Colony builder:
Earth is doomed. Sign of alien life had at last been detected. However that detection was of a massive asteroid being pulled by a solar sail towards earth.
As expected this did not really thrill the populace in general with the the whole imminent death and all.
With an estimated 16 months before impact the goverments went together to create arks. Meant to take the best and brightes. The healthiest and most diverse of mankind to new worlds. Equipped with the most advanced technology of 2047. An advanced SI, genetic labs equipped with embryos and incubators, Suspended animation tubes to keep the crew and populace of 50 dormant for the journey and most of them for the early stages of the colony. Weapons were added with the realisation of the existance of outside threats. Massdrivers and lasers on the arks and Lasers, explosives, coilguns and Oh so many non-lethal weapons in the ark armoury.
The project did not go flawlessly and conflicts arose regarding who would send how many people on the arks and it all came to a point with the nuclear annihilation of Brazil when they held one of the launch sites hostage.
But as the asteroid approached the arks streaked out to solar systems deemed potentially life-sustaining. 6 Arks in all driven by solar sails and Ion engines.
After 43 years of travel the ark is waking up the necessary crew to prepare for landing. Contact with all other Arks has been lost. Wether it's due to catastrophy, equipment failure, distance or something else is unknown.
You are the crew. Thoroughly vetted and choosen for your ability to fill an important role on this new colony. (I won't accept lolrandom characters. they have to have a chance of getting on the ark).
First we vote on:
1. What kind of planet is it?
A. Frozen planet.
B. Arid planet.
C. Barren planet.
D. Volcanic planet.
E. Oceanic planet.
F. Desert planet.
All of these planets ARE possible to have a colony on and have different advantages and disadvantages. if there is life on them is unknown.
2. the arks had slightly different focuses to try to get atleast one to survive. what was the focus of this one?
A. Military.
B. Genetics.
C. Industry.
D. Botaniy.
E. Zoology.
F. Academia.
3. Who is captain?
4. Who is Head of security?
5. Who is chief engineer?

Each turn you roll 2d100 for actions and if you have 1 of the superior positions you can roll a 3rd d100 to do an action in that area.
the success scale is 50+ success with potentially MASSIVE bonuses and penalties to the action. The goal is to make it a somewhat realistic simulation of the success rate of a person with your training and abilities.
for example a person shooting a rifle at 30 meters range with a little bit of trainig at a target would get +-0. while someone with NO TRAINING at all would probably get something like -30 or 40.
Think through your actions. Interact with eachother and be reasonable. Nobody wants to die because nobody wanted to repair the air-scrubbers.

Fluff:
Reknown as one of earth's most brilliant minds the name Klaus Diesel became essential for all discussions revolving around robotics, artificial intelligence and cybernetic enhancements.
A cool, if at times impatient person Mr Diesel believes that humanity's best hope of survival on the new planet will be heavily reliant on robotics and a swift industrialization of industry necessary for the survival of the human race and the reconstruction of its civilization.

Smith-Ing Industries was a major supporter of the Ark Project, so with a few bribes and promises. Henry Smith was able to get a spot on the Ark.

Name: Rauny Haddock
Fluff: Rauny Haddack is something of an odd character. Personality wise, she wracked with long-standing contradictions in her character. For example, she is a devout Christian who is pro-science. She is against violence, but served in the military. She hates killing, but likes fighting. She dislikes liberals, but reads their books. She hates drinking, but loves drunks. She hates reading, but likes books. Despite all of this strangeness, Rauny remains an even-handed personality; some assert that her apparently bi-polar nature is the key to her success – she remains both nuanced and approachable while also maintaining a hard edge where she seems to think it is proper. As such, this makes Rauny fairly effective in most tasks, and extremely difficult to outwit - she is a mental fox and not a mental hedgehog.

Fluff: Laurence Regan has always been fascinated by the mysteries of the mind. Thanks to his natural predisposition and the support of his wealthy family, he managed to spend most of his life studying in the best universities Earth had to offer. He began his academical career studying Psychiatry, and then moved to Social Sciences, Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuroeconomics. In the years before the construction of the Arks, he was considered one of the leading intellectuals in the much denigrated fields of Theoretical Xenopsychology and Xenosociology, and was also one of the researcher working on the axioms of Psychohistory. Since Lawrence has some medical training, his main role in the colony would be to support the more experienced medical personnel while making sure that mental illnesses and internal struggle do not interfere with the first stages of construction.

Character:
Name: Bjorn Eriksson
Fluff: Bjorn Eriksson is a gun nut as a hobby, hard-line mercenary was his profession before earth was destined to blow. He was part of an elite mercenary company that usually deployed using various dangerous forms of parachuting. Like often trusted with highly dangerous missions that almost always would result in casualties that armies didn’t want to accrue, Bjorn is used to a hard life and it shows. He is easy to laugh at jokes and likes almost anybody who simply doesn't rage in his face. His soldier nature is shown at any signs of danger, he reacts to it almost on instinct and he almost always uses a lot of force to put it down.
Heavily enhanced he has scars from various surgeries done on him to improve his bones and muscles and various other improvements. When he isn't on duty or in the armouries tinkering with his armour or weapons then he can easily be found in a bar drinking or sleeping of the hangovers in his bunk.
He is originally from Iceland but joined the army at a very young age, he quickly showed great promise inside the military lifestyle and soon saw himself rising in rank.
When sent to a joint operation with other countries he by pure coincident got deployed with the squad he was leading alongside the mercenary company he just a few months later joined by his own choice leaving Iceland and a countries military structure behind him.
He was well-known within the company for his hobby of fixing his units gear in his spare time when he wasn’t on missions and later on not drinking. He loves weapons and the feel of combat as he controls his weapons recoils as he sends death towards what ever dangers he faces. He has some mild close combat training which he handles with a serrated knife and custom made revolver that is a few sizes larger then it would normally be. He knows how to operate a wide form of firearms, SMG’s, Carbines and Rifles are almost all on the same level for him as he likes to choose what weapons to take to each mission he goes to. He also has basic knowledge in explosives but nothing heavy duty. He is fairly lacking in knowledge when it comes to rocket propelled weaponry as he dislikes them for a lack of magazine capabilities.
Bjorn had been ready to take a higher role inside the mercenary company’s command structure except they where already taken by more experienced people. Still in the end a few months before being asked about the going on the journey of the Arks he was Lieutenant level of position.

Name: Vivian Hart.
Fluff: Vivian has ever since she was a child been fascinated to learn more about new things. Surprisingly adapt to understanding that she encountered she found a love for biology and how the world around her works. Both of her parents were professional doctor and a surgeon. Leaving her with little time with them, but the best of the best when it comes to education. This private tutor encouraged her to encounter new people, animals and plants to learn more of them. She set out in the world early on examining life’s amazing ability to adapt to its surroundings. This has lead her to icy caverns, under the seas surface, cave systems, jungles and more. Her curiosity got her into many dangerous situations but she was never deterred, if anything she is a bit fearless, driven by her hunger of knowledge. She poured all of her time into this, ending up with few friends outside of her connections within the world of science. By the time she reached an age of 23 she had seen much of the world both with the blue eyes and under a closer inspection with microscopes and other tools. She spends equal amounts of time studying her target both in the lab as well as out in the field where it thrives. Her name as a prodigy of genetics and biology has spread far.
She was chosen cause of her ability to learn as well as her strong will of going to the ends of the world to understand what she encounters. Her main focus is a biologist as well as a survivalist. When she learnt she would go to the stars at the age of 26 she was both thrilled and sad, knowing that the reason for her opportunity was cause of the impending destruction of the beautiful world she grew up on and loved.

Fluff: William, or Billy to his soldiers, has experience handling officers from his years as military administrator, scarred with blindness in one eye in the line of duty and had it replaced with a cybernetic replacement. A melancholic man with good soldiering qualities and a reputation on sound strategic decisions. Oversaw a genetically enhanced yeti-soldier spawning facility before the Earth was doomed and had to put down the savage beasts with his luger parabellum. Now selected to captain this genetics colony to demonstrate by example the serious tone of this mission and honor those that contribute well with the highest regard.
His favored luger came from an old german friend who was a casualty of the yeti's and William is determined to be on guard against the dangers of artificial life. In the past men swore by his leadership and their good morale stemmed from good decision making in exerting authority over his staff to make arrangements that benefited the loyal and punished the misfits.

Name: Father Nikolas Parversoft
Fluff:
Born of a poor farming family in the back country of the New Soviet Republic he learned at an early age the harsh realities of the world and how cruel it could be. When the majority of his family died in the Great Famine of 89, he joined the cloth devoting his time to religious studies and helping the needy. In this time he viewed the disastrous farming techniques that had cause the death of so many and the instability of the current world system. Hoping to truly great change he got his degree in botany and started to work on new types of sustainable farming and genetically engineered plants seeing it all as God's test for humanity to overcome nature and truly take it's place at his side. With the coming of the Meteor Father Nikolas believed that God was giving them the final test, throwing them from the cradle to the black abyss to see if they could rise above. Taking his faith he joined the Ark as a Botanist to seed the foundations of a New Eden for humanity.

Name: Lance Westerberg
Fluff: Lance Westerberg was born Gustav Westerberg in Stockholm, Sweden. He gave himself the nickname. After he finished his education, he signed up with the Swedish air force, and quickly showed a great technical aptitude, quickly learning how to fly nearly every fighter in Swedish service at the time. After seeing combat in a counter-terrorism mission in the Middle-East, other elements in the Swedish military took notice of him, and seconded him into the SOG, Sweden's special forces, as a pilot and vehicle specialist. He underwent intensive training, and learned to fly stealth transports and bombers, as well as operate several types of ground vehicle. However, he was never very impressive in hand-to hand combat, or a particularly competent marksman. Despite his drawbacks (and, perhaps, in addition to them), he is egotistical, and always feels like he's one of the most important people in the room. To put it bluntly, he's a bit of an asshole. He was selected for the Ark due to his skills with aircraft, and is familiar with the operation of each of the various vehicles in the Ark, especially the flier.

Bjorn Eriksson is a former mercenary who experienced some very dangerous battlefronts during the instabilities at the time with the incoming destruction of earth. He likes people, always loves a good joke and he is easy to get to laughter. He has taken to his new responsibilities with eagerness, wanting this second chance of humanity to succeed. His memories of old earth still remains but he looks forward to see what he, and the rest of the crew, can make on this new world.

"Eriksson here, sorry for not answering any summons ealier, was making certain all of armory's equipment is where it was supposed to be." Bjorn says over the comms as he emerges from within the backrooms of the armory. He simply woke up really fast from the cryo and went there to check on all the weapon lockers first of all.
Actions:
1: Check over all the equipment in the armory and sign out any weapons that people come to pick up. (He wont allow people without training for weapons to sign them out without good reasons.)
2: "Requesting people either to report to me or their chiefs so we know who awoke successfully from cryo." Bjorn request a rolling call of the awoken personal so we have a check on who is up and about.
3: (HoS Action) Look up any reports the ships SI might have that is part of his jurisdiction. H request simply the SI to report anything that might have happened during the voyage or during the awakening.

Fluff: She was chosen cause of her ability to learn as well as her strong will of going to the ends of the world to understand what she encounters. Her main focus is a biologist as well as a survivalist. Vivian is ecstatic to learn soon after she awoken that they are approaching an oceanic planet! All she could think of were the possibilities of life. Eager and on shaky legs after being suspended she listen in on the coms and makes her way to report to dr Lamb. She also needed to find a second to handle the genetic labs when she was unavailable. Hearing Dr. Lamb to tell them to turn on the sensors of the suit she does so.

"Dr. Hart reporting for duty. " Vivan says over the coms." Caeruleus sounds nice but Nethun's works for me as well. I suspect Captain Sherman will be deciding later on. " She stumbles in to the medical bay, clearly still affected by dizziness from the long sleep. She smiles however, happy to be awake again. "I will be checking up on the genetics labs quickly before heading to the mess for the meeting." After a respectful nod to Dr. Lamb she moves to the genetics labs to check that everything is in order there.
1: Check that everything is alright in the Genetics labs. If anything is damaged or out of order she reports it. If she finds that all is in order she heads to wait at the mess hall.
2: Read up on the data of the scans the ships computers have collected of the planet below. Hopefully giving her a little insight of the aquatic planet as well as looking for interesting or valuable information to bring to the meeting. (Improve Theoretical Xenobiology.)

Name:Captain William "Billy" Sherman

>AFTER STATED ACTIONS ARE COMPLETED EVERYONE IS DOING MAINTAINANCE OF THEIR OWN HEALTH AND GENERAL WORK ON THE SHIP.
>>25491
After the reprimanding from your superior you decide to take a quick run around the ship but everyone keeps getting in the way and eventually the SI asks you "Is something wrong? Could you please limit your running to the gym treadmills while in such at such a delicate time. Thank you for you patience". You however manage to get the wooziness away.
>>25493
You help to manage the chaos that is the ship awakening and approaching landfall.
>>25496
No leaks can be discovered in the water circulating the hull of the ship as storage and additional radiation shield. However there are small leaks in the hydroponics that are solved by some ducttape. The air situation is getting worse until hydroponics is re-activated and the stale air you're feeling is from the storage tanks. It seems that the robots and maintainance crews have replaced faulty things and kept things mostly in order. A few quick patches here and there and logging for future watch you head to the meeting and sit in on most of it.
>>25497
You start the process of starting up the hydroponics bay again. Taking the seeds out, activating the misters and such. Then you start a crash-course in genetics while you sit in on the meeting. Eyeing your pad while trying to listen.
2/4 genetics.
>>25501
You take inventory with Lawrence. It seems that as long as nothing major happens there is plenty of medical resources on board. You ask the ship SI to inform you if there are irrelugarities in the vitals of any crew and you soon get a ping. Hurrying to the position you find Rauny Hadock being annoyed and trying to run through the corridors. Apparently he was denied checking out a gun from the armory so he could start targetpracticing against an improvised target on the bulkhead. You don't have time for that right now though as you head to the meeting.
>>25503
The Engineering staff are busy at work. They know what to do with a few directions by you. To be honest a lot of their talk is just confusing when it comes to the speccs. It is somewhat apparent as your fatigue and worry makes its way into your voice and face. They mostly ignore it though. The SI informs you that it does not detect any changes and that you still have full backdoor access to the entire ship.
After a little bit you arrive at the meeting.
>>25508
You run around the ship fixing minor faults at several places. Including several the robots and SI had not identified. The most severe one was a flaw in the transition rail between the airlock and the vehicle bay that could possibly lead to severe failure and maybe compromisation of the airlock and the ship atmosphere.
>>25526
You work with some of your co-workers to bring the hydroponics back up. And stay to work a bit more with getting the neutrient solution and misters just right as they leave for other tasks. When you're happy with the results and the seeds are prepared you leave to give them time before they need more attention. The preliminary scans are very inconclusive on the matter. It seems to be a large ocean planet with no found land. But much of the planet is covered in storm-clouds that affect the vision.
>>25533
You take inventory with Dr.Lamb. It seems that as long as nothing major happens there is plenty of medical resources on board. With your help Lamb finishes up early and you both go to the meeting.
>>25537
One of your subordinates seems to want to improvise a bit of target practice with the coilguns but you put him in his place before you ask the SI to lock up and leave for the meeting. The SI informs you that there have been no sign of the Extraterrestrial threat that wiped out all life on earth. However it asks you "Decrypt classified information?". You select yes and the last message from Ark-6, The closest Ark-Ship. It's a report of how as they approached the planet (a lifeless rock with little hope of sustaining life) an asteroid in orbit ejected Several objects that accelerated towards the ship at a high speed. The transmission ends there as the captain prays for humanity.

You find a pretty major problem. That problem was the hydralics that controlled several landing struts. Which could have proved very bad in case of a landing on ground. While working you connect your audio feed to a coding tutorial.

You start removing protective plastic from the gear. The only broken thing you could find really was a beaker with a crack in it. You dispose of it then head towards the meeting while pulling up a crash-course on genetics on your pad.

You take a quick run at the gym to awaken properly. After getting your sweat up and pumping you take a look at the vehicles real quick. Before heading to the meeting.

"ship integrity should be sufficient for entry into atmosphere. Light vacuum corrosion and wear from impacts. This is disconcerting but you decide that it's not the most important thing at this second. You do a quick scan of the cameras with your eye. Every room has atleast one camera (many of them hidden), including the lavatories, showers and personal room. Even some of the crawl-spaces have them. Personal privacy was not ranked very high when it came to ensuring the survival of the species. You go to the meeting where the SI is preparing food in the background for after the meeting is completed.

He began his academical career studying Psychiatry, moving afterwards to Social Sciences, Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuroeconomics. In the years before the construction of the Arks, he was known in the scientific community for being one of the leading intellectuals in the much denigrated fields of Theoretical Xenopsychology and Xenosociology, as well as being one of the researcher working on the axioms of Psychohistory. Focus on programming, partially based on any data we already have on weather patterns and pressure and such (being a survival collony type deal, we should have some data to work off, as weather is an important part of survival and collonization), attempt to program routines for alerting when major changes in atmospere occurs and such. Software/things necessary for a weather station/satelite to log. If possible enable it to be updated with further "patches" later from surface if connection is established. We can work on a seperate pattern recognition program/unit later when we have something that can collect solid data and we actually have more data to work with.

2: >>25683 Assist Ms Hart on sensors, I'm looking for a good landing spot - is there land at all on this waterball?
Chief Smith strides into the Mess with a confident smile on his face. "Captain Sherman, Engineering is getting the ship operational and ready for Planetfall. I'm working on getting a more complete report, but here's the summary of what we've got."
"First, due to higher than expected wear on the ship, and the short time between awakening and planetfall (I did try to push for more time to survey before we set out, if you recall), we're ruling out attempting an orbit. We're coming in too fast and steep for anything but a rather jarring aerobrake and skip, and with that much water down there, I don't want to strain the ship further. Hydroponics and O2 are coming online, hopefully before we land."
"Second, we're working on getting a weather-sat put together. This will help compensate for not being able to survey from space somewhat, as well as give us some warning on storms - things look chaotic down there. I've got most of the team working on that right now, and checking maintenance. We won't get another chance to put something into orbit for a long time, Captain."
"Third, when we do hit the atmosphere, we've got a good chance of losing some of our shipbased weapons, but unless you order otherwise, I'm not going to spend any time on them. Too many other details need our attention."
"Fourth, I'm working with Ms Hart to get some sensor and observational data put together on the planet (I suggest calling it Nepthus by the way), so we'll have a good idea if we've a prefered landing zone."
"And fifth, finally, we've got the Gamma Ray Beam. It'll kill, cook, and sterilize anything in about a 2-3 km radius when we land, if we fire it - but we've only got that one chance to fire it, and there's a small chance we might lose it when we hit atmosphere. There's also some ethics consideration, but I feel we need to consider ourselves to be a very endangered species."

I'll hop into the shipboard simulator, and run through some scenarios, with different circumstances (weather, different failures on the vessel, etc.) each time. Hopefully, it'll prepare me for the landing. Hopefully. I can't remember the last time that I had this many lives in my hands. Oh yeah, never. [Train in simulator to land ship in water, +25?]

"Its quite clear we need to do something about the conditions on the surface.
As I see it we have two options. Get in land and dig in, or submerge the arc below the sea. And with the extreme windstorms I think submerging the ark would be much safer.
I suggest we land the arc someplance where the sea is just deep enough that is will be safe during the storms. Then we anchor it to the bottom.
We should make preparations for this our nr 1 priority.
Early plans for harvesting the wind for power would also be a good idea.
Does everyone agree? Suggestions?"

I agree fully. With the conditions of the surface the best option we have is to be submerged and use the water as safety against the storms. We have ensure that we do not go to deep however to avoid problems with pressure instead. The ship was not made to be submerged after all. IF we do manage to get it grounded somewhere close to land under water then it may be possible to expand into the land if its stable. It would be a long-term project but artificial underground caverns could be a viable idea?

"There is only one problem with that. We are on a space ship, which is not meant to survive under the pressure of the ocean. I would suggest we land on one of the islands and anchor the Ark to the ground and create some wind shielding along the bottom to minimize lift. From there we can build wind power generators , and if we land on the volcanic island we can build geothermal as well, and expand down to the continental shelf. Also we should get this satellite out and into orbit soon."

We need thise things and we need them fast.
- We need to know where to make landfall. Somwhere just deep enough to keep us safe from the super storms.
- Preferebly somewhere far away from the storms, to buy us as much time to get ready as posseble.
- Also prefereble somewhat close to solid land
- We need to prep the arc for submersion. It needs to be able to handle the pressure, its not buildt for that kind of sustained deepth atm. We need it to be.
- We need some way to anchor the arc securly to the bottom.
Report in to your superior, Chief engineer Smith, he will delegate you to where you need to be. I'll have the science staff assist with what we can.

"With thise windspeeds I doubt we could build much of anything on the surface, and anythign less then an absolutly massive wind shield would not be enough. Even the slightet corner sticking out would have the water and wind rear it appart.
If we where to set the arc on land we would need to dig. 20-30 meters down or such, and that would require the soil to preferebly be some kind of rock. If we are thinking of the volcanic isle that would require the volcano to be stable. We would have to dig fast and seal the hatch. and if the soil is not solid enough it would be water there too."

"Captain Sherman, I've my recommendation for a landing spot; one of the larger islands. The weather in that region would be mild compared to others, while also remaining tectonically stable. The larger island is about 30 meters above sea level, and about 24 km2 in area. There's a few spots that might be likely locations for landing. The suggested plan would be, as soon as we land and take immediate stock, we begin digging a shelter to put the Ark in. Based upon observations we should have at least [2 Turns] clear before we need to worry about a storm, giving us time to dig deep enough to bury the Ark, build a seal, and begin construction of a storm berm system. Name: Bjorn Eriksson

Bjorn Eriksson is a former mercenary who experienced some very dangerous battlefronts during the instabilities at the time with the incoming destruction of earth. His memories of old earth still remains but he looks forward to see what he, and the rest of the crew, can make on this new world.

Right now the ship can’t anything heavy as these ships where constructed with due haste. Our job is to keep the new colony safe, we aren’t any military anymore, atleast for now. We are more police right now and that reflects what I shall assign you to do. Until we reached the surface we shall only use the nonlethal weapons.
Keep the peace and watch out for everyones security, the biggest problem I expect us to get is if people might panic over our situation as it develops. We are subdue them if they prove dangerous to the colony or themselves and also call me instantly. The scanners now when it's fairly close start to pick up spots of luminescence in the ocean. It could be bioluminescence or something else. Either way it's quite extraordinary and probably something worth mentioning to your superiors.
Genetics Weak.
>>25937
The satelite gets launched by engineer Santiago out of the massdriver at a trajectory that is estimated to put it in an orbit around the planet that should let it pass over the islands that have been preliminarily selected. But as the satelite moves a heat signature rises on one of the asteroids that litter the area and a missile streaks out towards the satelite! Luckily the SI managed to shoot it down despite it's evasive manouvers. Though all of this has stressed the ship batteries. So far this information is only avaible to the leadership. You notice that as the event happened the SI shut down all non-leadership feeds of the event. including that of Santiago next to you.
>>25939
You help out here and there and get kept busy with many small matters.
>>25939
Not having anything to do yet you spend your time exercising and keepin your body in top condition. You feel confident that you are up to task! You are also called to a Security briefing (you are classed as security) after which you are given a non-leathal weapon.
2/4 Fitness. 1/4 CQC.

If it weren't for your eidetic memory you feel like you would not have handled the strain of trying to lear so much at once. but thankfully you manage to retain all the information.

Some areas of the thrusters are hard to examine with the constant usage to prepare for the landing. But as far as you can see there is nothing wrong with them asides from a slight clog in the fuel line to one of the secondary thrusters. It is rapidly fixed by your skilled hands.
4/6 programming.
>>25948
You manage to cook up a large batch of sealant in the lab and keep doing that until it's time to launch the satelite
Under the supervision of the head of engineering you launch the satelite. It goes well towards its orbit before your overview screen goes down and the HoE seems distraught.
>>25955
You spend most of your on duty time in the simulator. Racking up hours and the SI has almost rated you "cleared for flying". Your freetime is spent reading Political texts. After the Sec meeting you are given a Tranq/shock pistol to use in case people get unruly.
+Inventory: Tranq/shock pistol combo
3/4 Flier training.
>>25957
You start making lists over the various personel and their positions and subdivide them after suitability for the various stages. This is purely psychological and skillwise you can't really tell. But if this list combines with a list over those that have the required skills it could be effective.
After that you start reading up on Ethology. On a planet like this it's possible there is life and hopefully what is true about life on earth could be true here too.
1/4 Ethology.
>>25959
You check that the mining equipment is working correctly and then take a look at the shuttle. However you have no idea how that works so you can't really do anything. And to make things worse the SI identified your "two crates of rare pepes" file on your terminal as viruses and removed them. Also you have noticed that it has started to burn slightly when you pee. It's nothing urgent though.
>>25994
You start preparing a sermon and making sure that nobody has forgotten what to do during the re-entry. Nobody will die on your watch.
>>25996
You continue on your robots. They understand you and you understand them. They make sense. unlike humans. You work on the fliers and also modify one of the crawlers to allow it to travel underwater and to also mine for shallow ores or even tunnel into rock with time.
5/10 Fliers upgrade.
>>26025
You make sure that EVERYTHING is strapped down. You might have gone a bit too far though as some people got annoyed when they put something down for 10 minutes and then couldn't find it anymore as it was returned to its secured location.
>>26057
You hold a sucessful briefing when you tell the Sec guys how it's going to be and then afterwards give out a non-lethal weapon to those that have not already gotten one.

After getting his Master degrees in Botany and Zoology, he entered the research corps of the US Navy. Never much one for combat, he barely managed to get through basic.

1. That was actually… fairly underwhelming. I was almost hoping for a systems failure, after which I'd have to expertly pilot the craft onto the surface, barely saving everyone and everything on board. Oh well. I'm sure a time will come when the future of the human race is in my hands. In any event, someone needs to survey the surrounding area, and it may as well be me. I'll try to get the exploration submersible into the water, pending the approval of the rest of engineering. I'm not keen on drowning. Once I'm in, I'll examine the damage that the atmospheric entry and splashdown caused to the vessel. [Examine damage using submersible, +25]
2. While I'm down there, I should give the rest of the area a look-see. I want to know the basics of the area that we're in. For one: What's the water like, composition-wise. That should be easy. Just take a sample and bring it back to the lab. Most of it, I'm guessing, will be sketching out the seafloor around the splashdown site, and collecting soil samples. I don't really need to do much of anything with them except bring them back to Lt. Marshall pr Dr. Hart. [Roughly map seafloor, collect samples, +25]

The only thing that got to him was the thought of never seeing his lover, the blonde-haired angel Vanalika, and thus he was a mess for the last few months of the construction program, and found solace only in the mines, finding the right quality metals to be used in the arks construction. Imagine his surprise when he blacked out in the mines on the last day of life on earth, only to be awoken on an ark heading to another world. Apparently his intelligence and skill with rock had been noted, and would be valued in the settling of a new world, thus he was *coerced* onto the ship for the betterment of mankind

1/2. If that storm hits us and we're unprepared, we may as well just drown ourselves now. I will use my mining skills to remedy that. Begin Excavating the earth beneath us for a storage space/storm shelter until we can make harden structures that can stand the wind. If we are not on solid ground, then send out a few fliers in a noah-esque attempt to find solid ground. One shall return with an alien olive branch.

Name: Raul Santiago
Fluff: Santiago was a chemical engineer for a prominent technology company that helped create the arcs. He was part of the design team that worked on many of the material and air recycling systems. He also had his hands in some of the other systems such as the movement of the cyro coolant and tanks to contain the genetic material and keep them fresh. Due to his skill, some luck, and possibly some corruption he was chosen to be put on the ark.

Name: Jane Sunwalker
Fluff: Sunwalker is the most unassuming woman you can imagine. Five foot nothing, middling thirties with her mousy hair tied up in a bun 90% of the time she is the perfect picture of an housewife. This image is only exacerbated by the mild befuddlement she wears at all times. The reason she seems lost in her own head half the time is because she is. Its one of the most wonderful heads to be lost in. For she has a truly brilliant mind. She has completed 6 doctorates in physics and engineering and has no less then 31 patents to her name for various small but innovative devices. Many of them she invented on the fly to make her job easier. Which is currently keeping this bucket of bolts running.

Once landed she checks over the scans again before contacting the HoE.
"Mr. Smith. I'm sending some scan results over to you, they are curious, to say the least. There are spots of luminescence in the ocean, It could be bioluminescence but possibly artificial."
1: Take samples of the water, using the robots to obtain it without exposure. She takes care to not allow any risk to the sample; it could contain many harmful pathogens and more to herself and the crew after all.
2: Once the sample is secured and in the genetics labs Vivian begins to work with it, running tests of all kinds to figure out its makeup more through than what the long range scanners could ever allow. She ensures that her work is open for the other scientists to view and copies of the results and information will be sent to engineering as well.
