Just had an idea, I can't archive all pics because of IP limits on archive.org.

But what I could do is to archive pics according to their resolution. I need to check how many pics are right now above 1000x1000 resolution.

If there are not that many, I could grab these.

Most pics with lower resolution should still be readable when only seeing the thumbnail.

Happens to us all I think. Me anyway.

If my post doesn't go through / appear quickly I refresh / reload the page.

The bad lag usually comes at the last 100 posts. CtrlF and search for a word string you've typed. It might be there, maybe not.

When baking though, wait a few secs then refresh the page. That's when you're glad you baked super-early.

Let me know how it goes trying that.

EDUCATIONAL BAKING SITUATION

1. Newish baker bakes bred with wrong number and a coupla of 'new baker' errors.

2. Anons give feedback on errors.

3. Bred's pretty fast so pretty soon it's well past 100.

4. Prolly first time baker's screwed up the number, so he kinda wants to 'undo' the situation (espec bad bred number).

5. Bakes a second bread w/correct bred number.

6. By that time, first bred is past @150.

7. Tries to get anons to jump breads but nope - first bread has too much momentum.

8. Second baker tries to help - says that (a) even if he's told BO to delete first bred - which he did - BO won't delete a 751 bred, so no worries. (b) bakers can't force anons to switch to the "correct" bred, coz once a bred is really going, it's going.

9. Baker keeps trying but no dice.

10. Eventually baker relents and returns to first bread; asks second baker to take notes, maybe coz he's still doing dough corrections.

11. Second baker post notes a coupla times but see no sign of baker and it's getting late.

12. Baker posts he's having connection problems.

13. Second baker asks for handoff to bake but baker keeps it.

14. Relents soon after and gives handoff; second baker bakes it.

= = = = =

What new bakers need to know:

- it's easy to misnumber breds - it's too bad but not that big a deal. It's always handled by informing BO/BVs with a Report, not by baking a new bred! ;-}

- to bakers who want to 'start over' with a new bread:

DON'T DO IT lightly.

But if you do it, DO IT IMMEDIATELY, before bread 'takes off.' (would say within 25 posts)

- When it's obvious that anons aren't following you to the new bread, GIVE IT UP, don't 'go down with the ship'. Apologize, report second bread for deletion, return to bake bread #1.

- If after something like this - and if yer also having techie problems - say YES when another baker offers to bake. (can take time to reset.)

Here's the deal:

There is "basic" baking and "experienced" baking.

Only way to be "experienced" is thru having lotsa bakes under yer belt - which means lotsa mistakes.

THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE!!

New bakers aren't expected to know everything at once. Bakers work with one another and with anons as a team. Mistakes humble us but also make us better bakers.

Would go one further, and say: If you have generated a dough post, and thus technically "completed the bake (in the eyes of all the aggregators aspecially).. It is too late for a redo; you are only creating more work for others, by doing it.

So this is something that starts to smell shill if it continues for any longer than the very first time it happens (and gets called out), fwiw. Anons aren't stupid, even if they do not bake, they understand what wasted resources are.

- Note collectors most often volunteer to help when a bread is ghosted. Incoming baker can support them with thanks - also by mentioning their collecting role as note taker in the final bun.

'' - Note collectors can also collect notables for busy bakers who can't collect or during Q bakes. Make sure you know when note collectors will drop notables (usually 2-3x per bread, last drop @600-650). Support their efforts with ty's, with good comms, and by answering any questions they may have.

Collectors know that any notables they select are basically suggestions until baker posts a notables list. With new note collectors, may be necessary to edit the list a little or a lot; with experienced note collectors, often best to take most or all unless there's something that really doesn't seem notable (imo).
