If you take the existence of the world as given and don't ask questions why the world exists, then you can think of an alien who is like god to us. But why do you have to? The science gives much more plausible explanation of how exactly the world works, how Earth and men appeared, etc.
But if, on the other hand, you ask the question why the world exists, then science can not give you an answer. A super highly intelligent alien is not the answer either: who has created that alien?
And by the way, God is not alien. "Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:20)

Signs and miracles were active at the time of jesus and apostles, to bring jews to christ(the non believers and to show Gods Power trough his disciples) It was a timeline were these things happened.
Apostles are not in presence today. This time finished.
