Federal cybersecurity agencies addressed original equipment manufacturers of networking gear and stressed the importance of establishing trust through the hardware level in their latest guidance on securing the largely virtualized computing architectures that are expected to reign in the future.

“Moving up from the hardware device level, ensuring the integrity of the container stack (worker nodes, Kubernetes cluster and containers) is critical for preventing attacks and denying cyber actors the ability to persist,” reads guidance issued by the National Security Agency and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Thursday.

The document on ensuring the integrity of cloud infrastructure and resources—such as image files referred to as containers because they carry all the code necessary to run an application—is the final installment of a four-part series the agencies produced on 5G security.

Other publications in the series dealt with detecting and preventing lateral movement across networks, effectively isolating network resources and protecting data while in-transit, in-use and at-rest.

The international operation to trace the internet paedophiles began in San Jose, California, in May 1996, when the police discovered that a child abuser had broadcast live images on the internet to a paedophile ring called the Orchid Club.

Among its subscribers was a man in his twenties who lived in East Sussex.

Investigating the leads, Sussex police found not only child pornography linked to the Orchid Club, but also a larger and more sinister paedophile network calledWonderland.

An expansive and intensifying storm is unleashing an array of hazardous weather to a broad swath of the lower 48 states on Wednesday, from 100 mph winds in Colorado to record warmth and the potential for tornadoes in Iowa.

Why it matters: The storm has already set all-time high temperatures for the month of December, as readings soar into the 70s all the way to the Iowa-Minnesota border. Its winds could knock out power to more than 100,000 people and complicate cleanup efforts from the devastating weekend tornadoes in Central states.

Threat level: A tornado watch is in effect for about 4 million people in portions of Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota and South Dakota until 8 pm Central Time.

The Storm Prediction Center says "a few tornadoes" are likely with "a couple of intense tornadoes possible." Damaging winds are expected to be widespread, with "isolated gusts to 90 mph" possible.

High winds are the main hazard for most people affected by this storm system, posing the greatest risk to the power grid as well as travel. The National Weather Service is warning that some areas, including parts of Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas, could see winds that clock in among the top 10 or even top 5 strongest gusts on record.

Winds have been extremely intense in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, as the air descends and accelerates, generating turbulent waves and eddies.

Because as WSJ reports, Wall Street’s primarily regulator is putting forward slightly tighter rules on how and when corporate insiders - and presumably Fed officials - can sell their companies’ stocks.

I found some more information on Tamera Luzzatto and her family members, all from sources freely available on the internet.

Tamera Luzzatto, who also sometimes calls herself Grand Tam, is the lady who appeared to be ‘pimping out’ her 3 step-grandchildren at a pool party in the ‘pedogate’/Podesta emails, and who made a blog page for the newborn 4th and youngest, called ‘Evie’s Crib’ in which she extended an open invite to readers to, ‘for a limited time only’, ‘spend some time with her online, raw and uncut.’

Pearl Harbor military families report sickness due to fuel in local tap water

Municipal water has reportedly caused illness symptoms in numerous families.

Multiple military families stationed at Naval Station Pearl Harbor have recently reported becoming ill after drinking local tap water that was contaminated with petroleum.

The Navy confirmed late this week that one of its wells had been contaminated with fuel. Officials said they would flush the system clean to ensure the petroleum was removed from supply pipelines.

The process will reportedly take up to two weeks. None of the fuel leaked into the environment, the Navy said.

Families in the area reported symptoms such as nausea and stomach cramps after drinking local water.

The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 breech on the Capitol voted to recommend contempt charges against Jeffery Clark, a Department of Justice attorney under former President Donald Trump.

Clark was fiercely loyal to former President Donald Trump, and was deeply concerned about election fraud. Trump apparently considered installing Clark as acting attorney general.

The committee will hold a second hearing for Clark on Saturday, and the committee's recommendation will be forwarded to the House for a vote.

According to The Hill, when Clark spoke in front of the committee on Nov. 6, he and his attorney “largely refused to answer the committee’s questions.”

Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss) said, “If you want to know what contempt of Congress really looks like, read the transcript of Mr. Clark’s deposition and his attorney’s correspondence with the Select Committee. Because what you find there is contempt for Congress and for the American people.”

Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh on Wednesday repeatedly indicated he would be open to overturning “settled law,” including Roe v. Wade, citing a long list of past Supreme Court cases that had been ruled against precedent.

Those cases, Kavanaugh said, included Brown v. Board of Education, which outlawed the “separate but equal” doctrine; Baker v. Carr, which set the stage for one person, one vote; West Coast Hotel v. Parrish, which recognized the state’s authority to regulate business; and Miranda v. Arizona, which required police to give Miranda warnings about the right to remain silent and have an attorney present to suspects in criminal custody.

“If we think that the prior precedents are seriously wrong … why then doesn’t the history of this court’s practice with respect to those cases tell us that the right answer is to return to the position of neutrality?” Kavanaugh at one point asked Center for Reproductive Rights attorney Julie Rikelman, who is representing the abortion provider suing Mississippi’s new law that bans most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

Abstract

Evidence is evolving that support the relationship that all carcinomas exhibit the following important relationships: The malignant cells exhibit a significant decreased zinc compared to the normal cells. The higher zinc levels that exist in the normal cells are cytotoxic in the malignant cells. The decrease in zinc is due to the down regulation of the ZIP-family zinc uptake transporter. These cells are as "ZIP-deficient/decreased zinc" malignancies. This provides a target for a chemotherapy that can restore the high zinc levels that will manifest cytotoxic effects in the malignant cells. In order to achieve this, a vehicle that facilitates the uptake and accumulation of zinc in the ZIP-deficient cells is required. The zinc ionophore, clioquinol, exhibits the properties that will provide these requirements. This is demonstrated by the treatment of a patient with 3% Clioquinol Cream, which successfully suppressed the progression of androgen-dependent prostate cancer. This treatment should also be efficacious for pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer, thyroid cancer, kidney cancer, stomach cancer, gall bladder cancer, and lung cancer; which are carcinomas that exhibit decreased zinc. Thus, it is appropriate to describe that "Zinc is the wonder drug for the treatment of carcinomas".

Former Labour peer Lord Ahmed of Rotherham faces charges of buggery of a boy under 11, the indecent assault of a boy under 11, and two counts of attempted rape of a girl under 16 at Sheffield Crown Court.

64-year-old Nazir Ahmed, who was elevated to the House of Lords by then-Prime Minister Tony Blair in 1998 after having served as a Labour Party councillor, chaired the South Yorkshire Labour Party, founded the British Muslim Councillors’ Forum, and been appointed a lay magistrate, is alleged to have carried out the crimes in the 1970s.

“This is about repeated sexual abuse that took place in Rotherham over a number of years,” said Tom Little QC for the prosecution, in comments quoted in court reports.

“Those involved kept it buried away for many years. It is no longer buried away and no longer kept quiet as they have complained,” he continued.

“This was not a single incident. It was not isolated and it was not innocent sexual experimentation by children. It was abuse, repeated abuse, plain and simple,” Little alleged, praising the female complainant who went to the authorities about Ahmed’s alleged abuse for having “had the courage to go to the police to make a complaint against a standing member of the House of Lords,” as Ahmed was at the time.

In an effort to support the prosecution’s position that the allegations are not “made-up or concocted”, Little played a recording of a telephone conversation between Ahmed’s alleged victims, which has been quoted by the BBC and other news outlets.

Mamie Mitchell, the script supervisor on set when Baldwin shot and killed Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza on Oct. 21, is suing the actor, the movie production company and others for assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress and deliberate infliction of harm. Mitchell and her attorney, Gloria Allred, are set to announce the suit during a press conference.

“Alec Baldwin intentionally, without just cause or excuse, cocked and fired and loaded gun even though the upcoming scene to be filmed did not call for the cocking and firing of a firearm,” Mitchell claimed in the lawsuit.

She also said every safety protocol designed to ensure safety with a firearm on set was ignored, such as the presence of live ammunition on set, and that “actions that were taken” that day “were against all industry norms.”
