Should I be heavier?

bw 150 - 420/280/220 for main lifts

That sounds pretty impressive for a newbie lifter of 1 1/2 years (counting corona maintenance) but I want more. It feels like I just don't have enough sheer muscle mass to move more weight and what muscle mass I have is already at my genetic max for strength. It's like a mental barrier

Prolly just stupid plateau fatalism and broscience. Anyone got some real facts to get my through bench day tomorrow?

You should get your squat up to your deadlift, and your bench up to 315, then add 5 lbs of muscle.

You need to change up your routine. Do you do power cleans? Military press? Sprint? Do you train wrist curls and extensions, and pronation, suppination? You should do asymmetric deadlifts, 'shovel lifts', rack pulls, and an exercise where you hold the barbell just off the ground in deadlift position for an extended period of time, say 2 minutes- using 95 lbs to start out with if you lack endurance. Once a week do the Supersquat method - 20 reps 1 set, heavy as fuck. Isometrics are important as well. You do rotator cuff work? Face pulls? Pull ups? Reverse pseudo-planche? Ab wheel? Cable wood choppers? Do you do throws (sandbag, keg)? Long distance carries (shoulder carry, yoke stand, vest, farmer's carry, one or more of)? The long distances carries and asymmetric lifts are a big one.

Check out Rock, Iron, Steel by Steve Justa.

150 is underweight. pump up to 200lbs at least. dunno how tall you are but even if you're 5' 8" i'd still shoot for 225 or higher. you've also got a massive discrepancy between what im assuming is your deadlift and squat. its not unusual for a 40 or so lbs difference but 140lbs is just ridiculous. either your form is bad or you're not trying hard enough on it and need to gain weight

I personally get more of a pump from lifting heavier weights, so I just cut it to 5 reps (3 sets) so I can lift 2x heavier weights.

For you, it's about comparing yourself to yourself; not about someone who has been lifting for 3 years straight and tries to poke fun out of a sense of insecurity.

I want to look more like this person. At the moment I am much larger and need to get skinny. I already diet and I keep myself to a strict maximum of 1500 calories a day. The problem I need to get over now is that I don't move very much. I already lived a very sedentary lifestyle but now because of Covid I have even less reason to ever get out and walk around. I've been trying to get into running as a way to make myself more active but I hate it with a burning passion. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for how to enjoy running instead of hating every moment.

Running is a physically intensive exercise that is going to elevate your heart rate and be uncomfortable. You need to embrace that uncomfortable feeling and learn to like it. If you can't do that then go on really long walks like an hour a day. I enjoy hiking in the wilderness and exploring my neighborhood.

Try a running program for beginners like c25k. Something ez that doesn't frustrate you too much.

And look into how to build habits, you can add positive reinforcements/make the activity easier and other bad choices harder… Try listening to a badass playlist or (if ur on a treadmill) watching a new series.

When you run your body releases endorphins/dopamine and prolly you'll notice this effect eventually, this will help you to stick to it. In my case it has made me crave running on rest days.

Whilst I really like >>150787, you're missing an important point: A lot of people who run don't enjoy it. I have always hated running and always will, but there are times when I "have" to.

Ultimately it comes down to you choosing what's more important to you.

Hey anons, do anyone around here practices meditation?

I wanted to share some experience, and keep this to motivate myself as well.

I've used to do some light meditation some long time ago, a practice that easily falls to the sideline.

And recently through some rough patches I've been feeling like nervous train wreck and I've felt the call to practice it once again.

tl;dr: meditation is about listening in to nothingness, shutting down that annoying little part of our consciousness that complains and bitches about everything, namely, anxiety, anger, fear.

So I'm gonna post some resources, as I've said these are mostly for myself, but feel free to take value, and to contribute in any way you can as well.

To get back into the habit, it's easier to do in the morning than in the evening when you're worn out mentally. That and it makes your whole day clearer. I'm sure you know about the whole 21 days = habit idea, but you'll also have to prevent your "friends" and "family" from brainwashing you into quitting. Just don't talk to your loser friends about improving yourself, and they should stop having an influence on you when it comes to these things.

I'm on the full rollar work out and it's doing wonders.

Basically you attach Rollars to each limb and try to make your way around at least 4 city blocks, for me it's fairly decent but I often have to do push flexes (Where you move more like a dog than a horse in your four legged rollar moves)

You got this but do not make the same mistake I did when trying to lift and Rollar. TAKE THEM OFF YOUR HANDS FIRST. I only made this mistake once but will never forget.

I've finally started losing some seriously garbage weight I've had on my body for a long time through daily cardio, but my former musclemass in my arms and shoulders is gone and also my libido fell off a fucking cliff and when I do get erect I can tell it isn't as long or as hard as usual, I can't get off to anything even things that normally arouse me. Shouldn't it be the other way around? Has too much cardio made me healthier but lowered my T? How do I get my big biceps and shoulders back?

Gyms have been closed for me for over half a year and I picked up running so that I have some physical exercise to do + it's good for the heart. I can relate to not having raging rock hard erections and im happy that im not the only one seeing this awkward pattern. Extended periods of running and decreased T is in fact scientifically related but it absolutely shouldnt be so significant to the point where you consider putting off this form of exercise. From the reaserch ive done I can conclude that my decreased T is a result of both running and mainly my diet. Social interaction isnt something to be considered because talking to a woman isnt the same as sex altough sometimes it might seem like it. In conclusion I would recommend looking in to your diet and implementing foods and vitamins that may stabilize your T levels because purely running isnt plumetting your T or sex drive.

I read something about endurance running lowering T level and increasing some stress hormone level. Unfortunately that's all I remember and I can't provide a source but it's out there to be found…

I have problems like you described, when I don't get enough protein/good food. Less when having extra portion oats in the morning.

I stopped doing more than one long run per week some time ago, mainly because I fell in love with cycling but also because I found sprints, uphill or stairs, to be more effective in building strength. I also feel more "pushed"/"aggressive" afterwards in comparison to the more tranquilizing runners high.

For the upper body - handstand, push-ups, dips, pull-ups.

Maybe of help:

nofap is the most braindead retarded shit on this planet

as if ignoring your natural urges and suppressing them will lead to any sort of benefits

all it does is teach you not to trust yourself, not to act on harmless natural urges and listen to authority rather then be independent

theres a reason nofap is only popular with far right schizos

>Suppression of the natural sexuality in the child, particularly of its genital sexuality, makes the child apprehensive, shy, obedient, afraid of authority, good and adjusted in the authoritarian sense; it paralyzes the rebellious forces because any rebellion is laden with anxiety; it produces, by inhibiting sexual curiosity and sexual thinking in the child, a general inhibition of thinking and of critical faculties. In brief, the goal of sexual suppression is that of producing an individual who is adjusted to the authoritarian order and who will submit to it in spite of all misery and degradation. Initially, the child has to submit to the structure of the authoritarian miniature state, the family, which process makes it capable of later subordination to the general authoritarian system. The formation of the authoritarian structure takes place through the anchoring of sexual inhibition and anxiety.

Is rest a necessary requirement for gains/growth?

Or is it okay to not take 3 days off? I ask "3" because I usually hear people say 4 on 3 off. I like to do 5 of 7 in a week with the two off days just randomly interspersed when I can't get off my lazy ass.

Also. I'm a newfag to /fit/ in general;

How long should it take to see big gains in bench press?

I'm a weakfag and only did 6 sets of 95 yesterday. Could likely do a set of 110-115? if I started with just that and was done.

set = 12 reps

How quickly could I reasonably expect to hit 150 pounds from 95lbs?

Rest is really important.

I really love training, like I fuckin love going to the gym and seeing my buddies and pumping iron. I have to make myself take days off, though, because training every day will definitely set you back… you get sore, but more importantly, you get weak.

I have found that only training legs twice a week (one day for bar squats, another day for everything else - various machine presses, etc) actually gives me more gains than an every-other-day approach. Same with upper body. Really the only thing I do every gym session is abs, and that's to keep my back healthy more than anything.

Everybody is different, but for me personally, two days of legs and two days of upper body (big compound movements that hit multiple big muscles) and really giving it your all is much more effective than a half-ass daily workouts.

Rest days can include walks and biking - I usually do my cardio on "rest" days. Just no weights.

tl;dr: rest is just as important (if not more) than training.

Contrary to popular belief you do not gain muscle at all when you are working out. You only gain muscle during the recovery period. I advise that you stretch after your workout and take the Wim Hofs course if you want to accelerate your muscle gain.

Kind of unrelated post, but I didn't know where else to ask. I'm 18 and I want to purchase testosterone online (without prescription = illegally) to start off with small doses until I can get an endo to assess me. I'm particularly looking for testosterone gel, not injections or patches. I know it's dangerous, but I really want to do it. Can you give me any links to good markets? Can be clearnet or darknet, I don't care.

Go fuck yourself you fucking degenerate you're a goddamn perversion of nature. Why the fuck do you want to be a dude? You do realize right that when you become a guy you will be literally on the rock fucking bottom of the sociohierarchical totem pole. As a guy you'll be a fucking 0/10, no one will take you seriously, no one will have any sort of attraction to you, you'll be viewed as weak/effeminate/weird, and you're life will go to shit. Do you have any fucking idea how much harder it is to be a man than a woman in the modern era? Sure you may feel like you've done something positive however when you start to realize how much better you had it as a woman is when the suicidal thoughts will creep into your mind until they become unwanted, constant, compulsive thoughts with the only out come being death. The moment you start to permanently turn yourself into a dude is the moment you sign your death warrant. I hope you kill yourself. I fucking hate trannies it's unreal.

Check on Google. I also think Planned Parenthood helps you with HRT.
