Live Baking Seminar

02/20/2020

We in here

This evening we'll be answering questions on anything regarding baking.

Bakers old and new are here and happy to answer questions and pass on tips.

As such, feel free to ask anything.

Running simultaneously will be a live, step by step baking class where you'll make your own bread in this practice area here at /comms.

Thanks

Thank you all for coming, to the bakers for their great help and support, and to /comms anon for the support and kind offer of this space.

Q Needs Bakers

The bake team is currently running on a skeleton crew and has been for a few months.

We desperately need some new bakers for all shifts to lighten the load.

We're all here and happy to help new bakers with all the info and support you need so that you can all step in whenever you have time to help in the kitchen.

Here's to a great session.

o7

Welcome

How about the venue, folks?

So while we're filtering in we could go over some questions asked last week. One was,

"How do you handle shills and attacks?"

Bakers, care to weigh in?

Just heard that POTUS' Collorado Springs Rally is at 5pm MST tonight, at the same time as the baking meet, 7pm EST.

We may postpone until after the rally, or could watch the rally while during class.

What do you all think?

howdy baker

gyb / FRee_Baker in the house.

clearnet went down briefly today i heard

so made a new Baker Tip (below).

Now there are three:

'''Baking Tips #1 and #2:

#1 How to ghost a bread

#2 How to show a ghost pickup in notables

#3 How to bake in TOR

No particular order, just create them when i see the issue come up.

Other ideas: how to deal with duplicate breads, how to handoff, how to respond to last-minute requests at end of bread, worst-case baking scenarios, etc.

These tips are just from one baker based on my experience. But can serve as discussion topics where bakers share a variety of ideas.

———-

Baking Tip #3: TOR Baking

If Clearnet goes down and you're baking, what do you do?

use TOR instead

1. Make sure you've got TOR downloaded & installed.

2. Use current TOR address to access 8kun, this one works:

http://jthnx5wyvjvzsxtu.onion/

for Qresearch catalog:

http://jthnx5wyvjvzsxtu.onion/qresearch/catalog.html

for Qresearch index:

http://jthnx5wyvjvzsxtu.onion/qresearch/index.html

3. When BAKING, insert this YouTube vid as the General image:

https://youtu.be/iAkdgQ4k5h4

(Put in Embed field as usual)

This link is also in Global Notables as of now.

4. Once you've baked, type out a nice little message for all the shills/sleep anons who ask

"Why is baker using wrong image??"

>how to deal with shill attacks

Most shill attacks offer ZERO evidence or crappy evidence. If you are in the mood to respond, demand proof. Or offer a refutation, see below.

Last shill tactic: saying bakers hoard the breads.

Solution: screenshot requests for new bakers.

The CAPS are from night before last – right after the shills were complaining about bakers club, exclusive handoffs, kek.

Hope they complain some more, will just keep collecting these and posting them. Sadly, they seem to have shut up for now.

Shills care best ignored when baking I find.

Keep an eye out for genuine anons who are letting you know about a mistake in the dough or thread number or something else, they always do so respectfully.

Any one being a faggot I ignore while baking. Anons are great at sorting out any shills attacking the baker.

I think of POTUS getting insulted and having arrows thrown at him daily, constantly, and that gives me inspiration.

I'm so glad you're listening!

Except it's like an abuser telling someone they can leave at any time~

How do you address the extremely coordinated manipulation champaign that forces the Bowers to love/trust the Baker with Baker girls?

How do you address the similarity between the pressence of IRGC trannies and the linguistic tells of the bakers?

How do you logically assume there has been no relentless effort to secure the baking position against outside (non IRGC) control?

Yet you posit that an abuser telling someone to leave is proof of an open kitchen?

You have a lot to learn about thinking with your own mind.

(Though I know well you're proud of your mission here)

Welcome in anons.

Glad you could make it.

>but may be over my head.

Not at all, if you can post something like this example:

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.

One thing worth noting:

when this message comes up a lot, it affects the baking process in that – although everything posts ok (usually) – you have to leave time to empty out each field. So you start earlier. Gotta start earlier than last year, anyway, because of the posting lag. Say around 660 - 700? Depending on bred speed.

MAGIC 8 BALL

Obvious:

- recent newsy twats and articles not already notabled (check qresear.ch)

Less obvious:

- anon analyses of Q posts etc - espec autistic ones that may either be genius or junk (i usually wait for autistFags to ratify)

- old but relevant posts (e.g., on Victoria's Secret - decided to note the lot right after Q posted last night and put em together so anons could use for diggs)

- stuff from so-so sources (usually ask for an additional source)

there's moar, but that gives you an idea…..

that is the hardest part. It comes with experience and spending time cruising the bred. Checking past notables buns before you bake helps you discern what is notable (or could be). You should open the link of the article in question and see how old it is, check the date issued and see how many comments have been posted to it. Also checking in the archive to see if it has already been placed in. Anons will tell you if they want it notable. If you note something that shouldn't be in they will also tell you. Do not be afraid to ask for input .

>How do you tell what is notable and what is not?

this is the crux of baking

the editorial discretion to pick notables

each baker, being an individual will have different results when asked to pick a list of notables from a bread.

for me it should be

A. relevant to the Q research subjects

B. have source

C. have summary text

D. have relevant graphic

sometimes something is notable that doesn't quite fit

I personally avoid the jewish subjects unless it's recent and very relevant because it just stirs up too much shit whenever something on that particular subject is posted as a notable.

for each post, the main field we use is the Comment field. When the error "server too long" message comes up, you have to erase everything in it before adding next post. During baking, it's a little annoying sometimes because you're under time constraints. So just leave extra time, takes a while to figure out timing but just part of the bake process.

Big time shill tactic is to POST OLD STUFF with NO DATE in the link during a busy bread. Baker puts it in, then the shill attacks him for doing it. One reason to encourage anons to check for a date on any potential notable – especially vids, baker always has to check for dates & titles on them, very seldom included.

pastebin.com is your rifle and best friend as a baker. Not your only friend. It is best to have a text editor program. There are many that are free.

But at the end of the day, you're going to have to fire a pastebin or pick one up to show continuity. Unavoidable unless pastebin is down… That said, it's not hard a website at all to navigate.

what you're really "avoiding" is anons' posts that show Jewish subversion which is not flattering to Jews. Organized Jewish Cabal infiltration and subversion of the US Constitution.

the proofs are the ones that seem to generate the most negative feedback- I will ask everyone for some feedback on those as I've seen some pretty sketchy ones in the past 6 months (excepting the 3 months of downtime we had).

Those are not my strong suit and I am honest about it.. so asking for feedback is always going to help baker and anons. Have put some in on the bottom under a "mention" line for others to evaluate. This morning I glossed over an anons submission that had a source article that was already posted. He politely asked for it to be considered and upon re-examining it it was placed in the bun. Anons can be dicks sometimes but this one was not. A little courtesy goes a long way-not saying kiss ass 'cause that's bs as well. The moar timea baker has to make on one crumb takes away time for examining the rest of the bred crumbs. Always provide a title for your submission if not a straight up article.

When making a notable post it is VERY helpful to copy the title on to the crumb and then mark it notable. Saves some time, and hands.

>error, no sweat

good point.

worst case scenario for new bakers

you fail to bake

OR

your pastebin goes is a total disaster (bad, incomplete, wrong order, etc)

Either someone will make another bread (usually within a few minutes, a little longer during gy)

OR

they will drop a corrected pastebin on the current bread for next baker.

worse case scenario = fixable.

>evaluating anon Q proofs, similar stuff

These are ALWAYS the toughest.

They are often complicated.

They almost never include a brief description.

I have asked many times, but seldom get much.

Theory: it's because the kind of anon that does this kind of analysis is best with visuals not descriptions. Or the theory is not fully-formed.

Alt theory: they're the product of shills who try to sound profound.

The problem is telling the difference as the bred goes whizzing by……

Shills can really go to town on these posts, really trash the baker. But in the end, if i'm really unsure, I tell the poster (and nomming anons) that i'm just not comfortable. Ask them to try another baker who is.

If an analysis is really worthwhile, figure it's bound to gain recognition within a day or so. What's the rush??

pastebin not hard imo.

by the time i get to that point, i usually feel like i'm over the hump. just one moar step.

One key thing is to check the pastebin to make i've copypastad & uploaded the ENTIRE dough from the text editor.

Sometimes possible to cut stuff off when you're tired or distracted.

need is pretty great

bc when even one regular baker isn't available

(sick, away, etc.)

others make sacrifices to be here

it's been that way since May, tbh

anyone can bake

u don't have to have muh technical skills

u do have to be able to multitask well enough to juggle stuff -

but not at first

first just do practice bakes in /comms/

or just do notables -

do one thing at a time

then begin to combine

start with slower shifts (nites, early am, graveyard)

try to shadow bake (fake bake in /comms/)

ask baker check your bred afterwards

all bakers will do this

many options exist

baking class will happen again next week same time

come if u can

meanwhile, if u you have moar q's here, ask them here and someone will answer

Excellent bread, new baker. All looks perfect.

Just a small thing on the thread title. Maybe bake another one with the bread title like in this slide -

We usually just copy the thread name from the current thread in the Catalog, paste it in and change the number and thread name.

Maybe also try making a new pastebin and posting your dough post in your new threads.

Here's a list off the things I can think of -

- Comfy with cut, copy and pasting info

- Able to follow basic instructions to learn

- Have a pc (mobile or tablet baking is possible but for advanced levels really)

- Open to learning (we will always support you in that)

- Have some time available to bake (week days, week nights, late nights, weekends, whatever suits you)

- Have a good understanding of English

- Be able to communicate through type / text

- Be able to navigate the board catalog and threads

- Work well as part of a team

Helpful -

- An interest in current affairs and happenings

- A general knowledge of Q posts

- A general knowledge of the political players

- A steady disposition, not easily triggered

- Able to admit and accept being wrong

- Able to be easy on yourself about small mistakes and learn from them

Hope that's helpful anon. There may be more which I'll add if I think of any, and if anyone else has anything to add, please feel free.

In the helpful list are things that are useful, but not necessary. You'll quickly learn these.

Baking is a huge learning curve where new skills are learned and honed at lightning speed. No-one is pressurizing you but you notice with each bake you make how you yourself can improve next time.

Bakers who have baked for years still make mistakes regularly, are still honing skills and learning new things constantly.

The learning doesn't stop, and in that respect it's an amazing personal experience.

Again, it's personal improvement, and not anything which anyone here would notice.

A really valuable tip I would pass on, is to communicate if you've made a mistake and say sorry, such as "sorry anons, about the missing fresh bread link - I'll bake earlier next time", and things like that.

Any mistakes such as the above and ALL OTHER POSSIBLE mistakes can be rectified and aren't big deals.

Funny, but the night after u posted this, baker ran into a SHILL trying to tear down baker after he had left (and couldn't defend himself). Coward!

But baker dropped in and saw the 3 shill posts attacking him for a "bad notable." Calling baker a shill or fucktard, kek.

In a case like this, it's ALWAYS good to respond, especially if the charge is easily disproven, see CAP.

sorry for the delay.

It is a tool that highlights notables, has few extra butons to view previous breads while on the board, change colors of posts, navigate from notable to notable. It makes scrolling/searching for a posts way easier. it is located here if you want to try it: https://pastebin.com/dN5FhHCv Be advised though, it takes a bit more cache memory when using it and slows down the board a tad bit, but the perks are worth it in my opinion.

>>6653

Sounds good, automating things we've just learned to do manually.

One of the best tools for baking is Ctrl F, the find function. You can paste in Q's trip and quickly scan, if you forget a post number for a notable just search for a word you remember from it, or the subject, someone's UID to check their posts… it's a huge, huge help.

I also keep qmap.pub open. That's useful as well.

It's rare that you miss a Q post, but it can happen when you're up-bread collecting notables and Q's just posted, the board's going wild and you've no idea until you scroll and see all the replies. kek.

That's fun.

yes CTRL + F is excellent to find words or UID's, etc.

Just as a side note if you did not know, once you copy the baker tool script from the pastebin, you pasta the script in the options tab (top right) and select the button that reads "</> JS" and then click save. The board will automatically reload with the new tool.

In that case, just jump to it and hope for the best.

If you've collected notes from up top, you can leave notes and just concentrate on Q's posts.

When Q's posting stay at the edge / foot of the bread. Pre-bake early early.

What I do for jumping around the thread is -

- At the post I'm up to, click on 'No' for post number at the top of the post. That acts as a placeholder for you.

- Scroll to the foot to check the post number of the thread or if Q's posted. OR

- Enter something into the CtrlF find box and quickly up and down to get what you're looking for.

- When you want to get back to your place, just click forward or back on your browser and you'll get straight to it again.

It's really useful.

Like on this thread, using CtrlF, I searched for 'BAKE POST', and could find them all easily, grab the link I wanted and get back to my place and post it.

Go through the motions of writing in imaginary notables (a couple), then do it all over.

hit clone and bake again

hey doc, sounds like u usually do your notables within the dough paste (rather than in a separate text doc)? i do it two ways, depending on when i "inherit" the bred:

1. when grabbing dough at the start of bred:

then i use a separate doc so i can jot down "notable possibles" to ask anons about or notables that I will only include if anons nom them (or if notable bun is really light).

2. when grabbing after 550:

then i job down notes within the dough paste, don't bother with a separate doc. not much time, not that many changes from then on.

>I can tell I need a more practice because I am slow

i was slow too (and am still slower than some others)

Took so long to bake a real bred that baker gave me the nickname "tick-tock timer" after i said i was waiting to get the timing right.

just takes practice, i'm ok now (although timing is always a little weird these days because of changing lag times for posting – most bakers bake early just in case, like around 670-680.

TIP:

Make the "NEW THREAD" early, say at 680 (good because the first page almost always takes extra time to "drop" – not in /comms/ but in /qresearch).

Then, while waiting for the "drop," post last notables to current bread and then record post number in the dough.

Third, open the catalog in a new tab, find your new thread (takes up to half a minute max). Add additional pages 2, 3, 4 (Notables, War Room and Q Posts Archives) – plus dough post.

This way, you can start the bread early without having to have Notables posted too early (before 690).

(During really slow shifts, start about 10-15 posts later. During Q shifts, start baking at maybe 650-660.)

>got named

yes, me too - similar scenario, kek.

I suggested a name for a baker once and he liked it so it stuck. Names handy at times; in that case, two of us were constantly interacting and needed to be clear on who was doing what. Generally speaking, I prefer to bake with a baker tag or a named pastebin. No problem with bakers who make a different choice, good for "muh diversity" of ideas about what's appropriate.

Kek. Up til now bakers have been usually named by the other bakers organically, it just comes, somehow, as a nickname does from your homies.

Niks can and do change too.. over time, and often each baker has their personal nick for another baker.

That also helps us evade being targeted and works well for comms. That said, things have always changed and evolved here and that’s a great thing. What’s always generally been done doesn’t mean it has to say that way. The good ideas tend to be adopted really quickly, others fall away naturally.

Under the radar with my nik is what I prefer, and actually cringe when someone uses it unnecessarily. I think it’s unfair to anons and against what we are as a hive mind, as one entity. Bakers generally know you by syntax or images when baking, which takes away the need to use niks as well. Just my personal opinions here. I’ve also seen so many other bakers get personally targeted by nik. Everyone’s different though, thinks differently, and that’s gUD.

That’s interesting to hear. Good methods there.

I always copy the entire dough into Notepad++ and make a space for new notes there.

It seems useful as if any other changes are made like dead links fixed or Q posts consolidated, GMT graphics added etc, there’s just the one doc being changed.

If special comms are needed it’s ok, but that’s rare, and bakers ofter let me know they know it’s me by using a twist on the nik, or use a phrase or syntax we use together, or an image.

I could take a look as well to see if it could be stripped down. Didn’t get a chance to play with it yesterday but will do.

I like to be on the edge of the bread to get Q posts quickly, and hence know to up a few gears, speed up, prepare the job early amd baker earlier, but it’s not always possible to be on the edge when you’re checking for notables, their quality and adding them.

i have nickname for unnamed (heroic) baker who has a pink sparkley image and sometimes e-bakes ghosted graveyard breds; to me, he is "sparkles". Not sure he would embrace that name but it's how i think of him, kek.

Even when there are no names, the human mind will try to make distinctions to organize information, starts very early. Even here we do this; it's natural. The key thing imo is to hold the mindset that, whatever an anon's identity–and whether they are more conspicuous due to their role or more anon–what matters is the work. It is what unites us and ennobles our actions.

You are the only baker who started during the worst of the "baker's union" attacks last Spring. Despite many "ads" for bakers, it was obvious why no one else appeared – or if they did, why they did not stay. One brand new baker was immediately attacked as "comp'd" after his first bake. Didn't see him again, kek. But you stuck it out.

Was comparatively easy to get new bakers on /qrb/. Two appeared very quick. Nice place to work; who wouldn't want that kind of bakery?

well, that is when i bake. but after 1 or 2am Pacific, there's still a gap (usually). But it's much better than before; when BO and shills were attacking night bakers last spring, the gap was much bigger and there were more shill bakes and shill activity in general. The presence of bakers – and even note-takers – on nite shifts really helps keep things on track (so it's not just shitposting and slides on legalizing marijuana, kek). Nothing wrong witha little shitposting at nite but not when it's because shills have made it impossible to do anything else.

Sparklesbaker, kek. That’s funny. And right, whether it’s by images, syntax or time of day, we start to make connections. Anons and baker’s skills of seeing in the dark are honed quickly and honed well.

The work is indeed what matters, unites us and binds us together. Nice words there baker.

Baker, would you be happy for someone to bake when you usually bake sometimes, to share the load, if that new baker is available at that time?

It helps me a whole lot when there are bakers around at the usual time I bake, because sometimes I need a break or have to be elsewhere at that time.

We all need time off to R and R, and it’s healthy to have a change up and different bakers baking at different times.

I often dive in during the day too if there’s a need and if I’ve time for a bake or 2, b/c the bakers there have varying schedules and can’t always be there every day or as long as they usually are.

Then I stand back in the evening and give someone else the opportunity to bake at my usual time. There are usually some old fags who pick it up and bake that time for a change.

I also offer handoffs every bread, so anyone wanting to whirl it for a while can have the opportunity. There’s also so much more to do when not baking, and it gives the time to work on other GA projects.

What do you think?

Sure there will be plenty opportunities for you to step in and bake at all times anon. Weather permitting is fine, whatever works for you. It doesn’t have to be an every day commitment.

If you get the skills first, and then start to practice live when you can, you’ll always have them to step up when a handoff is asked for.

If you’re up for baking, you could always say to the baker you’re around and available to bake any time he wants a break. Most will be happy to give you the opportunity and to get a break themselves.

Yes. I like gy shift but late at night, prefer digging and hanging out to baking. Last summer at /qrb/, EuroBaker and BR from Asia usually baked then, not me.

There's at least one baker who has been baking gy or late gy for the last few days. Nice.

Post your thread as normal either from the broken catalog or the index.

Rather than scroll through to find your thread each time you refresh, CtrlF a word from your bread title and just keep refreshing the index.

Did first live bake, errors caused some issue with it, notables posted out of order, didn't get the fresh bread link in (baked around 700 instead of 650 because was slow)…moar time for errors at 650 so will know that for future.

Went 4 hours baking

>>>/qresearch/8242383 to >>>/qresearch/8243187

It wasn't pristine but doing it live taught many lessons.

Not afraid to make mistakes, everyone does, and Anons were supportive for a virgin baker.

It just happened that availability, and opportunity met at that moment in time.

Went for it knowing I wasn't as prepared as I would prefer to be.

Be honest don't worry about brutal truth, won't stop me. If time allows.

You can include some lube if you're brutal though

Known mistakes:

Notables out of order (partially from scrambling to get the bake to go through [errors posting] and missing the section)

>Tips

Was thinking about making a Baking Tips thread. Also, these class threads are valuable long-term imo. Could even be pinned, indexed or put in qresear.ch . We could ask ResignationAnon about that, he's on twitter.

>New bakers for gy

Yes, plz send anyone who wants to bake, I'll try to remember to ask for handoffs instead of just ghosting. Tip #1 talks a bit about how to ghost bc new bakers don't how it works; also, they feel like they should never leave the bread unattended. But for gy, it's routine. Even if Q posts, bred doesn't get very fast (happened twice when i was on duty), anons can handle it.

>class length

yes class goes almost 2 hours, bc newbies wander in. But then, so do bakers. I like the laid-back class idea but if you want to make it shorter, you can always end a certain time and let bakers who are still around take up the slack or just do q and a. Once you have the teaching materials set up (and maybe put in a thread?), other bakers can link them if they want. I prefer doing Q and A myself, let others do more structured live teaching. But can check a bake, etc.

>Video

What software? I have Vegas and have wanted to learn how to do vids as well. But haven't done yet.

Feedback on First Time Bake:

First of all, NZ baker, congratulations, job well done!!

Suggestion: don't say too much about where u are, i think u know why (your Prima M not too fond of 8kun)

(that said, i learned to bake bc of a great N Z baker–so welcome aboard mate!)

Here is some feedback, long only bc i always lay everything out, for clarity.

First, i baked the ghosted bred that you picked up (see my last post at the very bottom). I go by graveyard baker (gyb) or free_baker on /qrb/.

Here are some things to be aware of, my two cents worth:

- when checking to see if there's a baker, you can ask in a post but also check the dough post

- when picking up the ghost, always tag the dough post at pickup

- post final notables list before baking

- don't know if you saw it, but anon gave feedback on "flood detected" - this happens when you try to post something that 8kun thinks is already posted

You just have to change something (even put a space at the end of a line) before reposting

Looks like you didn't add moar notables to the list–which is fine for a first bake, that bred was light anyway. But in general, recommend posting two notables lists towards the end:

1: a semi-final list that lets anons see what you're including (so they can say yea or nay)

do this between 600-650 (closer to 600 if you're new)

2: a final list that you're baking

this is more for the baker, so you can get the link, but also lets anons know to wait to post moar notables (this is around 680-700)

(there's a trick you can use too - ask me if you want)

Ordering the notables:

My list @310 is shown below. It's ordered from top to bottom but bakers do it both ways. If i pick up a bake from a ghost or another baker mid-bread, i use the same approach he used. Just to keep things simple.

>>8242143 Anon makes a case for Mexico ss the intended target of the insurgency

You didn't list the notes before baking but the final list in next bred looked like this:

#10552

>>8242486 New NZ Baker bread #4, WWG1WGA WW

>>8242143 Anon makes a case for Mexico as the intended target of the insurgency

>>8242028, >>8242093, >>8242057 Phil Haney "Suicide" Report Walked Back By Amador County Sheriff's Office (vid clip + article)

>>8242008 Anon: Qatar-Turkey gas pipeline and Muslim Brotherhood in Syria

>>8241923 Planefag Report (COBRA13)

>>8242569 #10552

You (or someone) reversed the order–which is fine if you prefer that and have time to do it.

When picking up mid-bred, you wanna put "new baker" or "baker change" (etc) where you picked up. If from ghost, i usually say that too. Shows why notables may be a short list:

#10552

>>8242486 New NZ Baker bread #4, WWG1WGA WW

new baker pick-up from ghost

>>8242143 Anon makes a case for Mexico as the intended target of the insurgency

>>8242008 Anon: Qatar-Turkey gas pipeline and Muslim Brotherhood in Syria

>>8241923 Planefag Report (COBRA13)

>>8242569 #10552

The post below shows you how to ghost if you need to. (If it's during USA daytime, usually say "baker must leave" or "hardstop." Because Q could post. For graveyard shift, not necessary.

It's a timing trick. So you can start baking earlier and with less stress.

- Basically, you post LAST CALL notables around 620-640 and then transfer them to the actual dough, so everything's all set.

- Then create the new thread around say 650-670.

- As you know, thread will usually take up to 30 seconds to appear in catalog or index.

- Instead of just waiting for it to drop, USE THAT TIME to go back to the old bred and see how the notables are coming along. Add in anything new since LAST CALL.

- Then do a quick check to make sure that the thread is ok.

- IF YES, YOU ARE ALL SET.

- Take a few moments to relax and get ready to bake. If there are new notables, post a FINAL list to generate a link around 690+. But if there's nothing new or time if short, just bake. You can always repost notes to generate a link in next bread.

- FRESH BRED post is good but not essential for new bakers, anons can cope.

When i was new, i created the thread first and then just sat there staring at the screen, waiting for it to drop. All that did was freak me out. Finishing notables while the thread is dropping makes the process more efficient and less tense (distraction technique, kek).

Q: When do you like to bake?

If gy shift, you are certainly free to ask if a baker is needed earlier than 4 am EST. I have pretty significant tendonitis at the moment and fewer hours spent baking would be a blessing at the moment. (I love it but maybe a little too much, ha-ha.)

If you wanna just bake on the fly, that's cool too. Things always work out.

Dont' have to be a regular or daily baker. Any kind of baking is helpful, e-baking especially. just interested in getting a sense of preference bc some anons have definitely windows of time when they are available. Others will defer if they know. I bake late because many cannot, it fills a need. Would be good to get bakers both the far East and far West ("far" from the US perspective), so we have both better coverage for the board and of the news from Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia/NZ.

So both baking that one bread and discussing thing with you had me thinking on the problem and a possible solution.

One thing I noticed previously was advertising for "Graveyard Bakers". The name itself has a negative connotation for many "Ugh late night"…except that isn't the case if you specify "Bakers Needed in XYZ timezone". When you say Graveyard Baker my mind automatically thinks 12:00-8:00 Pacific.

Perhaps next time you advertise class and call for recruitment of bakers pic(s) related would help a person visualize.

Could add class times to the bottom.

Baking Tip #6: BAKING/NOTE-TAKING PROTOCOLS:

How to let anons & bakers know what's up with the bake.

GENERALLY

FIRST - Use RED TEXT or BOLD to check in

baker on duty

Goes for note collectors too. Plz anons: let us know you are there.

SECOND - Tag the DOUGH POST for key info.

YOU CAN NEVER TAG TOO MUCH!

THIRD - When grabbing an e-bake at end of bred, SHOUT IT OUT:

BAKER ON DUTY, WILL BAKE THIS BREAD

Also tag DOUGH post if there's time.

TO ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY

At start of bred:

Can bake

Can bake a few

Can bake until 5pm EST

Can bake one bread then hardstop

Can bake one bread then ghost if no takers

Gotcha baker, see ya at the dough post

If bread is ghosted ( = no baker on duty):

Baker assuming responsibility

Baker picking up the ghost

TO SEEK ANOTHER BAKER/NOTE-TAKER

At start of bread:

Baker seeks handoff

At end of previous bred (often at the bottom of mid- to late-bread notables):

Baker seeks handoff NB

Baker seeks handoff NB, will ghost @100

If urgent:

Baker must leave

Anons, plz step up

EXAMPLE HANDOFFS

Old baker:

Baker seeking handoff

Lurking baker:

Baker here, handoff confirmed?

Old baker:

You got the bread, baker

Old baker:

Baker must leave

Lurking baker:

Gotcha baker, handoff confirmed

Old baker:

Acknowledged.

Have a good bake!

GHOST BAKING

Ghost bakes = when breds have no baker.

Comms are especially important in any ghost bake.

Ghost bake protocols:

Baker must leave, ghost bake in 5

Anons, plz step up.

if there's no response:

Baking departing the kitchen

GHOST BAKE in effect

When next baker picks up the Ghost:

Baker assuming responsibility

or Ghost Bake cancelled or

Baker grabbing the ghost. Anons, please post notables.
