Hello all. You might not remember what the Holonet Wiki is, but I was one of the anons involved with the new SW wiki our board was working on a while back. For those of you who need a quick summary, a while back our wiki hit a rather major snag. I found a way to import a large amount of "Legends" wookieepedia content over to our wiki and thus save ourselves from a lot of work, the problem is that the import process could only be done by the owners of our wiki's domain. So I left for quite a spell in hopes of contacting Shoutwiki's staff (our domain owners) and finding some way to import the content. That feels like ages ago now…

So the end result is, I have some bad news gents. I've been trying to contact the staff of Shoutwiki and to find some way to get around the restrictions but have had no luck. Either Shoutwiki doesn't give a shit or its a dying domain. However, during my period of absence as I did my best to collect content from all Legends articles for importing (as well as any pre-2011 content) I've found several alternative wikis. I've long since given up hope on trying to make any progress with Shoutwiki, so to finally get this over with, I was hoping we could continue discussion on all wiki progress here and vote on what to do and which domain to move to.

For me it was having grown up with the idea that the OG Trilogy on https://streamingsites.com/ was all there was going to be. Sure… you’d hear fanboy rumors of more, but they were just rumors. Having the original released in theaters in the 90’s was a big deal. So after all this wait & hype the prequels just didn’t live up to it. I don’t want to hear about some “trade dispute” or “political infighting”. Let’s not forget those cringe worthy accents.

Monday 9pm GMT there will be a Movie Battles II server up for the /SW/ community. Chat, fight, capture objectives and duel on the "Best Star Wars game of all time!".

Movie Battles 2 is a free mod of the game; "Jedi knight: Jedi Academy". It can be downloaded at www.moviebattles.org, it requires a copy of Jedi Academy (JA) to play. You can use the steam version or GOG version of JA. It runs around £7 on steam, but if you can't afford that or simply don't want to give Disney your money the pirated GOG version works just as well (or so I'm told).

Monday 9pm MovieBattles II; /SW/'s server. See you there.

I don't know if we have enough on-screen information to say if the OT TIEs are "stripped-down" (a term which makes me think more of the Rebels' Y-Wings). That most models (with exceptions like Vader's personal craft) lack hyperdrives seems reasonable, given the comments about their being "short-range fighters" that can't get very far out into space on their own (and they're always shown operating alongside larger vessels like Star Destroyers or Death Stars, vs. Rebel fighters launching from hangars on the ground). However, it's worth noting that, generally speaking, the TIEs are very, VERY good in their intended role: as seen during the Battle of Yavin, they're individually capable of easily destroying any Rebel fighter, and so fast and maneuverable that getting one on your tail is basically a death-sentence unless you can get a wingman to pick him off (they also have more graphically-advanced targeting systems, suggesting that the level of tech they represent is newer or better than what the Rebels have access to).

Anon that posted on /film/ about making his own fantasy film.

I grew up with the EU, and a long time ago I had wanted to make a fan film where it was about an unnamed Jedi being hunted by Vader. It would be almost like the Predator, and would take place on a rain-soaked swampy/jungle planet (not Dagobah tier as a whole, but in certain areas. Mostly thinking South America type places). Vader would seem like this terrible monster, stalking and hunting these Jedi. He would do really insane, brutal killings; beheading Jedi, force blasting them into trees, etc. Similar to what Genndy did in his Clone Wars series with Asajj. The whole thing should essentially feel like Apocalypse Now's ending sequence, constantly, until the end, where we return to the nice sleek interiors of an Imperial Star Destroyer.

Quinlan Vos would eventually be involved as a Jedi living on the planet. He has a climactic battle with Vader, who does not hold back with Quinlan. Vos's death is ambiguous, though Vader eliminates several Jedi (his biggest killing spree yet), he feels that Vos is still out there. Because of this incident, any Jedi that did survive stay hidden out of fear of Vader.

But then TFA came out and I stopped reading or thinking about Star Wars for the most part.

As some of you may or may not know, 8chan is currently deep in controversy because of the recent mosque shooting in New Zealand, so there's a non-zero chance the site might get Zucced. It might turn out to be nothing for 8chan, but the risk exists.

So, we need to set up a bunker just in case. This is an issue I've discussed before in previous close calls, but I feel this time it warrants its own thread so everyone knows where to go in case of a shut down. Our main bunker will be our Cytube Channel:

The best idea would be for the BO to make a website or a blog and people go there to find the current bunker and than the final home.

It's slightly better, given that any datamining the site may be doing is limited to the posts you make and the usual ways a website can get info from you. Anyway, we're at least in theory far more anonymous than we'd be on that tencent-owned money pit.
