Do you consider Mazda and Volvo luxury if they don't have a v6?

Luxury has nothing to do with engine. Also Mazda never was anything fancy to begin with. Volvo is general family comfort.

i wouldn't call mazda a luxury car brand, but the cx 9 is pretty damn luxurious. many volvos are classified as luxury cars.

>Mazda
>luxurious
wtf
Also I won't pay for an expensive ride with something less than a 6 cylinder engine, so in my book, luxury goes on par with the engine (Toyota Century V12 anyone?). But this isn't a broad definition and you could enjoy a luxurious Audi A1 with leather and whatnots with a 3 banger.

>Mazda
>Luxury
That being said, I like Mazda. They're just not luxury car makers.
>Volvo
>Bought out by chinks
>Some cars cost close to six digits in the fucking leaf
>Uses forklift tier 4 pots
Volvo is nothing but garbage.

Mazda is abandoning the zoom zoom for the ultimate leasing machine, they put more money towards luxury material than luxury engines. They make signature models, not speed models. I don't consider them luxury either but that is what they are trying to change their image to. It just isn't believable for me because even an economy car shouldn't struggle to pull its own weight but their CUVs are close to that. I also don't consider Volvo luxury for the same reason. Luxury shouldn't mean an engine chosen for economical reasons. The engine should be more than what is necessary, that is why it is considered a luxury.

What's luxury these days anyways? Back when cars without power windows were actually the norm, luxury meant something. But now, when even a shit tier Fiat 500 comes with heating, cooling and USB ports, luxury becomes a term in need of redefinition. If luxury means useless excess (rear seat entertainment system), then it's definitely the direction we're heading towards. Personally, I think Volvos, while looking quite nice, are overpriced for the engines you get. Mazda strikes be as a company where you'll get a similar amount of car (with the exception of interior finish and sound systems) for a much more reasonable amount of money.

It doesn't matter what you shove into them, Mazda is a shitbox, and Volvo is a slightly better built shitbox.

Luxury means good ride quality, sound insulation, and comforable massaging seats.

>massaging seats
this is infuriating and I wanna blow up the seats that have that mode. Same goes for heated/cooled seats but that's because I don't live in Siberia.

Lexus is Happy Meal bourgeoisie-tier shit, Toyota's real luxury line is made directly by Toyota.

the Crown is just OK-Lexus luxury. The Century though… That's real top-tier luxury. If they ever sell these outside Japan, they'd be Lexus though.
