I'm trying to compile the best 40 cars of Gran Turismo 6 (roughly in order of performance) before the servers for the game go down in March. The 40 cars will be arranged in such a way that you can beat the entire game using just those, because they're at various PP categories.

Rules for the list:

>No prize cars

>No dirty DLC cars or their equivalents

>No General Motors cars

>Avoid Autosport cars

>Extra points if they were available in original GT1/GT2 games

>Extra points if they're affordable (for when log-in bonuses and seasonals die)

The list so far:

>01. Honda Beat '92

>02. Mini Cooper '98

>03. Triumph Spitfire '74

>04. Mazda MX-5 '89

>05. Toyota 86 Racing '13

>06. Audi TT 1.8T Quattro '00

>07. Renault Megane RS '08

>08. Toyota MR-2 GTS '97

>09. Tommy Kaira ZZ-S '00

>10. Subaru Impreza Sport Wagon '99

>11. Subaru Impreza Rally Car '98

>12. RUF RGT '00

>13. Mazda Falken RX-7 '

>14. Amuse Honda S2000 '00

>15. Audi S4 '98

>16. Mitsubishi 3000GT '98

>17. Honda NSX Type-R '92

>18. Gran Turismo Racing Kart Shifter 125

>19. Caterham Lotus 7 '

>20. TVR Griffith 500 '

>21. Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R '95

>22. Nissan GT-R Black Edition '13

>23. Lamborghini Diablo '98

>24. NASCAR No.18 M&Ms Toyota Camry '13

OP is still here

Had to put the Honda beat, the MR2 and the 787B on the pyre because Autosport has them now. I want to avoid cars from that game and also avoid cars used as DLC or pre-order bonuses. Also cars that aren't in an unpatched copy. Strictly the pinnacle of this base game. I'm thinking about chopping the list down to 25 too, but then I'm worried cars I like are gonna fall off. It'd be all racing cars then most likely. I'm trying to keep the list somewhat cheap too because seasonal events aren't a thing any more. It's going to take a lot of fettling to get it where I want it.

Here are some of the cars I'm yet to check:

>Acura NSX 1991

>Honda NSX Type R 1992

>Honda HS-V

>Some sort of Integra

>BMW 507 1957

>Jaguar XJ220

>Lancia Stratos

>Lexus LFA

>Lotus Esprit V8 GT

>Mitsubishi FTO

>Mitsubishi Galant GTO 1970

>Chevrolet Corvette the racing model one from the 60's

>Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III

>Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV Rally Car

>Mazda RX500 1970

>Mazda Furai Concept

>A modern RX7 (this what you meant by FC?)

>Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale

>Pagani Zonda 12C

>Toyota GT-One Race Car

>Bentley Speed 8 Race Car

>Lamborghini NOMAD Diablo GT Car

>McLaren F1 - BMW Racing Model

>Nissan R89C Race Car

>Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car (seem to recall this doesn't handle well)

>BMW V12 LMRPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

FC is the wedge and the FD is the newer one.

Dunno about the handling of the R390 but I do know that it was proper fucked on the track IRL. Had many technical problems. Shouldn't matter at all for a video game.

You can do some gearbox magic to get it to a decent speed, but you'll need to hone your driving skills to get around turns while maintaining as much speed as you can, you have to play slightly differently with that one. But if the 500 is still not enough get the classic Mini, you can make it fast enough to go below 8 minutes on the Bürgerking.

So I'm going to be in the market for a second car soon. I want something I can have fun in, but still carry passengers and drive across the country in. 2 seaters maaaybe (I've been looking at some 90s MR2s) but preferably at least 4. I am a very big fan of long distance driving, but I want to actually do it in a fun/nice car for once.

I second the VW option, you can get some nice sporty cars in their range and they always feel and drive like they cost twice their actual price.

I drive a Golf mk5 R32 which I picked up for 10 000 dollarydoos with the DSG gearbox (manual was quite rare and cost 5 grand more). Most people don't know about them and don't know that VW made an entire range of R cars BEFORE the modern Golf Rs. It's 4 wheel drive, has a 3.2 litre VR6 and the best sound an engine can make. No exceptions.

idk how much they are in burger land, I'm pretty sure they only sold a limited run, but worth a look anyway

I would sleep in my jeep during finals week, but it's easy mode when you go to uni. parking garages are patrolled by mall cops, plenty of food on campus, go the the uni gym for showers. some buildings would be open 24/7 so always had a bathroom etc.

This summer I'll have a little saved up and I plan on dirtbagging my way through Utah/Arizona/Colorado up to Montana. I'll probably stay on public land and basically go motorcamping. Some tips

>reflectix+black fabric window covers

>electric fan

>cooler w/ bubble wrap/extra insulation

>power inverter for laptop/electronics

>shovel in case of getting stuck

I prefer the sleeper/stealth camper look. I like to keep it as low profile as possible to minimize the risk of attention from unwanted faggots. Not really so much of a problem when you're boondocking, but in case of emergency if you're stuck in a city or whatever, it's best not to put out the "I'm a poor homeless weirdo living in a van" vibe

Fam we got 250 collections and only like 70 or so were pure remixes. There’s enough eurobeat out there for decades of listening. Who knows, they might just start a new line of SEB collections or something. The label might be replaced with a new one that keeps Eurobeat going. Don’t worry about it baby.

I know it's not the end of eurobeat, but it sure is an end of an era.

There's approximately 1000 or so actual good tracks total out of all the SEB ones.

While that doesn't sound like a small amount, that's like 4 days worth of constant listening, if you didn't sleep.

Not to mentioned SEB started sucking towards the end, which means new eurobeat isn't going to be as good as old bangers like Save Me, or Love & Money.

I think the decline started sometime 10 years ago.

No, actually. They're doing something much worse; trying to standardize smartphone-start ignition.

>Family's been dealer surfing for a while

>We try out a Hyundai

>No push-start or keyhole

>Huh?

>Requires a phone app to start.

>What the fuck? Smartphones are the new windows in terms of computer security, this shit is basically adding a gaping hole to an already leaky bucket!

<"Well, that's how it's gonna be, anon. That's what the dealer says."

>ford is another company that's pushing this bullshit.

It burns me that half the marketing ploys of technology today is "stuff a computer with outsourced firmware into this thing, and call it the next best thing since silicon wafers".

Doesn't matter; more for the scrapheap for when their planned obsolescence runs its course. Driver's cars will be coming back sooner or later. 2030 at the latest, when everyone starts building exclusively electric that almost no-one will buy.

Depends. On one hand you have the Corvette, Mustang and Viper, and on the other you have the F40, 911 and RX-7. I'm pretty sure no-one would argue that the latter three would be any more iconic with a name.

Any name (or number) will do as long as it's not some faggot shit like "T-Roc"/"T-Cross"/"Grandland X"/"XT-Gay!" that only a middle-aged woman or a stupid chink would like.

I've also noticed that stupid gay cars carry equally stupid and gay names.

I have to disagree. The RX-7 isn't so famous among the layman and I believe some of that inferiority comes from it´s bland name. Same goes for the 911 and F40: if you don't say beforehand that it's either a Porsche or a Ferrari, most laymen would look at you wondering what you meant.

On the other hand, if you say "Corvette" or "Alpine" to some lost kid he'll know what you mean.

Aren't you furious about that new trend of designers?

That fucking trend which makes car designers make flat wheel arch on the side of the car and break the whole car flow altogether?

Well I fucking am. Fuck that shit. Make wheel arches great again like the Challenger does. There might be others cars having good designs regarding this situation, but for affordable cars, this is the only one I can think about.

Discuss and convince me this isn't an issue, because it pisses me off.

Well, before I could walk, I had a wrench in my hand

I was my Mama's little angel and my Daddy's second chance

He went end over end the first year he went pro

And he lost part of his eyesight, so he couldn't race no more

But he never lost his touch when he got underneath the hood

He knew how to make them run and he knew one day he would

See his name in victory lane and engraved on that cup

Just like all them other crazy fools with racing in their blood

He would put me on his lap when he'd drive and I'd take the wheel

He'd say "What do you think about that son? How does she feel?

You just wait till them little legs get long enough to reach the gas

Once you put her on the floor one time there ain't no turning back"

Every Saturday, he'd take me out to the garage

He'd take an empty bucket and fill it full of engine parts

He's sit me down and pour em out in front of me on the floor

I'd have to tell him what each one was and what each one was for

We'd jump in his old car and go down to the race that night

He'd tell me what each driver was doing wrong and what each one did right

He could always pick the winner before they ever took a curve

#3 might have the car but 43 has got the nerve

But before I turned 18, Daddy said "Now pretty soon

You'll be old enough to race but I'll leave it up to you

I taught you all about it, taught you everything I know

You gotta have a car to do it and you gotta work and buy your own"

The first one I bought was a Mustang #2

Nobody kept 'em any longer than they kept a pair of shoes

Where would one learn skills to revive dead cars?

Is it possible to bring even scrap heap finds to working order with just your own skills and tools? Or is a car dead forever once it passes a certain point like for example a rusty chassis?

Pic is just for illustrative purposes, I don't think it's possible to revive that one at all, rip R5 Turbo…

CAD and 3D printing. No, really. That shit will revolutionize the restoration market by offering 99% accurate parts at a cheap price and immediate/ready availability. I've already seen small parts such as hubcaps and rear nameplates casted brand new for when the cars in question got too rare to source a replacement for, and when the technology improves we'll probably see more significant parts.

I doubt the technology will evolve beyond the practical point that it is in right now, and there is a small amount of parts you can replace with 3D printed ones.

Hubcaps, nameplates, light housings maybe.

Maybe even grills for some cars.

But anything that's part of the motor? Maybe individual components.
