Is it possible to be volk/an ideal Asatru with a disgraceful family and one known ancestor that brought shame to the family name? Long story short everyone, but my mom, cousin, and his wife aren't flawed in some way or another. Yet, my cousin's wife reads erotica/romance novels.

The gods don't care what your ancestors did. They care what YOU're doing, right now. If you live an honorable life, and reflect well on your living relatives so that they might be inspired to do good; then that's all that really matters.

The ancestors you venerate are long dead. You carry the torch they passed on to you. The people in your immediate family are important, but not quite in the same way. You need to take care of them, and they can bring shame to you, but they're not the same as your primordial ancestors.
Worrying about romance novels is Calvinist lunacy, though. If that's the biggest problem in your life, you have luck beyond measure.
