I've always wanted to know, and I really hope there isn't an answer. It's a mystery I hope stayed unanswered. Does anyone know?

Likely not, but there are some sources that still say they're rodent-like, and the novels, plus the Racer Revenge game, say they're ugly when naked. However most sources also say they're like devolved humans, and we know what their ancestors looked like which were basically humanoids with flat noses and black eyes, so its safe to say they probably look more human-like than that picture, but the possibility of buck teeth or fur may still be likely. They may also look like maskless tusken raiders but with fur or buck teeth.

What's the sauce on that unmasked tusken? Its pretty accurate to what can be made out of the unmasked tuskens seen in the Dark Forces II game, except the ones there had gray skin, but one can simply attribute that to different skin colors based on tribal isolation or unique diets and whatnot. Anyway I always wanted to see an unmasked tusken in high def, so this really is a nice surprise. Thanks.

The acting is pretty weak, but this actually feels more like Classic and EU Star Wars than anything Disney has made. Hell I enjoyed that more than anything by disnye.

I thought that was just the lighting being dark. Rewatching it, I guess that actually is the color of the costumes- given that they have guards with red armor in an earlier scene. I suppose it actually could be Shadow guards, though they didn't seem to have the saberstaffs.

Practically anything would be better than the disney trilogy and solo, so it really isn't surprising.

Hell no. If anything they'll shut it down if it gains too much traction and they see that the guy's patreon is going up too high. Also this version of Vader is too close to his EU incarnation than his Disney/Marvel incarnation so they'd never let this in.

 No.25678 [Open Thread][Last 50 Posts][Watch Thread][Show All Posts]

Issue 8: Sheev attempts to teach Vader a lesson, to use his emotions, but to use them wisely. He warns Vader against letting himself be controlled by his feelings, otherwise his lessers will become his masters.

Issue 10: Vader doesn't heed Sheev's lesson. He allows Jocasta Nu to make him mad. First she exposes that he's Anakin Skywalker to the clones (whom he kills as a result), and then she taunts him of Sheev wanting to train other students. As a result, he loses himself in his feelings and does exactly what Jacosta Nu wanted of him: to kill her, so she can't expose her secrets to Sheev, and even to destroy the knowledge on force sensitive children. A weak old lady, Vader's lesser in every way, became his master. Sheev's warning made manifest.

This is one of the best mini-arcs we've had, let's be honest. I really like how the relationship between Sheev and Vader is being portrayed, here. In the EU, Vader was little more than an emotional bitch with Stockholm Syndrome toward Palpatine. Here we see Sheev and Vader have mutual respect for eachother, and Sheev even treats Vader like a genuine friend, even while maintaining the sharp edge of a Sith by constantly pushing and testing Vader not to grow complacent. Vader has massive flaws, but he's never weak or whiny. He makes mistakes, but he doesn't lose sleep over mustache-twirling evil Emperor doing something that challenges his morals. In fact, in this portrayal we see how Vader is more mindlessly destructive than Sheev is, which makes perfect sense, since Vader still has so much more to learn and ultimately fails at doing so.

I'll just come out and say it. The portrayal of Vader, and Vader's relationship with Sheev, is better in this Marvel comic than it is in the Dark Horse comics.

From what I recall, the first book (Soldier for the Empire) rewrites the backstory slightly so Kyle is a freshly promoted stormtrooper officer when he defects rather than the acomplished veteran that the first game's manual had him be. Kyle is also explicitly a rebel agent working rather than a mercenary hired by the rebels.

The first book also focuses on the first level of Dark Forces (where you steal the Death Star plans), the later two books focus on Dark Forces 2. Overall I'd say they're different enough from the plots of the games with the addition of new scenes involving Jan or Kyle's Dad to justify their existence separate from the games.

Seriously… i don't care, It's Disney fanction. So hard to understand that? Star Wars is a closed fictional universe by now. 30 years of it, so we have material to discuss for a century or more. People still discuss Tolkien even if the guy is dead for almost 50 years by now.

You aren't properly recognizing how dangerous what Disney is doing is. They're rewriting history, rewritingculture, and subverting it for the worse. Star Wars can never be ruined for us, but future generations will be totally turned off to the good George Lucas did, because the amount of trash content from the Mouse will outweigh, and overshadow the real stuff.

By pointing out how terrible the new stuff is, and documenting how it doesn't line up with Lucas' work, we can keep the spirit alive for future generations. I'm ready Expanded Universe material for the first time thanks to this board. Others will no doubt do the same. It's our duty to repudiate the Disney shills and their terrible content.

I never understood the point of these. They're just inferior adaptations. Same thing with movie novelizations (although I know some argue those go more in depth into various topics) but the comics do literally nothing new.

Could someone explain to me why they exist? Seems like a waste of resources that could be going towards telling original stories.

I suppose they just seal the gaps and allow the EU to fully exist as its own entity, separate from the movies. The actual novelizations themselves however, are great companion pieces to the films.

>but the comics do literally nothing new.

Not entirely true. The comics sometimes have scenes based on earlier versions of the script, deleted scenes, CGI that was never animated, footage that was never shot etc. For example, this is noticeable on the Order 66 montage in the ROTS comic.

Anyone else watch the Star Wars Holiday Special around this time of year? I've been doing it as a tradition for two years now, I must say it's quite enjoyable to watch if you enjoy the zaniness and don't take anything seriously (plus it helps to wash out the taste of the New Trilogy). I think itt's kinda cool how it brought a bit of lore into Star Wars so early in it's history (Life Day, Kashyyyk etc.) although I'm sure no one figured they were going to be anything but one-off tidbits at the time.

If this video isn't proof that George knew exactly what he was doing, and the Prequel hating plebs are complete fools, then I don't know what is.

And they'll be kissing JJ's ass again when IX comes out no matter how bad it is. They shat on Rogue One for the same reasons they loved TFA, and then it became clear that their love for TFA was based solely on their boner for JJ.

It's blatantly obvious that Disney studied those videos like a bible, because they thought that was how they would get "the fans" onboard.

I don't even think the Whills are a bad idea. It's a bit out there, sure, but it kind of sounds like a JRPG endgame where the protagonists now have to take on god-like forces and the structure of the universe itself, and that could have been cool. At least it's something new for Star Wars.

Theyre not meant to be antagonistic. We've seen Whills before in Clone Wars, as the four force ladies were implied to be Avatars of the Whills. The Whills are basically sages in the EU who chronicle the history of the galaxy. At best, a villain would have to be a Whills who rebelled and was exiled from its home dimension for its selfish desires since it was influenced by the negative aspects of humanity, thus resulting in it being the truest incarnation of the Dark Side, like The Entity mentioned in SWTOR who is said to be the Dark Side itself. Would match up with the female force priestesses we saw in Filoni's cartoon (despite how much I hated their concept).

It looks more green because OP downloaded the inferior DNR version. The Non-DNR version is still a bit green, the colors are still shit, blacks are crushed into oblivion. still fucking awful any which way you look at it.

>4K77 looks objectively better

The only thing it has going for it is the higher resolution. All a regrade would do is polish a shit print. A regrade would not rectify the black levels. You are totally blind if you can't see how much better SSE is to anything else out currently.

>it's sharper and less grainy than SSE

The DNR version is, but Digital Noise Reduction gets rid of detail inherently. It's bad.

They're bad ass biologists and botanists whose prowess over nature and animal life is only surpassed by the Vong, who use their knowledge for all the wrong reasons. Ithorians are also look awesome and are probably some of the most unique aliens out there. Also Ithor is fucking wonderland of zoology and biodiversity hotspots. And there's plenty of illegal hunting grounds run by non-hippie Ithorians who will let you taste all the big game.
