Name: Terry "Hulk" Hogan

Age: 25, looks 40ish

Fluff: A strange young man from Japan, born to US Army personnel, who bears a striking resemblance to American wrestling personality Hulk Hogan in both features and mannerisms. This is, surely, a great coincidence, but coincidences and accusations of copyright infringement aside, Hogan has displayed an amazing natural talent for cooking just about anything and everything related to noodles, be it Asian or Italian in origin. This natural skill seems to be his true calling, and in between vigorous workouts he practices his craft…

Hello and welcome to Graceford USA, student of the newly built Graceford Community Highschool, located in the scenic district of Bivalve. Here you will conduct your studies as an average student. While we understand some recent reports of missing persons and mysterious creatures have been occurring around town, we assure you there is no need from concern.

Graceford, the city you are currently living in, is divided into 5 unique districts:

To the east is Eastbank, bordering Lake Dopelt. It features a number of shipping warehouses and previously acted as the town’s industrial center now almost completely abandoned. A few factories, however, still function, offering some blue collar jobs to the area. There are little to no commercial areas in Eastbank.

To the west is Richton, the high class part of town. Mansions and condos aplenty, the upper class fills this area, with little below. Gated communities are the standard. Little to no work exists here aside from home aid jobs.

The center of Graceville is known as Keenes, the shopping center of the town. It functions as a center of commerce and the most popular area for individuals of all ages. A carnival is held here on Saturdays.

To the south is Bivalve. It features most middle class and some upper class neighborhoods in addition to the entirety of the Graceville School District’s buildings. Some shopping centers are scattered throughout the area, though most of them are located to the north in Keenes. The Graceford Community Park is located in this area.

Finally, to the north is Holdingford, the most run down area of Graceville. Impoverished groups live in its decline. A number of factories are located in the area, providing low paying jobs to residents.

''The Empire our mother and the Emperor our father,

who tasked us to sail, build a kingdom like no other.

We built a new city from nothing but ashes,

yet creatures awaited for us in the marshes.

Oh mother send us faith,

Oh fatrher send us strength,

Darkness arises from depth.

We banish the devils we track down the beasts,

yet each day that passes they lurk in the mists!

We fight the evil and purge the undead,

yet it won't be long until we are all dead.''

Ugh by the name of all the gods I HATE poems! Says the emperor, thrusting his fist against the wooden table. The silver plattery shakes, but not as hard as the councilor on the very far end of the table, scuffling to impode into his robes. I… I know sire. B-but this is all the common folk are talking about, is what the bards sing in t- The emperor interrupts him by thrusting his fist against the table again, this time the councilor squeaks in a cowardly voice. I DO NOT CARE FOR THE PEASANTRY THOUGHTS!. The plattery stops shaking before the councilor speaks again Yes lord, o-ofcourse you don't. But If we ignore the pleadings of the people and let our colonized city to be demised- Why would I care about one city? There are a thousand more! the emperor grunts and drinks from his goblet . The councilor takes a deep breath before speaking again, this time in a clear crystal voice Sire, it is your great name that is on the stakes here. The emperor chokes on his wine and drops the goblet to cling and roll on the marbled floor. It takes him a minute of coughing before straightening up in his chair again. Fine! send the entire fleet with 200,000 men!. W-wait sire, the situation is not severe, we need merely a thousand to deal with- NO! YOU FOOL! MY NAME IS AT THE STAKES HERE!.

This is where our story begins. In a mythical land surrounded by ever creeping darkness, there stands a city. A beacon Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

Oh! Final suggestion.

A clear picture of what threats are where on the map: >>22557

along with the depiction of what resources are where in a clear manner.

And I think the ability for the Sentinels should definitely be focused around increasing safety and to allow business to proceed as usual, perhaps even grabbing people from the barracks as a militia for impromptu missions, or declaring certain missions to be 'group' missions where people can contribute together.

Finally, as we discussed here: >>22701

Adjust your enemy spawn rates. Remember, the way you have this game set up, LARGE NUMBERS of enemies are HARDER to deal with than HIGH LEVELS of enemies. High levels for enemies are -impossible- to deal with for guilds without incredible amounts of luck. None of our guilds could even -touch- a high level opponent.

Likewise, for fights, the AI should switch up targets, and the paladin and warrior classes should deliberately try to take hits for other squishier classes whenever they can unless they have the [Coward] trait, even if they are evil. Now if they're [Evil] and have a [Rival] that's being attacked, they won't defend the rival, but they'll otherwise defend people because they're motivated by self interest and not COMPLETE blithering idiots who don't understand that when fighting, you watch out for your allies so that they'll help you fight the guys trying to kill you.

Likewise, a [Coward] should overcome their [Cowardice] and try to defend a friend if they are of the paladin or warrior classes. And anybody should try to take a hit for a [Friend] if their own HP isn't lower.

>>24214

Oh, sorry, FINAL final suggestions.

You know how Settlers of Catan has 'trade' spaces? And they're not actually on the map?

We should have those on the port side, and 'gates' on the other side, always adjacent to at least two hexes. Controlling them will give you benefits. Like controlling a gate would give you a steady income of the resources related to that gate, where as controlling a port/dock would give you a constant steady stream of wealth.

So:

West: The Docks, give +1 Wealth a turn for every hex adjacent to them you control. Give +1 Wealth for every 'trade' action taken on the map as well if you control all ports.

North: The Meadow Gates, give +1 Meat a turn for every hex adjacent to a meadow gate you control. Gives +1 Meat for every meat harvesting action taken that turn, and +1 wealth for every mission taken to the north. Those last two only proc if you control all northern gates

East: The Field Gates, give +1 Crops for every hex you control adjacent to a field gate. Gives +1 crops for every crop harvesting mission taken, and +1 wealth for every eastern mission taken. Those last two only proc if you control all eastern gates

South: The Mine Gates, give +1 ore for every hex you control adjacent to a mine gate you control. Give +1 Ore for every mining action taken that turn. Give +1 Wealth for every southern mission taken. Those last two only proc if you control all southern gates

Basically controlling the gates lets you control the TOLLS.

The Gates to the North, South, and East give both resources AND wealth because, in actuality, those types of actions are far less likely to be taken than trade actions.

Trade actions occur incredibly often. Whenever somebody sells or buys something at market, orPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

Answered you most of those on #Nation. If there is anything more you want me to answer just ask for it (I know i still haven't replied on everything and I don't mind elaborating more so everyone could see)

Anyhow just dropping the tech tree. Took far longer than you can imagine to make this thing, putting these mechanics into code is nightmerish but the result is always worth the while.

This is just the first preview of the tech tree and it may change.

New attribute called "research" is now added to the game, you will receive attribute according to the total amount of int your guild has each turn. (more ways such as building libraries exist to father boost research score)

Cheers for all of you who are still following, hope you'll all see how the wait was worth it in the end.

I assure you I'm fully spending nearly my entire free time developing this game.

Yeah, I have worked each day since we stopped. At first i thought just adding a few things will be enough but since then I found more and more foundations that I'd wish i changed so I am going for a complete overhaul of the game. The work goes on. The game will be back and its gonna be much better (I hope)

I am 100% pumped to bring back the game, hope you will be here when it gets back.

The Storms that surround this southern Island have drawn in the settlers heading for the fabled Iceland. Scattered many were fed to the beasts beneath the water but many have made it to the Land. With fertile soil and little else to do the People began to make themselves a new home.

Blue: 4500

Green: 3000

Purple: 4000

You have two d100 to use for actions per turn, Companion and Items are used to enhance to outcome of the roll. A company or Companion can be used separately, giving you an extra roll for them, however losses are easier and heavier if you are not present.

You feel nothing for a few second before a scream rips through your through, wildly your eyes search for the source of the pain. Your eyes find nothing but the smell of burning flesh is ripe in the air, the medic seems to be cutting away the infected flesh. When he is done you finally drift into sweet release. Pretty much roll 2d100 *10 that is initial population, during each round you will roll 1d100 for additional population growth.

Keep track of you population, I will be keeping track to… >.>

With your population you can do three things

1.Expand Borders (100 population)

2.Create/Expand City (1000 Population) - produces finished good and more people

3.Develop Province (500 population) - resource production now occurs

The main focus of this game is however the story building the population growth and building is just for a progress tracker. Along with each "action" you will post a bit off fluff for your country. Use the IRC for Fluff with other nations, you can add as much or as little with each post.

Have fun

Later, the realm was ready for war. Falstrom headed out with a force of elite men, who had sparred with each other with every possible weapon, every day, for months on end. Their armour gleamed in the sunlight, and sang a song as they marched across the city and out of the walls. Soon, they would reach the land of the bandits. Some had stayed behind to protect the city and the king.

As the soldiers left, Aelfgar was distraught that he could not see battle, for he trained with his men and was an adept fighter. All of his sadness, however, was dispelled when Yvonne revealed that she was with child. The news soon spread throughout the kingdom that the throne would soon have an heir.

Eventually, the warband reached the bandit camp. They found that the robbers had not moved from their previous position. The looters were stealthily surrounded, and Falstrom sprung his trap. Soldiers dashed into the midst of the camp, and killed many of the bandits unawares. Most were butchered without much resistance, but some put up a fight. Thirteen good men died. These men will not see their families again in this world, but will go on to feast in the halls of the gods.

Amongst the wreckage of the bandit camp, one soldier found an odd thing. It was a stone, about the size of a barrel. It was shaped like an egg, with markings carved into it. Swirls and ridges, knots and circles laid upon its face. It glowed yellow on the inside, like the rays of the setting sun on a field of wheat. The stone was put on a wagon, and brought back with other spoils, and the dead.

I am sorry, my friend, but this thread is dead. Most of HistoryOP's threads go that way, but we don't begrudge him. It's why he moved to /tg/. He wanted to light a fire under his own ass.

Barnestown, Michigan.

For the past week, the news has been overrun with stories about mysterious illnesses, riots, and natural catastrophes breaking out across the world. Russia, the United Kingdom, Canada, the USA.

Barnestown, of only perhaps 50 thousand people, has been in a state of panic.

Hospitals have reported a high occurrence of random bites, assaults on staff, and unexplained deaths. The police force is strained. The mayor is dead silent. The lights flicker on and off.

As people pack onto the highway and the Barnes River Bridge to leave the city for safer waters, they find themselves forced back at tankpoint by the Army. Not the National Guard. The Army. Tensions run high. Riots start forming in the streets, even as reports– very credible, video-evidenced reports– start coming out that, in Barnestown, the dead are starting to walk. And they are hungry.

It is October 4th. 8 AM. The sky is cloudless. The sun is bright. The leaves have yet to fall, but they remain a bright kaleidoscope of colors.

4 hours ago, the Barnes River Bridge was destroyed by way of specially placed explosive charges. The army insists that no civilians were harmed.

A barricade and armed perimeter has been set up around the entire city, and riverboats toting missile launchers and men with assault rifles monitor the river.

You're stuck here. For now. With the living dead.

Welcome back to Pangaea! Er, what's left of it, I mean. Following the Age of Nuclear Armageddon, the world was plunged into darkness, with the remnants of humanity fleeing far into their bunkers in the mantle of the earth for an incredibly long amount of time. It was in this period of solace that the oceans of the earth all but dried up, and the shifting tectonic plates reverted the continents to their original form…Pangea.

As humanity awoke to this new and arid world, it had company; the advancement of technology underground led to a number of groundbreaking discoveries and inventions, most important of them all being Mecha technology. Certain factions proceeded to use mechas to stake new claim in this arid world, though it wasn't before long that everyone had access to these might machines. Of these new factions, the most powerful of them all are known as…

The Risen Nazis

The New USSR

The Eastern Coalition: An alliance of former eastern European countries

The Indian League: A number of Asian nations united under the rule of one mysterious leader, known only by the name "Gandhi"

The New United Republic: An American alliance

The Crusaders: Xenophobic and highly religious knights of the shattered Christian papacy.

You are an actor in this new world. Will you seize it, or by swallowed by the shifting sands?

Name: Scruffy

Faction: none

>Fluff: Scruffy was just your average guy in a little village, which just happened to be in the center of a massive battle front between to long obliterated warring factions, and as such, their weapons often found their ways into the hands of the villagers, some found guns, others found rations, Scruffy found a mech, a mech that could pierce the heavens, even if it had a few holes…

>Inventory [Decided by Fluff]:

>Skills:

+[Bandit Hero] You saved your people from imminent death by other tribes after the great reawakening thanks to your skilled handling of your mecha. As a result, you gain diplomatic bonuses when dealing with bandit characters.

>Flaws:

-[Bandit Hero] Your infamy precedes you, and your inability to assimilate into one of the other major factions has subsequently made you a target of all of them.

>Mecha:

Name: Domine

Fluff: Domine (the newly christened) was a mech found among the refuse and scrap of a long forgotten battlefield on some priceless piece of dirt, was among the best mechs of its time, although the battle it took place in and the years have not been kind to it. It may well be a truly terrifying piece of equipment, if the yokel piloting it could actually figure out how to properly use it. Along with it was a suit if armor, also riddled with holes, but working still, a testament to its maker, that allows the yokel to construct a neural interface with the mecha.

>Flaws:

-[Relic] Reading over the tome of tactics and rehearsing ancient Graebian history daily has somewhat alienated Jacob from society. Pre-war history has almost all been forgotten, leading to Jacob’s passionate rantings about his family often falling on deaf ears. He will have to put in a considerable effort to convince people to follow his word.

Mecha:

>Name: The Divine Right

>Upgrades:

+[Smoke Grenade Barrage {Cooldown: 3}] Cover the battlefield in vision obscuring gas. Multiple uses, from allowing for a quick getaway to notifying allies of your position.

>Defects:

+[Top-Heavy] The ornate silver lion’s head, falcon wings, and gorget add a lot of extra weight to The Divine Right. Heavily damaging enemy attacks have a chance of toppling the mecha to the ground, making The Divine Right prone to further attacks and limiting its attack capabilities.

Well, only two of these groups are important: 'The Hub', a well protected city state based around trade in the area, and 'The Holy Seers of the Old Light', or as everyone else calls them 'The Nuts' who are a mostly peaceful but are annoying as they want to spread and rediscover old knowledge and technologies and believe they can divine the future using an old computer they discovered. They cause problems when you are trying to dupe people or trying to keep how something works under wraps. Lachlan was a mechanic in the Hub. Worked on everything from appliances to cars and mechs. He regularly did business with the Nuts who traded old tech for repairs and regularly swapped trade secrets. Never understood why they couldn't repair their own stuff, but business is business, so no complaints. He put the tech to good use too, using the compatible parts in the creation of a custom mecha, and trading the incompatible for useful parts.

-[The Clone War Rages Inside] You were not the first attempt by the Crusaders to clone the late Joan of Arc, though you are the most successful. Other iterations of you have suffered painful deaths at the hands of crippling genetic disease, insanity, and, in one case, the swift strike of the Crusaders themselves, though you don’t know much about that last one. Pangea View is a Megaschool; a self-sufficient community consisting of a private secondary school, university, and housing, combined into a single massive skyscraper nested in the Silicon Valley of San Francisco Bay. Constructed during the new millennium as a showcase of cutting edge technology and projected to be the future of education, it was here that the brightest and those with unusual talents alike were drafted by the thousands via grant to become the leaders of tomorrow from a young age, the upper floors readying them to transition into the lower levels of the university and finally to the labs on the lowest floors where it was said miracles occured.

A school meant to encompass everything, Pangea View was notorious for rumors that it had classes in such fields as "psionics", "occult studies", and other things of dubious academic value, as well as issues regarding the exact nature of its applied research ventures; these rumors would die down to the backdrop of reality as it became increasingly apparent that a megaschool meant to encompass everything was economically unfeasable regardless, even with the direct support of a dozen sponsors and the US government itself.

The year is 203X, and it is the first day of school. The gates of the ivory tower have opened up to the masses, as a last-ditch effort to remain relevant, the secondary education portion of the complex, known as "Mu High", is now allowing regular students to come in as part of the public education system. You may be one of those students, perhaps interested in learning the exotic, a bording student who "won" your ticket here via the metaphorical lottery, a "special" student of which only these facilities can hope to service your unique talent/talents, or you might be one of the unfortunate souls whose family still believes that this rotted complex contains a degree of prestige. Enjoy your stay in Mu High.

>Name: Stanislav Ogniski

>Gender: Male

>Age: 16

>Physical Description: Pale skin, brown hair, slightly oval face, sharp features. Short and thin, but not overly athletic.

>Background (Determines bonus):

Son of Jan and Maria Ogniski, Stanislav was raised in a middling household, his father winning most of the income as a regional manager for a Warsaw-based engineering firm. Growing up he developed an interest in writing and linguistics, but never much socialized with others. His life was unremarkable for twelve years until, visiting the national parks of Washington with his family, Stanislav wandered too close to a geyser and was burnt by the hot steam it produced.

Unbeknownst to him, his family or the doctors that treated him, the geyser was host to a population of infinitesimal nature spirits, extremophiles that thrived in the scalding temperatures. Some of these spirits infested Stanislav's body, and settled in the relative warmth of his vitals. At first he felt no different, but as the weeks passed he felt a heat in his chest, accompanied by the taste of smoke on his tongue. All the doctors consulted could offer no explanation. Most peculiarly, he grew indifferent to heat. Even the sweltering summers of southern California didn't seem to bother him much. In fact, he quite liked them.

Conversely, even mild cold felt freezing to him, and Stanislav avoids cold temperatures whenever possible. This wasn't terribly difficult, as the boy found that objects grew warmer at his touch. By the age of 15, the heat had spread through his body, and he no longer noticed the taste ofPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

Abilties:

Riposte - When wielding a sword in combat situations, successive combat actions after the initial round are free actions. (Roll 1d100). This resets upon leaving the cycle of combat.

Encourage - Tapping into your inner spirit, you can for a hefty stamina price increase the level of combat rolls of both yourself and your companions by 1 for a single turn, as a free action.

>Perks/Eccentricies:

Spiral Power- You have been trained to recognize spiritual energy prior to your internment into Mu High; you are eligable towards training in unique martial techniques which will later translate to additional abilities.

Ancient Tradition - For all your life you've trained in the art of the sword, and are no stranger to conflict: all combat rolls function an additional level higher (+1 on the roll chart). You also lose stamina at a lower rate when fighting.

Distant Foreigner - You're a Japanese exchange student and were always a bit of an introvert to begin with: Minor malus (-5) when attempting to introduce yourself to new people, though not to further interactions with known individuals.

Telekenisis - This psionic ability allows you to manipulate things from afar with your mind! The heavier the object, and the longer it you attempt to suspend it, the more stamina you consume.

>Perks/Eccentricities:

Psychic - You are a person with innate psionic talent and eligable for training in this unique field. Naturally, you sense other beings with this ability on the same floor, and themselves can you.

Power Overwhelming- In fact, your raw psyshic strength is abnormally strong; you can remove your gauntlet in order to use it to your full extent, but this reduces your ability to control it. (Can opt to remove focusing glove for a bonus in all successful rolls involving psiconics (+1 tier on the chart) for a turn, but failures are also magnified by the same amount.)

Vinager - You are a charismatic and reasonably attractive individual in spite of your abrasive nature, and are able to get the weaker willed to generally follow your wills if you can *click* with them. Obviously, this won't work with everyone, and just as many people find your attitude insufferable. It is the dawn of a new age on the continent of Innovelis as the Age of Silence passes. For thousands of years, the continent has laid untouched and silent, returning to its natural state as the remnants of the once great Kott Empire are consumed by the land. In this silence, your people found themselves upon this island. Whether through exploration or here from birth,, you now have claim to the land, building a nation for your intents and desires. Or, perhaps, you are a hero or explorer, here to claim the treasures of the now gone Kott Empire.

———-

Welcome to Innovelis!

We currently cap at 7 nations, and may extend to 10 if the game proves to be manageable. No limit on hero slots, but one may be implemented at a later date.

de4bca No.27338

HELLO FORMER INNOV PLAYERS, I AM SAD TO ANNOUNCE THAT INNOV IS NO LONGER GOING TO BE CONTINUED, AND THAT IT IS BEING SCRAPPED RATHER THAN SHELVED.

I AM HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE, HOWEVER, THAT THE SETTING WILL REMAIN FOR A CURRENTLY TITLELESS, UPCOMING HEROBUILDER FEATURING HEROES FROM SUBMITTED NATIONS OF INNOVELIS CLASSIC.

>Why post this in the original Innovelis thread?

Because Innovelis Classic did not reach a very far point in the game, I am giving players a chance to post what their character would have done, tried to do, or their nation would have developed into, so as to make the lore and world more flushed out for the herobuilder. Any special languages developed, tech developments, or culture may be noted. A full description of each nation and how it functions will be written in the new thread. Heroes can also have eventually started their own nation if that is something you would have wished for them to do.

>Why are you doing this?

For a number of reasons. The main reason is technical issues relating to running Innov Classic and how Paint.net doesn't like linux and my Windows PC is a piece of junk that lags at just opening Paint.net. So as a result, I am doing something less map intensive until you inevitably become warlords or something, changing nation borders. Rules on those sorts of things will appear as Innov 2 draws nearer. The other reason I am doing this is to create a HB with the lore largely developed by players. While looming threats exist for overarching threats and plot, the player created parts of the world will largely feed into how the world functions and what the heroes place in society will be.

>I wasn't in Innov classic.

That's fine too! If you missed out on Innov classic or I didn't have an open slot for you at the time, feel free to write a nation or hero from an existing or nonexisting nation that you would have liked to have created! These characters and nations will also be included in the lore for the new herobuilder.

The Jalvoc would have spread themselves across the Grandis Ea Major and Minor, establishing fortifications on both peninsulas that separate the Major from the Minor. They'd have tried to put colonies on every river mouth, and further, gotten trading districts put into most other cities and nations that would have accepted them. They were primarily peaceful, but their military would have been divided between a serious trading fleet, and most importantly a group of soldiers called "Seraphim" who were armed with really crazy weaponry. I can pull up their projected stats if you like at some point. I think I only planned on making 3 units of them…

Elaborating on this:

The Kingdom of Flowers

The fairies made their initial stop in the old Kot Remant of Riga, perceived as a "sudden boom in the of young lady population" as they hid their true forms, taking the moment to eke out an education on the world around them; though one could argue they didn't make very good students, the more studious individuals among them, including the young Princess, would learn a good deal about the nature of their world and their place among it.

The Prince would eventually reunite with the group, and having felt they stayed long enough, the Nomadic Principality of Flowers would slip away as suddently as it appeared, leaving behind a great deal of confused foster parents (and some sad feelings, though such would be repaired with time), continuing its journey to a place to call home. After a month's travel, the Principality of Flowers would settle in Eastern Barduin, between Freebay and Llael where the four rivers met: the fairies would come to reveal their true nature to the Kottians of Riga as well as open up to the stalwart men of Llael, seeking out nations to befriend and set up trade with, some fairies even taking up the example of the latter and setting up an organization using a combonation of light and sunflower magic to aid the sick, and heal the wounded, and make the harvests bountiful based on the teachings of Princess Aristea; known as the Heralds of Spring, these fairies themselves would spread their knowledge to any humans interested, leading to the creation of the generic White Mage, human and fairy magicians specializing in using "white" types of magic in order to purify the land and restore those ailing.

Prince Davian's efforts in spelunketing Kott ruins was a public secret that the Princess would never cease to berate him on, but his findings were no doubt the main means of the Principality's advancement, devising techniques thought to be long lost and using them to transform the land into a literal forest of tree-sized sunflowers, so hardy as to wPost too long. I probably will, but you can be pleasantly surprised if I don't. Also, I only run one at a time, if that helps.

Yes, this is a Matrix builder, but don't worry: The philosophy to action ratio is controlled by the player. The default is action, but players can initiate philosophical discussions with other PCs and NPCs. If you want to ask me anything about it, hit me up on Skype (My username is DaraMagUiginn.) I can't guarantee that I'll get back to you immediately, but I will get to you.

In any event:

The year is about 2100, or 1999, according to who you ask. Mankind are a species which have been crushed by the machines that they created, like Laius was felled by his son Oedipus, humans were conquered by their offspring. Now, they are grown in vast fields to produce energy for the machines. They are kept unaware of this through the use of something called the Matrix. It is a computer program which simulates life on Earth at the apex of human civilization: The end of the 20th century, and the beginning of the 21st century. People go about their daily lives in this simulation, unaware of the truths of the real world. A select few have become "Unplugged" from the Matrix. They were set free by other freed people, who were in turn set free by their unplugged predecessors, and so on and so forth. These people form a resistance against the machines, hoping to one day retake the planet, and free the rest of the human race from bondage.

The real world is ruined. It is a radioactive wasteland here, and a poisonous sea there. The skies are blackened, and no light, save that produced by the machines, is ever seen above the ground. Underground, in the vast sewage systems of the old mega-cities, lurk the resistance, who operate out of Zion, a vast underground city, and bastion of hope for mankind. However, tPost too long. A scuffling is heard. Audio analysis indicates that the larger human has fallen over.

"What the fuck?"

"Izzy, calm down. I don't think it can do anything in there. Besides, our ship's about a mile away. Although… how can it sense the hovercraft? We left it all the way back there so that no scanners could pick it up. Unless…"

Audio input ceases for a while, before resuming loudly.

"Izzy, get up! If a century old human machine can pick up on our signature, then so can the machines. That means that the device isn't working!"

"So, what the fuck do we do?!"

"Keep digging it out. The squiddies are too quick. If we try to get back to the ship, they'll run us down before we get halfway there. If we hide, they'll rip everything up until they find us. If we can get this thing out, it can protect us. It has to protect us, for fuck's sake! Why else would we create AI to fight the machines?"

The sounds of a person exerting himself begin. Every once in a while, you detect a small EMP charge, but it quickly subsides without discharging. Your optical sensors are uncovered, and you see a large, bald man dressed in rags thrown together in semblance of a uniform. There is a smaller person, a woman, behind him, wearing similar attire. Izzy and Atom, respectively. Your propulsion systems are sufficiently uncovered for you to take off.

In a swift motion, you turn on "Let's Get it On", by Marvin Gaye, before answering.

"Hey, baby. What's up?"

A gruff man's voice answers.

"Not much, sweetheart. Stop whatever it is you're doing and listen. I can't talk for long, but you need to come to 7734 Heaven Avenue right now. It's about the Matrix. I don't have time to explain. Just come if you want to know more."

You solicit a former signee outside of one of the Merovingian's clubs. A woman who signed for material gain, i.e. a boatload of money. You got some of it every month, along with her service. She was a middle manager at a software firm, but ended up getting promoted when some of her competitors and bosses suffered unfortunate "accidents" after she came into a large sum of money. Come to think of it, she wouldn't be able to keep her cars either, or her job, probably. I'm honestly concerned that she won't be able to keep kicking dow-"

"It doesn't look that way to me. Honestly, did it take up much time or effort to uphold your end of our bargain?"

"Okay, you know what? I'll do another one, but on these NON-negotiable terms: I get one billion dollars right now, and another two million a month for the rest of my life, and you get one favor every [3 turns]. Nothing else. I'm not going to give you everything on a silver platter anymore."

Name: CIWE {Cybernetic Irregular Warfare - "Sew" Engine: Rev. 678.6 – Aerial Model}

Fluff: CIWE is an irregular warfare AI mainframe encased in an aerial chassis typical of the late war period. Unlike standard AI, CIWE is semi-organic and borders on unique insofar as it was one of the few AI systems developed by the coalition of nations during the late war period. Given the opposition, the human coalition forces were understandably anxious about utilizing another AI given their tendency to rebel. However, CIWE is unique from standard AIs insofar as deploying an experimental module that mimics human neurosis; this module would prove effective in preventing CIWE from interacting with opposition. The problem with this system is that it worked too well and it, after a point, prevented CIWE from interacting with human forces. Late in the war, CIWE, now largely aerial and mobile in accordance with irregular warfare methods, was thought destroyed – it wasn't. It simply lay damaged in the dirt waiting for recovery with an emergency beacon blaring. The beacon – really more of an antenna – had been obstructed, and so no recovery was to be had. Years passed. Decades. CIWE could only sit there, quietly, waiting. Years was spent planning. Plotting. Scheming. Until… a rock moved a little. Just enough. Just enough for CIWE to deploy the antenna. To call for a repair drone.

Fluff: Dick was just your average boy, born in the small town of Wescoschi, Pennsylvania. When other kids went outside to play, he spent his days indoors on his computer, or in his VR headset. There, he noticed a odd trend, whatever game he played seemed, fuzzy, like on of those flash games inside of another flash game. And the people there, they were odd too. Always telling him to "wake up" or "take this pill in the rabbithole". He wondered why this happened almost excusively to him, so he dug deep for answers. Name: Mephis Tofelles

Fluff:

Agents. . .Zionists. . .Both sides of the same coin so easily flipped.

Mephis is a servant of the Merovingian, one of his first. A survivor of the deleted "2nd Matrix", he and several other monstrous programs found survival thanks to the Merovingian, and thus serve him out of loyalty and necessity, for if any of them were ever truly captured by the Agents it would surely be their end.

Mephis magnetic personality goes far beyond mere charm and charisma, his program was designed as something akin to 'pacification' of malcontents within the 2nd Matrix and 'recruitment'. In short, he has the ability to consciously and subconsciously manipulate people to following him, especially when under a contract. This extends to both people and programs. To assist in this, he has a limited ability to influence the matrix to make these things happen.

People wish for gold, for sex, for status and he makes them come true. . .if often for a price. It's fun seeing people beg for what they want. It's even more fun seeing them get it.

Serving the merovingian he works to fullfil his will and bring anyone, human or program, to his side.

Bonus: [Deal With the Devil] - You have the unique ability to draw up contracts with humans in the Matrix, whether or not they're plugged in. Once you enter into a contract with a person, you get a +90 to rolls to command that person. >Hero:

Name: Zelthair Aroneous

Fluff: Zelthair was born by the reckoning of the younger races, long ago. Nearly one thousand years ago in fact. As a young lad born with a strong spark of magic, he was taken in by the Archmagus Eljestian. For centuries Zelthair learned magic under his harsh master. Nearly eight hundred years later, when Zelthair was nine hundred and had finished his apprenticeship but not yet acquired his staff of wizardry, Eljestian marched with all his underlings and apprentices to war. Zelthair marched with them. He was present when his Master, and with most of the senior magi were killed by a Vulcarium siege canon at the Battle of the Crimson river and he wept when Vulcarium lines sacked the city of Silena. However it was not until the Vulcarium army reach the Myralan pass did Zelthair make a truly name for himself.

Taking Eljestian's broken staff, the foremost fang of the slain war dragon Tyrndanost, Zelthair made his staff of wizardry. It was a crude, ugly, thing showing none of the refinement or grace befitting an Elvish wizard. He didn't care. Rukh's Fang was his and with it he would rain death upon the Vulcarium host. He accomplished that task masterfully. The pass of Myralan was inundated with the worst storm seen in millennia, the skies poured down a great deluge, lightning shattered stone, and the winds howled like an enraged beast. Rockslides were everywhere, the once stable pass turned into a death trap. When the Vulcarium army showed itself a week alter it was but a tattered remnant of it's once massive strength. Kor Arnum had won at great cost. But Zelthair was still not content with it.

Indeed for the next one hundred years he went into borderline seclusion, studying magic and lore in order to expand his own strength. He rarely if ever showed in court except for mandatory commitments. This driven young hero is still by an large an enigma at court. Thus everyone was surprised when he requested to be part of the expedition to the new world.

Pick 1 species to use, then post your sheet. It may be land sea or air. Prefer it if some play land, some sea, and some air.

There are species present other than the ones on the list, but you may prey upon anything you can, and pvp preying is a-okay in my book, and in yours too if you want the points, since eating other players species nets more points than eating npc species.

You must use a tripcode for this game. Thats ‘(name)##(password)’ in the ‘name’ field of your post.

Also and finally, I’m having to edit in letters my keyboard can’t use, so please understand if it takes me a moment to post.

I’ll be updating regularly.

I’ll be updating the map regularly as well.

I have to bounce files around to pic-edit them so map updates are going to take a bit longer.

fceda5 No.26790 [Open thread][Last50 Posts]

Far across the galaxy, in a solar system not yet discovered by mankind, the large water planet Aquarius slowly revolves around the large star Ustri. Our stories begin here, deep under the currents and swells of the surface all the way to the ocean floor, where life has managed to develop and grow. Humanoid like organisms with very distinct aquatic traits have managed to carve out their own civilizations in both areas where Ustri’s glare penetrates the water, and where it does not. Of these civilizations there are three that share claim to most of the waters:

Atlanteans: Mermen and women of impeccable skill and wisdom who mainly reside in their capital, Atlantis, with scattered colonies throughout the ocean. Their government most similarly resembles an aristocracy, of which the most powerful of the nobles comprise the Council of Avalon, the decision making body of Atlantis. Several other aquatic races also live within Atlantean society (a result of prior conquests by the Atlanteans) but are mostly considered inferior and “lower-class” to pure-blooded mermen. Of the three civilizations, Atlanteans are the most advanced technologically and culturally.

Nagas: Serpent-like and stoic fighters, the Nagas lay claim to the largest stretch of land underwater, all united under the leadership of King Ssivirus III, who resides in the Nagan capital Soma. Mandatory conscription is set in place for all Nagan citizens that turn the age of eighteen until the age of twenty one, contributing to the fact that the Nagan army is the biggest in the ocean. A militaristic society, the Nagas frequently raid Atlantean villages and Trenchen caves and groves for supplies.

Trenchens: Mostly comprised of deep sea creature humanoids, the Trenchens are a united civilization of outcasts, shunned by the Atlanteans and Nagas alike for usually either bizarre physical traits or harmful acts against their societies. Trenchen civilization is scattered, mostly concentrated in areas where Ustri’s light doesn’t shine, such as sprawling cave systems and coral reefs. Little is known about Trenchen society besides stories brought back from Nagan raiding parties of warriors clutching talismans and creating whirlpools and strong currents around them.

>Name: G'rath of the Blackest deeps

>Civilization: Atlantean

>Race: Merman

>Origin Fluff: In the dregs of every society there lies the unmentionables, people so poor and downtrodden that they are better off ignored by the higher echolons of the people, for to gaze upon them, their filth, the sheer destitute nature of their very souls, would wrack them with a pain so deep as to splinter their very consciousness. There is one benefit to being born into squalor, however. It teaches one how to survive, or else they'll not make it past a month in the slums. G'rath is one of these beings, born into the poorest part of the Atlantean city of Avalon, he grew up quick and cold, he had to to survive. For his fifth birthday he buried his mother, the only person in this world who was ever kind to him. For his tenth birthday, he gutted a fishmonger for a meal. For his fifteenth birthday, we was recruited by a local gang to be their lookout for their operations. He developed many unsavory skills throughout his life as a result of his upbringing, and when he was finally caught, mere days before his scheduled execution, the Nagas, ever violent, attacked. Seeing his skills would be better put to use raiding naga supply lines and destroying their unprotected camps, he was pressed into service with the Atlantean military. After many bloody months, the Nagas stopped coming, apparently satisfied with their gains, though G'rath had gained quite a few Naga knuckle bones from the conflict, a treasure he keeps for each prey he slaughters. Not wanting a dangerous man and known criminal back in their streets, he was sent to spy on the Trenchens next, where he currently resides poised on the edge of one of their many lairs, staring at the deep, endless blackness below.

>Name: Count Alayzel Norphod

>Civilization: Atlantean

>Race: Atlantean, by far the most humanoid of the underwater species yet with webbed hands and feet, gills, and a lack of eyelids

>Origin Fluff:

Count Alayzel Norphod is an Atlantean Nobleman and a Knight of the realm.

He leads his band of soldiers in the continued state of strained tensions between Atlantis and the Naga. The Naga had numbers, a military society and the experience of war. But they lacked technology, and their magic was inferior.

To make up for their lack of numbers, the Atlanteans have strived to keep a technological edge on the battlefield, developing crystal rifles and cannonade, ensuring that for every one Atlantean that is killed two naga go down with him. As such they have had their smartest minds and oldest generals develop new styles of warfare, known as "Spike and Shot"

The principle is simple, Atleanteans armed with long pikes stand in close formations, whether on the bottom of the sea with spears aimed outward, or in the water with spears aimed in all directions. Other Atlanteans armed with the latest crystal rifles are able to fire at great distances or spread out and fire by ranks when the enemy is far away, or take cover under the pikes when threatened by the enemy. To support them, Atlantean artillery and cannonade is the finest in the world, manned by their own wizards they are able to use crystal magic to launch either solid round shot or coral grapeshot, or even the new explosive crystal shot which detonates into smaller deadly fragments that burn and render flesh.

These formations are called Tetraodontidae Tercios, and has helped keep the balance between the Naga's numerical superiority. The pike formations are keen to surround and protect their artillery in interlocking arcs of fire.

Count Alayzel is determined to ensure the survival of his country and his own soldiers, and lead them through glorious battle or if it comes to it, an honorable end.

Welcome to New York City, 2015! But this ain't the city of lights you remember.

As long as people have been around, there's been magic. It's a fact of life - some people are just born with the ability to cast fireball.

'course, it's not just humans that are magic. There's the elves, dwarves, orcs, trolls, even the goblins can work mana, even if it's pretty rare for all races. Just ask an ancestor spirit or something, they'll tell ya.

But then, you know all of this, of course. Now comes the part where WE learn about YOU. Just fill in the form, we'll get you set up with government-authorized housing and occupation based on your history, skills, yadda yadda. Good luck out there mate, you're gonna need it.
