What's an American of mixed European heritage to do when trying to get more involved in paganism?

Should I just kill myself?

American paganism in general just seems pozzed as fuck, and even if I did move to Europe, it's not as if I can lay claim to kinship with people from Ireland or Poland.

>American paganism

Seems like a good opportunity. I don't see a mainstream religion right now that emphasizes strength, family/race, nature, work ethic, and a proper balance of freedom/community. There is a void with potential to be filled here, and america needs its own american gods to fill them.

Hello /asatru/.

Let me just start by saying that I am fairly new here and don't know much about your beliefs. That is not why I am here though. I don't doubt that many of you can make good arguments as to why we Europeans should return to our native religions.

We want to preserve our race - It makes sense to worship the gods of our blood.

The logic is sound and reasonable. But what I want to know is how and why so many people are returning to worshipping the old pantheons in the first place. Obviously, there must be something with what we have currently that makes people reject it. That is christianity. That is what I want to know. How have christianity weakened Europeans? What damage have it done to us as a race, both physically and spiritually? What parts of its teachings and theology goes against our interests?

In short. I want to learn why and what Christianity have done to us. I would make this thread on /pol/, but every time anyone question some of christianity's teachings, the /christians/ sperg and shit up the thread so much that you cannot have a discussion there. It does not help that the mods are on their side either. /pol/ is a Weeb-Christian circlejerk at this point.

Also are there any books out there that goes into this topic?

Very nice argument, but it all boils down to the fact that Bolshevism or Communism tries to make people equal, but people are all hypocrites and thus that fails.

Try seperating the ideeology from human nature.

>Well, day to day religious affairs for the ancients did not focus on the gods outside of warrior god cults. I would argue modern heathenry's preoccupation with deity is an Abrahamic taint. The gods of the Gemranic world view were distant beings, not frequently invested in mankind or individuals meaningfully. Aside from great rulers and warriors, mankind is something of a passing thought to the gods who have their own tribal affairs to tend to, and Yggdrassil itself to order. Unlike Jehova/Allah, who is a personal god deeply invested in his people and handing down invasive moral edicts, the gods of our ancestors had little in the way of moralizing to do and were not likely to notice you. Indeed, it was often better that they didn't. You factor into their machinations much the same way ants do to yours when you're digging up the yard to install a patio.

That's all very nice, but why would I accept the claims beings made here?

I could say that the Gods and their servants are close to us and that the Christian God is distant, that's my experience. So basically you are just saying things and hoping we somehow come to accept them as true.

What does /asatru/ think of the various forms of Celtic based paganism out there? Asking as a Celtic Reconstructionist myself, primarily following the Irish pantheon.

It's interesting to me that the Celtic and Norse peoples had such a mixed relationship, both trading openly and occasionally making war with each other until the christian era.

Celts could not accept that they had been had by Hengist son of Wihtgils and bards of Wales and Cornland still curse him to this day. And so the Celtish turned to the Christ as their only weapon against the Gemanen. Victory at the cost of your own people is not victory, that is why it is complicated but the scar no longer bleeds and that is why I see Celts as Germanics but know how often they don't and don't want to.

Slavs is a difficult tale for how much Communism moved populations all around in their borders there could be "Eastern Germanics" as far as Chukotka keeping the blood well. Further it can easily be seen of Germanic populations within Poland who now see themselves as only Slav, yet use runes. For the Germanics among them when strong enough will remember Atlakvita and do the same or fall into Gap var ginnunga.

There needs to be more space between skin and clothing and this is how all European peoples used packing such as straw to accomplish a decent heat transfer coefficient.

I think that shirt is more for viking larpers rather than those who wish to live in an actual European only country through perhaps viking. Also the Algiz, Tiwaz, Jera and Ing runes make no sense respectively Z, T, J, ng or rearranged in any order makes only gibberish but runemeisters have always gained praise by the one-eyed for writing something that could only make sense to whom who threw an eye down the well as well. Can someone recommend a book on the stars/constellation/zodiacs?

I've recently been fascinated with the constellations lately, the stars just look brighter for some reason and seem far easier to view as one object instead of unrelated dots lately.

Jewgle of course brings up mamy book options, but i would prefer to skip the low garbage and propaganda. Still trying to figure out when the stars were relabeled with their modern interpretation on little dipper and crap instead of ursa major.

I've seen a handful of star constellation images using what i assume is a runic script, namely "orion" being one i don't know the name of.

I'm really not sure where ome group of star signs end and another culture's begin

Meet the Picts - Facial features of ancient pagan native inhabitants of Scotland reconstructed for the very first time by researchers

>Researchers at the University of Dundee in Britain have successfully reconstructed the face of a Pictish man for the first time, offering a valuable insight in the racial ancestry of this otherwise mysterious people who were the original inhabitants of Scotland—and who were so feared by the Romans that the famous Hadrian’s Wall was built to keep them out of the Empire.

The facial reconstruction was made after archaeologists excavating a cave in the Black Isle uncovered the remains of a man who had been murdered more than 1,400 years ago.

The scientists, all from the Rosemarkie Caves Project had been expecting to find some evidence of human occupation of the cave extending back over a long period of time, but they were astonished to find the skeleton of a man buried in a recess of the cave, covered in a layer of sand, a press statement said.

The bones were sent to an expert forensic anthropologist whose team have been able to describe in detail the injuries he sustained as well as digitally reconstruct what he looked like.

A bone sample sent for radiocarbon dating indicates that he died sometime between 430 and 630 A.D., commonly referred to as the Pictish period in Scotland.

The actually important takeaway from this research here is that it disproves the looney kikes who try to tell us that all humans came out of apefreaka and that whites were originally shitskins rather than thulean aryans aka neanderthalensis-derived germanics

The Roman Calendar isn't bad, but the year system is pretty shit - using "Ab urbe condita" for our years wouldn't be too bad either (years since the founding of Rome, we're currently in year 2771).

The Roman calendar is actually pretty pagan.

>January - Janus, Roman god

>February - named after Februa, pagan feast of purification (some debate over this one)

>March - Mars, Roman god

>April - Aphrodite, Roman goddess (some debate over this one)

>May - Maia, Roman goddess

>June - Juno, Roman Goddess

>July - Julius Caesar

>August - Augustus Caesar

>September - number 7 (used to be the 7th month)

>October - number 8 (used to be the 8th month)

>November - number 9 (used to be the 9th month)

>December - number 10 (used to be the 10th month)

Long story short, it's a group of pagans trying to mix paganism with Marxism. Basically. They promote multiculturalism, race mixing, and ofcourse label Stephen McNallen a horrible fascist racist bigot. They seem to have quite a big following on their twitter, surprsingly.

I cannot even begin to describe how much i hate these people.

Also, since I might expect a response in that direction, when anyone wants to know why a Germanic faith is fairly militant and not out-right militant, it's because Wotan creates wars, Donar protects and Freyr sues for peace.

A similar but opposite group is the Order of the Nine Angles. Satanist "Nazis". A disgrace to National Socialists. A truly vile and disgusting group. They are not above advocating ritual murder (I have no reason to disbelieve what I have read) and Uranian homosexual rites. Their initiation ceremony involves adopting a completely opposite role/life to the one you are currently leading (examples include running a brothel). Stay very far away from them.

Does anyone know what happened to that youtube channel which explained slavic folklore critically? It started only a few months ago and went from the creation myths to their gods and archeological findings.

It was a really great channel but it seems to have gone down recently as I can't find any of the videos.

Insight - The True Origins of Kwanzaa, Hanukkah & Christmas

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUDT1L2Iy9I

http://www.redicecreations.com/TV/2015/Insight-Origins-Kwanzaa-Hanukkah-Christmas.php

In the multicultural west we are told to say Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas or these days Happy Holidays as to not offend others. Lana tells about the true origins of newcomer holidays such as Kwanzaa and Hanukkah. Where did these holidays originate? Are they original? Why are they also in December, like Christmas? She'll also talk about the true origins of Christmas, which is entirely borrowed from Yule, the pre-Christian European celebration of the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. Kwanzaa, Hanukkah and Christmas are all imposters, culturally appropriating from the ancient European Winter Solstice celebration. Learn about the myth, symbolism and tradition of Yule.

Red Ice Yule Special - Myths & Forgotten Traditions of the Winter Solstice

In this special Yuletide episode, most of the Red Ice crew – Henrik, Lana, John and Melanie (we missed you, Fredrik!) –joins together to discuss the significance of the winter holiday season today and what this important time of year meant to our ancestors. We talk about our childhood memories of Christmas and family teachings, or lack thereof, of pre-Christian traditions surrounding the winter solstice and return of the sun. Henrik describes the ancient Norse pagan ritual, the Blót, which included sacrificial offerings at Uppsala to the gods Odin and Freya, and Lana tells the mythical story of the Wild Hunt, with the flying 8-legged horse, Sleipnir. We get into the legend of Krampus, the shamanic aspects of Santa Claus, thePost too long. Click here to view the full text.

 No.15661 [Open Thread]

So /asatru/, I have an idea that might be quite beneficial to us.

I would assume that 90% of this board does not think highly of Christianity, and would much rather Christians return to more traditional Aryan religion, whether that specifically be Asatru, the Roman or Greek Pantheons, Hinduism, etc.

We can obviously cite examples such as the crusades against other Europeans, the sack of Constantinople, and the complete Jewery that is present throughout the church's history. However, I think an extremely strong argument against Christians can be made using their own holy book - the Bible.

I used to do a bit of reading in the Bible, and from reading on this page, and on /cucktianity/, I have found several Bible verses which really fuck Christianity in the ass.

So let's use this thread to compile a list of Bible verses that can be used to weaken the hold Christianity has on our Volk. Post anything that could be of value, whether it be scriptures that exalt the Jew or confirm Yeshua's strong Jewish ties, sections of passages that suggest or command degenerate or otherwise harmful behavior (degradation of family values, for instance).

The Christian can argue with psuedo-history and lies all they want, but when their own holy book shows the true nature of their faith, they will struggle to defend it.

>"If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven" (Matthew 19:21)

Self explanatory. Giving away your shit to random poor people isn't going to help you, them, or society as a whole, and even worse, this specific passage can be used to validate Socialism, Marxism, and other degenerate, Jewish, egalitarian concepts.

>“For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law–a man's enemies will be the members of his own household. Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter morePost too long. Click here to view the full text.

>"There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise." (Galatians 3:28-29)

Spiritual communism, basically. Everyone is equal before God, and if you're a Christian, you are a Jew (an heir to Abraham).

>"For the promise that Abraham would be heir of the world was not made to him and his descendants through the Law, but through the righteousness that comes by faith." (Romans 4:13)

The Bible says that Abraham (a Jew) and his descendants (Jews, and Christians) would be the heir to the world. Nice.

Letters to the Romans is believed to have been written from the year 50 to 55

The temple in Jerusalem wasn't even destroyed until 70

Jews who believed in Jesus weren't Christians yet and still worshipped in synagogues with other Jews throughout that century

The text there refers to both Jews who did and those who did not believe in Jesus as a messiah.

There's things in the Bible to point out that aren't good for those who follow xtianity, but making really rebuttable and ill informed meme images isn't how to do it.

The Council of Nicea alone, which was the defining moment of Xtianity, wouldn't happen for another 200 years after that book was written.

You can't just make points based on the text alone without the context and zeitgeist of the image. You have to be smarter than that.

I understand that, but all Christian teachings have come from or are influenced by the Bible in some way or another. Whether it be a specific interpretation of a Biblical scripture that has been labelled as heresy, the concept of the sacraments, etc., all of it leads back to the Bible in some way.

So while attacking various Christian beliefs that happened well after the conception and spread of Christianity may be useful, if we attack and defeat Christianity based on Biblical evidence, one of the core pillars of Christian values will have been broken and shattered. Furthermore, Yeshua-boys use specific scriptures and passages of the Bible out of context for their own use (best example I can think of is a specific verse from Matthew chapter 10 which is used to say, "muh Xtianity is ackchually alpha male and allows violence", even though the immediate following versus are Matthew 10:35-37. which are pretty fucked up), so I don't see an issue with us doing to same, and when many Biblical verses are taken into context, well, it yields a lot more fucked up shit.

So yes, attacking Christianity outside of the context of the Bible is very good, but if we can turn the Bible against hardcore Yeshua-boys, we successfully fracture and break one of the most important pillars of Christian beliefs.

D.R. MacDonald convincingly argues that the passages in Matthew and Luke of Jesus directing a mission to the gentiles was a direct contradiction of his words in the original text, which was the basis for Mark, Matthew, Luke and a few apocryphal texts. Another good quotes is

>Cast not thy pearls before swine.

This directly references us goyim as unclean, non-kosher swine.

Just stumbled upon this on the Odinic Rite site, what does /asatru/ think?

"When Odin took a sip of the poetic mead, Wyrd’s web reverberated throughout the cosmos and set the stage for the enlightenment of our folk. Wisdom, golden in hue, cascaded down from the Allfather, revealing the God force within and around us.

Poetry is divine inspiration. Those in tune act as antennas to something that cannot be understood but which offers a glimpse of Odin Consciousness. It comes from without as much as within.

It is with all this in mind that the Odinic Rite proudly presents our first poetry competition, open to members and friends of the OR."

why post a girl wearing clothing as distorted as the times we live in, accompanied by that last part (whatever it is) with no constructive meaning on a board that tries to preserve the fire/light of the Old Ways?

Don't get me wrong, the girl herself looks cute and all, but do you think she (and the video) fits as a waifu on this board? I'd love to hear why you posted her instead of a more natural/genuine girl.

I like her, she's the epitome of femininity in my book.

My original point was that the whole waifuism thing is a form of degeneracy for most of us anons. Myself included.

The only godess that should exist in our world is freya, instead we project that archetype on actual flawed women.

There's nothing wrong with those traditional girls you post, but they are also putting on a show.

Also I really like poppy
