making clothes
so i've been delving deep in to techwear and taking the merino wool pill but then realized how expensive all this fucking shit is. i want to completely throw out my old wardrobe full of killer cotton and shitty low grade material clothing out to a dumpster fire where it belogns.
the caveat is im broke so i decided to start making some of my own clothes and possibly hemming others.
started picking up a few tutorials and preparing.
anyone have any tips or just want to larp on making the perfect fit?
Reinventing Wardrobes
How would you go about cleaning out your entire wardrobe and replace it with /fa/ pieces? Right now everything I own are fast fashion, hand-me-downs, shitty christmas gifts, and very few decent pieces. Do I wait until Black Friday and start splurging? Donate all of the garbage I don't wait to "charity"?
My thought process so far is before aiming for aesthetics I should aim for getting decent basics. All of my shirts are either ratty or tacky, need to find a brand that has decent materials and good quality. Probably hunting for shirts in Uniqlo and/or merino shirts in Amazon since I'm pretty active on the day-to-day. On a slight tangent, I typically burn through 3-4 shirts just because of the sweat I release riding from place to place. If I can cut that number down to just one with a decent shirt that can wick away sweat I'd gladly pay over $50 for a shirt. As for things like pants, 80% of it is just shitty cotton jeans. From experience and learning online, cotton fucking sucks as a material. Should I go full polyester/nylon?

How the fuck do you grow a beard that doesn't look like literal pubic hair?
Obviously I'm not Sam Hyde so pic related isn't me, but we have similar beards.
I've found that oils, shampoos and conditioners are all only very temporary solutions. Beard oil especially, I find that it only works for maybe 2 hours.

Techwear worth it?
Thinking about going full techwear, thoughts? I like it because im pale and black looks good on me, the abundance of pockets is nice and the tech fabrics are nice since it adds variety in texture and utility. Like this jacket is ripstop nylon that's water resistant (but might as well be water proof since I use it as a raincoat sometimes).

Thoughts on this bag? I'm a bit iffy about the main body of the bag, but I appreciate the aesthetic of it. If the body was grey, I would like it to be canvas, but as it is brown, I would prefer it to be leather. I like it regardless, so I will get it. Need some ideas on club /fa/shion that will help me stand out (in a good way) from all the normies in the same button down shirt.

I'll graduate for my bachelor degree in industrial design soon, presenting my project in front of a commission. I really am not a formal person. Usually never wear shirts, do not own a suit, I wear only vans shoes, basic/bands t-shirt and skinny jeans.
What can I wear to be elegant but without feeling uncomfortably formal? (It will still be summer)

Hey /fa/, I'm really picky about what I wear because I don't like wearing things that make me look chubby or fat. I found these great shirts cheep and I love the way they fit and feel but since they are in camouflage they are more than a little unsuitable for alot of places.

No, techwear is expensive because you pay for the materials, that's the whole point of it. It requires a lot of R&D, expensive manufacturing, etc.
How to clean my fedora
So I've had my fedora for about 5 years now. The label is mostly sweated off, it says something I can't read then the next line is some percentage and polyester. (This is a $10 fedora i got at Walgreens)It was made in china and has some weird icons a bucket of water with either 30 or 80, a triangle with a v going through it, a trapezoid with a handle (an iron?) a p in a circle and a square with a circle in it.
Anyway over 5 years of wearing it's gotten dirty and febreeze isn't doing the trick of getting the sweaty odor out, so should I throw it in the washing machine or dishwasher in one of those hat cage things you use for baseball caps?
