Let's have a thread about survivalism in accordance with our beliefs. If you give some thought to it, the germanic farmers from days of yore were pretty much preppers too. Their villages were more or less completely self-sufficient. Everything they needed to live and sustain themselves and their offspring they grew within the viccinity of their settlements. They were very much like northern american natives when it came to using natural resources and leaving next to no residue/pollution behind, in sharp contrast to the romans whose civilization already arrived at spenglerian industrialist proportions by the time they had expanded to the Rine.

I am firmly convinced that if our folk is to survive in the 21st century and beyond, we must embrace the ways of living of our ancestors once more and supplement/fuse it with 21st century technology, like for example 3D printing and electronic information sharing technology, and of course also prepping itself.

Here are some good links to get you started on this

>The hyperborean garden - Where the Archetype of the Nordic “Wehrbauer" cultivates his native soil as well as his ancestral blood.

Ancient germanic planting technique: Hügelkultur and Hügelbeds

http://www.urbaniahoeve.nl/2012/06/hugelbedden-hugelkultur/?lang=en

Hügelkultur is a composting process employing raised planting beds constructed on top of decaying wood debris and other compostable biomass plant materials. The process helps to improve soil fertility, water retention, and soil warming, thus benefiting plants grown on or near such mounds.[1][2]

Hügelkultur replicates the natural process of decomposition that occurs on forest floors. Trees that fall in a forest often become nurse logs[3] decaying and providing ecological facilitation to seedlings. As the wood decays, its porosity increases allowing it to store water "like a sponge". The water is slowly released back into the environment, benefiting nearby plants.[1]

Mounded hügelkultur beds are ideal for areas where the underlying soil is of poor quality or compacted. They tend to be easier to maintain due to their relative height above the ground.[3] The beds are usually about 3 feet (0.91 m) by 6 feet (1.8 m) in area and about 3 feet (0.91 m) high.[1]

Found this yahoo entry here which nicely sums up what pagan prepping is all about;

"Many Heathens believe in being prepared for any task or situation which may come. Heathen Preparedness is about skills where people can learn from each other how to do just about anything from cooking to rocket science. It is about people preparing for future disasters and social breakdown. It is about developing people's skills and building tribe. Whether building, plumbing, hunting, preparing and preserving food, farming and growing things, or any other level of preparedness that most can imagine. It is about altyernative living in harmony with nature, and our Gods and Goddesses, and fellow true folk."

Then there's also a facebook group on heathen survivalism with almost 2k likes;

Most Vikings were farmers. Even those who were involved in the raids all over Western Europe, or those who sailed East or West to trade were at heart farmers. These Viking raiders and traders would generally still come home with their profits or with their stolen goods to operate their farms. Considering that most Vikings were farmers it is quite odd that we know so little about their farming practices.

We do know that the main cereal crops in Viking Age Scandinavia were barley, rye and oats. There was also a little bit of wheat farming in Denmark. Wheat was not common throughout the Viking World. That being said there have been a handful wheaten bread discoveries in some of the burial mounds in Birka, Sweden, but there has been no evidence to show that this wheat was grown locally. It could be that wheat was considered a luxury good to these Vikings.

Other important crops were peas, beans, root vegetables and cabbages.

http://www.danishnet.com/info.php/vikings/farming-152.html

Archaeological studies in Denmark have not only uncovered some of the fields where crops were grown, but also traces of some of the agricultural practices that were used.

Viking-age smiths used the process known as riving to reduce a tree trunk to planks or to other useful articles. Rather than sawing the wood, they split it. As a result, the grain of the wood follows the piece being fabricated, creating a much stronger item than if it had been sawn. It's one of several reasons why thin-hulled Viking ships could withstand the rough seas of the North Atlantic.

>An example of battlefield medicine is described in chapter 234 of Óláfs saga helga. Þormóðr was wounded by an arrow in his side. He broke off the shaft and supported his companions in the fight as best he could. After the battle had been lost, he left the field and entered the hut where the healer women were tending the wounded.
>Þormóðr refused the broth. Instead, he directed the woman to cut into the wound to expose the iron arrow head. He grabbed hold of the arrow head with pincers and pulled it out.
>Seeing fatty fibers on the arrow head, Þormóðr said, "See how well the king keeps his men. There is fat by my heart," and he died.

Well, no shit. Asatru as a whole is a prepper religion–in the sagas because we are all preparing for Ragnarok, and in our culture because we know how important it is not to rely on other people and systems we do not control.

My contribution is emergency snow shelters. Who knows, when shit hits the fan it might get cold.

I've only ever used a basic design before, never tried the fancy ones made of blocks. For a simple one, it's easy, just keep in mind:

>Start by building a huge snowdrift, the bigger the better. Don't start digging immediately, give at LEAST 2 hours for it to settle and pack.

>Only dig as much space as you absolutely need, or less. Smaller space is easier to heat with body heat.
>Don't be afraid to cut vent holes. A melting snow shelter will get you wet, and in the true cold wet = dead. You want it to stay just below freezing. If things start to melt cut vents immediately.
>Before you start digging push sticks of a regular length, about as long as your forearm, at intervals directly into the snowdrift. When you're digging it out, stop when you hit them. That keeps it all of uniform thickness.
>Keep your sleeping area raised up. It should never be the lowest surface in the shelter. That's where cold air collects, and water pools.
>Share the warmth. If you're not alone you better fucking not make separate shelters, no matter how awkward it is. Body heat is precious. A small candle or heat source can be used if you are alone.

pic related.

learn writing that works with easily made pens, such as quills and Reed pens.

modern scripts don't work with old square nibbed pen styles, as they were developed for ball-nibbed pens.

learn to make ink and paper, and learn to bind books.

last time we forgot to learn all this, we lost everything but what snorri could scratch out of his ass. learning to write and preserve knowledge is essential to prepping.

I really want to learn about farming vegetables and raising livestock like goats and chickens. How would I find a sustainable source of food for my animals? Let the goats feed off the grass but what of the chickens? Where do I get chicken feed… Also how do I breed enough of each animal to eat them, whilst still having a good population? How many goats and chickens would I have to buy, since only owning 2 means I can't Inbreed the progeny. I'll need some for laying eggs and some for chicken.

I am currently studying joinery at college, so constructing something won't be an issue. But I'll need to learn how to hunt, forage for food and ultimately live entirely off a bit of land. How do I install an irrigation system and a plumbing system? Do I shit in a ditch a fair distance away from where I live? I could live with that easily. I would need to know how to make my own weapons, my own clothes… I am really serious about this and to Intend to live off grid without anybody really knowing about my existence. I'll just up and off one of these days and forgot all of my debt, wagecuck life which I'm yet to live. Still pretty much a NEET.

But how do I then pass on my genes? What girl wants to live alongside me in such poor conditions? To me these conditions will be rich, better than the life of a billionaire. I'll be able to live in harmony with the Gods and nature. But this is not appealing for many of today's females.

Goats will eat any vegetation scraps and weeds, and you can use them pretty effectively to clear plots of land. Dogs will eat any meat scraps. Pigs will eat both.

Chickens eat almost anything, mostly bugs and seeds. A good technique is to move their coop around, or section off a portion of a large coop, to rotate the chickens around and let the bugs and seeds repopulate. Eat all the roosters except one lucky motherfucker. Keep all the hens laying eggs and if they stop or slow dawn, eat them.

Sheep will eat almost any vegetation growing on the land. They will tend to tear out plants by the roots, which can ruin prime pasture. Sheep are great to raise on tough land.

Gerbils and hamsters can be crossbred into gerbster, a meaty rodent valuable after the apocalypse.

>But this is not appealing for many of today's females.

How many females have you discussed this with?

Here is the deal: (and you can’t deny this). War is so apparently on the horizon that if you have not prepared in any way whatsoever, YOU SHOULD DO IT NOW.

I’d bet you think it will cost you thousands and there is a mountain of things you need to do. NOT SO! Super basic survival preparation can be done on the CHEAP.

Let’s assume you are staying where you are – (practically everyone will,) – for virtually all people “bugging out” is just a romantic idea. Let’s be serious here. Ok, so you are staying put. Here is the most basic thing you could ever do that will have zero damage on your image (you won’t “look like a nutter”) and practically ZERO impact on your wallet.

I have given bug out advice in the past. That is not what this is.

You need calories. At the end of the day, that is what it all boils down to. For meat just eat pigeons or whatever, you can forget getting it in war and you can’t really have chickens anywhere in America without a snoot nosed neighbor turning you in. And you have to have them before the war. Damned if you do, and you will be damned without them so accept the catch 22.

Anyway, here is the cheapest solution that will keep you alive possible:

Go to a grocery store, such as Sams Club or (if you are lucky) any other store that sells bulk basics. Did you know you can get a 50 pound bag of flour, all clean and nice and prepared for about $20? Heck, you can even find it for $15 if you are lucky. One of those bags would keep you going for a long time. Get 10 and hide them so no one thinks you are a nutcase. They will hatch bugs in a couple years, but if we are still around in one piece that long from now who cares and a sifter will get the bugs out anyway. With only flour and water, you can make unleavened bread. If tshtf and it all goes crazy, I promise, no street thug is going to take your flour, they don’t know what to do with it and probably would not even know what it was. And you have a gun and bullets already anyway, RIGHT? Better say yes . . . . .

In my opinion, unground wheat is a bad idea because it is difficult to prepare and people are not familiar enough with it. Having a few big bags of rice and oats would be good . . . .

OK, to get it all more edible, it would really help to go out and buy at least five gallons of oil and even though many oils are not the best, ANY OIL AT ALL is a thousand times better than none, just get what you can afford. Salt is cheap, get that. 10 pounds of salt. I’d also get about 20 pounds of BAKING SODA. Do not get baking powder, I MEAN BAKING SODA. If you have oil, salt, and baking soda to go with that flour, you can make survival LUXURY bread. It also would not hurt to have 100 pounds of sugar . . . . remember, the huge bags are CHEAP, they make the small bags (5 pounds and less) look like a total ripoff. Value starts at around 25 pound bags, and sugar is really a good thing to barter with.

No matter how bad things get, if you know a thing or two about plants, you can get enough greens out of your environment. THE KEY TO EVERYTHING IS HAVING BREAD. That is the root of it all, and if you want meat or anything else of the sort after a huge disaster, well, you can have beef jerky food storage fantasies all you want, but if you have not prepared yet it is probably too late for the nice stuff, but you WILL survive on bread. And you will, because you are surviving, find a way to put something on that bread, even if it is just . . . . . . a pigeon.

>War is so apparently on the horizon

Could be anon. A war between the big countries is closer than I've ever seen it before for sure. If it doesn't happen though the brewing civil strife definitely will, in Europe for sure but there's more time to prepare for that even now so you should if you are able.

I'd like to add to your post. If you live rurally or semi-rurally then try and tap into the rural economy, even if it means helping out your local farmers with free labour once in a while or do favours etc. Anything that helps you network and make friends. Farmers and rural people are some of the most resourceful people there are and they have networks that span the entire country.

People often forget the human element when it comes to survivalism and prepping for the worst. Having friendly people around you whom you can trust, even if it's just your neighbours is a big plus in such situations and it's never too late to cultivate solidarity with your own people.

Can I combine the pagan prepping live with a civil engineering job in northwest Europe? I plan on finally buying some (preferably farming) land and buy/build myself a house on it. From there I'd love to use a part of the land to replant trees and use the other half as a garden for vegetables and maybe some dairy. I plan to have around 3 or 4 children.

Is this possible to combine with a job as engineer. I spent years studying for it and even tho I'd love to go /innawoods/ I do not have the money for materials nor experience to do so.

I dont think that paganism=anarcho primitivism.

I'm a 24 year old guy who lives in a rural area in a small apartment. I wanna get more into the prepping lifestyle, but i don't really know eher to start. I was raised around animals and always close to nature, so it's not really that intimidating for me. I just don't know where to start, that's all.

End goal is obviously to buy land but for now there are somethings you can do

1. look to see if there are any community gardens in your area

2. get to know people who own land and see if they are willing to loan you some unused portion

3. start saving seeds

4. buy all of your food in as unprocessed a form as you can to practice the butchery/cookery aspect

>1. look to see if there are any community gardens in your area

I think there actually might be

>2. get to know people who own land and see if they are willing to loan you some unused portion

That's going to be tough. The farmers in my area are already hard pressed as is, but maybe i could offer them help, just to familiarize myself with farm life some more

>3. start saving seeds

Which kind would be ideal?

>4. buy all of your food in as unprocessed a form as you can to practice the butchery/cookery aspect

I'm a pretty good cook (thanks mom) so i'm not too worried about that

As i write this, i've also started storing water and food in my apartment, as well as gathered useful tools, medical supplies, etc. In a backpack.

You need to have a plan written down: Where will you get water from? How will you generate electricity? How will you grow your own food? You need to have the mindset that everything is back in the dark ages.

Start work on a simple hydroponics system. Grow lots of food in pots in your apartment, start with common vegetables, plant a shitload of them. Start breeding rabbits on your balcony. Build a solar still or a water collector if you can put it on the roof of your building (add minerals before drinking distilled water).

There are a lot of things you can do but you need to be willing to reinvent the wheel a lot. You will need to either spend time building or spend money buying the things you need to become self-reliant.

when saving seeds (or planting a garden) think about what veggies you like to eat. Then, go to a farmer's market and buy what you like. Eat those things (but not the seeds of course). Plant the seeds when you are able to. Or, if you won't be able to plant them for a few seasons (seeds can last years) then plant them in random places to improve the world around you.

Haven't seen this topic being discussed here.

Is Varg right in assuming that weight lifting is pointless for a survivalist lifestyle? Would, say, training like a soldier be more beneficial in the long run?

Consuming a big amount of calories does seem counterproductive if your aming to live "off grid" but the benefits of weight lifting can't be denied.

I sincerely hope you guys don't think something is better just because the word "Volk" is in front of it. With banking, unless you're advocating for decentralized full-reserve banking run exclusively by Aryans, then you're either just reinventing the wheel and fucking around with something you know nothing about, or you're taking something Jewish and rebranding it as "Volk", eg: "Volk communism, dude!".

>Volk-techno-cities

Now this is worth thinking about. How do you take the spiritually and culturally barren minimalism of modern civilization, and transform it into something that is brimming with Aryan culture?
