Wake up, kamaraden, you are now the Chancellor of the new German Reich. The Amerikan have left the shores of Europe and the muslim/jews are being deported/killed and the people have united under your leadership.

Now what's your plan to renovate Germany's small and aging military? I propose:

- take out all the AK74 left in East German's warehouse and retool them for 5.56

- take out all the rusty Leopard 1 and upgrade them with modern features in order to have a quick tank fleet

What else do you suggest?

>Those helmet look like stupid ass Star Wars rebel helmets.

I during my time in the Bundeswehr I have worn the Gefechtshelm M92 made of Kevlar, which has a shape similar to the Stahlhelm, I also own a East German M56/74 which I got from an ExBundeswehr soldier, who helped liquidate the equipment of the NVA after the Fall of the Iron curtain. Despite the Inlay of the M56/74 being older and more primitive than the Inlay of the M92, the East German helmet is much nicer to wear and less claustrophobic.

>The germans have discovered the best helmet design and have used it since WW1, stick to it.

The Stahlhelm of WW1 and WW2 was too much in the neck and front area which caused it to be pushed up when the soldiers got into a prone position and reduced sight, this resulted in many soldiers wearing the helmet backwards or cutting the visors off them.

Question for Anons. I was planning on going on a vacation to eastern Europe next year and I wanted to know the ins and outs of getting a firearm sent home if i found something neat. I am aware of how the FFL6 works and the crap I would need to do.

I was thinking of sending the parts separate and the receiver in some metal trash antique i can find. Both to a PO Box in a alias.

Any ideas on how to mail a broken down rifle home without much risk? I have no interest in anything that would illegal to own and what i could find. Finding some milsurp from WW2 would be neat. Everything in the US costs a fortune.

FedEx especially small boxes have very little time to be checked, and very little attention is paid to them. I have an intimate knowledge of this shit, let's just say if the drug dealers in mexico were willing to pay a bit more for shipping they would never have to invent bullshit submarines or dig tunnels.

Hello fellow /k/unts. As a BP /k/opper,I'm looking for a good pair of summer combat/hiking boots. I dont care if they are milsurp or not as long as they keep my feet dry from the rain and mud. They have to be black, less than 200 USD/yuropoors,comfortable to wear, have a high cut and be suitable for Eastern European Mountain terrain. So far I was thinking to get a pair of Nike SF Boots. I also added my shitty boots that I got from work as a comparison.

By the time the Romans came around, Sparta had already been irrelevant for quite some time. Their demise came from a Greek city state called Thebes.

Two really exceptional people(Pelopidas and Epaminondas) were born in Thebes around the same time, and propelled it to a level of power it had never seen before, or would see since. They formed a group of 300 professional hoplites called the Sacred Band who kicked Sparta's ass so hard that the Spartans would sulk in their little corner of the Peloponnese until they stopped existing.

I'm in the USA. I want to order an upper receiver from Bravo Company, and have it shipped to my grandmother's house. I'm just wondering if the mailman would make my grandmother sign any papers.

I live in an apartment, and I don't think it would be a good idea to have such a thing shipped somewhere where it would be more likely to be stolen. Not only that, but I always worry that the mailman will drop the package off at the wrong apartment, not be able to find my apartment, and hold onto the package at the post office, or something worse.

By the way, this will be my first AR-15. I'm planning on buying a lower receiver at my local gun store. Any advice would be appreciated. I guess I'd also need to order the upper along with a bolt carrier group and charging handle.

>Had the Roman’s not fought against the Chinese Empire at one point?

No idea about that, but I know for a fact that Hellenes did go in contact with the Chinese. Speaking about Kingdom of Baktria in particular. Heard about the famous terracota army of Qin dynasty? Yes, it was inspired by the design of Greek sculptures. I guess Alexander and his succesors were true badasses rivaling Romans in their prime, in the ancient times Hellenic culture went everywhere as far as India and China; Baktrians ended up basically taking over northern India at some point and massively influencing the Gandhara culture. Who knows how the world would look like without shitlamic conquests that turned the East into the smoldering ruins of civilization they continue to be today.

>muh 30 years of wear and tear

It's funny how the M60 is the only modern GPMG that seems to have such severe problems. Meanwhile Britain and Germany have no such issues with their equally beat-up MAGs and MG3s (I wouldn't be surprised if the Bundeswehr is still using a few WW2-production receivers to this day), and Britain had a hard time even getting the MAG adopted because their Vickers guns were still working fine after 40 years and >100k rounds.

Besides which, most of the complaints about the M60's durability started in Vietnam, then died off in the 70s and 80s as sturdier replacement parts were phased into service.

And there's no excusing the retarded barrel-change mechanism. There's no good reason why you should need to replace the bipod and half of the gas system with every spare barrel, it just adds a ton of extra weight and complexity.

>and half of the gas system with every spare barrel

Changing the gas block and tube seems like it would be smart on a MG since they'll get just as hot as the barrel (they're connected to and take gas from the barrel after all) since they too can be effected by heat and are an item that can dump some of the heat from the previous barrel into the new cool one.

I've always questioned why you'd even bother trying to make MGs anything other than recoil operated. Since they aren't really THAT concerned with accuracy to start with (though recoil operated MGs don't look to be hurting for it from everything I've seen) there's fewer parts to break, and it avoids heating up more parts than needed.

>It's funny how the M60 is the only modern GPMG that seems to have such severe problems

Mostly caused by way US military usually procures machine guns. US usually buys their machine guns fast and closes production few years later, then uses those guns until those fall apart. Happened with M60 and M249.

>Britain had a hard time even getting the MAG adopted because their Vickers guns were still working fine after 40 years and >100k rounds.

Vickers like most of other early machine guns were over engineered and practically indestructible. 100k rd is nothing to Vickers, just another day in the office.

<In 1963 in Yorkshire, a class of British Army armorers put one Vickers gun through probably the most strenuous test ever given to an individual gun. The base had a stockpile of approximately 5 million rounds of Mk VII ammunition which was no longer approved for military use. They took a newly rebuilt Vickers gun, and proceeded to fire the entire stock of ammo through it over the course of seven days. They worked in pairs, switching off at 30 minute intervals, with a third man shoveling away spent brass. The gun was fired in 250-round solid bursts, and the worn out barrels were changed every hour and a half. At the end of the five million rounds, the gun was taken back into the shop for inspection. It was found to be within service spec in every dimension.

If you don't have subterranean temperatures low enough, then cooling your food is a potential area of interest.

Since keeping your food cool then involves as little invasion of heat as possible, then that presents you with another challenge: insulation.

Thus, finding the most element-resistant and cost-effective and thermally resistant method of insulation becomes important. Just throwing thick layers of foam around something is the most no-brainer method.

Cooling it to a desired temperature range and keeping it there will very in cost depending on how efficient it is and how well-insulated your storage is.

None of this is that difficult. You just have to balance your cost of rotating your rations at a much lower rate due to just-above-freezing temperature of storage, or rotating them more quickly if their storage temps are higher.

Archive of previous thread- Anon's uncle provided a bunch of info, very well worth reviewing.

https://archive.fo/6A38N

There are three stories from Northern Nevada, two within rather close proximity of one another. I've done some digging and I think I've narrowed it down quite a bit.

Based on the description, we should be able to find a few abandoned mine shafts on the eastern side of the Ruby mountains.

>Per one UNR source, there should be two abandoned shafts in the vicinity of, both for tungsten.

>Cross-referencing that against their database for documents involving tungsten mines/claims in Elko county produced quite a few results.

>One definite tungsten mine location is by Battle Creek. The Battle Creek location is ~20 miles south of where we were looking, but it does have the crook in the road as described E Zed. The trees are there as described, but I can't see a structure or a giant rock. The topography isn't an exact match either.

>A website that tracks mining claims, places 4 potential entrances within a few hundred yards, but not at the particular location that E Zed indicated.

> There is also a second hook in the road on the other side, but it doesn't exactly match the description either.

If OP wasn't 100% accurate in his recollection, I would argue this would be a good place to start. The Northern location has proved much harder to locate, which will be addressed in the next post.

Bring a buffalo gun and a camera with you. Spooks really hate cameras for some reason, seeing as how they've never been captured on one.

If you are attacked, be it by a spook or not, a buffalo gun will always prove itself indispensable.

In other news, I've devised a way in which to defeat a supernatural creature of almost any sort. The answer is drugs and a lack of clothes. A good number of these alleged beings seem to depend on fright, and what's a better way to combat fright than taking 10mgs of oxycodone? Pain suppression is an added benefit to that as well. Then you have the matter if whether these creatures are sapient, generally upwardly intelligent or similar; if they are, being stark naked and high will certainly catch them off guard, and seeing as how armor or clothes does very little at warding off whatever sort of attacks they have, such things matter little and you're better off taking the gamble of being naked. Provided that it isn't extremely cold, striping naked can only provide benefit. The flaw with this idea is that oxycodone takes a half hour to kick in, and thus I would recommend something like a very high dosage of xanax in lieu if you are caught unawares. Two benefits that oxycodone doesn't have: nearly instant effect, and at high dosages, complete memory loss combined with extremely erratic behavior. Downside is a lack of higher mental facilities, but I can't see bumrushing a skinwalker requiring much of that. In fact, that might even be a positive in some scenarios, but I would recommend against having firearms within any manner of accessible distance in such a case; if you do fight off your attacker, you may be down a hand and bleed out. I suppose the decision depends on whether or not you're hunting them, or if you've found yourself out in the woods and being hunted. Regardless, what's a better way to go out than going apeshit attacking a spook while naked and high? Can guarantee you almost any afterlife will let you in with that.

Nevada anon here, went camping with some buddies out in this area probably close to a month ago now. Drove around on some trails, didn't find any old buildings like in thread pic.

Two spooky things happened, one of our guys saw something 'larger than a deer and black in color' run through some trees probably 50 yards away from our campfire. We walked around but didn't see anything. Later that night I couldn't sleep for a while, sometime past midnight I heard what sounded like a deer or cow (there was a cattle farm semi nearby) screaming, kind of yelled on an off for 20 odd minutes before getting quiet. May go back (live near Yerington) sometime soon to explore some other possible areas.

It already was.

A single mentally ill autist regardless of how many many guns, explosives and whatever else he owns, poses no threat to the government, and minimal threat to a BATFE team.

Who gives a shit if you can own some guns and plink cans in your back yard when actually attempting to form a militia to secure the free state ends up with your group being overran by feds will arrest each other for shooting you or just sieged like Waco and then you'll get called a hwite supremacist after you die.

The EMP would be the cyber attack. All electronics that aren't protected by things like Faraday cages or thick aluminum foil, which functions as a cheap Faraday cage, won't work, which is virtually every electronic device, and every hard drive that isn't protected by a Faraday cage would be completely wiped.

I thought everyone knew about this.

Basically the case is lengthened to stop the piston protruding into the barrel.

The issues were mainly related to power, the thickness of the casing has to be increased considerably to stop it deforming and jamming the action- as the case still has positive pressure after firing. The round also has to remain subsonic, so the overall energy on target I think was really low.

They were very nieche and were only made in limited numbers- but because of their unique utility were held onto by ex-soviet agencies and anyone else who got their hands on them before the fall of the USSR

Older models I believe had two O/U barrels but newer ones were magazine fed, however because of the niche application I imagine some operators preferred two reliable rounds in chamber in case of malfunction.

Newer models also had a telescoping piston that reduced overall case length.

I'm pretty sure post cold war everyone developed a version of these, what interest me more is the ones where a telescoping cartridge were hidden in an object, and if they ever developed specialty munitions

Alright /k/iggers

Whats the best bolt action rifle?

I see a lot talk about bolt actions as one of the perfect guns, and with reason too

Nugget, SMLE, Kar98, Remington, ArcticWarfare, CheyTac, etc

In you opinion, whats the best?

Also

If you could make the perfect bolt action, what would it be?

Would it have a fixed mag? If it had a mag, would it be a rock in, or a straight? Would it have a stripperclip guide, or would it not even need one? Would you have rails for optics & mall-ninja shit? Would it have a bayonet or would it have bayonet? You have no choice in having a bayonet or not

My opinion?

I don't really have one

I do really like bolt actions for how simple they are, so I don't like how most can't be taken down & totally stripped easily, no tools is the best in guns

I like the SMLE, I wish the stocks were longer though, fucking stubby brit arms, I know chickenwings were popular, but god damn, gimme an inch

I mean, in terms of accuracy and range, the M200 Intervention is probally the most accurate man-portable rifle in existence (if you consider a nearly 30lbs rifle unloaded "portable), with the proper loading and calculations

In terms of overall quality, really any mauser action rifle
