2 Eurofighters collided with one another during a training exercise over Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, both planes died with one of the Pilots recovered alive while the other didn't fly so good.

The wreckage caused a forest fire with authorities telling citizens not to approach any of the aircrafts' remains so you know what to do /k/.

What is the least gay current time European fighter aircraft and why is it the Rafale?

Our pencil pushers can do that too, we have been constantly underfunded since imperial times. Don't forget that we had to resort to re-using the uniforms and shoes of our dead in WWI because we couldn't afford new ones.

Does anyone have any insight on how China and Vietnam size up to each other militarily? Just looking online I found

>China has 2,035,000 active military personnel (510,000 reserve)

>Vietnam has 482,000 active military personnel (5,000,000 reserve)

I've also heard people claim the Chinese Coast Guard alone could successfully take on Vietnam's Navy, and I'd assume the PLAN is leagues ahead of Vietnam in terms of Naval power. Just how would a conflict between China and Vietnam play out? How further ahead is China in terms of military technology? Does Vietnam get any support from the US nowadays?

Here's my take. Vietnam's survival depends on if the fuckers

1) Want to fight a gorilla war on the level of Afghanistan

2) Some other country closes the straights of Malaca or Hormuz.

This is because the chinese have TWO FUCKING weeks of Oil reserves for their military. THREE DAYS of oil for the entire economy. The PLA isn't the suicidal fanatics that just finished fighting the war with Japan, Korea, and under mao's orders fought the Indians in 64' while carving out a road of blood through tibet with no heavy equipment paid for in blood (5-10 bodies per km or 0.6 miles) and literally used sheep to transport logistics My great grandfather was on that trip….Then he saw the horrors known as the cultural revolution/GLF and came anti-commie. The current chinese army is more of a force dedicated to quelling internal decent and the eventual showdown with Russia/India filled with political transplants that make US muh tranny/wymn soldiers look good. The only thing keeping them relatively in line is the threat of execution. In addition, a motorized/mechanized force is not going to do well in the jungle. We all know what happened last time the US came to vietnam.

It's one or the other buddy, at least if you are aiming on hurting people rather than trees. Nobody is gonna let you swing a fucking sword at them and not dodge that shit, and minimal amounts of heavy clothing interrupts stabbing with such a wide blade. If you absolutely have to go larger I would recommend a machete and not a knife.

Defying China, U.S. to sell new tanks, anti-aircraft missiles to Taiwan in $2B deal

By Carlo Muñoz - The Washington Times - Friday, June 7, 2019

>In a deal that has drawn the anger of mainland China, Taiwan has signed a multibillion-dollar weapons deal with the Trump administration for hundreds of new tanks, rockets and surface-to-air missiles, defense officials in Taipei confirmed this week.

>The Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense said the nation’s military will receive 100 M1A1 Abrams battle tanks, 1,240 BGM-71 TOW anti-tank missiles, 409 FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank missiles and 250 surface-to-air Stinger missiles in the estimated $2 billion arms package.

>The new Abrams tanks, built by U.S. weapons maker General Dynamics, will replace Taiwan’s aging American-made M60A3 battle tanks and the Taiwanese-manufactured M48H CM11 tank, defense officials in Taipei said. The publication Jane’s Defence first reported details of the arms deal.

>The deal falls in line with defense Taiwan Relation Act, which legally binds the United States to provide arms and material to support the Taiwanese military. The announcement also comes amid rising tensions between Taipei and Beijing.

>But Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said that China, which views Taiwan as a renegade province, firmly opposes the arms deal.

>“We urge the U.S. to fully understand the high sensitivity and serious harm of the issue of arms sales to Taiwan and abide by the one-China principle,” Mr. Geng told reporters in a Beijing briefing Thursday.

some good bits

>The people of Nanking panicked andfled not only because of the anticipated battle but also because they feared jianbi-qingye—a scorched-earth strategy that the Chinese troops were likely to conduct in the Nanking area.

>As these two men recollected after the war, however, the carnage they saw was the result of the actions of a Chinese supervisory unit, which shot their own soldiers to stop them from retreating, in addition the result of many soldiers being trampled to death when they tried to escape all at once from a narrow gate path. Also, quite a few soldiers were killed when they fell off the city walls during their attempt to descend from the top of the city walls with ropes.

>One of the photos printed on Mainichi“ Liu Qixiong, commander of theChinese 261st Brigade, of the 87thDivision, who became a POW at thebattle of Nanking.” Asahi-banshina-jihen gahō, no. 14, 1 January1938, p. 23. 33Graph: Nihon no senreki [Mainichi Graph: Japan’s Wars] showed wounded ChinesePOWs at a Japanese field hospital. The scene suggested that Japanese medics treatedChinese POWs very well.

>This photo was reprinted in Shinpen Sankō [Three-AllCampaign: Newly edited version], compiled by an association of ex-Japanese soldiers imprisoned at a CCP war criminal camp for “re-education” purposes. A problem of the reprinted photo is that it was modified from the original and a fabricated caption was attached: the sign reading “medical unit” on the building wall, visible on the original photograph was erased, and the new caption read, “Chinese POWs, whose leg was amputated to prevent their escape.”

Anyone into BP guns? They seem to be majorly overrated, but I honestly think they beat the guns of today in terms of just how medieval and badass some of them can be. Take for example the Treeby chain gun, which is a proto-machine gun that holds 14 shots and was invented in 1854.

Second up is the Lorenzoni repeating flintlock pistol, which was invented in 1660 that holds 7 shots.

Thirdly is the Puckle gun (everybody's personal favorite) which is a muzzle loading GATLING GUN invented in 1718.

And lastly is the Nock Volley Gun that was invented in 1789 which has 7 barrels that all pop off at the same time with a ridiculous recoil and that is smooth bore, typically used by the Navy on ships.

Any more?

Doable.

Expensive as fuck though. Priced the materials alone, nearly $80k. The tooling is easily 10x that. That's before you even get involved with the actual manufacturing and maintenance costs.

So figure a single suit about $1 billion. Close to a million a year to maintain it.

Training is ideal. The problem you’re discussing is more about recruitment and 10+ year, that’s technically 3 re-enlistments (standard) so, that leaves a lot of management at hand. It’s difficult to ask people to stay on if they want to honorary discharge, they did their service and commitment. So, that’s a big part of the reason the funding and RND in that direction is tailored to a smaller group.

If they have to deploy a anti tank rifle against infantry they already lost. within the close range combat of a town it may even be impossible to pull off safely. plus any country that can deploy powered armor will be using drones and other forms of threat tracking. the second there's a anti-materiel round going off it will be countered with trackingpoint equivalent auto sniping.

I'm not trying to derail this thread but I'm sick of people dismissing the STG44's influence on multiple service rifles from the early post-war era, particularly the AK. I get that its action is drastically, if not entirely, different from that of the rifles I believe to be its direct descendents but I don't think that matters. That is because I do not view the action, the caliber, or any of the most commonly cited "innovations" the STG is credited with introducing to the world of military small arms.

In my opinion, the true legacy of the STG44 lies in the construction of its receiver. One can point to at least one other rifle or carbine that had been accepted into service before the STG44 that included one of the supposedly "innovative" features. Intermediate cartridge? Dozens of examples. Select fire plus intermediate cartridge? M1/M3 Carbine. Gas operated piston action? Again, dozens of rifles. Mass production of a design intended to deliver large volumes of fire and issued in quantities intended to equip entire infantry units? The Soviets were on that first with their SMGs. That stamped receiver though? That was the key to making every other innovation possible.

Making a stamped receiver work for an SMG is easy, so easy in fact that literally everyone in WWII was doing so. Making a stamped receiver strong enough to handle the power of a near-rifle like cartridge though? That's so hard it took the Soviets over a decade to get it right and accepted into service despite that being a definitive feature of the AK design from the very start. If anything, the milled AKs prove that the basic design principles of the assault rifle had been technologically feasible but not economically viable. Only the Soviet Union could afford to go full retard and throw virtual slave labor and the weight of a controlled economy behind such am absurdly time intenaive manufacturing process. If not for the stolen German technology and engineers, they would have never been able to have the confidence that a design like the stamped AK would eventually be cheap enough to accept into service as the primary infantry rifle.

There's nothing wrong with being a purist, and I DO love me some H&K… but I just don't see why even bother paying an extra 1500 for a used HK91 when you can get a brand new PTR. PTR uses the same tooling and makes everything to exact spec, so minus the name, it's basically already as H&K as it gets. As far as I would recommend, use that extra cash to buy a comfy carrier from bulletproofme and mags/ammo.

jk lol

it's been 2 months since they've given an update, with still no ship dates or confirmation of completed rifles. Last time they crawled out of their hole and started posting again was because Commie Ian called them out and they had to damage control. Then they said they'd be reaching out to pre-orders to confirm FFL's, but they are still "waiting on parts".

Now it's 2 months later and not a peep.

But rest assured, it's coming Soon

>why does nobody make real repros

>why isn't the HMG STG44 a top quality repro

>why won't people make the stuff I like

To answer all three in one go, because everyone says they want it until someone actually tries making it - at which point everyone decides what they really wanted was another AR-15/Glock.

Price points for stuff like this never helps because very few people are actually willing to pay several thousand dollars for a gun from the '40s that isn't an original.

I want one… I am just not putting down money for vaporware. If I see some real proof that they are releasing soon or they give me some other incentive maybe. Otherwise. I will wait.

>why does nobody make real repros

They do, they're just banned in the US

>why isn't the HMG STG44 a top quality repro

Because HMG are a target company, and a shit one at that. They're retarded faggots, even their CETME-Ls were dogshit and never worked. It's not even a question of quality, their "repro" doesn't even look remotely like an StG. Many places, such as Copper Custom had to stop stocking all HMG products due to faults and lack of quality control that they were forced to take care of.

>why won't people make the stuff I like

Because American companies don't understand basic metallurgy outside of "muh sevenny-sevenyfave tee six aloominum"

Your little boy "weapons fixation" overcompensation technique isn't fooling anybody….

We all see right through you……

You were raised by your mother….

You never really had a true male role model

And that's why you don't know how men behave

You have a twisted video game sissy boy concept of masculine behavior… Your perception of machismo is based on imagery you've seen in video games…

Girls simply don't like you

They never have

And they never will

And since you're never going to get any pussy

Instead you'll pretend to be a badass

And talk about weapons

With other similarly failed

Lonely little boys

Trapped in the bodies of adult males

Who sit in image boards

And try to convince each other

That it's okay

To be a faggot
