According to a recent report, studies show that Facebook’s newsfeed algorithms targeted users with low digital literacy skills and purposefully sent them violent, disturbing, and sexually explicit content.
USA Today reports that two years ago, researchers at Facebook conducted a five-question survey that was aimed at assessing Facebook users’ digital literacy skills. The survey tested how well users understood Facebook’s app interface and online terms like “tagging” on social media.

Black Lives Matter took to Twitter to respond to Kyle Rittenhouse's words of support, referring him to Big Sean's track "I Don't F**k With You".

Update (1557ET): Federal prosecutors say they aren't offering Ghislaine Maxwell a plea deal ahead of her sex-trafficking trial slated to begin next week.
According to the NY Post, Judge Alison Nathan asked prosecutors as well as Maxwell's attorneys whether a plea deal had been offered, to which Assistant US Attorney Maurene Comey - the daughter of former FBI chief James Comey - replied "None were communicated."
Maxwell was in the courtroom Tuesday, exchanging greetings with her team of lawyers and occasionally sipping from a disposable coffee cup as her legal team hashed out trial logistics with the group of four prosecutors.
Among the issues raised was that Maxwell’s attorneys have subpoenaed a lawyer who represents a victim in the case, identified in the indictment against Maxwell as “Minor Victim-4.” -NY Post
Maxwell's attorneys, meanwhile, have been ordered to submit briefs over the potential witness, who she allegedly met when the victim was 14-years-old.

Faith groups that provide early childhood care have raised the alarm that while President Joe Biden boasts his “Build Back Better” plan offers “free” preschool, those federal dollars will come with strings attached: forced LGBTQ activist curricula.
The White House’s “Fact Sheet” on the $1.75 trillion Build Back Better social policy plan states:
President Biden’s plan offers access to free preschool for all 3- and 4-year old children, providing parents access to high-quality programs in the setting of their choice, from schools to child care providers and community-based organizations to Head Start.
A report at the New York Times, however, observed the concerns of faith-based groups that provide early childhood care, as it noted the bill’s “nondiscrimination provision” could “disqualify some religious organizations, which provide more than half of child care programs in the United States.”
According to a national poll conducted in December 2020 by the Bipartisan Policy Center, 53 percent of working-parent households used a childcare program affiliated with a faith organization.
The Center noted:
Faith-based organizations are in a powerful position. They have a strong infrastructure and understand the needs of their communities. Faith leaders are uniquely positioned to share information about child care and advocate for children and families. Whether hosting a colocated child care program or operating a child care facility, faith-based organizations can shape families’ experiences and perceptions of early care and education.
But the House’s approval of the bill sparked strong resistance to its promise of federal dollars in exchange for teaching children radical leftwing curriculum disguised as “equity” and “nondiscrimination.”
Centers run by the Catholic Church and large Orthodox Jewish groups, for example, say, if the bill becomes law, they will be forced to choose between accepting federal childcare dollars and continuing to teach the tenets of their respective faiths and hiring staff who adhere to their faith beliefs as well.

New Report Reveals Jeffrey Epstein Called His Girlfriend Right Before Death
Financier and alleged sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein had a 15-minute phone conversation with his girlfriend Karyna Shuliak before committing suicide in his cell, The New York Times reported Tuesday.
Epstein reportedly lied to the prison officials about calling his mother, who had died in 2004, dialing instead his 30-year-old girlfriend Shuliak, three people with knowledge of the phone conversation told the NYT.
During the phone call the convicted sex offender did not in any way reveal an intention to end his life, according to the report.
The unit manager at the detention center assisted Epstein in making what was referred to as a “social” phone call in a 15-page psychological reconstruction of Epstein’s death obtained by the NYT.
“I asked inmate Epstein who he was calling. He stated his mother,” the unit manager reportedly wrote.
This call, however, was missing in the phone logs provided to the NYT by the Bureau of Prisons. The provided documents also did not indicate if Epstein’s last call was on a monitored line.
The only social call Epstein made throughout his time at the detention center was to Shuliak more than a week earlier, the logs showed, the NYT reported.
Shuliak, whom Epstein reportedly helped put through dental school, is one of the largest beneficiaries of several trusts the accused child sex trafficker established over the years, according to the NYT.
Epstein had signed a will two days before the apparent suicide, putting all of his holdings amounting to $577,672,654 in The 1953 trust.

Tollbooth records belonging to former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik place him 300 miles away from the infamous January 5th meeting at the Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C., with a legal letter (below) seen by The National Pulse accusing Rep. Bernie Thompson’s commission of fabricating the evidence.
Thompson’s Jan. 6th commission recently subpoenaed Kerik, a close associate of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Their letter asserted:
The Select Committee’s investigation and public accounts have revealed credible evidence of your involvement in the events within the scope of the Select Committee’s inquiry. You reportedly participated in a meeting on January 5, 2021 at the Willard Hotel in Washington D.C., in which Rudolph Giuliani, Stephen Bannon, John Eastman, and others discussed options for overturning the results of the November 2020 election such as, among other things, pressuring Vice President Pence not to certify the electoral college results…
Kerik’s lawyers at the Parlatore Law Group struck back Tuesday, however, insisting:
We knew from the time that we received the subpoena that this was a false allegation, as Mr. Kerik never participated in any such meeting. He wasn’t even in Washington DC, as he was in New York dealing with a family medical emergency. While we knew at the time that the claim was false, we later found out that it was actually a fabrication.
This passage in your letter had a footnote, citing two sources for this allegation, Bob Woodward’s book, Peril, as well as a Washington Post article. However, a review of both cites quickly demonstrates that no such allegation was ever made. The Washington Post article does discuss Mr. Kerik’s involvement in investigating fraud, but makes no mention of this alleged meeting, whereas Woodward’s book does not claim that Mr. Kerik was at the meeting. In fact, a text search of Woodward’s book reveals that the word “Kerik” isn’t even mentioned once.

More German Politicians Support Making COVID-19 Vaccinations Mandatory
A growing number of politicians in Germany are backing the idea of a general COVID-19 vaccination obligation, with some ministers saying the measure would be a “last resort” option, but a possibility.
Debates over compulsory vaccinations in the country have accelerated after neighboring Austria recently reimposed a full lockdown and also announced plans to require COVID-19 vaccinations for its entire population as of February.
Germany’s outgoing health minister Jens Spahn said on Tuesday he does not rule out similar steps, although final decisions will depend from region to region.
Spahn, who has recently been hit with backlash over a comment he made on Nov. 22, claiming by the end of the winter almost everyone in Germany would be either “vaccinated, recovered, or dead,” said making the shots a requirement is “not a decision we can make today,” but the possibility is not ruled out.
Karl Lauterbach, a German scientist and member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), argued during a talk show on the TV station Bild that the country “must move towards vaccination obligation,” The Local reported.
“Without compulsory vaccinations, we obviously won’t achieve the vaccination rate we need to get to,” he stressed.
Stephan Weil, the minister-president of Germany’s Lower Saxony region, said making vaccines mandatory is a “violation of physical integrity” and can thus only be implemented as a “last resort” option.
“There is a legal dispute on this issue at the moment. Critics indicate two points. First of all, there are no long-term studies. Secondly, and this needs to be taken more seriously: mandatory vaccination is a violation of physical integrity, so it can only be a last resort,” Weil said during a news conference, news agency ANI reported.
About 68 percent of the population in Germany is fully vaccinated, with some 7.3 percent of citizens already having received the third shot. The country is currently facing a fourth wave of CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus infections, which prompted more politicians to debate a government-imposed measure making COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory.
Klaus Holetschek, Bavaria’s minister of health, said he previously was against making COVID-19 vaccinations a requirement for the general population, but he now believes officials must talk about this measure and use it as a last resort. Bavaria is located in southeast Germany and is reported by health authorities as one of the worst-hit federal states in the country.

Laundrie was found dead in Florida nature preserve, the FBI confirmed in late October, after running away from home.
Laundrie returned to his family’s home in Florida without Petito in September after the couple was traveling together on a cross-country road trip. The case sparked national interest and authorities later found Petito’s body in Wyoming. A corner later confirmed she died by strangulation in a homicide.

On Tuesday Alex Jones released a video on Infowars. Jones told his supporters there is no way he will testify behind closed doors in front of the demons on the committee. Alex does not intend on spending the rest of his life in prison because of Adam Schiff’s lies. Alex added that he will plead the fifth.
Alex insists the only way he will testify is if they air the entire struggle session on CSPAN where they cannot lie about his words.

A hacked memo published Wednesday by WikiLeaks sheds new light on the previously reported connections between the Clinton Foundation and a corporate consulting firm run by two longtime allies of the Clinton family.
Plenty of ink has been spilled on how onetime Clinton aide Douglas Band and Declan Kelly, who worked for Hillary Clinton’s State Department, leveraged their connections to the former first family to attract investors to their firm, Teneo. Teneo clients were invited to attend annual meetings of the Clinton Foundation’s Clinton Global Initiative event, and the consulting firm used those meetings as an opportunity to recruit even more new clients.
The documents published by WikiLeaks this week purported to show that these intimate ties between Teneo and the Clinton Foundation made some in Clintonland deeply uneasy, fearing that they could lead to allegations of quid pro quo. One memo released Wednesday describes in detail how Band encouraged Teneo clients to donate to the Clinton Foundation, and pushed those donors to provide consulting contracts and paid speaking engagements for Bill Clinton.

Who first reported on Teneo-Clinton Foundation ties and when
Founded in 1997, the Clinton Foundation came under intense scrutiny from news organizations when Hillary Clinton joined the organization following her tenure as secretary of state. As early as 2013, The New York Times and the New Republic published investigations into the overlap between Teneo and the foundation, highlighting the work that Band and Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton’s closest aide, did for both Teneo and the State Department simultaneously. That year, the Republican-led Senate Judiciary Committee began investigating whether the consulting firm had improper access to senior government officials in Clinton’s State Department.
The WikiLeaks documents appear to reinforce many conflicts uncovered in previous coverage of the links between Teneo and the Clinton Foundation. The New York Times reported in August 2013 that some at the foundation were uncomfortable with Band’s dual efforts to attract new donors to Teneo, which was founded in 2009, and help to build up the foundation’s coffers.

How a Clinton insider used his ties to build a consulting giant
Hillary gave a special State Department post to an ex-fundraiser — even as he was laying the groundwork for a global firm with ties to her husband called Teneo.
When Hillary Clinton became secretary of state she personally sought out a man named Declan Kelly to be her economic envoy to Northern Ireland, giving her 41-year-old former fundraiser a special status outside normal diplomatic channels.
“Yeah! Is he now official? Can I call him? Can I ask him to start?” she wrote in an Aug. 28, 2009 email to her chief of staff, Cheryl Mills.
By some measures, Kelly was a bargain for the government. The Ireland-born businessman refused a salary, hired five staffers on his own dime and pushed for U.S. companies to invest in the once-troubled region, a diplomatic priority for Clinton.
But while serving as Clinton’s special envoy, reaching out to global corporations for those investments, he was also working for two of them as a private consultant — earning about $2.4 million from Dow Chemical, a longtime client of his and one of the firms that participated in Clinton’s Ireland initiative.
It was also during this time period that Kelly and Doug Band, a close aide to former President Bill Clinton, were preparing to launch a global consulting business that would soon become a well-known and controversial success story. The fact that Kelly and Band were laying the groundwork for their enterprise while Kelly was working for the State Department, reported here for the first time, represents a fresh illustration of the blurring of the lines between Hillary Clinton’s political network and her State Department that critics have long noted. And it shows how one enterprising fundraiser was able to insinuate himself into Clinton's inner circle and then built a 500-person, multinational consulting firm whose value, at least at first, was greatly enhanced by its founders’ closeness to the Clintons.
Manhattan-based Teneo has been a center of palace intrigue for years because of its proximity to the former first family. And in its early days, Teneo directly benefited the couple themselves, though the company emphasizes that it no longer has those ties.
Bill Clinton got involved in Kelly’s work early on. Sidney Blumenthal, a longtime Hillary confidant and adviser to the Clinton Foundation, proposed the idea of a CGI event featuring the former president and Irish ministers in the fall of 2009. According to an Irish Times account of the event, Kelly also pitched Bill on the session in New York.
Hillary loved it: “I think this is a good idea and see no conflict,” she emailed senior aides, adding Band on the list. At least one adviser, Mills, urged caution, writing back, “Let’s discuss — I can see how they might feel differently.” And though it’s not clear who “they” meant, the CGI panel occurred that fall, with Kelly joining President Clinton and the Irish ministers onstage.
Kelly and his staff, meanwhile, created a U.S.-Northern Ireland mentoring program for Irish youth, arranging internships with American companies. Two of the first to sign up were Coca-Cola, Kelly’s longtime client, and UBS, which was then working with Paul Keary’s company and would soon join the Teneo fold.

Tucker Carlson Tonight's exclusive Monday night interview with recently-acquitted 18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse was revealed to draw in millions more viewers than left-wing cable news competitors CNN and MSNBC.
According to Deadline reporter Ted Johnson, Carlson's interview with Rittenhouse drew in over 5 million viewers total according to Nielsen research. Competing shows in the same time slot from MSNBC and CNN drew in 1.17 million and 762,000 viewers respectively.
