When it overtook its social media rival, MySpace, even then few could have predicted that Facebook would grow into the big tech behemoth that it is today.

Moreover, who would have thought that a geeky billionaire named Mark Zuckerberg would become powerful enough to literally decide the outcome of presidential elections?

And yet, that’s what he did last fall.

Zuckerberg donated more than $400 million in “election grants” to counties mostly in key battleground states where D.C. establishment lawyers, PACs, lobbyists and operatives from both sides of the aisle stole Donald Trump’s shoo-in reelection.

Trump was sure to have some difficulties, we believed, because Democratic mayors and governors helped destroy his massively successful economy and blamed a Chinese-borne virus on him. But given the massive outpouring of support everywhere the former president went — and places he didn’t go that still saw massive Trump vehicle and boat parades — his reelection looked certain.

Biden, by comparison, along with his VP pick Kamala Harris, couldn’t draw flies to a BS contest. Virtually no one came out to see them at the limited rallies they did. Harris was so unimpressive to Democratic voters she was one of the first to drop out of the crowded Democratic presidential field. And Biden stayed in his basement for much of the campaign, limiting his exposure to gaffes, forgetful moments and times when he clearly couldn’t think straight or enunciate clearly.

CBS’s Junk Poll Claiming “85% Approved of Biden’s Speech” Interviewed Only 169 Republicans Out of 1,000 Viewers

Fake News CBS proudly released a poll Thursday claiming 85% of Americans approved of dementia Joe’s address to a joint session of Congress Wednesday night.

“Most viewers who tuned in to watch President Biden’s speech liked what they heard and came away feeling optimistic about America.” CBS reported.

The poll is a big lie.

CBS interviewed 10,420 US adults and then cut it down to about 1,000 viewers for their sample.

Of the 943 people, 54% were Democrats (510 viewers), 25% were Independents (235 viewers) and 18% were Republicans (169 viewers).

In other words, CBS made sure their “poll” gave them their desired results favorable to Joe Biden.

In a stunningly duplicitous story aimed at shoring up the response to Biden’s speech, CBS claimed on television and on their website: “Most viewers who tuned in to watch President Biden’s speech liked what they heard and came away feeling optimistic about America.”

What they didn’t tell their viewers, nor readers, is that the poll was wildly biased towards self-identifying “Democrats” and traditionally left-leaning “Independents” and self-described “Moderates”.

US, Israel Agree to Create Working Group to Counter Iranian Drones, Missiles

US and Israeli officials met in-person at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC, on Tuesday to discuss Iran's alleged nuclear endeavors and share so-called sensitive information that, due to security concerns, could not be discussed in a virtual meeting.

US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Israeli National Security Adviser Meir Ben-Shabbat, and several other US and Israeli officials agreed that the two nations should form an inter-agency working group to counter the "growing threat of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Precision Guided Missiles produced by Iran and provided to its proxies in the Middle East Region."

According to the White House readout on the April 27 meeting, the government officials also concurred that "Iran's aggressive behavior" in the Middle East poses a significant threat.

Based on this determination, US officials communicated that US President Joe Biden and his administration have "unwavering support for Israel's right to defend itself."

Prior to Tuesday's meeting, Sullivan and Ben-Shabbat's bilateral strategic group met twice in virtual meetings. Per Israeli media reports, officials called for an in-person meeting to share sensitive information.

"The United States updated Israel on the talks in Vienna and emphasized strong US interest in consulting closely with Israel on the nuclear issue going forward," the readout detailed.

The consultations likely relate to the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which has been the subject of several meetings in Vienna, Austria.

The Supreme Court on Monday decided to take up a major, National Rifle Association (NRA)-backed lawsuit that challenges a New York law restricting an individual from carrying a concealed handgun in public. It has been more than 10 years since the Supreme Court weighed in on a significant case involving the Second Amendment, coming in the wake of President Joe Biden’s and top Democrats’ recent push for more gun-control initiatives including bans on so-called “ghost guns,” proposing models for “red flag” laws, and expanding and lengthening background checks. “The petition for a writ of certiorari is granted limited to the following question: Whether the State’s denial of petitioners’ applications for concealed-carry licenses for self-defense violated the Second Amendment,” reads a brief order from the high court on Monday.

Over the years, the NRA and other gun rights groups have criticized the Supreme Court for not taking up any major lawsuits relating to the Second Amendment. In 2008, the court said for the first time that the Second Amendment protects Americans’ rights to keep and bear arms for self-defense at home. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, considered possibly the most conservative justice, wrote several years ago that courts have engaged in a “general failure to afford the 2nd Amendment the respect due an enumerated constitutional right.” Going further, he wrote: “If a lower court treated another right so cavalierly, I have little doubt that this court would intervene … The 2nd Amendment is a disfavored right in this court.” Justice Brett Kavanaugh, after the court dismissed a gun case last term, wrote in early 2020 he hopes the court will take up a Second Amendment-related challenge in the near future, writing: “The Court should address that issue soon, perhaps in one of the several Second Amendment cases with petitions for certiorari now pendinPost too long. Judge Grants Jewish Sailor Temporary Reprieve After Navy Orders Him to Shave Beard

A federal judge on Thursday temporarily postponed orders a deployed sailor was facing to shave his beard – an order he says infringes on his religious rights.

Electrician's Mate (Nuclear) 3rd Class Edmund Di Liscia, a Hasidic Jew aboard the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt, was counseled Thursday and ordered to shave his beard by Friday. Di Liscia previously obtained an accommodation allowing him to wear a beard in uniform for religious reasons, but was told by his ship's command that the rule had been overridden.

Di Liscia wrote in his counseling record that being ordered to shave violates his religious practices. He called the order to shave "extremely humiliating and deeply jarring to my psyche and soul."

A request for a temporary restraining order was then filed Thursday on Di Liscia's behalf in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. The temporary restraining order would prevent the Defense Department from being able to force the sailor to shave his beard.

As a devout Hasidic Jew even before he joined the Navy, Di Liscia "sincerely believes that he must maintain a beard to comply with his religious obligations," the documents state. However, failing to shave, or refusing to allow himself to be shaved, would put him in violation of a direct order, it adds, which could lead to "substantial punishment" from the Navy.

"Within this form of Orthodox Judaism, it is a religious requirement and an expression of obedience and fidelity to God for men not to cut the side and edges of their hair," the court documents state. Well, what happened was, I had gone to graduate school and I thought I was going to be a local news reporter, and I liked covering politics, but I was surprised at what I thought was an institutional media bias against Republicans and conservatives. I didn't even really think I was a conservative. And I can see issues from both sides; I don't feel too strictly partisan. But I did notice it, and I would just hear things that I thought was so unfair.

But the real reason I left local news was that I realized I couldn't hack it.Part of it was that the climb up the ladder seemed so arduous back then and the pay was terrible. And really, if you think about the three network jobs — ABC, NBC, CBS is really all that exists all the time. CNN had just started. They were all held by men and they had been the same job since I was a teenager, so I just didn't see a path up.

But then one day I got asked by the newsroom to go cover a trial that was starting that day, and there was a woman who was a mother of a 2-year-old, and that child was killed by a friend of hers, and I was supposed to go to the courthouse and try to get an interview with her'. A BBC weather presenter who allegedly called the corporation 'the devil' and is said to have attended two anti-lockdown marches led by Piers Corbyn has left her job.

Jemma Cooper, who was best known for her regular appearances on Bristol's Points West Programme, no longer works for the BBC where she has been employed since 1999.

It comes as the 49-year-old has been convicted of drink driving, after being found over twice the legal limit behind the wheel on August 31 last year.

It is not clear whether her departure from the corporation where she has worked for 20 years was a result of her quitting, or her contract being terminated. The BBC declined to clarify when approached for comment by MailOnline.
