Did the Norse know about Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto?

Those planets are considered "modern" discoveries, but it seems to me that the Norse probably knew of their existence, because the World Tree has nine worlds and our solar system has nine planets.

Just to take it a step further, I will attempt to match the nine worlds to the nine planets:

Mercury = Asgard. Mercury is the fastest of the planets, and traditionally associated with Odin.

Venus = Alfheim. Venus is the brightest planet from our perspective, and strongly associated with beauty, making it an ideal candidate for the realm of the Light Elves.

Earth = Midgard, duh

Mars = Muspell, because of its fiery color.

Jupiter = Jotunheim, because it's the largest of the planets.

Saturn = Vanaheim, because idk where else Vanaheim might fit

Uranus = Niflheim, because of its icy blue color.

Neptune = Svartalfheim, perhaps because its deep blue hue speaks of ancient wisdom and fabulous treasure.

Pluto = Helheim, because it's frigid and dark and the most "netherworldly" of the planets.

It's interesting how you can match the worlds almost 1:1 to the planets based on their physical appearance, and they end up in pretty much the same order (with Asgard being the highest and Helheim being the lowest, etc.). The only one that doesn't really seem to fit is Vanaheim.

The Norse cosmology says Midgard is surrounded by a wall separating it from the giants of Jotunheim; the solar system has an asteroid belt that separates Earth from the planets known as "giants." There's a lot of parallels here, but I hope I'm not just overthinking it?

I had the same theory too and it does make sense. Even the creation myth from the Eddas has similarities to the big bang. So Norse/Germanic peoples must have had some knowledge of the cosmos. You can even dig further than that and you get into pic related. Which are hats that have been dated to bronze age Europe (Germany and France) and deal with calculating lunisolar cycles according to some scholars.

They also found some sort of Stonehenge like structure in Germany as well called Goseck circle which was dated 49 bc. This structure much like Stonehenge is theorized to have been a solar observatory.

So we know at least in Bronze Age Germany. they were knowledgeable about Astronomy.

Germanic people are people who would have developed their mythology in temporal forests.

Midgard = where you're standing

Alfheim = in the boughs of the tree

Svartalfheim = the dirt at the root of the trees. Vanaheim = finland. because that's where the saami bitches we raped the secrets of seidhr came from. note how seidhr resembles saami shamanic traditions.

Jotunheim = the mountains to the north, because that's where the part of nature that can kill us (jotnar) lives.

Niflheim = the far north…because it's fucking cold up there.

Helheim = wherever you put your dead, be they burned or buried. It is in niflheim, as like the ground, upon or under which your ancestors have gone, is cold – like the far north.

The outer 3 planets cannot be seen without a telescope. you simply have a poor view of the nine worlds.

Europe is the source of white people. Neanderthals had larger brains, fair skin, light eyes, light hair and are native to Europe. The ice age came and drove them out of Northern Europe and they moved like a storm through the lesser mud sapiens, colonizing from Spain to Israel to Western China and ushering in the transition from Neanderthal to the White Race.

When the ice retreated, the 'indo' europeans colonized back into the homelands they left, albeit after significant changes to themselves, and then some time much later the Aryans migrated back out into Persia and India and stayed there and got cucked up.

I would read this one first. It explains the WHY better than other texts which seems to be your primary hurdle. If you can't find it I can upload it to /pdfs/ for you.

Why this one and not other books like "on being a pagan" by benoist first? Because I think this explains genuine belief and actually feeling the gods through you in ritual and practice as opposed to more humanistic, aesthetic or "rational" texts that simply amount to "us=european, these practices and gods=european, other practices and gods!=european, so lets act out this religion for a better fit". Which is true, mind you, but the difference between knowing and liking the idea and actually believing in it or truly feeling it is another matter.

Before reading this title I kind of bounced around as a "heathen" who liked the idea but didn't actually "feel it", and I wish it had been one of my first books instead of certain other ones. (Assuming you actually know your mythology and the names of the gods and the basic framework, otherwise you should go read those first).

hi, i want to do a blot to honour the gods, so i googled doing blots but everything i found was about doing blots in groups. now, most of my friends are not really interested in joining asatru, and most groups where i live are universalist wiccan shits, so how can i do a blot on my own? i've got some stuff to sacrifice (beer, mead, meat ect) but i don't know what to do with it.
