Memorial
I love terry and yet he never even knew my name or that I existed. Sure, we interacted a bunch of times over the years. but I was just a faceless name among the thousands that admired him, laughed at his crazy antics or shitposted in his chats for some kind of reaction.
I don't need to talk too much about his programming, those who get it get it. But Terry was more than a programmer. He was a biblical devotee and a composer. He produced works to glorify god with all of his humanity, creativity and skills. I urge you all to do the same. Terry's life goal was to create Gods 3rd temple here on earth. I believe he accomplished that with TempleOS.
This death was made much harder on us than it had to be. We collectively went through a 3 day period of denial. Somebody joked that he might be resurrected at the end. Instead of we got confirmation from a police officer that he was struck by a train.
But what I remember is having a friend. Listening to his stories about the MIT that just didn't get it boasting about their coredumps when they couldn't even implement a triangle fill. Attending his divinations, where he'd open the bible at a random page and read from it. Laughing with him as he sent bombastic threatening messages to the CIA email address. Or having my lunch with him through the computer screen, while he got cheeky and ordered extra bacon in some diner at the outskirts of the city in those first few days of being homeless.
I'll think about you a lot Terry. I'll keep talking to god and keep him entertained.
The Temple 64-Bit Operating System
TempleOS is an x86_64, multi-tasking, multi-cored, public domain, open source,
ring-0-only, single-address-map (identity-mapped), non-networked, PC operating
system for recreational programming. It's like paging is not used.
This is the problem solved: http://www.infiltec.com/j-h-wrld.htm

I have an announcement to make!
From 28th of June I am going to translate TempleOS fully into Romanian.
I don't know any programming, I am basically shit so I will fuck up many times, but it'll be nice.
I'll stream on BitWave (https://bitwave.tv/Fanin?sid=e3yoqe) because there the CIA niggers won't harm us (I hope)
See you there mes amis!
So I have an ultimatum: Bill Gates and the Illuminati got a herd of nigger cattle. WOOOO WE GOTT A HERD OF NIGGER CATTLE WE GOT A HERD OF NIGGER CATTLE. They got a big herd o nigger cattle. Yippie ki yay! we're nigger cattle herders we got a herd of nigger cattle, they are the most docile fucking nigger cattle we got 'em so docile we got this awesome big fucking herd of nigger cattle and they shit and they sit there and they watch TV and they shit ITS THE BEST FUCKIN HERD OF NIGGER CATTLE. GO! GO! GO! GO! YOU GOT THE NIGGER CATTLE you got a fuckin herd o nigger cattle, WOOOOOO we got em so docile, they just shit all day. innit that great?
VQC Thread 2.
Piss off to whoever deleted the last one. Terry would love to play with what we are building here. The Mandelbrot Set is the ultimate VQC, if you use it as an error corrective signal harmoniser, like the ultimate quantum fast Fourier transform or 'perfect resonator', you effectively have a means to rotate and control analog video signal. Get it right and you can play back frames that you don't have in the past. Master it and you have an 'Eye of the Beholder', which is the truest crime fighting device. No one's past is safe. Sounds crazy but with P=NP, all bets are off. You just plug several video feeds together and their harmonisation error corrects past frames, but you have to understand the Mandelbrot Sets properties to do so and this is only just beginning
>have revelation that St. Terry Davis was right the whole time

Well, to expand on Terry's ideas, the creation of digital temples is the best way to honour God. God, in this case, being the Grand Architect of the universe, rather than it's Compiler. God isn't the computer, he's the programmer and the Demiurge is his tool. In order to become like God you must create in the same way he did (The Principle of Correspondence). I hope this brings new life here, The Temple must stand strong in the face of heretics.
Schizo Cure
Hey Terry. I've suffered from Schizophrenia in the past. About +two years. Pic Related cured me. Chugged the whole bottle. I think its a shame that such a great programmer like yourself is plagued by schizophrenia so I thought I'd help you out.
Also its one of the worst diseases known to man and nobody should have to suffer from it. You're famous, so maybe your being cured could popularize this treatment. Godspeed.
Shrine 5.03 was just released, probably the last version for a while.
Comes with the latest TOS kernel and a bunch of bug fixes over the pre-releases.
https://github.com/minexew/Shrine/releases/tag/v503
Shrine is a spin-off by Terry fans (for noobs) meant to be more modern. It includes:
>Approachability: Shrine ships with Lambda Shell, a more traditional Unix-like command interpreter
>Connectivity: TCP/IP stack! Internet access!
>Software access: Shrine includes a package downloader
>Versatility: unlike stock TempleOS, Shrine requires only 64MB RAM, making it feasible for cloud micro-instances and similar setups (note: this is planned, but currently not true)
Note: Classic Temple OS is still the best and most up-to-date version. Shrine is not meant to replace Temple OS but allows people to play around with a little bit of extra complexity should they wish to do so.
TempleOS.org website
TempleOS site is down after the registration was renewed at 2019-03-16T21:36:59Z, according to a WHOIS lookup. The DNS entry for the domain pointed to 185.10.68.133, which is still hosting the site content.
Who controls the domain? Could we get the site back up?
AfterEgypt
Friends,
I recently installed the TempleOS.
I eagerly anticipated AfterEgypt, what seemed to be the greatest achievement of Davis besides the OS itself.
I could not for the life of me find it.
Has it been removed in the latest version? If so, is there anywhere to download an older version with AfterEgypt.
If not, how am I fucking up?

I made this video+tune for Terry, if you enjoy it please pass it along to fellow TempleHeads. I would also love to hear your thoughts.
There's a dropbox link in the video description for various versions and a pack of samples I used, in the spirit of keeping things open source.
(Not Terry) Holding down the fort
I have acquired this board to hold for Terry at this point as an unofficial and unannounced gatekeeper. I am not affiliated with him nor speak to him but I would return this if he requests it. Perhaps you all didn't provide what Terry was desiring to see out of this board or his interests went up higher to other things hence why things have grown stale here hmmm? Any questions or requests for me about the board specifically can be sent via email or on this thread. There will be a lot of cleaning up in time for July 4th. Look forward to it!
Good bye for now.

NEED HELP
I have an account in an office network where I get a few GB of storage space. I can choose any computer I like, however I must save everything on a drive called S: or everything gets lost the moment I log out. When I shut down and then reboot a computer it seems to take forever because it is deleting its OS and everything else on C: and then downloading Windows 7 from a central server. I want some programs to start automatically at certain times and when I log in but it deletes all scheduled tasks and everything I put into the autostart folder. Only legal advice please.
hey
i am a dude from Bucharest and i made a fb fanpage for Terry, as he had no social media presence (banned) and that made me sad.
feel free to like&share Terry here:
https://www.facebook.com/templeos/
at the moment the page is set up so anybody can post stuff on it so go wild… BUT no CIA niggers stuff please because i don't want to be banned. just call them CIANs.
Discover your inner Terry
Things haven't been working out for you lately, have they, anon? Work is just a daily grinder you feed yourself into, the stacies on Tinder don't even bother to laugh at you, and those fresh new ideas haven't been coming as quickly as they used to. This is not the life for you or me.
Which path will you walk?
I'm writing a Mega Man game for TempleOS.
Github repo is here: https://github.com/tramplersheikhs/megaman
I got some peanut butter, oatmeal, and that those will be both happy and sad about this team: how they felt, and all of my life. I played some series with the subject of intense speculation, since I did not tell you where the metal tables were outside the restaurant.
Temple fork
Hey, guys, I re-wrote Temple in Haskell, with (dependent) Holyskell in place of HolyC. It runs fucking great. Why? Because God is a Monad.
Briefer for plebs:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monad_(philosophy)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monad_(functional_programming)
I've been working on this for the past year, and haven't said anything about it because
1. Networking sucks and I don't give a shit what anyone has to say insofar as input about my transliteration of the word of God
2. The word of God speaks directly. And God told me exactly how and why to do this. I'd explain it, but it'd probably melt all of you to death like the ark of the covenant.
Anyway, I was trying to use Coq a year ago to generate proofs based off of Wittgenstein's Tractatus Logico-Philisophicus. At the same time, I was dicking around with Kaballah based programs using OCaml. Long story short, I ran into some type errors and then just gave them their own Satan type and then made them work - wound up writing a fork of Haskell that uses dependent types that depend on type errors, i.e. using Satans to define the functions of God. I like to call it Holy Algebra, because it seems like it shouldn't prove, but it does, in both Coq and Agda. What's great is that it's, like, confirmation that God is perfect even with the "errance" of Lucifer. And it compiles, and I fucking rewrote Temple in it. Sorry if this is Schismatic.
Anyway, here's the github link for it. Happy installing:

Might be a decent starting point for adding networking to TempleOS
Terry Davis, I'm CIA,
You don't get to bring friends into the Temple, why would I want them?
The plan I just filled with the Agency list me, the Antichrist, but not you.
First one to talk gets to stay in my Temple!
Who paid you to build TempleOS Terry?
Where is the agent that was MIA in 1999?
TempleOS keymap change
As a scandinavian, how do I change the temples keymap to something else? The system is rendered useless to me as I can't even do simple stuff because of wrong keymap.
Checked the site, but the supposed links to information about it werent linked at all, just plain text.
Terry, what do you think of hacker news?
Terry, I know you got shadow banned because they don't like the word nigger and ycombinator got taken over by SJW and fags.
But do you still visit when one of your videos gets posted?
Do you enjoy the arguments they get into about your supposed mental illness?
It seems to me that many of them can't deal with having a truly capable person who does not agree with their status quo.
some questions
Terry, do you believe that templeOS is the literal biblical third temple of prophecy? It's my understanding that the new temple of the holy spirit, as built by jesus, is the body of every believer. Also, I (politely) find it difficult to believe that God speaks through the program. I struggled with the question of how God influences our world in a (mostly) deterministic universe and I also came to the possible conclusion that the supernatural world and and natural one exchange information at the places where we can see no other possible source of the information. However, isn't that just a safer version of the 'God of the gaps' theory? Also, if there is intelligent meaning in the numbers that come from the Oracle, would statistical analysis show that the numbers represent more than just an even distribution that we'd expect from random numbers? If information is being communicated, shouldn't it be discernable from gibberish even if we don't know exactly what it says? I don't mean to attack you or your project, but I don't believe in the Oracle and I especially dont believe that you have constructed the third temple of Jewish prophecy, which would cross into false prophet territory.
Pic related is the prophet Elijah to whom God spoke without need of a machine
Got the next 6 weeks off of work so I've resolved to get back into programming with Temple OS since it's self contained and distraction-free (not talking about the interface of course but the lack of internet access and games that eat up a lot of time). I'm not too rusty, I only had to give up programming for 3 weeks, but I don't have very much experience with C. First thing I've decided to work on is a simple puzzle game to familiarize myself with the API and get back into C-type languages in general. It doesn't really do anything now but I've only been on it for a couple of days now and I'll try to post progress daily. The interface will look better too, it's just going to be the last thing I focus on.
Can/will TempleOS be ported to ARM? x86(_64) isn't going anywhere that soon, but it's future looks grim. Everyone is adopting ARM, and since Windows 10 and Metro applications will work cross-platform, that will make replacing x86 with ARM no problem for the desktop, which will make companies more inclined to do so. Even AMD is getting into ARM chips for servers. I don't want God's temple to sink with x86.
I haven't seen the source code for TempleOS, but I'd imagine it would largely need to be rewritten, as well as having the ARM version be entirely separate, since having one version support both would add extra code. What do you think Terry? Is this a concern at all for you?
Terry, do you only use RedSea instead of FAT because you're afraid of a lawsuit?
I'm pretty sure there's no chance of that happening if you just don't sell TempleOS. There's tons of open-source projects that use FAT and they've never had a problem because of it, namely FreeDOS and ReactOS (ReactOS especially, they're super anal about legal stuff). Linux also has drivers for it, that's never had a problem either. I'm pretty sure that whole lawsuit thing was because a company was selling a product with FAT in it, without a license.
Even then, have you ever just thought of making a new type of filesystem that's less restricted than RedSea? The flat filesystem design sounds very debilitating, if I can be so bold.
3D Printing
Terry I just ran across you work you did on a 3D printing / CNC machine.
Care to give us a little history about how that came about and what happened to the project.
You were certainly ahead of your time having worked on desktop 3D printer / CNC machine in 2003. Desktop 3d printing didn't really get started until 2007 with the RepRap Darwin.
TempleOS in QEMU
Hey, Terry. Does TempleOS run in any other virtual machines besides VMWare? I want to use QEMU, but it hangs up at this screen. Is there a way to make output more verbose so I can find out what the problem is?
Actually, just found out: it works fine when using only one core. Also, your OS doesn't really let the CPU idle, does it? My laptop fan is spinning permanently (although not too bad) when TempleOS is running.
Temple OS on MMIX
Hi Terry,
Thank you to have build Temple-OS.
Why did you build Temple OS on a Commodore 64 and not on MMIX machine written by Donald E. Knuth ?
Don wrote this in one of his book :
"Write a book about operating systems, which includes a complete design of an NNIX kernel for the MMIX architecture.''
Why didn't you make it ?
Bye
Happy Easter!
Hi Terry,God talks!
You can talk with God on Twitter, at http://twitter.com/temple_os.Bayes
Hello Terry. Thanks for building the Temple. Do you know Bayes' Theorem?Holy C
Hey Terry. I'm very interested in your compiler and holy C. It seems like a really nice language and definitely has VERY nice assembly support. I'v always wanted to learn about OS development and C99 does not have good support for things like that. Have you ever thought of doing a series of videos explaining the basics of your compiler and how one would go about implementing it? Would you consider making a binary for larger OSs (Windows/Linux?).Cain/Abel International Miracle Competition

Whither, 'midst falling dew,Emacs
What do you think about Emacs, Terry? A video in which you showed how the command line and file editing in TempleOS were handled by the same editor reminded me of Emacs, which gives you the same kind of flexibility, although it doesn't go quite as far. Was Emacs an inspiration for your editor?
