Pick 1 species to use, then post your sheet. It may be land sea or air. Prefer it if some play land, some sea, and some air.
There are species present other than the ones on the list, but you may prey upon anything you can, and pvp preying is a-okay in my book, and in yours too if you want the points, since eating other players species nets more points than eating npc species.
You must use a tripcode for this game. Thats ‘(name)##(password)’ in the ‘name’ field of your post.
Also and finally, I’m having to edit in letters my keyboard can’t use, so please understand if it takes me a moment to post.
I’ll be updating regularly.
I’ll be updating the map regularly as well.
I have to bounce files around to pic-edit them so map updates are going to take a bit longer.

1. Too much competition in the Open Sea, Migrate towards Colder Waters [Migrate Biome: Arctic Sea]
2. Need to be fattier to survive in cooler waters Start hunting as a pack (honestly we are acquatic mammals not a tribe of whatever, everyone except the young would be both hunters and breeders because thats how nature works same for most other species being played) [Develop Pack Hunting behaviour]
3. Larger Pods mean larger prey so Breed [Breed]
Effortless Action. Use Sonar to identify threats within arctic waters

1. Gain 1 further shady rainforest, gaining 8 additional points per turn.
2. Gain 4 further population, 2 of which are full-time hunters.
3. You lack the evolutionary points for this, you need 1230 for the next poison upgrade. The rolls result was placed on action 2.
>>24098
1. Gain 4 further population.
2. It isn’t exactly a jungle, its more a redwood rainforest. Gain 1 redwood rainforest and gain 6 further points now, and in each future turn.
3. After a terrifying encounter with a herd of Amphiplodicus Monstrosae, you expand into a plain. Fear, real fear, grips you for a moment as the giants move by, any one of them could have killed you easily with a single tail strike. Fortunately they were preoccupied with moving to a somewhat distant forest.
Plain gives you 3 additional points per round.
>>24099
Need to see your evolutionary points total.
1. Hunting clams gives you plenty of easily accessable food. You may purchase ‘Hunting priority prey: clam’ for 32 points if you have 32 points, and may do this now or later.
2. Gain 6 population, 3 of whom are dedicated hunters.
3. Gain 1 lagoon lake, gaining 9 points per round from it.
>>24101
1. Fail: An encounter with the gentle but frighteningly huge and strong Habiliosimius causes the tiny eucalyptisimius to flee back to the forested mountain slope.
2. Success on the food-gathering. Communal unit social structure is an evolution costing 1100 points.
3. Fail. A family of 3 paleoprimaticus move by and it feels like an earthquake because each of the giant apes is 5 stories tall. The terrified little monkeys try to make themselves look a lot bigger than they actually are by EEK-EEK-ACK-ACK-Woooooo’ing and rustling branches.
Eucalyptisimius gained 'learned behavior: rustling branches display'. It serves no obvious purpose as yet, however, it does have a hidden benefit, and it might work as a mating or confronting behavior, so it isn’t totally useless.
>>24102
1. Fail. You need 600 evolution points to buy ‘born behavior: caring parent’.
2. Gain Brush Swamp, it gives 7 evolution points a round
3. Population increased by 1.
>>24103
1. Gain 2 scrub plains. Gain 4 points per round.
2. Gain 4 population 2 of which are breeders.
3. The largest herbivore in your area is Arborodenti. You bring 3 down at the cost of 2 hunters, you need a strategy to deal with the huge sloth’s deadly sharp tree-tearing claws.
>>24105
1. Gain High mountain x 1, scrub hills x 1, and an additional open sky, gaining 2 points for the high mountain, 4 points for the scrub hills, and 4 points for the new open sky, gaining these points each round after this one.
2. Bad fail, lose 3 hunters.
3. Add (nests) to high mountain.
>>24110
1. Fail.
2. Gain an additional open sky, 4 evolution points per turn.
3. Gain learned behavior: paired hunters.
>>24113
explanation: dedicated breeders and hunters spend 100% of their time hunting or breeding. You may however purchase 'born behavior full time hunter' for 2250 evolution points to make everyone hunters.
1. You got lost on the way, and gained a cold sea instead of an arctic sea, the cvld sea granting you 6 points a round.
2. Spontaneous evolution: pack hunting behavior gained.
3. Gain 5 population, 3 of which are dedicated breeders.
Effortless actions result: There are 3 main threats in the cold sea. Sea bottom - Bifurcatenser, a huge lobster with a single huge 13 ft claw. dimly lit zone - Teuthidaster, a giant squid. Priority threat: Majesticeti, the biggest whale to have ever lived, and a meat eater. Fortunately, dephinoceti is currently simply not big enough for majesticeti to make much effort towards preying on you.

Bad fail, triangli gets chased away by Pterodontis Terrae, a giant flightless pterodon.
Sorta a success, you gained 1 big animal corpse to eat from it, but you need more practice and lost 1 population.
Kiwinsus Vengencia, a giant predatory kiwi bird, Gladiolaster, a huge diving hawk, priority threat: mandibulaster, a enormous toothed humongous milipede. Also xiphoscorpensis, a multipointed tail scorpion that isn’t poisonous.
>>24144
The other somewhat easy to catch thing is locarimortis, a dead-bodies colored huge punching shrimp. The problem is, its currently more work than its worth, you’ll need some sort of weapon beyond disguise for this.
Nearby life forms include Canidicythis, a pirhana like fish, mortenaster, a death-in-minutes-poisonous jellyfish, and titanobatrachius, a tug-boat sized coastal toad.
Gain 1 open sea, gaining 4 evolution points per turn from that.
>>24148

The main threats seem to be winged and speedy dinosaurs, such as Pterodontis Viniculae and Chasmognathis Monstrorum, neither one of which is fast enough to keep up with you once you start moving, though either one of which would easily kill you if they successfully hit you even once.
You discover Celerensia Aromatica, a strong smelling plant that looks like a big celery stick. Its easy to eat and a single one of these huge strong smelling plants is enough to give 5 calixtequisae a meal without killing the plant.
>>24159
Fail, you are forced to flee when you encounter a sudden downpour and lightning starts a fire.
Gain 6 population, 3 of which are full time hunters.
You spent 55 evolution points and bought pack hunting.

3 of the dedicated hunters become dedicated elite hunters, and you gain 4 futher hunters.
Gain ice-sheeted-sea, gaining 6 evolution points per turn, though ice sheeted sea is dangerous for you because the ice-pack makes surfacing difficult.

Gain learned behavior: sharpening. Attacks have a +6 now.
Main things around that are suitable prey are Xiphodentis, a really big cockroach with really big teeth, and Floraplodicus Minimusae, a 3 ft long sauropod thats a natural hider.
>>24226
The pack slaughters a Salamandensus (really big river salamander), despite losing 2 hunters. Gain 1 elite hunter.
Gain 2 further scrub plains, same value as normal scrub plains.
Born behavior: mated pairs is gained. Gain 3 further dedicated breeders and 5 population.

1; disaster, lose 2 population due to quicksand.
2-3: You stomp the shit out of the eggs and then eat them hungrily. You gained a born behavior; predatory egg-stomping. Gain 5 population from the egg feast.
You gained a natural enemy, Kiwinsus Vengencia, which will now attack you on sight no matter what, even if outnumbered. add: “natural enemy; kiwisus vengencia’ to your sheet.
>>24307
Gain Simple brain. Your limbs eyes and mouth no longer suffer a small penalty when being used. In addition, you have what you need to improve your senses and organs.
1: fail. no specific loss or reason, just a fail.
2: you don’t need to use an action to add nesting to a biome, this result was added to roll 1 to blunt it’s result at your request.
3: Population boom, gain 35 population. 18 are hunters and 9 are breeders.
Alert: biomes are overcrowded.
Alert: there is not enough food.
>>24308
Gain 1 river shore, gaining 4 evolution points per round from it.
Born behavior: Primary sire developed. chances of both mutation and random evolution went up slightly, in addition, the female side of this behaviour is to seek only the most elite male, so population growth is steadier, but slower.
You took down 2 arborodenti, gain 4 population.
>>24324
population boom, gain 65 population, 18 of which are hunters (regular) and 6 of which are breeders.
Teuthidastus is learning as well, but with your increase in population, you manage to bring down 3 instead of 1.
Gain natural enemy; teuthidastus, add ‘natural enemy: teuthidastus’ to your sheet.
Gain 4 ice sheeted seas (same value as the first one) and 2 cold seas.
Alert: there is not enough food, you need 1 more biome.
>>24325
Gained learned behavior: foraging. +8 to any food gathering action from here on.
gain 5 population, 2 of which are breeders.
Fail. Simple fail by bad roll, no specific reason or penalty.
>>24331
Gain 1 barren mountain slope, gaining 1 evopoint per turn from it.
gain 1 population.
fail, this behavior is antithetical to your animals nature to some extent, you need stronger social bonds before this can work. Try getting ‘born behavior; flocks’ before attempting this again, you’d be able to get this if you had that.
>>24388
gain 2 population.
This doesn’t work as intended, as they seldom fight, instead however it works as a means of them leading you to food. Gain 4 population.
Fail, the better source of water has aquatic predators, you need to expand into more biomes.
>>24440
Gain 2 population, 1 of which is a hunter and 1 of which is a breeder.
Gain 2 forested mountain passes, gaining 8 evopoints a round from each.
Yetiasters develope a learned behaviour called wishboning to prevent you from killing them, you still kill some though, gain 3 population and lose 1 hunter.

Gain blubber 2. You can now visit the depths for a short time.
Teuthidaster has learned a behavior called ‘clogging’, in which it closes the cetacian’s blowhole by clogging it with a tentacle. Lose 4 regular hunters, though you brought down 3 teuthidasters, gaining 168 evolution points x 3.
Effortless result follows.
The prey animals you have access to are; matchlockensis, somniorthis (both sharks), locarimortis (a big shrimp), Icthymorphis (a big flounder), and of course teuthidastus.
of these, somniorthis is the easiest, because it is a big, slow, dimwitted shark with essentially no teeth to speak of.
You also find in the depths Tartursensis (cephalopod) and Mucosicthynia (hagfish/lamprey), however, since their diets consist exclusively of dead bodies, it may not be wise to eat them.

Expect update soon.
Had a family thing and didn't get back to game until late @ night.
Glittershine needs to post, but if glittershine hasn't when I wake up tomorrow I'll update then.
Also I decided to do my 1st Hero-building game, & it will not be the night land, sadly. I'm waiting on that till the eternal night builder either completes or ends for other reasons, though I may do it on the /builder/ board If I can't make what I'm researching @ present work. I'm currently researching "ogre battle: march of the black queen", a SNES game, as an influence for a hero-builder.
St. Paddy's Day bonus.
>from here on, 1 random player will roll an additional dice each round, still only taking 3 actions. This will never be the same player on 2 consecutive turns.
>you will be informed who is doing the 4 dice in each 'planetary patterns' post from here on.
This bonus takes effect next round.
Happy St. Patrick's Day.

>vestigial limb
it would cost a bit, but you could excise it, you could make it a fin, you could make it a fighting, display, mating, o specialized limb, you could make it have bone, you could make it a tentacle, you could make it a fighting tentacle, and many other things, which I will simply yes or no fiat whether you can do when I see you try it, fairly of course.
>fighting stuff
Any trait that any whale living or extinct has ever had is open to you, though some may come at big cost, and some may have prerequisites you don't currently meet.
As fa as weapons and defenses go, here is a brief list; blubber, striking fin, ramming skull (takes away echolocation, but gives another effortless action), Striking tail, hon, specialized teeth, leviathan (you are reeeeally big), river swimmer (you'd get much smaller if you did this), Bad taste, ridged body, scaled body, bladed fins, and many other things I haven't thought up just yet.

1-3: overhunting drove arborodenti into extinction.
Award: Touch of death - in the first round of any PVP fight, you may nullify 1 of your opponents roll results, making it as if they rolled only 2 dice. After the 1st round, they proceed to roll 3 dice normally. This can only be used 1 time, then it is spent and gone, but you may hold onto it until you wish to use it. If you are driven to extinction without using this, as an effortless action, 1/10 of your population survives as a relic population. This doesn’t apply if the world is subject to supernova, wormhole impact, black hole impact, or the end of time disasters.
>>26415

1-2: Gain a second large estuary swamp.

Gain a second Frigid Sea and a second Cold sea.
While you gain 1330 evopoints, you still lose 9 population.
Gain 4 elite hunters.
Effortless action: the other resident echolocation user is Baleenaster, who is a really huge whale, to big to just ‘drive off’ like that. However its a baleen whale, so it doesn’t compete for your food.
You bought striking tail for 440 evopoints, +10 to attacks with the tail.

Evolutionary traits (in a list): Fin, Striking Tail, Intermediate Cetacean organs, cetacean blowhole, echolocation organ, beaked skull, Eyes, Mouth, Cetacean Carnivore’s teeth, Intermediate Blubber 2, Advanced Cetacean Brain, Cetacean Oily skin, Speed Fin, Colouration: Sea Colours

current points per turn: 350 + 24 + 24 + 6 + 20 + 18 + 3= 545
As far as purchasing goes is there any kind of advanced echolocation organ purchasable something to improve tracking/geographical knowledge if so I'll purchase it. Also any way to make my species migratory and any kind of annual breeding season?
1. Engage maximum Barry White (Breeding)
2. Begin attempting to hunt mid-sized predators (stuff around our size) by using the Striking tail to stun and disorient while preventing escape via surrounding with pack (I'm just gonna stop specifying predators and just go with general size/type due to the multiple pods and you can just apply natural enemies as you see fit)). [Pack Hunting 2, Full time hunter, Striking Tail, Speed Fin, Alertness]
3. Work to improve pack hunting dynamics around the Alpha and Elite hunters (upgrade pack hunting II) [Teaching Young, Alpha-ism]
Effortless. Begin attempting to develop a rudimentary language (like what irl whales and dolphins have)
