GET OFF YOUR LAZY ARSES HEATHENS CAUSE IVE GOT A PROJECT FOR YOU

In related thread >5040 we decided that, to truly establish our faith in a way that it can compete with the Semitic ones, we should compose a book made up from all of the most spiritually important parts of Germanic history. It should weave together history, worldview, myth and conduct into one book. What we are proposing is not a mere intro guide to Asatru but a massive tome, taking up every little piece of lore we can find.

We are not proposing that this become our sacred text to be forced into every temple nor do we claim it to be a Heathen Bible. It will simply be the recorded myths and history of the Germanic tribes, something that can easily be made into a standardized book that can be widely distributed. We have also proposed that art be included in the pages, if any drawfags would be willing to help

Texts that are proposed to be added

Heimskringla

Prose Edda (needs editing)

Poetic Edda

Song of the Sun (needs editing)

Jomviking Saga

Parts of the Nibelungenleid

Select quotes from Tactitus Germania

Niflung Saga

Select stories from the Brothers Grimm, can be edited to have more Heathen tone

Collection of folk songs and war chants

The Berg Dwellers Song

The Dream of the Rood (should be edited to have heathen imagery)

Pow-Wow medicine [not Indjun pow-wow, I mean the stuff used by amish] (needs to be edited for heathen use)

The Rune Poems (Anglo saxon, Icelandic and Nordic)

Pages to illustrate the runes and explain some of their deeper meanings

Collections of prayers, songs and chants

Rules regarding shrines

Volsung Saga

Beowulf

Song of Roland Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

I always thought the Vanir were the gods of the hunter-gatherer and horticultural Europeans, and the Aesir were the gods of the Aryans.

That's an interesting interpretation.

I kind of intuited that the Vanir are peacetime gods, while the Aesir are wartime gods. The Aesir's superiority over the Vanir is perhaps a reminder that readiness for war is necessary to preserve peace.

I don't think there's any precedent for neglecting one clan or the other. In fact, the Aesir-Vanir distinction is only attested in Norse sources. In Anglo-Saxon and continental sources, there are only mentions of the gods. Absence of evidence is not necessarily evidence of absence, mind; it's possible that continental and insular Germanic people did have a conception of the Aesir and Vanir as two distinct groups, but it doesn't seem to be shown anywhere. Anyway, whatever your personal thoughts on the validity or legitimacy of a distinction between two groups of gods, I'd say that there's nothing wrong with - indeed, precedents in all Indo-European traditions - for cults of particular single deities, but being part of a group who tend to a sacred grove to Nerthuz isn't the same thing as being "Asatru or Vanatru".

All really interesting ideas. I've considered and seen posited by others the idea that the Vanir might be the gods of pre-Aryan indigenous northern Europeans whereas the Vanir are the gods of the invading/migrating Aryans of the period just before the Nordic bronze age, as >>13663 said, but I don't know how solidly supported this idea is. I definitely see and agree with the sense of the Vanir being more primitive, more earthy and more material, They tend to have spheres relating to land, fertility, bounty, wealth, whereas the Aesir tend to have more to do with either martial or philosophical/artistic doPost too long. >Sir William Francis Butler: 'The nation that will insist upon drawing a broad line of demarcation between the fighting man and the thinking man is liable to find its fighting done by fools and its thinking by cowards.'

Thanks for the attribution. I had assumed that quote was from some Greek philosopher.

The Aesir always seemed to me to not even have domains in the strictest sense. Thor isn't the god OF thunder, thunder is just what happens when he rides his chariot around and kills giants. Odin isn't the god OF knowledge, he just has a lot of it. They are later assigned these domains, perhaps by occult-minded medieval writers. Somebody in another thread said wiccans treated their gods like pokemon, maybe the same thing was going on there.

Anyway, interesting analysis. Can you recommend a good beginner book on Hinduism?

Its selfreflection time!

Former Pagan now orthodox christian, who commited a lot to Rodnovery speaks with a priest about what desillusioned him.

Where is he right?

Where is he wrong?

What are you faulty with what he critisizes?

What are heathens you have heard of faulty of what he critisizes?

Are our efforts fueled by vanity and lack of aim among the other things they list as they say?

Any thoughts or lessons to be learned from this?

His argument, from what I've read thus far, is that polytheism is too fragmented in interpretations, and too split because there are multiple Gods. I *could* understand this argument if it weren't for the fact that our goal should be to reach a consensus that clearly states the values different Gods have in their pantheons, as well as the implications those values have in terms of theological development. Another goal should be to reach a consensus that acknowledges the value to a shared European heritage that different European pantheons and the cultures surrounding them have.

I'll read the rest later, but I'd like to add that the YHWH of the Bible, as followed by Orthodoxy, Catholicism, etc. is still Semitic in origin, and still centers its chosen holy places in the Middle East. YHWH is not a good God - It's the exact kind of demon you should expect Levantine hooknoses to worship. Read the false Book of Exodus to see its true nature.

Okay, finished.

tl;dr 'pagan' myths about forced conversions are false, 'pagans' lack Holy Texts that aren't fabricated by conmen, and there's a positive spiritual presence felt at Churches even by 'pagans'. Plus anecdotal evidence via a miracle, as well as contemplation that all 40+ Christian generations in Russia were traitors and what that entails.

Ye, I'll let someone dissect these points a little, then I'll add my thoughts.

lol, literally exactly the same what muslims say when confronted on their warmongering in asia minor and north africa. let's ignore all charlemagne's coercion in saxony, slavic lands of the wends, the various scandinavian christians who forcefully drove out indigenous norse spiritualism, the many cases of christians force converting each other to the TRUE sect etc

>Holy Texts that aren't fabricated by conmen

all the wicca crap is crap, any modern books or texts trying to add to the scoured traditions of our forebears are crap, yes i agree. really the only way our folkish ethno-faiths will return is to get rid of Jewish modernity and live agrarian lives like our ancestors. or to use a National Socialist state to organically invoke a new blood religion - which will inevitably draw on the old faiths. it must be organic, not forced.

>and there's a positive spiritual presence felt at Churches even by 'pagans'

catholics and orthodox directly appropriated pagan art and temples (the ones they didnt destroy in their Jewish iconoclasm), so it's exploiting the plunder taken from gentiles. i do not feel mystified going into a protestant church, which is the closest sect of christianity to its original teachings and scripture - free of most of the pagan adoptions of catholicism and orthodoxy

>that all 40+ Christian generations in Russia were traitors and what that entails.

After reading this, it sounds like the guy went back to Orthodoxy due to disillusionment from the Slavic Pagan scene being mostly a Universalist/Wiccan/Liberal hot mess.

I wonder if he would've stayed if he had gotten up with the Slavic equivalent of the AFA or Odinic Rite.

Do you use mead for blots? Or drink it on holidays?

Some info from the author

AUTHOR’S NOTE ON THE TEXT

I have structured this book, perhaps, in an odd manner. Information on how to make beers is in here, but this is not a simple manual. Probably the closest thing to a step-by-step instruction to making beer is contained in appendix one. This book is primarily intended to share the poetry and beauty of ancient fermentation and only secondarily to share recipes, some more than 2,000 years old, for making ancient sacred and healing beers. Any recipe in this book that calls for malted barley can be altered by the use of canned (unhopped) malt extract or a combination of brown sugar and molasses (see appendix one for the details). And since so many people keep asking: No, I haven’t made all these beers, but I have made more than one.

Started a new batch, following a recipe very closely. I guess it can be referred to as a cyser. Total volume is a little bit over 11 liters right now, aiming to have around 10 liters after racking.

It includes:

2.2 kg honey

4 liters of apple juice

4 grated apples

water to a total of around 11 liters

This time I didn't some new things:

I added tannin hopping it will lead to a better taste and easier clearing. I think it also helps to prevents oxidization?

I adjusted the acidity to around 6.5 gram/liter using lactic and citric acid.

I added an antigelling agent to help dissolve the grated apples I also added.

The plan is to wait till the all the sugar is used up. Then I will measure the alcohol and slowly work my way to the yeast theoretical tolerance. First with 1% steps, then in smaller steps. Once I notice the sugar/honey I had doesn't lead to any further fermentation, I will adjust for the sweetness.

It's the first batch I made with some more planning and much more reading beforehand. I really hope it will turn out well.

>The plan is to wait till the all the sugar is used up. Then I will measure the alcohol and slowly work my way to the yeast theoretical tolerance.

I hope you succeed. I tried to do this but found it to be a real pain. A few problems I ran into…

1. Mixing in the honey/sugar. I don't know of a good way to do this with a mash already under way without agitating the whole thing and whipping the dregs back into the body. Transferring it to another pot to heat up (so far the only way I can get honey to stay in solution) seems like it would fuck with the yeast. All of these options seem labor intensive.

2. Measuring the alcohol content with a traditional hydrometer. Seems to open up the mash and increase the drastically odds of contamination compared to set-it-and-forget-it. Was thinking of getting something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Refractometer-GoerTek-Refractometers-Temperature-Compensation/dp/B01G6T11KG/

I do like a very stiff mead, so if you have any luck be sure to let us know.

Hello, people of /asatru/. I'm the board owner of /x/ and this is a formal invitation to join Operation Golden Age.

The problem

You're probably aware that 8chan's community is small and highly fragmented. This is a terrible combination. Small forums work best when they have a small number of sections. Big sites can afford to have many subforums. While we enjoy the freedom to create and customise our own boards, the current model of infinite boards plus a stagnant community has resulted in a situation where the vast majority of boards are not as active as they could be. This is a pity, because imageboards are a great and versatile medium, and out of all imageboards, 8chan has the most potential.

Unfortunately our growth model so far has relied on various waves of exodus from other communities, mainly from 4chan. By its very nature, this model doesn't guarantee constant growth, and actually makes growth almost undesirable, because when it happens it's so big and sudden that the influx of new users can be difficult to manage. What we want is slow and steady growth.

The solution

We need to start spreading the word about 8chan. The keyword here is "we". The administrators won't do it because they don't make any money from this site, so it's not in their best interest to advertise it. The big boards won't do it either because they already enjoy a good number of PPH (posts per hour) and they're scared that any new visitor might ruin their 'culture'. From their point of view, there's nothing wrong with the current state of things. Most boards on the other hand would greatly benefit from a bigger community, but we have to make it happen. We have to realise that if we don't do something about it, nothing will change.

Now, due to the fact that most small boards represent niche interests, broad advertisements won't be particularly effective. Instead of advertising for 8chan as a site, we want to target people who are already interested in our niche. We can do this for free by mentioning our boards in places where our target audience gather. It can bePost too long. Click here to view the full text.

And that's a huge assumption, frankly. Right now his major qualification is that he lives in Iceland and one of his treasonous parents is descended from vikings. Big whoop. If his faceberg likes go away and he starts facing consequences for his "beliefs," will he backpeddle into the land of libshitism? I have a hard time accepting this, tbh fam.

I think Bismark once said something like most wars are initiated by the defenders, because an aggressor simply acts and then expects others to submit without struggle. The war is the victim refusing to submit. if anybody has the exact quote, please let me know A mugger or a rapist doesn't want a fight or a struggle, they just want to get what they want without any risk or harm, as easily as possible. The target is the one who starts fighting. We recognize this for the individual, but fail to see the exact same process occurring on a national or cultural level.

Marxists, Jews, and Christians only get "persecuted" after they subvert a culture. Their persecution is actually the targets of subversion defending themselves with the means available. The Christians are simply crying out as they stab somebody in the back. They attack somebody, then try to deny the victims any claim to defense at all. What an insidious thing it is!

An example of this would be the US South in the 50s and 60s. Protests for desegregation were happening, giving the public the impression that these hippies were trying to bring down the system and desegregate things. Of course, those hippies and activists were the system. The system had already won the war 100 years before that, and these protests were just a means they were using to exert their authority over the south.

Yes, and pagans were their targets. Now is time for round 2. The intercession is over the fight to determine the fate of the European people They've become weak, become complacent. Theyand Islamhave dominated the world religiously for several hundred years now and grown used to no challenge. The end of this great struggle can only come with the death of either all non-Abrahamic religions or with us pushing them back into the lands from whence they came. And as we are few in number i believe we are nearly forced into a guerilla war of sorts.

So I have had personally a few visions and dreams. My friend actually had a dream of me with a white beard saying "I have become Odin". Another time after receiving bad news about a person close to me health I saw a man in the clouds with long hair and long beard (which I took to be Odin). I have dreamt and seen other things. Sometimes my dreams have foretelled the future as well. Does anyone else believe in Precognition or believe in visions?

Another experience I had was walking down the road I gazed up into the clouds and at first I saw a infant with a serpent in his hand struggling against it later the same cloud form turned into a bearded man then the men opened his mouth and there was what looked like a wolf in one of his eyes then the whole thing turned into a wolf eventually it all dissipated.

It seems we all have similar experiences. I've noticed also that some day they can see "snapshots" or very short scenes of the future, and then they happen. For Some, they happen as often as once a week, while others experience them much fewer. Is anyone firmiliar with what anons are experiencing?

Share your experiences here.

I went into the mountains on the 29th (The first night of Winter Nights). Was a cool camping trip went fishing for awhile and got to bbq some hamburgers and hot dogs. Bought some Pecan Beer and pour one into my horn around 9ish. Performed a blot to Thor (From my understanding he is a patron god to farmers so would figure he is important for Harvest). I said some words to Thor took a sip from the horn then pour the rest onto the roots of the biggest Aspen Fir near my campsite. Got the sense of Euphoria (which I get every time I perform a blot). During that night I heard a wolf's howl echoing through the mountains it went on for a few hours. The temperature was supposed to only get to 38 degrees but dropped to like 15 over night. Next morning saw a few Ravens and all throughout my day I saw Ravens even when I got into town I kept seeing Ravens (all through my journey home). Did not what to make of this.

(Pic is of the lake next to my campsite).

Was reading this and tried the part where every time you take a sip you toast a god first. From what I can gather they would toast Odin first and foremost and the last toast they reserved for Freya. I did it on New Year's Eve with some Mulled Wine felt pretty good afterwards.

"This movie is based on an abridgment of Der Mythus des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts and is released for historical and educational purposes. One of the most important and neglected works of political philosophy from the first half of the twentieth century, The Myth has been made accessible to the scholar and lay person alike as never before. Released under Creative Commons License by The Sunwheel Society in 2016, this film will boldly challenge your understanding of religion, life, politics, and philosophy, requiring you to critically assess its ideas as well as your own.

Created directly from a historical document, The Myth is released with the intention of free philosophical inquiry and an accurate understanding of a deeply influential philosophy that has long been misunderstood, even by those who admire the political system it created. Welcome to a new, deeper understanding of history. Welcome to The Myth!"

"Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson: Icelandic Ásatrú has nothing to do with those paths that engage with politics or the doctrines of racial preservation. In fact, I get more hate mail from American so-called Ásatrúers than anyone other religious groups. I think that’s telling. If you think about it, we had no conception of nationhood back in the 9th century, when our values began taking shape. If you read Hávamál, it’s about how to meet other cultures and be a good guest or host to the world around you. These are ancient sayings for the traveller – not for the guy sitting at home on his ass thinking his living room is the centre of the world."

Communism isn't Christian, though. There was a similar redistribution of resources in Acts, when the apostles had a small community of Christians. But everyone gave their belongings willingly, without governmental obligation. That, and nobody held means of production that could be seized or controlled in any way. Calling Communism Christian is a silly meme. Especially when over 80% of the Bolsheviks were Jews, and nearly all Communist states in the present day and in the past have had state policies of atheism and heavily persecuted Christians.
