well-known and preventable. Mostly these are liver problems if you're dumb enough to use oral 17-alpha shit, estradiol/prolactin tits if you're a complete retard, prostate enlargement if you cannot into controlling DHT and, the very topic of this thread - possible tendon ruptures in case of you adding plates too fast. Basically, in my country only two steroid drugs are banned (methandrostenolone & nandrolone decanoate), I agree with that ban since they are the most risky among all common stuff.

Yeah, ok, I get that. Which category do YOU fall in?

Personally, I have to inject for TRT already so orals are out, I have to control E2 already because of the TRT. This is the first I have heard of controlling DHT, but ideally, I'd use a compound that doesn't aromatize. I'm surprised deca is banned in your country, doesn't seem that awful, except the seriously long half life.

Deca is a good muscle builder, but it's tricky as hell for most dumbass users - with low androgenic activity, prolactin issues etc.

That's been already mentioned twice - I'm afraid of tendon ruptures. Especially since using training to failure routine.

over here women find manliness attractive being tall and fit = pussy magnet.

the effect is even more more dramatic because there is virtually no copetition as most men are short, skinny and don't take care of themselves.

Nice try OP you know the rules tits or gtfo.

But yes you are chubby, especially in the face where it's the worse, lose weight until you hit 22-17% body fat, you're a woman so you have to worry infinitely less than men about hormones and muscle building, remember to focus on squats for building the hips and butt as much as possible, lower body and pelvis area should ideally be the center of mass for a woman. Do this and you'll be 7/10 in no time.

How do I eat more? I’m 6ft 135lbs and trying to bulk up. My diet is healthy but I just can’t seem to eat enough even though I’m never hungry. I run every morning and do body weight training for about an hour each day. I make sure to eat only protein, carbs, and veggies/fruits. Every couple of hours I’m munching on something. I’ve gained 5lbs the past couple weeks doing this but I feel like I should be gaining more.

stop eating vegetables and fruit and replace it with GOMAD and a fat bloody red steak, don't believe this bullshit cookie cutter trash >>148897 , you are severly underweight I weighed more than you in 8th grade and I'm 6 ft, do the big 3, at least 3 times a week with progression if you really want to stay lean just do HIIT twice a week, but continue to eat big.

>don't believe this bullshit cookie cutter trash

You're going to need to back up your assertions if you want to tell someone to ignore conventional fitness and /fit/ standard bulking advice. Anything asserted with no evidence or argumentation can be rejected without evidence or argumentation.

>do the big 3, at least 3 times a week with progression

So the standard bulk caloric advice is somehow cookie cutter bullshit, but this isn't? Nice mental gymnastics. You don't know what the fuck you're talking about, and I say that as someone who was underweight my whole life and had to bulk from 6 foot 1.5 inches at 158 pounds.

> if you really want to stay lean just do HIIT twice a week

Well done. "Don't listen to the other guy you need more than +3500 kcal a week but wait if you want to stay lean you need to burn more calories." Contradictory. You cannot put on muscle faster, all you're telling him to do is stack on extra fat by eating more than he should because he's underweight. You aren't going to "stay lean" by doing HIIT while hitting a +5-7k weekly surplus, that makes zero logical sense. There's no reason to take such advice.

Eat more fat, salt and red meat. Look up the vertical diet dumbass. Fuck off with supplements and the running. Get under a barbell and do something simple like strong lifts 5x5. You only need to lift 3 days a week to put a shitload of muscle on your skinny ass frame.

I am 5'11" and used to be 135 pounds. I'm now 160. I look slim, but toned and not rail thin. Most people here might not be impressed but I look and feel a lot better. I don't necessarily advocate my routine or diet because I'm not an expert, and people have probably rightly criticized it. But I'll share what I've done:

Breakfast (2 eggs, toast and peanut butter, banana, protein shake)

Lunch: Sand which, raw vegetables

Snacks at work: Apple, peanuts, wheat crackers

Dinner: Basically meat, potato, vegetable.

I lift Tues, Thurs, Sat, and Sun. I lift 30 minutes for sure on Tues and thurs, but on weekend I sometimes go for an hour. I have to watch my back though so I don't really push too hard. Other days I run or jump rope.

Some of the foods I just eat because I like them. My goal was never get to huge, but just not look weak and thin.

Lifting, protein shake, more snacks, and bigger breakfast helped. The bigger breakfast makes me feel better mentally in the morning. I like snacking during work because it helps me get through the day.

One problem I've had is, like you, I'm never rarely ever hungry. I would be fine with never snacking. If I eat too much at a meal, I get a stomach ache. So I try to eat snacks. But even though I get sick if I eat too much. I've tried adding peanut butter to the protein shakes. Some people say the shakes aren't good for you, but I feel that they helped me.

So i've been working out for almost a year and been taking it seriously for 3 months now.

I'm not overweight (178cm, 78kg) and although I get winded rather quick, i'm not terribly out of shape (still working on that).

Here's the problem:

Everytime I work out I am simply soaked in sweat. To a degree where I'm literally dripping.

Even riding my bike for 10 minutes has this effect. I'm not out of breath, but I'm fucking soaked.

This applies to normal life as well. I can walk in the snow barefoot, but a bit of sun makes me sweat uncontrollably.

What the fuck. I live in northern Germany and I don't want to change my shirt 3 times a day in the summer.

/fit/ pls help.

>Inb4 wear deodorant

I do. Should I rub it in my hair or what?!

Good to know there are at least some other people with the same problem… if nothing works, I'll just always carry a big jug of water and a new shirt with me.

If the whole climate change stuff turns out true though, we'll be in for one heck of a time!
