So ford is supposed to stop production on cars due to poor sales in comparison to trucks, SUV's, and crossovers.

One one hand signs are pointing to this making sense to bean counters. On the other hand, who the fuck thinks not selling ANY cars outside of the Mustang (and some probably shitty hybrid focus)?

Discuss.

To become a capable driver you must enter into a kind of zen-like state where you drive the vehicle itself by pure instinct, while you do two other things separately and simultaneously with your eyes and perception abilities.

A) you look well down the roadway where you'll be in 10 or more seconds.

B) you stay intimately alert to all the immediate kinetic dynamics happening at the moment in your immediate vicinity.

It's actually rather a higher-abstraction state of affairs which explains why typically only men can do it well.

Pedalwork funsies

Learn to rev match on downshift, you should be able to lift the clutch instantly and the car will not unsettle

The learn heel and toe

By this point clutchless gearchanges should be in your grasp (not that this skill is actually useful outside of clutch failure style breakdowns)

Left foot braking is a fun one, you can corner faster/tighten your line when otherwise being on the edge of grip, for a given cornerins speed. Also a useful trick to keep the turboed cars making boost so you dont have to deal with lag. Youll need to feed in more throttle to compensate for the added brake pressure, obviously.

The drifters are good at left foot braking, this was how i learned..

Talking of drifting, clutch kicks for mad hooliganism are always a lol

And if youre a sadist, get a manual with foot ebrake and experience new levels of tapdance

Every other board gets one, so we might as well have an unpopular opinions thread of our own. Some of the ones I have

>I don't understand the appeal of cars/engines that have a "peaky power band" or setups with lots of turbo lag. Why the hell would you want to WAIT until you have gone through 70% of your revs before you get any significant power?

>I think twin charging, when done right, is currently the best way to gain more power out of an engine and that it should be utilized more. twin charging>twin turbo>supercharging>NA>one small turbo>shit>one giant turbo with massive turbo lag. Also, it has dat amazing sound when done right (embed related)

>AWD>RWD, though FWD is still my least favorite and my favorite car is still RWD oddly enough

>the only Ferrari cars I like are the 312t and F40

>my favorite engine configuration is V10

>Despite what I have seen others claim, both inside and outside /o/, the absolute biggest "poser sports car" is the Toyota Celica (and Scion tc since they're basically the same car) with an automatic transmission. At least Civic-fags actually mod their cars even if most of the mods are only aesthetic, and mustangs are still RWD

>even though I'm usually a massive classics-fag when it comes to cars, I unironically think that Lambo has been better during the last 10 years or so than they have at any other point in their history

>I'm not a fan of the Camaro inb4 "muh turd-gens"

>My second favorite car manufacturer is that one that the board owner put a filter on because he's a faggot. Yes they are retarded a lot of the time, but at least they haven't started half-assing the auto enthusiast market like other companies have *cough* Mitsubishi *cough*. The Dart is my dream DD

>LS swaps are supremely overdone, especially on small japanese sports cars. If you want a Corvette C5, then buy a fucking Corvette C5! Please leave the RX7/8, 240sx and 300zx alone, as its already hard enough finding ones with original engines that still work and haven't been fucked with.

Some of the diesel engines in EU are insanely good and have a lot of power for their size. There's 1.0 Ecoboost shitbox engines that produce over 130hp. It actually makes diesel shitboxes more fun to drive in city and even country roads and you tend to get the benefits of having a cheapass car to run Merkel naturally wants to put an end to all this and spoil it for the rest of EU

Hi /o/ to generate discussion I propose a question that's been on my mind for a bit.

What's the appeal of car share programs? Or self driving cars? Why do people seem determined to give up their freedom of movement granted by owning a car and being able to drive?

Now, I do get some of it being related to cost, just buying, insuring, and maintaining is expensive, only buying a house will be a bigger expense. And if you're in, or close, to a major metropolis then space is a premium (and often sold at a similar price). So parking or having your own spot to work on your car can be a hassle. And also Normies are fucking retarded, I get that too.

But who would want to drive a literal rental car everyday (cause even if you're retarded you know how those get treated). But even you can at least decide where you want to go, how to get there and so forth. Then there's finally the supposed "revolution" of self driving cars. If you're so uninterested in driving at that point why even bother owning a car?

IDK, maybe it's just me completely misunderstanding how these things work and how they're used. But outside of stupid congested areas where you can walk to places instead (which is where I mostly see these things and they kinda make sense) they don't make sense to me. It seems more like a tourist thing but a tourist has to be able to GET to the places and would make better plans using existing public transport.

Anyways TL;DR What are /o/'s thoughts on Car Share?

Are you retarded? Other then turbocharger failure, hydrocarbon aspiration is the cause for diesel runaway conditions. If a diesel aspirates a propane air mix, you can bet your ass that it will runaway.

And even if it is perfectly safe,

>it produces only about half the power of gasoline

>Utter irredeemable trash. Enjoy your 50 hp vehicle.

But that's the point of gas systems. To let you run your car in the cheapest way possible. Gas is cheap, produces no soot in the engine, makes little power so the engine moving parts are ran in extra long-lasting mode and one 70L tank of gas gets you further than one 70L tank of gasoline.

Diesels beat gas in both power and distance driven per liter, but are considered a bitch to maintain and

DIESELS ARE FOR TRACTORS AND TRUCKS REEEEEEEEEE

> but are considered a bitch to maintain

Because of tolerances.

Gasoline engines can have bigger gaps because the pressure they work on, while still being important, it's not as high as in a diesel and the leaks are less severe. The diesel has to be airtight, because it uses the heat from the pressure to ignite the fuel, other than that.

Apart from that, unless you still have an indirect combustion chamber, the timing can wreck your shit, the valves can hit the piston head fucking up everything in the process, less performance oriented gasoline engines might be able to snap the timing belt without hitting the valves. I wouldn't try experimenting it unless you are 100% sure that the valves and the pistons don't share the same space

And then, there's all the soot clogging your shit, specially clogging the intake valve thanks to the brilliant genius that decided to recirculate exhaust gases into the combustion chamber.

It's bugs wanting all of their needs taken care of for them by other people. They have no sense of ownership. Ownership means having to pay for and maintain something. Having to either be prideful or ashamed of your vehicle.

That means personal accountability. We can't have that in a leftist paradise, now can we?

On the other hand, we as people are extremely keen to give in to what's easiest, rather than what's best. This is just the market providing for our laziness and complacency regarding our own urges.

That Audi doesn't look bad, but its Audi so its trash. The Corolla looks like a slightly more stylish Ford Focus with an uglier interior Everything else is disgusting, especially the Altima which Nissan has somehow made look the same for the last 10 years but gets worse and worse.

Subaru had commercials that catered to both fags and normal people. In one they had two men that could have been father and son or fudge smashers. They were ambiguous enough for either audience.

>modern car design

Back in highschool I wanted to be a car designer. Now I'm realizing how much of a bullet I was dodging. I would have to be subordinate to lead designers that put out cucked shit like this. I'm still a poor mechanic though, h-haha Sam was right when he said modern cars are pretty much designed to turn you into a cuckold. You can feel it when you're in modern cars. Something is just missing, something exciting - fun, sexy. It's all gay soccermom-friendly shit now.

I only work on my bike regularly, since I'm in the apartment parking lot. When the car needs something major, I go up the mountain to use my father's Craftsman collection. Otherwise the shop down the street handles oil changes.

Was looking around for a torrent and found this on youtube. Funimation also has Second Stage on their channel, but nothing later than that. Here's the playlist for First Stage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVG7zusJ1t8&list=ELLBPz0QR3ebI

Third, Fifth and Final Stages are readily available on nyaa, but I can't find Fourth Stage anywhere. If anyone has it or knows where to find it, please post it.

I also came across an "Initial D Legend" trilogy, never heard of it but it looks like it was released last year? Also available on nyaa.

Also, here is the complete manga that an anon posted a while ago: https://mega.nz/#F!cQUFHJJa!MFUJaCq-RJ1ry1EAUGOU5w

Related by a little but someone on kikebook who's allegedly friends with a few famous eurobeat producers and vocalists claimed that Super Eurobeat vol. 250 will be "the last" release, coming in "early" 2018. Please take this with a grain of salt unless there is an official announcement in Japanese. Sauce: http://forum.eurobeat-prime.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3860
