Fluff/background:

From before history, the people known as the Hemedkhel formed part of a landed, nomadic society that inhabits the region known as the Hemed. Though they are the largest party of this humanoid race, they are far from its sole member. There are seven formally recognized -khel, or clans, each with dozens of familial tribes, -zai, linked by heritage. Some form villages in the mountains and foothills of the area, etching out a semi-sedentary life of pastoralism and farming. Many others wander the steppes and deserts in close-knit nomadic groups, based around herd animals and material goods.

While other nations have consolidated central power and long since industrialized, the Hemedkhel have formed a somewhat anachronistic state: retaining a tribal, semi-nomadic, decentralized political system while adopting (and often adapting) outside technology to their use. One would think these seemingly backwards desert nomads would easily be wiped out by any passing army. But the -khel have three important assets:

First is the terrain, hard to navigate and even harder to control by invaders. The rough, steep mountains and the arid, impassable deserts make for poor civilization-building, allowing the nomads to attack and ambush enemy units before retreating to rougher terrain, and yielding little obvious value to make it worth conquering.

This is the city state of Geniicia. It is wedged between New Stead to the North and Copainska to the South. New Stead is a country where Marijuana is legal and, in the capital, so is prostitution. Security between New Stead and Geniicia is fairly lax but it does exist and it is still a risky business transporting contraband between the two places. Copainska is a poverty stricken country. Many Copainskians flee their homes to make new lives in Geniicia. This illegal immigration as well as Copainskia being the largest producer of most hard drugs has caused security on this border to be extremely strict.

You are about to take control of a gang from their very beginning. It is your job to lead this gang through the good times and the bad. Jazz music has become incredibly popular amongst the Geniicians and Art Deco is at its peak. Women are just now being able to vote for the leader of this city state and the revolutionary coloured talkie is about to hit the big screen with the home radio only being about a year old. The medical world is being revolutionized too. The invention of antibiotics and baind-aids helping many ill people. With all this great stuff also comes something that has hit people. Prohibition has caused many to become cynical at the world but could it be a new business opportunity?

Dressed in derby or tophats and long coats, these old-fashioned criminals might appear comical, but those on the receiving end of their crimes can hardly find their actions a laughing matter; extortion, money laundering, running political machines, the Dastards alternate between a frighteningly efficient criminal organization with a petty side streak, using their powers to shut down public services and make the lives of the lower classes that protest against them miserable, as well as the occasionaly tying those that look at them wrong to a train track.

Welcome to Accelia, a world under siege. For untold millenia the magical world of Accelia lay unsullied by advanced technology, industry, and(major)warfare. The massive continents surround a truly gigantic whirlpool of water that never ceases its spin, constantly refreshing the water of the ocean. The natives of Accelia lived their lives in relative piece under the ever watchful eyes of the rulers of the land, the Elven Matriarchy. The Elves are masters of magic, namely the females who possess extraordinary magical and physical prowess conpared to even male elves. With their great numbers and skill they ruled the world with soft palm that could become an iron fist without delay.

That was until the day the Terran republic came to the world. Out of the whirlpool they came, with ships of steel and floating islands of metal. Eleven million humans armed with weapons that could annihalate steel, armor unbreakable by ordinary weapons, and with large metal ships capable of wiping out enemies from miles away. Their goal was unquestionable, the complete takeover of Accelia.

The invasion should have been swift, and for a time it was. The humans conquered Omaris, Edelmid, and Angmorl in under two months with little issue. But then they encountered the Matriarchy, and what shouldve been an extremely easy invasion turned into a grinding war. Elves took more than a few shots to kill unarmored, were strong enough to easily kill an unarmored human, and their magical ability gave them the ability enchant their armor and weapons to the point they could withstand the heavy fire they were forced to charge under, and their blades were able to slice through the superior Powered Armor of soldiers.

Its been one whole year and no ground has been gained by either side ever since the dramatic failure of the defense on Augh-chass by the Terran Military. The war goes on, and as the humans research a way to circumvent elf magic the elves grow ever more numerous.

You could be human, you could be elven, you could even be a creation of either side or something else entirely. In the end its up to you.

>Fluff: Something that always seemed odd to me is the schedule of the army. I spent half a year in the frozen wasteland of Minnesota, going through normal training. Survival, shooting, knife throwing, simulated atomic weapons, normal stuff for infantry. They expect about 75% failure rate during this. Most guys will end up getting taken out or dropping, joining an easier outfit. After six months of sweating it out, then you get injected with whatever concoctions the professor types can come up with. Some folk can't handle the drugs, something about their endocrine system rejecting the implants. I'm not so sure about the specifics, ask one of the sawbones if you're really interested in the process. All I know is I have a few extra parts and set off metal detectors. Then came another year of training, getting back up to fighting strength. You get all your bones replaced, and tell me how long it takes to get back to normal. Would've been quicker to just get the surgeries at the beginning, but then you'd have a bunch of guys capable of crushing cinderblocks running around as civvies.

Anyway, once they juice you up and shove the organs in, then comes the fun part. Not the recuperation, though that is a nice bit of rest. We spend the month on tactics and on sims, one of the things they put in us making it so we only need a few hours a day to sleep. After the R&R, we get issued our suits. Custom made, form fitted, and strong enough that we can snap a gorilla in two with a hug. The jump jets take some getting used to, but with a year to practice, we all got pretty good. The guns they gave us could kill a man with a single shot, and I'm not talking about the bullet. The recoil can pulverize normal human bones. I've never had to do it personally, but you can use them to steer a small ship in space. Depending on the mission, we can get some interesting toys.

>Fluff: Born deep within the ancient Ley forested hills in northern Darnali, Ashura is a part of a group of several tribes that have lived there in peace for ages. Forced into a peace long ago, the Daemon clans live in relative silence, surviving off the land by themselves. They've all but forgotten there, content to ponder the more philosophical questions in pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. Ashura was born into the head Amaterasu Clan, but unlike the rest of his kind, he was born blind and so there was some bullying of him amongst his peers. Although the clan did not tolerate this, children were not taught the way of peace yet and from this bully Ashura sought a different path. Forging a weapon and set of armor from dusty, long unused scrolls, Ashura moved towards enlightenment through the path of war. Instead of learning the stoic arts like the rest of his clan, Ashura followed instruction from ancient scrolls and forged his own style of inner peace(and combat style), his blindness actually heightening his innate "World View" and senses. He learned to use his mana to increase his strength, intelligence, and capabilities to beyond what was normal for a Daemon or Elf even and using these new skills he noticed a strange sight upon the coast. He could "see" a shape, but instead of being of the magic flowing through them, he could see the outline of magic flowing around shapes with NO mana at all floating across the water on what was assumed to be some sort of ship. He sensed killing intent from these enigma and after notifying his clan of this update, vowed to find out what was happening in the world and make sure that the balance would be restored if needed. He received approval, but while they had known peace for so long and assumed him to do what was "right", Ashura was of mind to test his new style he dubbed "Angra Mainyu" style and make his people a force to be needed, not forgotten.

Little is known of the man known solely as the Unslain’s past. Most that is known, is heavily classified. [Redacted] years ago, a man entered an experimental training program run by [Redacted] designed to make the ultimate human weapon to counter the elfish “magics”. This program trained him in use of any and every known weapon, injected him with complex nanomachines, known as nanites, which could heal any wound, and to test them, literally ripped him apart. The result: A man without death, who feared no pain. The only side effect was his skin, which now was completely white, save a view of his muscles through a hole in the skin on the center of his chest.

Knowing this person could be a threat if he went rouge, [Redacted] wiped his memories, and replaced them with new ones, making him more loyal to their cause. For a long time, he was used as the perfect attack dog, dropped into places, killing everything there, then after extraction, having his mind wiped and put back into his imaginary life. He killed, and captured, many elves for Terran experiments during this time. Unfortunately, sometimes dogs are set loose.

One man, who worked on the original team, disliked what was being done by the project to the elves, and on the Unslain’s most recent mission, kidnaped him, and explained what had been happening, removing the false memories from his brain. Leaving that lab, now alone, the Unslain travels, seeking some worthy cause to serve, and taking care of anyone who gets in his way.

Your people used to look to the skies. Some species prayed to it and the unforeseen gods it held. Some used the constellations to communicate with the universe and tried to determine their future. You called out to it and the deep, dark abyss has called back. All around you, you find strange creatures that have been living among the stars and now you've joined their ranks but how will you write your name across the sky?

On this map, each star is colour coordinated to show the distance between each. This is a 3 dimensional map, red is alpha, pink is bravo, blue is charlie, cyan is delta and green is echo. The distance between a consecutive phonetic character is equivalent to the distance between two squares.

Ships can travel 4 squares a turn unless they have an improved FTL drive or an advanced FTL drive. The former allows ships to travel 6 squares and the latter allows ships to travel 10 squares. Being in an empty square at the end of a turn can destroy ships because of the damage a near complete vacuum has on a ventral torsional impulse compensator.

Name: Zeerover

Colour: Dark Green

Race Fluff: The Astavulog are a limber race, looking like an emaciated, hairless, bipedal primate at first glance. If you're blind, that is. The first thing that one would notice about them, aside from their blackened skin, is their four arms, each truncating in a four-fingered talon (Three fingers and a thumb, really.) Their eyes are sunken, and almost universally blue, though some have yellow or green eyes. The average Astavulog stands about six feet tall, with bones clearly visible under its skin, which looks like it's been pulled taut over their skeleton. They are digitigrades, and have bird-like claws for feet. Their blood is bright blue, and so are the insides of their mouths. Their teeth are sharp and their tongues are forked. Few of their kind have hair, but those who do have it on their faces, and wear it in styles not dissimilar to primate beards.

Character Fluff: Zeerover is a pirate, a smuggler, and a thief rolled into one. He left his race's homeworld of Pent'Al on a stolen frieghter with a crew comprised of him and his friends. They packed it with whatever useful items they could steal from the shipyard and blasted off into space. From there, they started holding up travellers, pretending to be damaged or stranded, playing an automated distress call. When a good samaritan arrived to investigate, he'd board the ship, only to be swarmed from the shadows and knocked out. The victim's ship would be gutted of everything useful, and he'd be set adrift. However, the band had the decency to point the shell of any spaceship that they emptied at the nearest station. The crew also make a habit of undertaking smuggling operations. The ship has all of what would have been the empty space between the walls refitted to hold contraband. Zeerover himself is an adept negotiator and swashbuckler, being trained in the use of the traditional Astavulog sword-art of Gihitfung.

A glitch was found in the Khan AI and as it was slated to be terminated it went rogue and took control of a military space ship and got off the planet.

Character Fluff: After leaving his home Khan did what it needed to do to survive. It would change ships and upload into new bodies as need be. Take on jobs as mercenaries when it could or resorting to piracy and raiding when it had to. Khan later found out that his creators were taken over by their own creation, known as Tryannus. Khan felt nothing except a bit of satisfaction that it may have a new employer, or source of bodies. Khan has a fascination with technology, mostly the robotics and cybernetics that makes up it's bodies and weapons.

Daleth is an Idificator. One of three races who inhabited the planet-wide city of Ecumenopolis, they are often considered the race who physically built the city. They are generally humanoid, though they stand around 7 feet tall. They have two sets of parallel vocal cords, and their language utilizes both, one which the other races can hear, and one that is well below their hearing range. Their skin is translucent, though seeing one outside of their full body suit is rare, because it is considered just as taboo to show any skin as nudity is considered in most cultures.

Character Fluff:

Since his early days, Daleth had always had a problem with authority. As a child, he came from the streets of Ecumenopolis, and had an unfortunate habit of relieving passer-byes of their belongings. From this, he became in touch with the less legitimate elements of the great city, and learned how to earn legitimate money from less than legitimate sources. He earned a name for himself among the less legitimate businessmen as someone who could get almost anything you want. After that, he started a gang, and that gang began a slow, steady conquest of the criminal underworld. Soon after seizing control of the underworld, however, the police began to conduct raids on a few of Daleth fences, and he realized it was high time to leave. He purchased a small vessel, a robot to help with crewing the ship, and after a few modifications, he flew away from his home planet with only his two guards, leaving his loyal lieutenants to keep the cash, and information, flowing securely through Ecumenopolis. There was a galaxy to take, and Daleth knew that his gang would be able to run the galactic underworld, eventually.

The Sun spent her time and energy on creation. Making life spring forth on every corner of the world. The moon grew jealous; Instead of creating his own he stole the Suns creations during the night when she was turned away. However this corruption lead many to be unable to touch her light again.

The constant conflict between the two have been known of since those early days. It would always be so, The dark hunts the light during the night, the light hunts the dark during the day. The children of the day and the creatures of the night have always been divided. A circle of strife where one side lashes out against the other and the other seeks vengeance. Bloodshed is common on both sides. But during the day, their dear mother, the sunlight herself, has always protected the “Good” And “Righteous.” Giving the light an advantage over the children of the dark.

Until one day, prophesied the lady in red divined, The prophesy that the world scoffed at, struck true. 

In a blaze during the eclipse, hundreds years after the divination was made, the sun fell in an inferno to earth. As her divine form touched the soil her body shattered into hundreds of shards, scattering over the lands. A desperate attempt to survive the goddess hid herself in countless souls to one day be reunited.

This was only 2 months ago. As the protection of the light was lost an eternal night began. Already on the first handful of days several cities fell to the hordes of vampires, werewolves and other dark nightmares that now feely roam the lands. Guided by the pale moon still visible in the sky. Only through the innate magic of the lands does the crops grow and the temperature allow life. Though without the extra help from the sun great hardships plague the lands. Methods to create sunlight thought spells or other means can be discovered to ensure a good harvest.

Jian's naturally have highly addictive magically extremely nutritious sexual fluids that when ingested build up a need to the point where without outside help the addicted cant live without the Jian. The fluids are thick and sticky to an impossible degree, and Jian's can all produce gallons upon gallons of said sexual fluids and can do so at will.

In line with this the Jian's Biomancy focuses on said fluids. They devise spells to levitate their fluids, cause it to have effects, preserve it, and more. These natural talents make them some of the best dominators amongst the forces of the darkness, at the cost that they are not natural fighters despite their scary appearance. To make up for this they take slaves from the other races, preferably warriors and fighters that can protect them.

Kiji is no exception to his race. Like other Jian's he is intelligent, lithe, and crafty. He lives in a huge cave network but often helps out other creatures of the darkness. Recently he assisted a Proven assault, and as a reward was given some precious objects, some goods and some equipment. But most importantly he acquired the lucky Warrior who is going to become his newest slave and bodyguard as payment for the loss of his old one. How delightful~

Class: Biomancer(huge focus on sexual fluids)

Faction: His own(willing to help out other dark creatures as long as he is garanteed something precious in return, preferably slaves)

Name: Jotunn ættaðr

Race: Human (possibly giant descended)

Background and fluff: Born to a mother who's name he never knew, Jotunn was a marvel to behold as an infant. Weighing as much as a sack of grain, with a head the size of a watermelon, a warrior of the tribe came into this world screaming. His mother died before she could name him, and so the village named him Jotunn ættaðr, for it was said he must have giants blood in him to be this big.

As he grew he proved them right, his height overtook the other children of the tribe within 6 years, and by the time he was 12 towered a foot over the tallest man and with a body that could wrestle a bear and push back an ox. He valued his size and strength and power, something which tribe valued in a warrior as well, and carved his name into the minds of the tribe as he joined the raiding bands and cut men in two with a single blow. On the day he achieved manhood challenged the village to the Chieftans daughter. None could oppose him, and so when the Chieftan died he took his place.

His size and brawn did not take away room for a warriors mind and cunning, and he lead his tribe to glory after glory, raiding those of dark and light without discrimination. In time, the Proven had had enough and organized a great army several times the tribes size to wipe them out. It would have been the end for them until the timely rescue of the Dwarves of Allethaes, who had been tracking the Proven's army.

He had always thought the dwarves weak, small creatures not fit to fight. Until the day he saw that their size did not limit them. He saw the strength in their armor, their weapons, their discipline, how with a handful of short men they slew a mighty Proven war beast ten times their height, and held the line against so many proven numbers.

Kiji laughed, a dark rasping sound that was almost a screech. He was always laughing, always finding something funny. His brothers and sisters, his mother and actually Jian father, they always laughed too. He was born laughing, and like all Jian's he laughed for a reason. Everything was part of a plan. It always ends the way he wants, even when there is some derailment. Of course there are times when he wasnt laughing. Maybe he needed to be silent, maybe he decided that laughing was not good for the occasion(admittedly its rare), and sometimes something happens that isnt funny.

One of those unfunny things happened earlier today. He sent his faithful and discreet slave out to assist the proven, and his reward was some goods, some equipment, and a dead slave along with her killer. Considering the time that went into breaking his last toy and the connection he had with her this was hardly a fair trade! But its alright, these things happen to everybody. Besides his new toy is a real delite…

Kiji looked down at the elven warrior as she lay upon the bed, insults and threats spilling from between her lips like a drunkard. She hadnt shut up since she woke up. He had sat in the room for 5 hours completely still except for the tapping of his claws on his legs, watching her as she slept, thinking of all the things he planned on doing to her. And now that she was animated he could really take in her personality and body.

"Are you listening to me monster or are you still lost in some daydream?! My allies will be here in short order to take care of you. Mark my words you will feel the full fury of light magic within an hour! Then again a sick thing like you is probably too dumb to keep time. Hah! Too think that you even managed to get a sla-"

Colony builder:

Earth is doomed. Sign of alien life had at last been detected. However that detection was of a massive asteroid being pulled by a solar sail towards earth.

As expected this did not really thrill the populace in general with the the whole imminent death and all.

With an estimated 16 months before impact the goverments went together to create arks. Meant to take the best and brightes. The healthiest and most diverse of mankind to new worlds. Equipped with the most advanced technology of 2047. An advanced SI, genetic labs equipped with embryos and incubators, Suspended animation tubes to keep the crew and populace of 50 dormant for the journey and most of them for the early stages of the colony. Weapons were added with the realisation of the existance of outside threats. Massdrivers and lasers on the arks and Lasers, explosives, coilguns and Oh so many non-lethal weapons in the ark armoury.

The project did not go flawlessly and conflicts arose regarding who would send how many people on the arks and it all came to a point with the nuclear annihilation of Brazil when they held one of the launch sites hostage.

But as the asteroid approached the arks streaked out to solar systems deemed potentially life-sustaining. 6 Arks in all driven by solar sails and Ion engines.

After 43 years of travel the ark is waking up the necessary crew to prepare for landing. Contact with all other Arks has been lost. Wether it's due to catastrophy, equipment failure, distance or something else is unknown.

You are the crew. Thoroughly vetted and choosen for your ability to fill an important role on this new colony. (I won't accept lolrandom characters. they have to have a chance of getting on the ark).

1: Take samples of the water, using the robots to obtain it without exposure. She takes care to not allow any risk to the sample; it could contain many harmful pathogens and more to herself and the crew after all.

2: Once the sample is secured and in the genetics labs Vivian begins to work with it, running tests of all kinds to figure out its makeup more through than what the long range scanners could ever allow. She ensures that her work is open for the other scientists to view and copies of the results and information will be sent to engineering as well.

Located in the secluded mountain town of Anarbor, the school was built with much fanfare across the county. State of the art, Smartboards™ in every classroom, carts full of Chromebooks, nonstick desks, and comfortable des…sorry, didn't have the funds for those. The three story building is arrayed in a massive squared "C", with the grassy quad in the center.

Background: Jack lives in your standard suburban neighborhood, but he always seemed to be the odd one out growing up. For some reason, he always had a hard time connecting with the other kids, his one outlet and the place where he did really well with other people was the football field. Here is where the boy learned what it means to work hard, and sacrifice, not only for yourself, but for others as well. His life followed a standard pattern of sitting at home and studying, going to school and being bugged to do work for people because he was slightly intelligent and also not a lazy arse and did his own work, and then going home and either playing vidya, going to practice or weights, or studying. This all changed his senior year. For some reason, Jack was popular now. He didn't know why, and he really didn't want it. Really, he just wanted to be alone with his books or at home doing nothing. He's now out of his element, his intelligence keeps him from relating to most of his friends, and something about this new school they all got sent to seems to freak him out. At least his best friend, his cousin Rodger, got transferred here too. He's smart like Jack, even plays football too, but he can play the field as well, as evident by the many girls from their old school that walk funny because of him now.
