>tfw bought babby's first tool set
When did you buy your first tool kit? Preferred brand? And what sorts of things do you refuse to do yourself on your car?
For me, only think I won't work on is the AC system on my 3rd gen MX-5.

Electronics and computer. Fucking 90s Mazda and their OBD1 with no software to be found on internet. I lurked.
ABS, airbag and TCS lights ahoy, good luck doing anything to it. The computer is complete shit, does not even detect engine temperature even after changing a new temp sensor. So it does not stat without diesel-worthy cranking in cold.
I just want this winter to be over, so i can roll out my Audi 80. Carbuerators w no computers > EFI w computer

First tool set was some 20 dollar Chinesium socket set from Ace Hardware. I changed a heater core with it.

That was actually the first thing I did on a car, it was my dad's '00 Civic, and I didn't put it back together super correctly, but he didn't get mad at me because it worked, and he was going to sell it.

The Miata being a chick car is far more of a retarded meme, famalam. Only insecure dudebro wannabes shy away from a car with great handling characteristics at an affordable price.

Last fall.

Chinesium. If it breaks, you're going too hard at it tbh
>And what sorts of things do you refuse to do yourself on your car?
Anything that will cost me a fortune to fix if I fuck it up, i.e. common rail, injectors, stuff like that.
Also technical inspection is strict where I'm from so any major modification (like new seats) has to be done by a professional if you don't want trouble with TüV.
Sometimes, I wish I lived in the US of A, in a non-pozzed state.

I think the FIAT 124 looks better and has mostly the same underlying characteristics without looking as girly.

It also has a worse engine, is longer, and is just a way to drive a miata for insecure faggots, so I guess we know where your priorities lie.

>124 looks better than Miata
Are you blind, or something? Also, the new Miata did away with all the rounded angles. It doesn't look "girly". Seriously, you just have shit taste. And enjoy your turbo lag.

It still looks girly because of the smile shaped grill is more happy faced than the fiat, the headlights more closely resemble human eyes whereas the fiat has more rectangular headlights. Also the running light eyelashes. It isn't as girly as some cars but compared to the 124 it looks more on the feminine side. And the NA miata engine isn't going anywhere fast despite the lack of turbo, you would have to do an engine swap and I don't know how much that costs.

The Fiat has 9 Hp more than the base model MX-5.
If you want any of these two to be muscle car fast, you'll need to swap the engine.

So? Are you that insecure?

If that was my only car I would still buy it, it's just that if I could afford room for another car I would choose the fiat unless there is a much better deal on the MX-5

I accrue tools as I encounter jobs. Mostly HF crap.
I only work on my bike regularly, since I'm in the apartment parking lot. When the car needs something major, I go up the mountain to use my father's Craftsman collection. Otherwise the shop down the street handles oil changes.
