Are YOU a guinea pig for Google's latest experiment? Website reveals if you're one of the millions of Chrome users selected to trial a controversial new ad-tracking system

Third-party cookies are being ditched by Google and it is building a replacement

FLoC is a technology which may eventually replace cookies on Chrome

It is more privacy-centric than cookies but has its own critics and detractors

Google has started a trial of the tech on some users without their knowledge

Around 0.5% of users in some regions are in the Chrome experiment

Digital rights group the EFF has made a website to let people check if they are one of the 'guinea pigs in Google's ad-tech experiment'A new website lets Google Chrome users see if they have been auto-enrolled in an 'origin trial' of a new advertising technology which may eventually replace cookies.

The site 'Am I FLoCed?' lets internet users know if they are one of the 0.5 per cent of Chrome customers Google has signed up to its controversial FLoC experiment.

Google recently announced it was ditching the highly-invasive and controversial third-party cookies which allow companies to track a user as they surf the web.

But it also revealed it would be replacing cookies with other, more privacy-centric tools, including one called FLoC, which is controversial in its own right.

As we learn more about how the system will work, Google has already automatically switched on the new technology in the background of some Chrome users.

One in every 200 people in some countries, including the US, Australia and India but not the UK, now have FLoC running in the background without their knowledge.

Millions of people are likely affected, as Google is the world's most popular browser, with 2.6billion users in 2020. The Origin trial is expected to run to at least July 2021.

Top Trump Admin Official Praises Biden For Adopting ‘Nearly All’ Of His Predecessor’s China Policies

Brooke Rollins, CEO and president of the newly-launched America First Policy Institute (AFPI), commended the Biden administration Tuesday for carrying over key aspects of former President Donald Trump’s general foreign policy and specific approach to China.

Rollins told Daily Caller that “the Trump Administration set and reset policy on our most important foreign relationships in such a compelling fashion that you can even see the Biden Administration beginning to acquiesce to nearly all of it.”

“Despite stumbles out of the gate, you now see his DHS Secretary, for example, discussing building the border wall, and individuals like John Kerry and Tony Blinken grind their teeth at how tough working with China is,” she continued. “Only time will tell whether the Biden Administration is up to meeting the standard of responsible governance that we set.”

Rollins served as Trump’s Domestic Policy Council Director for the majority of his term in office, and her comments came just after she and other former Trump officials formally launched AFPI earlier in the day.

She stated during a press call for the launch that while AFPI clearly believes in Trump’s agenda, the group will reach across the aisle to find compromise on economic, education, labor, national security and other policies that will benefit American workers.

Pressed by Daily Caller on the call to comment on the Biden administration pursuing several Trump-era priorities — including national 5G expansion, incentivizing the re-shoring of manufacturing jobs, and supply chain security — Rollins noted that many of the previous administration’s policies had received bipartisan support. She added that while she did not have a full list of overlapping policies in front of her, she saw encouraging signs in Biden’s first days in office for future potential bipartisanship.

Trump’s former Small Business Administration Administrator Linda McMahon and National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow will join Rollins as the chair and vice chair of the new non-profit group.

AFPI currently boasts 40 staffers working across 20 different issue centers and a first-year operating budget of $20 million, making it by far the largest group formed by ex-Trump officials to date.

Rollins told press that she plans to double AFPI’s funding over the next year and has designs on opening new offices in Miami, New York City and Washington, D.C.

Supreme Court to Ninth Circuit: We Mean What We Say on Religious Liberty

It’s rare that a Supreme Court decision provides hints of impatience or frustration among the justices with members of lower federal courts, but that was the case late Friday with Ritesh Tandon, et al. v. Gavin Newsom (2021).

Consider the concluding paragraph(s) of the 5-4 decision in which the conservative majority struck down, yet again, the infamous Ninth Circuit’s decisions upholding California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s regulatory monstrosity of COVID-19 lockdown measures against religious assembly:

This is the fifth time the Court has summarily rejected the Ninth Circuit’s analysis of California’s COVID restrictions on religious exercise. See Harvest Rock Church v. Newsom, 592 U. S. _ (2020); South Bay, 592 U. S. _; Gish v. Newsom, 592 U. S. _ (2021); Gateway City, 592 U. S. _.

It is unsurprising that such litigants are entitled to relief. California’s Blueprint System contains myriad exceptions and accommodations for comparable activities, thus requiring the application of strict scrutiny.

And historically, strict scrutiny requires the State to further ‘interests of the highest order’ by means ‘narrowly tailored in pursuit of those interests.’ Church of Lukumi Babalu Aye, Inc. v. Hialeah, 508 U. S. 520, 546 (1993) (internal quotation marks omitted). That standard ‘is not watered down’; it ‘really means what it says.’” Ibid. (quotation altered).

That is about as decisive a repudiation as the justices could express short of something along the lines of “Read Our Lips: The First Amendment means what it says about religious freedom. And so do we! You got it?”

The same impatience is clear throughout the decision, beginning with the first paragraph of the decision’s analysis: “The Ninth Circuit’s failure to grant an injunction pending appeal was erroneous. This Court’s decisions have made the following points clear.”

The majority then walked the Ninth Circuit through a Constitution 101 explanation of what the lower court should not require being reminded:

“First, government regulations are not neutral and generally applicable, and therefore trigger strict scrutiny under the Free Exercise Clause, whenever they treat any comparable secular activity more favorably than religious exercise … It is no answer that a State treats some comparable secular businesses or other activities as poorly as or even less favorably than the religious exercise at issue.”

In other words, the Free Exercise Clause — that’s the one in the First Amendment that declares “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof …” — requires a demonstration of strict scrutiny every time government claims it must limit religious exercise. And, oh by the way, you don’t get off the hook for violating religious freedom by treating some other institution as badly or even worse.

Then there is this from the high court’s conservative majority:

“Second, whether two activities are comparable for purposes of the Free Exercise Clause must be judged against the asserted government interest that justifies the regulation at issue … Comparability is concerned with the risks various activities pose, not the reasons why people gather.”

In other words, it should be of no consequence to government what might be the particular nature of the religious assembly — which in this specific case involved home-based Bible studies — because the only permissible issue to consider in comparing activities proposed for regulation is their comparative risks.

APRIL 13, 2021

PALM BEACH, FL

Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America.

The Biden Administration did a terrible disservice to people throughout the world by allowing the FDA and CDC to call a “pause” in the use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. The results of this vaccine have been extraordinary but now it’s reputation will be permanently challenged. The people who have already taken the vaccine will be up in arms, and perhaps all of this was done for politics or perhaps it’s the FDA’s love for Pfizer. The FDA, especially with long time bureaucrats within, has to be controlled. They should not be able to do such damage for possibly political reasons, or maybe because their friends at Pfizer have suggested it. They’ll do things like this to make themselves look important. Remember, it was the FDA working with Pfizer, who announced the vaccine approval two days after the 2020 Presidential Election. They didn’t like me very much because I pushed them extremely hard. But if I didn’t, you wouldn’t have a vaccine for 3-5 years, or maybe not at all. It takes them years to act! Do your testing, clean up the record, and get the Johnson & Johnson vaccine back online quickly. The only way we defeat the China Virus is with our great vaccines!

FLIR Wins DARPA Contract To Develop Next-Gen Combat Suits For Biowarfare

FLIR Systems, Inc. has won a major Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) contract to produce next-generation combat suits that will protect soldiers from biological weapons to the Ebola virus.

FLIR announced Monday the new contract with the Pentagon's research arm to rapidly develop "novel fabrics with embedded catalysts and chemistries that can fight and reduce chemical and biological threats upon contact."

The high-tech material will be interwoven into the combat suit for soldiers on the modern battlefield. FLIR has already received $11.2 million in funding for the five-year contract that would be worth up to $20.5 million.

Texas Faces New Power Crisis: Prices Soar 10,000% As ERCOT Urges Power Conservation Amid Grid 'Emergency'

Texas' power grid operator, Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), which came under immense pressure months ago for mishandling the historic winter storm in mid-February, urged customers Tuesday afternoon to "reduce their electricity use" as a cold front swept through, causing power demand to spike.

ERCOT told customers to please "conserve energy at this time. Consumers and businesses are urged to reduce their electricity use this afternoon and into the evening."

Texas' power grid operator also said:

"Due to a combination of high gen outages typical in April & higher-than-forecasted demand caused by a stalled cold front over TX, ERCOT may enter emergency conditions.

With a cold front moving through the Lone Star state some generation units were already down for repair work. Bloomberg reports one spot price for Texas power jumped as much as 10,000% on Tuesday.

In particular, the average spot on-peak electricity at Ercot’s North Hub jumped more than 10,000% to $1,975.96 a megawatt-hour as of 4 p.m, according to grid data compiled by Genscape. Prices are capped at $2,000 a megawatt hour, after regulators suspended the previous $9,000 cap following the energy crisis.

Watch Fireball Explode, Light Up Sky Over Florida

According to the American Meteor Society, which received at least 230 reports about a fireball seen in the sky, the event was technically a "bolide" blowing up in the night sky as it passed through the dense layers of the Earth's atmosphere.

A luminous object burst into the clear starry sky over the southeastern coast of Florida from Jacksonville to Miami at great speed, only to soon explode and illuminate the skies of the Sunshine State with its brightest flash.

According to some eyewitnesses' accounts, people could hear a sonic boom sound quite loud and clear. And many of them rushed to immediately share their successful shots on social media.

According to the USA Today, citing the operations manager for the American Meteor Society, Mike Hankey, it was most likely a piece of an asteroid based on the speed and characteristics of the fireball, but whether it was a piece of the newly discovered 2021 GW4, that recently passed the Earth at approximately 12,430 miles (20,000 km) above the surface, is unknown.

Geostationary satellites, by comparison, orbit about 22,000 miles (35,400 km) above the Earth.

FDA Lifts Restriction on Remote Prescriptions of Abortion Drugs

Biden admin uses COVID to lift federal prohibition on telemedicine abortions

The Biden administration cited the coronavirus pandemic to give the green light to at-home, self-administered abortions on Monday.

The FDA said it will allow the prescription of an abortion pill, mifepristone, through the mail, reversing Trump administration restrictions on remote prescription of abortion drugs. The agency wrote that because "the in-person dispensing of mifepristone for medical termination of early pregnancy may present additional COVID-related risks to patients and healthcare personnel because it may involve a clinic visit solely for this purpose," it will allow doctors and nurses to prescribe the medication remotely.

The letter, sent on Monday to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, states that the agency will exercise "enforcement discretion" in allowing abortion medication to be prescribed without requiring an in-person doctor's visit.

Republican lawmakers warned against removing the requirement that the abortion medication be prescribed in person. Sen. Ben Sasse (R., Neb.) accused the Biden administration of exploiting the pandemic to advance the interests of the abortion industry.

"This move by the FDA is just using COVID-19 as a cover to dispense abortion-inducing medication remotely," Sasse said. "We are over a year into this pandemic with health care largely returning to safe, in-person delivery. This isn’t about pandemic caution—it’s a political move to increase abortions."

Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) said the agency should be focused solely on the coronavirus pandemic rather than using COVID-19 to achieve political goals.

"By choosing to waive safety requirements and best practices, the Biden Administration is doing the bidding of the radical pro-abortion lobby to make it easier to get abortion-inducing drugs at the expense of the lives of unborn children and the health of mothers," Rubio said. "The FDA should be focused on ending this pandemic, not children’s lives."

The Biden administration did not respond to a request for comment.

Multiple Republican-controlled states including Montana, Oklahoma, and Texas have passed legislation to restrict access to remote prescriptions of abortion medication. But Democratic states have moved to ease regulations and even limit a doctor's involvement in the procedure. On Monday, Democratic Hawaii governor David Ige signed a bill to allow registered nurses to provide abortion medication or services in the first trimester of pregnancy.

Former South Australian Labor MP Annabel Digance charged with blackmailing Opposition Leader

A former South Australian Labor MP and her husband have been arrested and charged with blackmailing the state's Opposition Leader, Peter Malinauskas.

Annabel Digance, 63, and her 60-year-old husband were arrested by Major Crime detectives at their home in the Adelaide Hills shortly after 7am today.

They were captured by 9News cameras being driven in separate police cars into the Adelaide Watch House, where they were charged with blackmail.

Flanked by detectives, the couple have been taken to the city watch house. They're expected to face court this afternoon. @alpsa has been approached comment but I've been told one won't come until the matter has been heard. #9newscomau pic.twitter.com/WSMnfjFVU2

— Rory McClaren (@RoryMcClaren9) April 14, 2021

If found guilty, they face a maximum sentence of 20 years' imprisonment for an aggravated offence.

Ms Digance served in the SA Parliament as a Labor MP from her election in 2014 until her defeat in 2018.

It's alleged she and her husband made threats against Mr Malinauskas, which included making false allegations about his conduct in order to damage him politically.

The couple is expected to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.

9News has contacted the South Australian Labor Party for comment.

How large is Rupert Murdoch's reach through News Corp in Australian media, old and new?

Former prime minister Kevin Rudd's petition to establish a royal commission into media diversity in Australia attracted more than half a million signatures and took aim at Rupert Murdoch, whose media empire Mr Rudd labelled a "cancer on democracy".

Another ex-prime minister Malcolm Turnbull also weighed in, branding it "an absolute threat to our democracy" and "the most powerful political actor in Australia".

Mr Rudd's petition, with support from Mr Turnbull, led to a Senate inquiry into Australia's news media and Mr Murdoch's role in it.

So, just what is his reach?

In this fact file, RMIT ABC Fact Check takes a look at the breadth and popularity of Mr Murdoch's Australian media outlets, relative to their competitors.

Given the focus by Mr Rudd and Mr Turnbull on Australian democracy, this analysis is limited to the coverage of news and current affairs in Australia.

Murdoch's reach: the big picture

For the purpose of this fact file, "reach" refers to the number of unique individuals who, for example, visited a website, watched a television channel or read a newspaper during a given period.

Fact Check sourced viewer and readership data for print, digital (including social media), television and radio from various sources, including reputable survey organisations Roy Morgan and Nielsen.

A dark-haired woman holds up a newspaper at a hearing room above a monitor with an older man in blue suit.

The available data slices up and measures different parts of the media landscape, so assessing the combined audience share of Mr Murdoch's Australian news outlets is not straightforward.

So what can we say?

Certainly, News Corp's newspapers dominate the national market for physical newspapers.

At the last count, in 2016, its share of circulation among national and capital city dailies was 65 per cent, and likely similar for regional papers.

More recent data for December 2020 shows that print papers owned by News Corp commanded more than twice the total audience of those owned by Nine Entertainment.

Nolte: Head of NY BLM Calls for Investigation into Cofounder’s Million Dollar Home Purchases

“Hawk Newsome, the head of Black Lives Matter (BLM) Greater New York City … called for ‘an independent investigation’ into how the global network spends its money” after BLM cofounder Patrisse Khan-Cullors spent $3.2 million on homes in predominantly white neighborhoods, the New York Post reported Saturday.

“If you go around calling yourself a socialist, you have to ask how much of her own personal money is going to charitable causes,” he told the Post. “It’s really sad because it makes people doubt the validity of the movement and overlook the fact that it’s the people that carry this movement.”

Gee, ya think?

BLM has been raking in the cash to further the cause of black America while Khan-Cullors, BLM’s cofounder and a self-proclaimed Marxist, dropped millions to live with white people.

According to the Post, her most recent purchase was a “custom ranch” in Georgia that sits on “3.2 rural acres” and features a “private airplane hangar with a studio apartment above it[.]”

I’m sorry, but aren’t radical leftists such as Khan-Cullors supposed to be boycotting Georgia? Well, I guess she doesn’t want to give up that “three-bedroom, two-bath house, about 30 minutes from Atlanta [that] has an indoor swimming pool and a separate ‘RV shop’ that can accommodate the repair of a mobile home or small aircraft, according to the real estate listing.”

The thought of the cofounder of Black Lives Matter RV’n across America is almost too delicious to dream of.

Man, what a sweet racket.

Call yourself a Marxist, launch a cause, encourage your followers to destroy their own neighborhoods, take in billions from suckers and sucker-corporations, and then go buy yourself four homes, three in predominantly white neighborhoods.

As my colleague Joel Pollak reported this week:

In L.A. terms, $1.4 million is not necessarily extravagant, though the activist took criticism for spending what would be a fortune in most other real estate markets, and for buying in a largely white neighborhood after urging people to “buy black.”

The Post added that Khan-Cullors and spouse Janaya Khan “also eyed property in the Bahamas at an ultra-exclusive resort where Justin Timberlake and Tiger Woods both have homes” called the Albany last year, with the price not disclosed.

Of course this should all be investigated, but it won’t be because being a leftist means you can do whatever you want, engage in all the hypocrisy you want, and never face the consequences.

Hey, which of the four homes she’s purchased since 2016 do you think Khan-Cullors watches her followers destroy their own neighborhoods in?

I’m guessing it’s her $1.4 million compound in Topanga.

Ford, GM, Other Michigan Companies Denounce State Senate Voting Bills

Ford, General Motors, and 30 other Michigan companies are denouncing voting bills introduced by the Michigan state Senate.

The businesses released a joint statement Tuesday saying they are united for principles such as equal ballot access, and against moves that limit voting in “historically disenfranchised communities.”

“Our nation is strongest when we stand together,” the corporations said in the joint statement. “We call on our elected officials to adopt these principles as they proceed in the spirit of inclusion and equality.”

The statement also criticized measures in the 39-bill package from the state Senate, which includes controlling absentee ballot applications and counting; improving election clerk training; empowering poll watchers to better observe electoral activity; and more.

Voters would have to show identification to get an absentee ballot, and governments would be prohibited from providing prepaid postage on ballot envelopes.

But Michigan Senate Republican leaders viewed the legislation not as an effort to disenfranchise communities, but as a bipartisan effort to bolster voter integrity in communities.

Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey (R-Clarklake) said that he is looking to work with colleagues across the aisle on these bills, adding that the legislative process has only just begun.

“At all times, we must use logic, not political sentiment or ‘wokeness’ to build good public policy that will serve all Michiganders and safeguard our democracy,” he said in a statement. “If having an ID is viewed as an obstacle to voting because there is a problem with getting ID, let’s solve that problem.”

Companies are also protesting voting bills in other states. American Airlines, for example, protested Texas state Senate Bill 7, an election integrity bill, because the company said it “limited voting access.”

Zara kids campaign ad slammed by mums as ‘inappropriate’

The fashion retailer has come under fire for its latest kids campaign, with some mums complaining it made them “uncomfortable”.

Zara has come under fire in Britain after mums accused the clothing store of “sexualising children” in “completely inappropriate” campaign.

Taking to Mumsnet, one mum posted several snaps that had made her feel “uncomfortable” while looking for shoes for her daughter.

In two of the photos, the model can be seen wearing the same long-sleeve swimsuit and bare legs, while the third sees her wearing a crop top and leggings.

“Looking for summer shoes for DD online this morning and came across these pics which made me feel uncomfortable,” she wrote.

“Like an attempt at doing high fashion photography for kids clothes. The poses feel inappropriate for kids this young.”

Many were quick to agree with the original poster, agreeing that the images were inappropriate for a kids clothing campaign.

“Those pictures are completely inappropriate,” one wrote. “I do wonder about the parents who let their kids pose for images like those.”

“All three are a bit crotch-focused to my eye,” agreed another, while a third wrote, “I agree with you, those poses are a bit off.”

However, several mums argued that the snaps were completely innocent and that there was nothing wrong with them.

Commenting on the thread, one said, “They look like most of my childhood snaps from the 80s (with better hair). Not inappropriate or sexualised IMO.”

Agreeing, a second added, “They are just normal photos. Odd that some people are sexualising them.”

“They look causal rather than sexual to me,” added a third.

The Sun has contacted Zara for comment.

Molly Lillard, daughter of Jets great Al Toon, dead in apparent murder-suicide

Molly Lillard, the daughter of New York Jets great Al Toon, was fatally shot Sunday at her Arizona home in an apparent murder-suicide, a report said.

Police believe Lillard’s husband, 36-year-old Royce Lillard III, shot her before turning the gun on himself in their Scottsdale house.

The couple’s 8-month-old child was there at the time and was not injured, police said.

Royce Lillard is suspected of killing his wife sometime before 5 p.m. When police showed up to their residence, he barricaded himself inside.

A SWAT team entered the home at about 10:45 p.m., finding him dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.

The couple’s infant is being cared for by the family.

Molly Lillard was a standout volleyball player, both at her Wisconsin high school and later at the University of Michigan, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Her father, Toon, set football records at University of Wisconsin before getting drafted by the Jets.

The wide receiver made it to the Pro Bowl three times in eight years.

The first photo of David Cameron's trip to Saudi Arabia with Lex Greensill has emerged

The first photo of David Cameron and his financier friend Lex Greensill on their 'desert camping trip' to Saudi Arabia has emerged as the lobbying scandal around the former prime minister continues to spiral.

Dressed in business suits and drinking tea around a campfire, the pair are pictured during their visit to Riyadh in January 2020 when Greensill Capital planned to open an office in the capital.

During the trip, they met Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who has been accused of ordering the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Mr Cameron insisted he raised human rights concerns with the Arab leader.

The photo obtained by the Wall Street Journal appeared as it was revealed one of Mr Cameron's top officials was allowed to work for Greensill Capital while still a civil servant.

Bill Crothers spent several months as Government procurement head and a Greensill board adviser, it emerged last night.

The extraordinary arrangement meant when he quit to work for the lender full-time he did not have to ask approval from the watchdog that monitors the revolving door between Whitehall and business.

Banking Crisis: Fallout from Greensill Financial Collapse Splatters British Government, as Taxpayers Face Big Losses

Downing Street’s dodgy dealings with Citigroup and Greensill show just how far the British government is willing to go to line the pockets of banks and other financial firms while bleeding taxpayers dry.

The collapse of UK-based supply chain finance firm Greensill Capital continues to reverberate. In Germany the private banking association has paid out around €2.7 billion to more than 20,500 Greensill Bank customers as part of its deposit guarantee scheme after the bank collapsed in early March. But the deposits of institutional investors such as other financial institutions, investment firms, and local authorities are not covered. Fifty municipalities are believed to be nursing losses of at least €500 million.

Greensill’s biggest source of funds, Credit Suisse, has seen its share price plunge by almost a quarter. This is due not only to the fallout from Greensill’s collapse but also the impact of losses at its prime brokerage division caused by the stricken U.S. hedge fund Archegos, which are expected to reach €4 billion. The lender has warned of “considerable uncertainty” regarding the valuation of its supply chain finance fund. More than $5 billion of the roughly $10 billion invested in the fund remains outstanding.

Credit Suisse had assured clients in marketing documents that the debt in the supply chain fund was “low risk”. In one factsheet, it also said: “The underlying credit risk of the notes is fully insured by highly rated insurance companies.” At the beginning of March, that turned out not to be true. Some clients whose money remains trapped in the fund have threatened to sue.

Greensill’s biggest client, Anglo-Indian steel magnate Sanjeev Gupta, is on the verge of bankruptcy. Gupta’s GFG Alliance reportedly owes Greensill more than €3 billion. It began defaulting on its obligations after Greensill stopped lending to the group at the beginning of March. At the end of March Gupta requested a £170 million emergency loan from the UK government, which was duly rejected. Greensill’s administrator, Grant Thornton, has been unable to verify invoices underpinning some of the loans to Gupta. Companies listed on the documents denied ever having done business with the metals magnate.

Now the fallout is beginning to splatter the British government, which invited Greensill to participate in its Coronavirus Large Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CLBILS). This is despite the fact the company:

a) wasn’t a bank; and

b) was quite clearly already in deep financial trouble. Greensill’s participation in CLBILS allowed it to extend even more loans, this time government backed, to Gupta’s empire.

Taxpayers will now probably end up holding the bag for those loans.

Special Treatment, Frantic Lobbying

Greensill Capital was the only non-bank financial firm to administer the emergency coronavirus loan schemes. The Treasury has admitted that Greensill was exempt from the capital adequacy and stress tests that would safeguard the public from risk when using other lenders. The apparent reason for this special treatment was that former UK Prime Minister David Cameron, who had joined Greensill as an advisor in 2018, was frantically lobbying Chancellor of Exhchequer Rishi Sunak to hand government loans to the embattled financial firm even as it spiralled toward bankruptcy.

Cameron is believed to have held share options in Greensill Capital worth tens of millions of pounds. Now they’re worth nothing.

Cameron’s ties with Greensill’s eponymous founder, Lex Greensill, date all the way back to 2011, when Cameron’s then-cabinet secretary, Jeremy Heywood, brought Greensill — then the head of Citi’s supply chain finance division — into 10 Downing Street as a special advisor. Greensill was still on Citi’s payroll when he joined the government. As an expose in The Sunday Times reveals, his brief was to convince ministers and senior civil servants to hire Citi to extend early payment to many of the government’s biggest suppliers.

CM talks about this in a recent podcast. CM found out about it a week before the capitol riot FF and took screenshots, and posted about it on his twatter (when he still had one).
