they were common among huns, scythians, mongols and celts as well, although Germany seems to reveal the majority of them

What does /asatru/ think of the Caucasian paganism revivals? Especially in the Chechens, Abkhazians and Circassians? The situation there speaks to the complexity of our struggle and the difficulty in finding working solutions. I was once looking up Georgia when I read that they make some of their own military vehicles, like very high-tech looking armored vehicles, something you would never expect out of this tiny land surrounded by sheep herders. These people must've been holding the frontline of Europe's land route for centuries. Georgian mythology includes a world tree and ogres but it's thought to have been influenced by other mythologies over time.

Let's have a thread about survivalism in accordance with our beliefs. If you give some thought to it, the germanic farmers from days of yore were pretty much preppers too. Their villages were more or less completely self-sufficient. Everything they needed to live and sustain themselves and their offspring they grew within the viccinity of their settlements. They were very much like northern american natives when it came to using natural resources and leaving next to no residue/pollution behind, in sharp contrast to the romans whose civilization already arrived at spenglerian industrialist proportions by the time they had expanded to the Rine.

I am firmly convinced that if our folk is to survive in the 21st century and beyond, we must embrace the ways of living of our ancestors once more and supplement/fuse it with 21st century technology, like for example 3D printing and electronic information sharing technology, and of course also prepping itself.

Hi, I recently (past 6 months or so) converted to Asatru from christianity, but I honestly don't know much about it other than some of the basics. I've read about half of the Poetic Edda and I've studied Germanic history fairly in depth, but that's about it. I own all the sagas and Eddas and whatnot, but I really need some knowledge on how to practice the religion. What books do y'all suggest to find out what I need to know? I know there are a crap ton of takes on Asatru, and I don't want some new agey, leftist bullshit. Also, anyone have info on Celtic religion?

Its important to have skepticism when comparing India to Germania because the monotheism of Shaivism/Vaishnavism led to incessant race mixing for the Aryans there and caused the corruption of the record, primarily in that the priests ceased to be "White" and lost their connections. The aryan germanic Norsemen believed that every man had his fylgja, follower, a spirit intimately related to him, and that died when he did. The fylgja was often seen in animal shape–an interesting reminiscence of transmigration; for though the belief in the metempsychosis of the human soul had been given up, the idea lingered on and attached itself to the companion spirit. The fylgja showed themselves sometimes in the form of men, but also in that of any beast which represented the character of temperament of the man it followed. Brave men had their companion spirits in the shape of bears or wolves. That of a crafty man appeared as a fox. A timorous man had a fylgja in the form of a hare or a small bird.

In the summer there are leafy vegetables, eggs, and animal milk. All can be fermented for storage.

In the early fall there are fruits and root vegetables for harvest and storage. These can be preserved by fermentation or drying. Nuts can also be picked now

In the late fall almost all domesticated animals are butchered for the winter. Wild animals are also now in season for hunting. Meat is smoked and salted or fermented for storage.

I'm the winter and spring you eat what you have saved all year.
