Having personally witnessed the killings, Loan needed no further reason to justify the execution, but the prisoner proudly admitted to the deed anyway.

COVID vaccination site closes early after adverse reactions to Johnson & Johnson shot

Thirteen people at a COVID-19 vaccination site in Colorado had adverse reactions to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine on Wednesday — shutting down operations for the day, a report said.

Officials did not disclose the types of reactions suffered by less than 1 percent of the more than 1,700 people given shots at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, The Denver Gazette reported.

The vaccination effort was being sponsored by the state and Centura Health. More than 600 people with appointments Wednesday were unable to receive their vaccinations after the early closure.

Queensland man allegedly uploaded child abuse material online

A Queensland man is facing 15 years jail for allegedly uploading child abuse material to the internet after a joint investigation with law enforcement in America.

The man's home in Gailes, Ipswich, was searched earlier this year after a report from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children in the United States indicated a person from Queensland was using a Google account to upload abuse material.

He's facing Brisbane Magistrates Court today after police allege they found two laptops, an iPad and five USBs containing child abuse material.

Three mobile phones and two external hard drives were also located and seized for forensic analysis.

The man was charged with three counts of possessing child abuse material obtained or accessed using a carriage service and five counts of possessing child exploitation material, as well as unrelated state offences.

The maximum penalty for these Commonwealth offences is 15 years imprisonment.

AFP Detective Superintendent Paula Hudson said the AFP's international partnerships were vital to stopping those spreading child abuse material online.

SEATTLE — A Black Lives Matter protester who spent time at CHOP is now charged with hate crimes against Asian-American women.

Prominent activists and organizers in the BLM movement told KOMO News they remember Christopher Hamner, but not for his contributions. One remembers his “creepy stares,” and another said his actions seemed “to come out of left field.”

Seattle police arrested Hamner last month for two separate incidents of alleged anti-Asian hate attacks. Pamela Cole said Hamner threatened her and her young children when they tried to drive past him.

Hamner made similar anti-Asian hate threats to two other women just days later, according to investigators.

Murder suspect released on bond despite DA’s objection

Daily News & More in Hemphill is reporting that a Sabine County murder suspect has been released on bond despite the District Attorney pleading that it continue to be denied. However, it appears that orders from the Governor’s Office regarding Coronavirus that were shot down by the Texas Appellate Court is the reasoning for bond being approved.

24-year-old Matthew Hoy Edgar is currently under Grand Jury indictment on a charge of murder regarding the Halloween 2020 death of 19-year-old Livye Lewis. Investigators say Lewis died as the result of a shot from a rifle to her neck and upper body.

Edgar had been jailed with bond denied, but that changed on Tuesday when he was released from the Sabine County Jail under a $50,000.00 bond. District Attorney Kevin Dutton released a statement on Wednesday saying that the 1st Judicial District Court in Sabine County held a hearing on the defendant's motion to release Edgar on bail. Dutton said he objected, but bond was set at $50,000.00 by State District Judge Craig Mixson.

Dutton said in his statement, ”Although I do not agree on the granting of the bond, I do believe the court was following the law and changes in the law.”

Dutton cited an order from Texas Governor Greg Abbott when he realized that the pandemic would cause delays laboratories processing crime related evidence and also the illness potentially impacting the ability of a Grand Jury to convene.

According to Dutton, the Governor signed an executive order which waived the 90-day period that the state had to bring forth an indictment on a person after they had been arrested and were jailed.

However, according to Dutton the Texas Appellate Court shot down that order, ruling that the Governor could not do that. Dutton said the court ordered that suspects who are not indicted before the 90-day deadline be released on a surety or personal recognizance bond.

The ruling is the first time the European Court of Human Rights has weighed in on the issue of compulsory vaccinations. The ruling could play a role in efforts to end the COVID-19 pandemic.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in Strasbourg ruled Thursday that compulsory vaccinations are legal and may be necessary in democratic societies.

The ruling came following conclusion of a complaint brought to the court by Czech families regarding compulsory jabs for children.

"The measures could be regarded as being 'necessary in a democratic society,'" the court judgment read.

Although the ruling did not deal directly with COVID-19 vaccines, experts believe it could have implications for the vaccination drive against the virus, especially for those who have so far stated a refusal to accept the jab.

This judgment "reinforces the possibility of a compulsory vaccination under conditions of the current COVID-19 epidemic," Nicolas Hervieu, a legal expert specializing in the ECHR, told AFP news agency.

What was the court ruling about?

The decision said that the compulsory vaccines administered by Czech health authorities were in line with the "best interests" of children.

"The objective has to be that every child is protected against serious diseases, through vaccination or by virtue of herd immunity," it added.

The court ruled that the Czech health policy was not in violation of Article 8 on the right to respect for private life in accordance with the European Convention on Human Rights.

By Czech law, children must be vaccinated against nine diseases including diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hepatitis B and measles.

The case was brought to the court by families who had been fined, or whose children had been refused access to a nursery for failing to comply with their legal vaccination duty.

A precedent for COVID-19 vaccination drives

Countries across Europe have seen a swell of disinformation regarding the coronavirus pandemic. This has led people to not only be skeptical about the coronavirus itself, but also about the COVID-19 vaccines.

Anti-vaxxers — people who refuse to receive vaccines, or to vaccinate their children — have spread various conspiracy theories about why governments want to vaccinate their populations.

As a result, governments may be contending with large segments of society who refuse to be vaccinated, making the goal of herd immunity that much more difficult.

Although the ruling by the ECHR may have set the precedent that obligatory vaccinations do not contravene the European Convention on Human Rights, this does not mean European countries will force people to be vaccinated.

Ukraine and Russia may be on the brink of war – with dire consequences for the whole of Eurasia. Let’s cut to the chase, and plunge head-on into the fog of war.

On March 24, Ukrainian President Zelensky, for all practical purposes, signed a declaration of war against Russia, via decree No. 117/2021.

The decree establishes that retaking Crimea from Russia is now Kiev’s official policy. That’s exactly what prompted an array of Ukrainian battle tanks to be shipped east on flatbed rail cars, following the saturation of the Ukrainian army by the US with military equipment including unmanned aerial vehicles, electronic warfare systems, anti-tank systems and man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS).

More crucially, the Zelensky decree is the proof any subsequent war will have been prompted by Kiev, debunking the proverbial claims of “Russian aggression.” Crimea, since the referendum of March 2014, is part of the Russian Federation.

It was this (italics mine) de facto declaration of war, which Moscow took very seriously, that prompted the deployment of extra Russian forces to Crimea and closer to the Russian border with Donbass. Significantly, these include the crack 76th Guards Air Assault Brigade, known as the Pskov paratroopers and, according to an intel report quoted to me, capable of taking Ukraine in only six hours.

It certainly does not help that in early April US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, fresh from his former position as a board member of missile manufacturer Raytheon, called Zelensky to promise “unwavering US support for Ukraine’s sovereignty.” That ties in with Moscow’s interpretation that Zelensky would never have signed his decree without a green light from Washington….

Racism continues to rage 223 years after the AME Church was birthed to end racial discrimination and ensure economic equality. On December 13, 1978, two days before the announcement of Sino-American normalization, Coca-Cola became the first foreign corporation allowed back in to the People’s Republic of China, and just celebrated its 40th anniversary of relations with China. Chinese periodicals used the term “Coca-Colanization” to describe the way the drink undermined sovereignty and local culture. Others emphasized that Coca-Cola accompanied American troops wherever they went. (On this last point, the propagandists may have been on to something: by the end of WWII, Coca-Cola owned 64 international bottling plants that had provided refreshment to American combat troops, the vast majority of them paid for by the US government.)

Wyatt McGlaun, a teenager from The Woodlands in Southeast Texas, is blaming his recent diagnosis of Guillain-Barre syndrome on the fact that he received his first dose of the Wuhan coronavirus(COVID-19) vaccine several weeks before.

Guillain-Barre is a very rare autoimmune condition that causes the body’s immune system to attack the nerves, Some of the signs and symptoms of this syndrome include weakness in the legs, an inability to walk and even paralysis. There is no cure for the condition, but there are treatments that can be taken to ease and reduce its symptoms. Many who are diagnosed can also recover and regain their ability to walk after several months of therapy and treatment.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has acknowledged that on certain occasions, “people have developed Guillain-Barre syndrome in the days or weeks after receiving certain vaccines.” The National Institutes of Health has also reported one case of Guillain-Barre in an 82-year-old woman who was diagnosed after receiving the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

A mayor in central Venezuela has become the target of a government inquiry, after he began posting red markings on homes with Covid-positive residents, apparently as a way to warn locals to stay away.

The official, Luis Duque, posted a video to social media showing himself standing in front of a white paper sign featuring a red circle with a line drawn through it plastered onto the exterior of a home.

“We are protecting our people,” he said in the clip, adding: “This indicates that there is a Covid case or a suspected Covid case, so the people are alert.”

The mayor of Sucre municipality, located in Yaracuy state, told local radio that extreme measures were needed to protect against a second wave of the virus. Those who did not comply with quarantine rules could see a cut to their state benefits, including food relief, he warned. Violators could also be slapped with high fines.

Although Duque is a member of President Nicolas Maduro’s ruling United Socialist Party, it appears that Caracas didn’t take kindly to his zealous Covid policies.

The country’s chief prosecutor, Tarek Saab, denounced the markings as “segregation” and said he would open an investigation into the matter, adding that officials were now working to remove all the offending signs.

It appears that Duque has since removed the video from his Instagram account, but has yet to respond to criticisms of his heavy-handed policies. He had said in an earlier interview that anyone who thought the measures were unlawful could challenge them in court.

After a joint investigation between China and the World Health Organization (WHO) failed to produce a legitimate explanation for the origins of COVID-19, a group of international scientists has cried foul - and is demanding "more rigorous investigations" - with or without Beijing's participation, according to Reuters.

In a Wednesday open letter, 24 prominent scientists and researchers from Europe, Australia, the United States and Japan say the WHO study - which all but ruled out a laboratory leak - was tainted by politics.

"Their starting point was, let’s have as much compromise as is required to get some minimal cooperation from China," said Atlantic Council senior fellow, Jamie Metzl, who drafted the letter - which says that the WHO study's conclusions were based on unpublished Chinese research, while records and biological samples critical to the investigation "remain inaccessible."

According to Metzl, the world might have to "revert to plan B" and conduct an independent investigation "in the most systematic way possible" with or without China's participation.

China has vehemently ruled out the possibility that COVID-19 leaked from a Wuhan lab, where scientists were manipulating bat coronaviruses to more easily infect humans.

"China has databases of what viruses were being held… there are lab notes of the work that was being done," Metzl added. "There are all kinds of scientists who are actually doing the work and we don’t have access to any of those resources, or any of those people."

If Metzl et. al. need a blueprint for exactly how a forensic investigation of Wuhan laboratories might be conducted, this 122 page proposal might fit the bill:

YouTube has taken down a video of a public health roundtable hosted by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and a number of medical experts voicing skepticism about lockdowns, saying that it violated the platform’s community standards.

The nearly two-hour video was first streamed on the channel of a Florida CBS affiliate in mid-March, in which the governor spoke at length at the Florida state capitol with four public health experts hailing from Stanford University, the University of Oxford and Harvard Medical School.

While the roundtable remains accessible through an archived link, YouTube sent the video down the memory hole sometime this week, as was first noted by Jeffrey Tucker of the American Institute for Economic Research on Wednesday. The page previously hosting the video now gives a brief notice: “This video has been removed for violating YouTube’s Community Guidelines.”

RT reached out to YouTube and the Tampa Bay CBS affiliate, WTSP, for further details on the decision, but received no immediate response.

YouTube has stepped up its efforts against what it deems “misinformation” in recent months, particularly as it relates to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and vaccines developed to combat it. During a panel hosted by the World Economic Forum earlier this week, CEO Susan Wojcicki boasted of the platform’s “very high ability” to hunt down false information and other rule-breaking content and “reduce it significantly over time.”

“So if you look at where we were in 2017… we’ve reduced this by more than 70%. And that is due to an incredible amount of hard work with machines and also improving our policies,” she said. “Not only did we remove content that violates our policies at that significant rate, but we also created more policies.”

Doylestown, PA — The Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program should better be called an hilarious exercise in how not to convince kids to keep away from substances the state deems illegal. As cops hopped on their high horses and had children pledge not to do drugs, the rate of drug use skyrocketed — thrusting the country into one of the worst drug epidemics in human history. The hypocrisy by the cops who pushed the D.A.R.E. program has been well-documented over the years, explaining, at least in part, as to why the program was such a failure from the start. Now, another cop who pushed kids to ‘just say no’ has been arrested and accused of disturbing criminal activity.

Warminster Township Police Officer James Carey swore an oath to protect the children of Doylestown and instead of protecting them, according to a recent indictment, this cop preyed on them. Adding to the insidious nature of Carey’s alleged crimes against children is the fact that he committed them while pretending to be a role model as the school district’s D.A.R.E. officer.

Carey, 52, is facing over 100 charges, announced by Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub on Wednesday. A grand jury presented a whopping 80-page indictment against Carey detailing 122 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and other related charges.

Carey is accused of raping multiple boys while working as the D.A.R.E. officer at elementary, middle and high schools in the Centennial School District. The incidents allegedly spanned the course of decades taking place between 1987 and 2009 and involved at least four boys.

“A police officer’s creed is to protect and serve his community,” Weintraub said. “In a perverse and criminal dereliction of his duty, James Carey instead took advantage of his power and credibility while on the job as a police officer to sexually abuse our community’s most vulnerable: our children.”

According to the indictment, Carey met his victims at school and would lure them to places outside of campus to prey on them, including on overnight camping trips to the Poconos and to Camp Ockanickon, a Boy Scout facility in Medford, Burlington County, according to the district attorney.

According to the indictment, rumors of the abuse began surfacing long before the investigation as Carey had a reputation of inappropriate behavior around male children which included inviting them to his house to get in his hot tub.

The investigation began to gain steam after a now-adult victim came forward in May and that he had been molested by Carey at a rec center in the township, according to the affidavit of probable cause for Carey’s arrest.

According to the the affidavit, Carey would use his D.A.R.E. police officer status to prey on kids caught with drugs, giving them the ultimatum of sexually pleasuring him or go to jail.

Biden declares, ‘No amendment to Constitution is absolute’ as he rolls out gun measures

WASHINGTON — President Biden on Thursday announced a slew of new gun control measures after a recent pair of high-profile mass shootings, and insisted the Second Amendment doesn’t grant an absolute right to own guns.

Biden presented the executive actions in the Rose Garden, joined by Attorney General Merrick Garland and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“No amendment to the Constitution is absolute,” Biden maintained, pointing to the famous Supreme Court ruling that you can’t yell fire in a crowded theater as part of the First Amendment’s free speech clause.

“From the very beginning you couldn’t own any weapon you wanted to own, and from the very beginning of [when] the Second Amendment existed certain people weren’t allowed to have weapons. So the idea is just bizarre to suggest that some of the things we’re recommending are contrary to the Constitution,” he said. “Gun violence in this country is an epidemic and it’s an international embarrassment.”

Harris, a former prosecutor, said, “I’ve looked at autopsy photographs. I’ve seen with my own two eyes what a bullet can do to the human body.”
