The expatriating act must be voluntary and take any of seven forms.

Committing any of the following acts will create a presumption that it was performed voluntarily with the idea of giving up U.S. citizenship, although the person might later be able to rebut (disprove) this presumption:

Becoming a naturalized citizen of another country after age 18.

Formally declaring allegiance to a foreign government after age 18.

Accepting a position in the government of another country after age 18, if one has citizenship in, or declared allegiance to, that country.

Joining the military force of another country either (1) in any capacity if that country is engaged in hostilities against the U.S., or (2) as an officer.

Formally renouncing U.S. nationality abroad before a U.S. diplomatic or consular officer.

Formally renouncing U.S. nationality in the U.S. when the U.S. is at war, if done in writing and with the approval of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Being convicted of treason or participating in any attempt to overthrow the U.S. government.

Former California ‘Very Progressive’ Democrat Mayor Arrested For Child Sex Crimes

Former Democrat Mayor of Sebastopol in Sonoma County, California was arrested and charged Tuesday with 11 felony child sex crimes.

The charges against Robert Emmanuel Jacob, 44, included: committing lewd acts with a child ages 14 to 15, participating in sexual penetration of a child under 16, making a child under 16 available to another person for lewd or lascivious acts, and distribution of child pornography.

Robert Jacob, an openly gay progressive cannabis businessman, has voiced support for BLM and defunding police and often lashed out on Trump on social media.

Fox News reported:

Robert Jacob, the progressive former mayor of Sebastopol in Sonoma County, was arrested Saturday on five felony and one misdemeanor sexual assault charges against a minor, the Sebastopol Police Department said in a statement.

On Tuesday, Jacob appeared in Sonoma County Superior Court, where the number of felony charges was expanded to 11, police said, citing court documents.

Police said the investigation began on March 30 after police got a tip about possible sexual assaults that occurred in the city between December 2019 and March 2021. Investigators identified Jacob as a suspect and took him into custody at a residence in the 7400 block of Woodland Avenue.

Sebastopol Police Chief Kevin Kilgore could not comment on how Jacob and the victim knew each other or provide additional details on the alleged crimes due to the ongoing investigation.

Healthy 43-Year-Old Man Suffers Stroke From Blood Clot Hours After Receiving J&J Vaccine

Healthy 43-Year-Old Man Suffers Stroke From Blood Clot Hours After Receiving J&J Vaccine

A Mississippi man remains in critical condition, can’t walk, talk and is paralyzed on one side of his body after suffering a stroke hours after being vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson’s COVID vaccine. Family believes “without a doubt” the vaccine caused the stroke.

A healthy 43-year old man in Mississippi suffered a stroke hours after being vaccinated with Johnson and Johnson’s (J&J) COVID vaccine. Brad Malagarie, father of seven, had received the vaccine a little after Noon and was found unresponsive by co-workers at his desk, WSAZ News Channel 3 reported.

“They called me and said he had that vaccine and something is wrong, we think it’s a stroke,” said Celeste Foster O’Keefe, Malagarie’s aunt and boss.

Malagarie was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a stroke after a blood clot had lodged in his left middle cerebral artery. O’Keefe said the family believes without a doubt that the vaccine caused the stroke.

“He’s a young, healthy 43-year-old, and I immediately thought it, and I said be sure to tell the doctors he took that J & J vaccine and that, to me, is what caused his stroke,” she told WSAZ.

O’Keefe said her nephew’s only health issue before the vaccine was high blood pressure, which was controlled with medication. One week after receiving the vaccine Malagarie remains hospitalized at Ochsner’s Medical Center in New Orleans and is in critical, but stable condition.

“He can’t talk now and he can’t walk. He’s paralyzed on the right side. He knows who we are and he will just cry when he sees us,” O’Keefe said.

Doctors don’t know Malagarie’s prognosis for recovery yet but said it will likely take at least a year of rehab after he leaves the hospital, the local TV station said.

On Tuesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) paused J&J’s vaccine after rare blood clots were reported in those recently vaccinated.

All six reported cases in the U.S. occurred among women aged 18-48 with symptoms developing six to 13 days after vaccination, according to a statement issued by the FDA and CDC.

One vaccine recipient died and her death is being investigated by the CDC, Virginia state officials said in a statement Tuesday. Another woman is in critical condition. A CDC official said two of the six patients have been discharged and three remain hospitalized.

Wednesday, J&J disclosed two more cases of blood clots — one that occurred in a 25 year-old-man who suffered a cerebral hemorrhage during a clinical trial and another case of deep-vein-thrombosis in a 59-year-old woman.

According to the CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System or VAERS, 49 reports of blood coagulation disorders from the J&J vaccine have been reported through April 1 and 972 reports from all three vaccines combined, including Pfizer and Moderna through April 1.

The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices met Wednesday and decided to postpone a vote on whether to lift the pause on the J&J’s COVID vaccine, effectively extending the pause pending further analysis of data relating to blood clots in people who received the vaccine. The committee said they would meet again in one week to 10 days to vote on whether or not to lift the pause.

>Twenty-Two Indicted for Drug Trafficking in San Antonio Area

U.S. Attorney’s Office

Western District of Texas

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Thursday, April 15, 2021

Twenty-Two Indicted for Drug Trafficking in San Antonio Area

Twenty-two defendants from San Antonio, Del Rio and Laredo face federal drug trafficking charges, announced U.S. Attorney Ashley C. Hoff and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent in Charge Daniel C. Comeaux, Houston Division.

A federal grand jury indictment unsealed today charges the following defendants with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance:

Matthew Noe Arteaga, age 35 of San Antonio;

Nicolas Rodriguez, age 39 of San Antonio;

Bryan Anthony Brown, age 33 of San Antonio;

Brian Victorino Chavarria, age 24 of San Antonio;

Oscar Oviedo, age 26 of San Antonio;

Joseph Richard Guerrero, age 28 of San Antonio;

Homero Garcia, age 36 of San Antonio;

Jesus Gerardo Vasquez, age 19 of San Antonio;

Jesse Martinez, age 41 of San Antonio;

Justin Paul Guerrero, age 26 of San Antonio;

Ricardo Gonzalez, age 24 of San Antonio;

Juan Carlos Robles, age 35 of San Antonio;

Fernando Jose Moreno, age 45 of San Antonio;

Rene Palafos, age 37 of San Antonio;

Michael Barron, age 39 of San Antonio;

Oswaldo Jesus Lopez, age 26 of Laredo;

Oscar Jesus Lopez, age 23 of Laredo;

Javier Garcia Lopez, age 29 of San Antonio;

Jose De Jesus Garcia, age 35 of San Antonio;

Madilyn Marie Alvarado, age 26 of Del Rio

James Patric Bartlett, age 42 of San Antonio; and,

Albelardo Oviedo, age 29 of San Antonio.

The indictment alleges that defendants Arteaga, Rodriguez, Brown, Chavarria, Oscar Oviedo, Joseph Guerrero, Vasquez, Martinez, Justin Guerrero, Gonzalez, Robles, Moreno, Palafos, Barron, Lopez, Jose Garcia, Alvarado, Bartlett, and Albelardo Oviedo conspired from June 2019 until April 7, 2021, to distribute methamphetamine. It also alleges that from June 2019 until April 7, 2021, Oscar Oviedo, Vasquez, Justin Guerrero, Moreno and Palafos conspired to distribute cocaine, and that Chavarria, Homero Garcia, Oswaldo Lopez and Oscar Lopez conspired to distribute heroin. All of the defendants except Albelardo Oviedo are also charged in substantive counts in the indictment related to specific instances of drug trafficking that occurred throughout the course of the conspiracy.

During this investigation, authorities seized approximately 24 kilograms of methamphetamine, six kilograms of heroin, three kilograms of cocaine, four firearms and approximately $100,000 along with other assets attributable to this organization.

Over the past two days, federal, state and local authorities arrested all of the defendants with the exception of Brown, Martinez, Jose Garcia, Alvarado, and Bartlett. Those five defendants were already in custody.

“These arrests send a strong and unified message that these crimes will not be tolerated in our communities and those who commit these offenses will be brought to justice,” said DEA Special Agent in Charge Comeaux. “We will continue to work closely with our federal, state and local law enforcement partners in order to enhance the quality of life for the citizens in the San Antonio region.”

Martinez, Robles, and Jose Garcia face between 15 years and life upon conviction of conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Each has a prior serious felony drug conviction which enhances their minimum mandatory sentence. All the remaining defendants face between 10 years to life in federal prison upon conviction.

It is important to note that an indictment is merely a charge and should not be considered as evidence of guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The DEA, U.S. Marshals Service, IRS Criminal Investigations, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Texas Department of Public Safety, Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Terrell Hills Police Department, Seguin Police Department and San Antonio Police Department conducted this Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation called Operation Alamo Fade. The Bexar County District Attorney’s Office also assisted in the investigation. OCDETF Lead Task Force Attorney Adrián Rosales is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.

COVID alert for thousands in Melbourne after COVID-19 traces detected in wastewater catchments

Traces of COVID-19 have been detected in a huge wastewater catchment that services almost all of Melbourne, with potentially millions of residents affected.

Millions of Melburnians are being urged to monitor for symptoms of the coronavirus after viral fragments were detected in a “large wastewater catchment” that services the city’s northern, western and eastern suburbs.

More than five million people live in Melbourne and about three million of these are residing in those areas.

Traces of COVID-19 have also been detected in another wastewater catchment in Melbourne’s south east.

In a statement, the Department of Health said the “unexpected detections” could be due to a person or persons with the virus being in the early active infectious phase.

Or it could be because they were continuing to shed the virus after the infectious period, they said.

“While it is possible that these detections are due to a visitor or visitors to these areas who are not infectious, a cautious approach is being taken,” the statement read.

People who live in or have visited the following areas should monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and get tested if any develop:

North, west and eastern suburbs from 4 to 12 April. This detection is in a very large catchment that services suburbs stretching from Melbourne’s northwest to the outer northeast.

Cranbourne and surrounding suburbs from 6 to 12 April

These two new detections come after residents in about 16 suburbs were warned earlier in the week about similar wastewater discoveries.

“Coronavirus fragments have been detected in wastewater from the Ringwood area,” the Victorian Department of Health said in a statement just before 6pm on Tuesday.

The east Melbourne suburbs affected include Bayswater, Bayswater North, Boronia, Croydon, Croydon North, Croydon South, Heathmont, Kilsyth, Kilsyth South, Montrose, Ringwood, Ringwood East, Sassafras, The Basin, Tremont and Wantirna.

Victoria has only recently started accepting international arrivals again, with a new hotel quarantine scheme bolstered in a bid to stop the virus leaking out into the community.

Victoria has been notified of five new cases of coronavirussince Wednesday, all in returned overseas travellers in hotel quarantine.

There are no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19.

Victoria has recorded no locally acquired cases for 48 straight days.

The five new cases included an international aircrew member aged in their 20s, a woman aged in her 20s, a man aged in his 20s and two young children.

All the new cases arrived on international flights into Melbourne on 12 and 13 April.

There are eight active cases across Victoria, all currently in hotel quarantine.

>Three Sparks Men Indicted On Fentanyl Distribution Charges

U.S. Attorney’s Office

District of Nevada

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Thursday, April 15, 2021

Three Sparks Men Indicted On Fentanyl Distribution Charges

RENO, Nev. – A federal grand jury has returned indictments charging three residents of Sparks, Nevada, for their alleged roles relating to the distribution of fentanyl (a deadly synthetic opioid).

Jesse Arevalo, aka “Kay,” 30, and Francisco Navarro-Delgado, 32. Arevalo and Navarro-Delgado are each charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, cocaine, and heroin, and one count of maintaining drug involved premises. Arevalo is also charged with five counts of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. According to allegations in the superseding indictment against him, from February to April 2021, Arevalo possessed with the intent to distribute at least 400 grams of fentanyl and at least 500 grams of cocaine.

According to allegations in the indictment and arguments made in court, from about November 2019 to March 2021, Arevalo and Navarro-Delgado conspired to maintain several apartments for the purpose of storing and distributing large quantities of fentanyl and cocaine. Arevalo acquired thousands of fentanyl pills as well as kilograms of cocaine per month, using those apartments to store and distribute the controlled substances. Further, from about November 2019 to February 2020, Arevalo allegedly used students at a southeast Reno high school to distribute controlled substances, including fentanyl pills, on his behalf.

Jaime Collazo Munoz, aka “Chivo,” 33. In a related case, Munoz was indicted on four counts of distribution of a controlled substance (specifically, fentanyl). According to allegations in the indictment against him, from July to November 2020, Munoz distributed at least 80 grams of fentanyl.

“During the pandemic, Nevada has seen an increase in overdoses, as illegal drugs and illicit drug use continue to exact an enormous toll across our state,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Christopher Chiou for the District of Nevada. “Together with our law enforcement partners, we will keep fighting to stop the distribution of drugs in our communities — particularly schemes that get children and youth involved in drug sales and trafficking.”

“Fentanyl and other highly potent synthetic opioids remain the primary driver behind the ongoing opioid crisis with counterfeit prescription pills being the most prevalent form of exposure,” said Acting Reno Resident Agent in Charge Aimee Koontz for the DEA. “Individuals that prey on our youth and community by distributing these potentially lethal counterfeit pills pressed with fentanyl will be held accountable. These fake pills are disguised to look like prescription pills, but in reality taking one is no different than playing Russian roulette that is fueling the opioid epidemic.”

“This time last year our community was reeling because of shocking fentanyl overdose deaths,” said Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam. “I asked for the Drug Enforcement Administration’s support in investigating the distribution of opiates in our region, and ultimately agents ended up adopting our drug cases due to their national and international implications. I am extremely grateful to the Drug Enforcement Administration and federal, state and local law enforcement partners for their diligent work on the cases. I promise you and every member of our community, we will not stop fighting illegal drug trafficking in Washoe County.”

Arevalo, Navarro-Delgado, and Munoz were charged by two indictments on March 25, 2021, and Arevalo was charged with additional criminal offenses on April 15, 2021. Arevalo and Munoz were detained and remanded to custody, and Navarro-Delgado was released on a personal recognizance bond. Jury trials have been scheduled before Chief U.S. District Judge Miranda Du and U.S. District Judge Larry R. Hicks on May 17, 2021.

If convicted, Arevalo faces a maximum statutory penalty of life imprisonment and a fine up to $10,000,000. If convicted, Navarro-Delgado, and Munoz each face a maximum statutory penalty of 40 years imprisonment and a fine of up to $5,000,000.

An indictment merely alleges that a crime has been committed. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The cases were investigated by the DEA and Washoe County Sheriff’s Office with assistance by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), United States Marshals Service (USMS), Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada Highway Patrol K-9, Regional Gang Unit, Regional Narcotics Unit, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K-9, Sparks Police Department K-9, and (Regional) Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit. Assistant U.S. Attorney Andolyn Johnson is prosecuting the cases.

>Anchorage Man Convicted on All Counts of Sex Trafficking Minors, Child Pornography and Illegal Possession of a Firearm

U.S. Attorney’s Office

District of Alaska

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Thursday, April 15, 2021

Anchorage Man Convicted on All Counts of Sex Trafficking Minors, Child Pornography and Illegal Possession of a Firearm

ANCHORAGE – An Anchorage man was convicted on five counts of sex trafficking of minors, three counts of production of child pornography and two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The verdict came after a three-day federal bench trial with Senior U.S. District Judge Ralph R. Beistline.

According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, between mid-October 2018 and December 1, 2018, Tristan Jamal Grant, aka “Goo,” 35, conspired with another person to traffic two minors, a 15-year-old female and a 17-year-old female. Both minors were runaways who stayed with Grant at his co-conspirator’s apartment. While at the apartment, they created an online advertisement that was used to market the minors. Grant then assisted his co-conspirator in trafficking the victims; encouraging them to perform sex acts for money; serving as protection for the minors and driving one of the minors to a date to perform sex acts. Additionally, Grant produced child pornography with one of the minors on two separate occasions.

Grant was arrested by Anchorage Police Department following a shooting on December 12, 2018. When arrested Grant was in possession of two weapons. Because Grant had previously been convicted of a felony, possession of those guns was illegal.

Grant remained in custody and was indicted by a federal grand jury on January 15, 2019. Grant escaped from custody during a court ordered release to meet with his attorney at his attorney’s office to prepare for trial. Grant was captured and later indicted on February 23, 2021, for escape by prisoner in custody and failure to appear.

“This conviction should be a strong reminder that sex trafficking and exploitation of children will not be tolerated,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Bryan Wilson of the District of Alaska. “The successful conviction of this case was due to the courage of the victims and the collaborative efforts of federal, state and local law enforcement and prosecutors. Our office will remain steadfast in our pursuit of all those who perpetuate sex trafficking of children.”

“Tristan Grant terrorized our neighborhoods and recruited minors for commercial sex acts, profiting from their exploitation. This guilty verdict is a win for our entire community,” said Robert Britt, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Anchorage Field Office. “The FBI is grateful for our collaborative partnerships across the state, and in this case the Anchorage Police Department, as we continue to combat crimes against Alaska’s youth.”

Sentencing is scheduled for July 14 at 9:00 a.m. in Anchorage. As a result of his convictions, Grant faces a sentencing range of not less than 15 years in prison and up to life. Grant also faces a term of supervised release following prison of not less than five years and up to life. Each conviction carries a maximum fine of up to $250,000. Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based upon the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

The case was the product of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Anchorage Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, working together through the FBI’s Safe Streets/Crimes Against Children/Human Trafficking Task Force. The task force marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children through sex trafficking, as well as to identify and recover victims.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by U.S. Attorney’s Offices nationwide and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. DOCTORS FOR COVID ETHICS

Emer Cooke, Executive Director, European Medicines Agency, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

28 February, 2021

Dear Sirs/Mesdames,

FOR THE URGENT PERSONAL ATTENTION OF: EMER COOKE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE EUROPEAN MEDICINES AGENCY

As physicians and scientists, we are supportive in principle of the use of new medical interventions which are appropriately developed and deployed, having obtained informed consent from the patient. This stance encompasses vaccines in the same way as therapeutics.

We note that a wide range of side effects is being reported following vaccination of previously healthy younger individuals with the gene-based COVID-19 vaccines. Moreover, there have been numerous media reports from around the world of care homes being struck by COVID-19 within days of vaccination of residents. While we recognise that these occurrences might, every one of them, have been unfortunate coincidences, we are concerned that there has been and there continues to be inadequate scrutiny of the possible causes of illness or death under these circumstances, and especially so in the absence of post-mortem examinations.

In particular, we question whether cardinal issues regarding the safety of the vaccines were adequately addressed prior to their approval by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

As a matter of great urgency, we herewith request that the EMA provide us with responses to the following issues:

1. Following intramuscular injection, it must be expected that the gene-based vaccines will reach the bloodstream and disseminate throughout the body [1]. We request evidence that this possibility was excluded in pre-clinical animal models with all three vaccines prior to their approval for use in humans by the EMA.

2. If such evidence is not available, it must be expected that the vaccines will remain entrapped in the circulation and be taken up by endothelial cells. There is reason to assume that this will happen particularly at sites of slow blood flow, i.e. in small vessels and capillaries [2]. We request evidence that this probability was excluded in pre-clinical animal models with all three vaccines prior to their approval for use in humans by the EMA.

3. If such evidence is not available, it must be expected that during expression of the vaccines’ nucleic acids, peptides derived from the spike protein will be presented via the MHC I — pathway at the luminal surface of the cells. Many healthy individuals have CD8-lymphocytes that recognize such peptides, which may be due to prior COVID infection, but also to cross-reactions with other types of Coronavirus [3; 4] [5]. We must assume that these lymphocytes will mount an attack on the respective cells. We request evidence that this probability was excluded in pre-clinical animal models with all three vaccines prior to their approval for use in humans by the EMA.

Biggs proposes constitutional amendment establishing that Supreme Court should have nine justices

"The Supreme Court must faithfully interpret the Constitution. We cannot allow it to fall victim to partisan attempts to pack it with far-left radicals," Biggs said in a statement.

House Freedom Caucus Chair Rep. Andy Biggs is proposing a constitutional amendment to fix the number of Supreme Court justices at the current level of nine.

"The Supreme Court of the United States shall be composed of nine justices consisting of one chief justice and eight associate justices," the amendment would say, according to The Hill which reported that it had acquired a copy.

Several congressional Democrats on Thursday unveiled legislation which would boost the number of Supreme Court seats to 13.

"The Supreme Court must faithfully interpret the Constitution. We cannot allow it to fall victim to partisan attempts to pack it with far-left radicals," Biggs, an Arizona Republican, said in a statement, according to The Hill. "This desperate power-grab by Democrats will only further divide our Nation. I will not stand for a 'Supreme Coup' of our highest court."

Chinese Leader Xi to Attend Climate Change Summit Video Conference With France, Germany: State Media

Chinese leader Xi Jinping will attend a climate change leaders summit video conference on April 16 with France and Germany, said Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying, according to a report by state media Xinhua news agency.

Xi will attend at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, according to the report.

Meanwhile, U.S. climate envoy John Kerry is in talks in China this week. The former secretary of state has scheduled meetings with Chinese officials on Thursday and Friday, ahead of President Joe Biden’s Leaders Summit on Climate scheduled for later this month, and the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change later this year.

The United States is “sending the absolute wrong signal” by sending John Kerry on a trip to China to discuss “raising global climate ambition,” House Foreign Affairs Committee Lead Republican Michael McCaul (R-Texas) said ahead of Kerry’s trip.

McCaul criticized the plans in a statement released this week following publication of a damning report from Bloomberg that reveals forced labor central to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) green energy policies.

“Ambassador Kerry is sending the absolute wrong signal by planning to travel to the People’s Republic of China to discuss climate issues,” McCaul said. “The PRC is the world’s largest carbon emitter and backer of coal power. Now reporting from Bloomberg is further revealing that forced labor and polluting industries are central to the PRC’s superficial green energy plans.”

He added, “The United States should be working with countries that want to solve international problems, not those that are creating or worsening them.”

Facebook Blocks New York Post Story About BLM Founder Spending Millions On Luxury Homes

The story on Patrisse Khan-Cullors can no longer be shared on the platform

Facebook has blocked a New York Post story on BLM co-founder Patrisse Khan-Cullors’s property-buying spree from being posted on its platform.

Last week, the New York Post revealed that Patrisse Khan-Cullors, one of the co-founders of the Black Lives Matter movement, had purchased four high-end properties worth millions of dollars. As the Post reported:

The self-described Marxist last month purchased a $1.4 million home on a secluded road a short drive from Malibu in Los Angeles, according to a report. The 2,370-square-foot property features “soaring ceilings, skylights and plenty of windows” with canyon views. The Topanga Canyon homestead, which includes two houses on a quarter-acre, is just one of three homes Khan-Cullors owns in the Los Angeles area, public records show.

The revelation led to anger among many on the left, who had perhaps come to the realisation that the millions of dollars raised by BLM may not have just gone into activism. Hawk Newsome, the head of Black Lives Matter in the Greater NYC area, said that there should be an “independent investigation” into how BLM spends its money “If you go around calling yourself a socialist, you have to ask how much of her own personal money is going to charitable causes,” he said. “It’s really sad because it makes people doubt the validity of the movement and overlook the fact that it’s the people that carry this movement.”

BLM is the biggest and most dangerous scam in American history. The grifters at the top of the organization enrich themselves while poor communities across the nation are devastated by the chaos they foment and profit off of. How could anyone still support these con artists?

— Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) April 11, 2021

On Thursday, people started to realise that the New York Post story on Khan-Cullors was being blocked from posted on Facebook. Anyone attempting to share the post would be met with an error message, claiming that it goes against Facebook’s Community Standards. National File was able to independently confirm the blocking of the link in a number of tests, including on the Facebook timeline and within direct Messenger messages. No other New York Post stories are currently subject to the same restrictions on Facebook.

This isn’t the first time that Big Tech has cracked down on a viral New York Post story in an attempt to prevent it from gaining even more traction. In October last year, both Facebook and Twitter blocked the posting of the New York Post’s article that revealed emails and embarassing photos from Hunter Biden. Despite the fact this content came from his laptop which he had left at a repair shop, Twitter also suspended the Post’s account for the “distribution of hacked materials.”

Iraqi Security Forces Discover Daesh Stash of $1.5 Mln, Precious Metals in Mosul

According to local authorities, the money was looted by militants at the time they controlled Mosul. The city became the major stronghold of Daesh* in 2014 and was only liberated in 2017 thanks to a military operation by the Iraqi Army and the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces.

The Iraqi security forces have uncovered millions of cash and precious metals hidden and buried by Daesh in one of the residential houses in the old area of Mosul.

According to a statement by the interior ministry, the cache contained $1.59 million in one hundred dollar bills, 17.5 million Iraqi dinars (about $12,000), 5 kilograms of silver and about 500 grams of gold, prepared for minting coins for internal circulation in the Daesh "state", and 17.5 kilograms of silver bars.

“The Nineveh Governorate Police Commander, Major General Laith Khalil Al-Hamdani, announced that […] based on specific information, [local police] was able to find sums of money seized by [terrorists] during [their] control of the city”, the spokesman of the commander-in-chief of the Iraqi forces, Yehia Rasool, tweeted.

He also shared pictures taken at the scene, which he called “Office of Finance, belonging to the gangs of Daesh.”

Though Baghdad announced victory over Daesh in late 2017, the Iraqi army, supported by the international coalition and Popular Mobilization Forces, has continued operations to purge terrorists and identify the sleeper cells of Daesh in certain areas.

In November 2020, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said that Daesh had stepped up its activities in the country in recent months, including in parts of the western province of Anbar, in Kirkuk and Diyala provinces and in parts of Nineveh province in the country's north.

CBP intercepts fake N95 masks worth $350K that originated in China

HOUSTON – (CBP) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Houston Seaport intercepted a shipment of counterfeit N95 masks that with an estimated Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of almost $350,000.

The shipment of counterfeit masks originated in China and were destined to White Plains, N.Y. before CBP officers intercepted it, April 7.

“Counterfeit goods not only hurt the competitiveness of U.S. manufacturers, but they also pose substantial health and safety hazards for American consumers,” said Houston CBP Port Director Roderick Hudson “In this instance, these counterfeit N95 respirators may not be effective at filtering airborne particles.”

When the shipment arrived at the Houston Seaport, CBP officers examined it and found 171,460 masks with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health logo on the boxes. When CBP officers contacted the trademark holder, they were advised that this shipment was not licensed, and CBP determined the masks were in fact counterfeit.

Counterfeiters have recognized the demand for personal protective equipment remains high. In the first three months of calendar year 2021, CBP seized 18 million counterfeit face masks. For comparison, CBP seized more than 12 million counterfeit face masks in all of fiscal year 2020 and only 1,300 counterfeit face masks in fiscal year 2019.

For the Houston area of operations, CBP seized 2.1 million counterfeit PPE masks from January to March of this year which was a stark increase from the 365,000 counterfeit face masks seized in all of 2020.

Hudson cautions consumers to remain alert for counterfeit and unapproved PPE.

“A few simple steps that consumers can take to protect themselves from becoming unsuspecting victims to those peddling counterfeit goods are to purchase goods only from reputable retailers,” Hudson said. “And when shopping online, read the seller’s reviews, check for a working U.S. phone number and a U.S. address that can be used to contact the seller.”

The seized counterfeit masks were turned over to the agency’s Fines, Penalties and Forfeiture’s office for final disposition.

Judge Grants Jewish Sailor Temporary Reprieve After Navy Orders Him to Shave Beard

A federal judge on Thursday temporarily postponed orders a deployed sailor was facing to shave his beard – an order he says infringes on his religious rights.

Electrician's Mate (Nuclear) 3rd Class Edmund Di Liscia, a Hasidic Jew aboard the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt, was counseled Thursday and ordered to shave his beard by Friday. Di Liscia previously obtained an accommodation allowing him to wear a beard in uniform for religious reasons, but was told by his ship's command that the rule had been overridden.

Di Liscia wrote in his counseling record that being ordered to shave violates his religious practices. He called the order to shave "extremely humiliating and deeply jarring to my psyche and soul."

A request for a temporary restraining order was then filed Thursday on Di Liscia's behalf in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. The temporary restraining order would prevent the Defense Department from being able to force the sailor to shave his beard.

As a devout Hasidic Jew even before he joined the Navy, Di Liscia "sincerely believes that he must maintain a beard to comply with his religious obligations," the documents state. However, failing to shave, or refusing to allow himself to be shaved, would put him in violation of a direct order, it adds, which could lead to "substantial punishment" from the Navy.

"Within this form of Orthodox Judaism, it is a religious requirement and an expression of obedience and fidelity to God for men not to cut the side and edges of their hair," the court documents state. "… The growth of facial hair also promotes physical and spiritual modesty and is a sign of spiritual maturity in his faith community."

Eric Baxter, an attorney with the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, wrote that the Navy was requiring Di Liscia to shave only as a matter of procedure. That goes against the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and the U.S. Constitution, he said.

In a brief hearing Thursday, a federal judge ordered a temporary stay in the case. With the ship operating halfway around the world, District Judge Timothy Kelly said he wanted to give himself and the Defense Department's team more time to learn about the sailor's circumstances.

Joseph Carilli Jr., who was representing the Defense Department, said Chief of Naval Personnel Vice Adm. John Nowell sent an order to Di Liscia's chain of command to freeze any moves that would require the sailor to shave his beard. Since the ship is operating in the Pacific, Carilli said it was difficult to immediately confirm whether Nowell's order had been received by the carrier's commanding officer.

It's not clear whether Nowell gave a timeframe for how long Di Liscia will be allowed to keep his beard as his case is reviewed. Officials in Nowell's office and on the carrier Roosevelt did not immediately respond to questions about Di Liscia's case.

Dana is just so lucky

weird

So she just fails miserably at her job and then all of a sudden, she's press secretary for some congressman in DC

Shontell: You go off to college in Colorado and there are a few jobs in between, but how do you wind up then at the White House? You arrive right around 9/11.

Perino: I did.

Well, what happened was, I had gone to graduate school and I thought I was going to be a local news reporter, and I liked covering politics, but I was surprised at what I thought was an institutional media bias against Republicans and conservatives. I didn't even really think I was a conservative. And I can see issues from both sides; I don't feel too strictly partisan. But I did notice it, and I would just hear things that I thought was so unfair.

But the real reason I left local news was that I realized I couldn't hack it.Part of it was that the climb up the ladder seemed so arduous back then and the pay was terrible. And really, if you think about the three network jobs — ABC, NBC, CBS is really all that exists all the time. CNN had just started. They were all held by men and they had been the same job since I was a teenager, so I just didn't see a path up.

But then one day I got asked by the newsroom to go cover a trial that was starting that day, and there was a woman who was a mother of a 2-year-old, and that child was killed by a friend of hers, and I was supposed to go to the courthouse and try to get an interview with her'. So I went, and I was so nervous, mostly because I felt like I couldn't approach or that that was like a violation of her privacy, which is — that's what reporters do. You are supposed to violate privacy so you can get to the story.

I was at the courthouse and I circled that woman three timesand I realized, I'm not going to do it. So I went back to the newsroom, said I was sorry, and I called my dad and said, "I don't think I want to do this here." And he says, "Well, don't worry; I'll come get you in a couple of weeks after graduation, we'll drive home, and we'll figure it out." So I went home like every good graduate student does after they finish and I waited tables and lived in my parents’ basement,and ultimately I got a job on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

She was also convicted of drink-driving in December and banned from the roads

The 49-year-old known for being the weather presenter on Bristol's Points West

A BBC weather presenter who allegedly called the corporation 'the devil' and is said to have attended two anti-lockdown marches led by Piers Corbyn has left her job.

Jemma Cooper, who was best known for her regular appearances on Bristol's Points West Programme, no longer works for the BBC where she has been employed since 1999.

It comes as the 49-year-old has been convicted of drink driving, after being found over twice the legal limit behind the wheel on August 31 last year.

It is not clear whether her departure from the corporation where she has worked for 20 years was a result of her quitting, or her contract being terminated. The BBC declined to clarify when approached for comment by MailOnline.
