I wrote compiler, editor, debugger and kernel.

The debugger gives stack traces.

The "E()" function opens the editor on an address.

There are MAP files for Kernel.BIN and Compiler.BIN that provide source line numbers. JIT code maintains source line numbers in memory.

TempleOS is not text mode. It is 640x480 16 color VGA mode.

I made a text layer and graphics get drawn on top.

The editor handles graphics sprites. The command-line handles graphics.
