Reminder that the unsaved are not merely waiting for your astounding apologetic argument to persuade them, they're actively rebelling against the truth of God.

If you share the gospel with a man and he does not beleive, you are not failing to reach an impartial observer; he had already chosen to reject God and is choosing again to continue rejecting God. He is without excuse.

In the inverse, this means that you don't need to train until you're an expert apologist before sharing the gospel. The reality of God is already an observable fact to everyone you encounter.

God bless

Are you implying that it is NOT important to train yourself and arm yourself with knowledge?

If so, I disagree; the atheists will throw everything at you, and even though the Spirit will tell you what to say when the time comes, it's a bad idea to not be informed of a particular thing.

Alternatively, apologetics simply isn't a lot of believers' thing. Fair enough. I for one just bought a Quran (begrudgingly) to know every word of that false religion's doctrine.

The amount of knowledge necessary to share the gospel is the same amount that saved you. It's also important to get better, but being untrained as an apologist isn't a good enough excuse not to evangelise.

A nonbeliever friend of mine is lost and in need of Christ. He has recently shown receptivity and curiosity for the Christian message. I continue to pray for God to draw him to Himself.

This friend has previously never had much inclination to philosophical thinking and the like, until recently. He has spoken favorably about Jordan Peterson and owns a copy of his book "12 Rules for Life". I have never seen him reading anything before so this may be a change in his priorities. I think he is searching for meaning.

I don't have much respect for self-help books nor Peterson's dishonest use of the Christian ethos in his efforts to reform his cult following of young, wayward men. I have mentioned the latter once to my friend but I did not want to belittle what could be his first real search for true meaning in life, so I said no more.

How do you all think I should approach my friend to share the Gospel?

Would it look any differently than if I wanted to talk to any atheist?

More info: A stumbling block for my friend is how he sees the morals of the Bible. He is unconvinced, for example, that a heterosexual marriage is at all more morally good than a homosexual union since a homosexual union is between consenting adults and "doesn't hurt anyone". As far as I can tell, his view of morality is that people just do what works for them and that is what's good.

Following my gut I intend to share first and foremost my love of Christ and how mind-blowing he is as seen in the Bible.

This thread may not be necessary since my friend hasn't seen fit to bring up Peterson again, but I thought it could provoke some good discussion. Thoughts?

Thanks, I will check him out. But why on earth would you call my opposition to JP's message a "bias"? That Christianity is a Jungian myth of spiritual (but not factual) truth? We as Christians affirm the historical facts of the incarnation, death, and resurrection of the Son of God, and JP is telling people otherwise. Are you saying I should be okay with my friend falling into that trap?

The fact that equality is included can not be looked past. It is proof that the argument is wrong. The entire point is that there is objective morality. If the argument is made both with and without equality as an objective moral good, then it isn't objective, it is subjective, contradicting the entire point of the argument.

>But why on earth would you call my opposition to JP's message a "bias"? That Christianity is a Jungian myth of spiritual (but not factual) truth?

You just highlighted your bias right there. That isn't his message at all. He uses Jung to make illustrative points, but it isn't his gospel, so focusong on that is a red herring. Nobody I've seen that's gone from Atheist to Christian via JBP dwells on Jung nearly as much as anti-JBP people do. Jung is a means to an end for JBP, not the end itself.

This is why it's hard to take anybody seriously that isn't familiar with JBP's work. His magnum opus is Maps of Meaning if anything, and that's not very Jungian at all. It isn't something that instantly takes people directly to Christianity, it's a gateway drug that enables people to even consider the possibility. The mainstream world is so secular these days, that it can't even handle something as direct as C. S. Lewis' Mere Christianity. Thus JBP fills a niche as someone who can reintroduce modern people to the Christian path again by reaching down to their level and dragging them out of it, instead of naively hoping that people will willingly climb up out of their holes to find God.

>We as Christians affirm the historical facts of the incarnation, death, and resurrection of the Son of God,

The key phrase here is as Christians. It might come as a surprise to you if you've never been an Atheist before, but Atheists/Agnostics usually aren't willing to even expose themselves to the evidence of these things, much less consider their authenticity, without having the entire endeavor justified to them from a secular materialist lens first. And that is precisely what Peterson is doing. He isn't baptizing people, he's opening the gates to their stone cold hearts so they can even have a chance to "come and see".

>and JP is telling people otherwise.

No he isn't. He's even received a lot of flack from the secular world for defending the possibility of resurrection. If he were to go full preacher and loudly affirm it Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

I'm a criminal defence lawyer and I just sat through an infuriating sentencing hearing. The judge screamed and yelled and played silly games and acted like a demoniac all trial. Finally he convicted someone who was likely innocent and sentenced him to a long jail term.

When a judge is merciful to some one accused of a crime, it makes the papers and everyone is outraged. But no one cares when a judge shows no mercy, convicts people who are likely innocent based on flimsy grounds and gives outrageously disproportionate sentence.

Given a choice between judgement and mercy, I want to be on the side of mercy every time. And if this heartless world is against me, that's all the more evidence I'm right. Christians believe that one day God will rain fire on this whole wicked world. As far as I'm concerned that day can't come soon enough. Doing this job has thought me the meaning of "he who is a friend to this world is an enemy of God."

What's it like being a criminal defence lawyer? For me, I've started cheering on natural disasters and I now think hell i a splendid idea. I hope many judges and politicians will spend an eternity there.

Paul or Peter said that the sufferings of this world is nothing compared to the glory that is to be shown to us who believe in God. Negros, Native Americans, the Irish, the Israelites, Mexicans….. fucking, the whole history of the world has experienced injustices (excuse my language).

I think there was even a verse in Revelations saying something like "the souls of the saints cry out to you God. When will you avenge them?!??!?".

But yeah….. this same bible also tells you you to rejoice in your sufferings. So there's that. Enjoy your journey in Christ, breh.

You're just asserting that the jew elite have complete control over every political appointment, that's what I'm asking for proof of.

>When the richest people are promoting luciferian creations, the rest follow.

This is not proof, this is a composition fallacy

If all these evangelical Christians can hold political office and are explicitly opposing what the NWO would be searching for, occams razor would say we presume the Jew doesn't have complete control unless you can prove otherwise.

Not every political appointment just the significant ones. It's not just the Jews, it's also the Satanic elite, did you see the luciferian themes in the supreme court of Israel?

>this is a composition fallacy

I guess you have a point there, but if they control money (as in the economy as well) they can control politics. "Give me control of a nations money supply, and I care not who makes the laws."

>If all these evangelical Christians can hold political office and are explicitly opposing what the NWO would be searching for, occams razor would say we presume the Jew doesn't have complete control unless you can prove otherwise.

I'm sure there are plenty of low level Christians in politics (not media, because all of that strictly controlled.) and at the top level they're more selective.

I'm an atheist living in the West. Christianity is on the decline in my country, and I don't think people here fully appreciate what it is that we're losing. It's not like people are becoming more intelligent and enlightened (*tips*), instead they're increasingly just fucking around with crystals and shit. Meanwhile our national identity has become weakened with the loss of a shared set of values and beliefs. On the personal level it's even worse because church attendance has historically been an important source of community in people's lives. I guess what I'm trying to say is that a religion has benefits. And if we must have a religion I'd rather it was the one of Christ. He's undeniably good, almost impossibly so. If there was a God I would believe Christ was his son.

———————————————————-

I believe in one God,

the Father, the Almighty,

Maker of all that is, seen and unseen.

I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,

the only Son of God,

eternally begotten of the Father,

God from God, Light from Light,

true God from true God,

begotten, not made, consubstantial

of one Being with the Father.

Through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation

he came down from heaven,

and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,

and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;

he suffered death and was buried.

On the third day he rose again

in accordance with the Scriptures;

he ascended into heaven

and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,

and his kingdom will have no end.

No, it means that time and chance happens to all. It does not say that chance is the only determining factor in all events.

It's a despondent observation that the right thing doesn't always happen, and the deserving don't always get their reward.

It's a meditation about the injustice of the fallen world. Jesus called it the unrighteous mammon. But you cannot serve both it and him. You can also serve the righteous Lord who is just. So this passage also draws toward the necessary existence of Christ.

>I've accepted Jesus into my heart

You don't do anything to Jesus to make Him come into your heart. You plead with Him to come into your heart and wash away your sins.

Have you repented of your sins anon?

"I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish." (Lk. 13:5 NASB)

"But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their robes and rushed out into the crowd, crying out

and saying, 'Men, why are you doing these things? We are also amen of the same nature as you, and preach the gospel to you that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.'" (Acts 14:14-15 NASB)

Have you humbled yourself, realizing you are utter filth in God's sight deserving only His wrath?

"For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. There is no one who calls on Your name, Who arouses himself to take hold of You; For You have hidden Your face from us And have delivered us into the power of our iniquities." (Isa. 64:6-7 NASB)

"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you." (James. 4:8-10 NASB)

Do you truly regret your sinful life?

"For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death." (2 Cor. 7:10 NASB)

Ask yourself these things, as without these, you cannot truly be saved.

We should absolutely never measure our relationship with God by the standard of "have I done X", because if we do, and we know our own hearts, we will always be overcome once again with the despair of damnation, because God demands so much, even of His children. When we want to know we are saved, we should do one thing and one thing only; blotting ourselves out of memory, we look at the Lord Jesus Christ and say "Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner". Always look to Christ for assurance, never to yourself, otherwise you should have no assurance.

Thoughts?

So I hear the term Jesuits tossed about in conspiracy theories or rants quite a bit, but don't really know a lot about them. From light research, I know that they're a Catholic religious order that engaged in evangelism, school founding, and took part in some black ops style stuff against the Protestants as part of the Counter-Reformation. But I've even heard Catholics themselves speak of the Jesuits with disdain and distrust. The overall vibe I get, whenever they're talked about, is of some sort of shady secret Illuminati-esque organization. What's their deal?

Knights of Columbus aren't a secret society, they're legitimately just a not-secret men's club that plays dressup and has different ranks to give men some fraternal company and all the aesthetic trappings of popular 19th century secret societies so they don't join an actual evil secret society.

Their order was quite literally created for the sole purpose of destroying Protestantism (aka true Christianity as mandated by holy writ).

No disrespect meant with this question, in fact I'm considering becoming catholic myself but I'm hesitating after a discussion I had with a catholic coworker. I asked him about freemasons, and if they are still excommunicated from church. He said they are in mortal sin and denied communion. I then asked what his opinion would be on them if the pope said tomorrow that they were fine. He said he'd accept them. I also asked him the same about abortion and homosexuality. He said he wouldn't agree. I understand that there is a big schism in the church about Vatican 2. If a Vatican 3 happened that said gay is ok and abortion is a right, would the catholic church still be the one true faith? Are you just supposed to believe whatever the church says and assume it knows better?

But even actions and remarks outside of ex cathedra can lead people into sin. It's no coincidence that the Liberal/secular world absolutely loves him.

>That's only when the pope is speaking ex cathedra

So the Holy Spirit doesn't care if millions of souls are led astray unless the pope is in his super special chair when he does it? Papist epistemology is such a joke.

The Bogus Ordo is a joke, which is why any actual Catholic resists the errors of Francis, the post-V2 Popes, and the so called "new mass"
