Tiger camo makes you look weird and avoid the thermals. I'd generally avoid any non-military wear that's camo. If you wear camo, make sure it's either a field jacket or trousers. Make sure you don't wear anything with a US desert pattern on it unless it's a boonie hat.
A good utilitarian jacket would be the M70 Swiss Alpenflage jacket. It has pockets designed for AR-style mags and it has an internal suspension system for the 360 degree pocket coverage at the waist.
A more casual utilitarian look would be the East German rain camo field jacket.
If you want something that looks a little more fitted, I'd get ATF's Luftwaffe tropical jacket. It's better if they fit tighter than if they fit looser.

Like I said they size the jackets up to fit over the rest of the uniform. My M40 tunic and that jacket are both the same size but they label the winter jackets as smaller sizes so they can fit over all your stuff.

Vest jackets are nice for when you only need something light to stay warm. Unless it's very cold your extremities tend to stay warm if your torso is covered. They're also nice for when you need extra pockets, but don't want the bulk/warmth of a full jacket.
