Relaunch
/fur/ is currently undergoing a relaunch!
This is something of a soft relaunch, including a variety of changes in policy and organization. I decided it would be best to do this as a process rather than to work in private and present it all at once, so this thread will be used to cover and announce the current developments and progress along the way as the board transitions. Discussion will be handled separately.
You may have already noticed changes to the board's theme! If you haven't please go to the options and select "Board Specific CSS" from the themes. This is one part of the aesthetic and quality of life improvements to the board. I'm also working on some new board assets, but those will take some time.
The CSS source will be released after more testing.

Why are SFW furries non-existant?
No matter where I go every single furry community or site is all about porn. I used to be into that sort of thing but I quit all porn including furry porn around 2 years ago. Even the places that are SFW it's just softcore porn and you could tell the artist draws it. The character's ass is the main focus or they're in a suggestive pose but there's no genitals or anus.
Basically sites and communities are either explicit or questionable per e621 rating, where are all the rated S ones? Where's the e926 communities? Where's the people who love anthros like they used to back before their hormones took over? Where's a community where we can talk about furry media and share furry art that isn't just artists and fursonas? I don't even have a fursona, I just love anthros in media and always have. Am I just an endangered species? Someone looking for something niche in an already niche community?

First released in 1983 and created by Steve Gallacci, it is currently in hiatus
The main protagonist is Erma Felna, a young cat who is an officer of the Extraplanetary Defense Force (EDF).
The EDF is challenged by the Independent Lapine Republic (ILR) which is populated by a species of supremacist rabbits who favor taking colonies and settled areas by force.
So the comic follows Erma Felna as she is involved in this political conflit against her will.

e621 and FA are obvious ones, although I think "Do not post" thing is a load of bullshit, at least for free non-commissioned content promoted on other sites, plus I am still not a giant fan of the redesign.
For imageboards https://9chan.tw/furry/ is small but growing and decent for discussion right now. I still like to browse 4/trash/ more for the porn then the discussions. Fatchan is kill.

MFW I realize that no matter how well the entire base improves, no matter if someone Thanos-snapped their fingers and the anthro/furry base was purged and made into something acceptable or actually made some nice content, the bad reputation is there to stay forever, and will never be forgiven.

Have you wondered what it would be like to live in another world? Of course you have, most media is about escapism after all, but what is that like for you? Have you imagined your own world, or is there a particular world you're fond of or insert yourself into? What sort of scenarios do you imagine, or what do you use to get out of it in particular?
You don't have to stick to these discussion starters if you'd like as further discussion is allowed and encouraged.
For me, I am particularly fond of folklore and works similar to Beatrix Potter. A sort of comfy "old-timey", rustic, humdrum, hand-drawn personal sort of feel, as if it's always been there in a way or feeling familiar. Having a simplistic world, but creating more whimsical elements with the addition of animal people and more unknowns. It's particularly fun to imagine how animals would act like people, or in what ways they would act civilized but still be different animals, something I think not a lot of anthropomorphic media touches upon. Smaller anthropomorphic animals like Mice using scraps or discarded materials from bigger creatures is a concept I tend to find interesting or intriguing, I think it helps highlight what ways they are civilized while also displaying their scavenger or animalistic nature.
I am looking forward to seeing what other sorts of worlds you are interested in, or if you have any further examples or media similar to the types of worlds I enjoy to share.
