>but what is techwear ?http://dressed-down.com/blog/2013/5/13/intro-to-techwear-part-1-the-bas
>is there a cheaper version of x ?No, techwear is expensive because you pay for the materials, that's the whole point of it. It requires a lot of R&D, expensive manufacturing, etc.

Don't mean to fuck your flow, OP, but personally, I really don't care for this sort of thing. I think natural and less-processed materials just look better, as they have greater depth of texture. Techwear tends to come off as too flat and/or shiny in my experience. I also feel like there's a general trend away from finding form through function and towards a separation of the two, i.e. since techmaterials are generally thin and flat, the form of the piece is chosen in isolation from the function. I feel that this renders the form of the piece meaningless. What are others' opinions on the matter?

But then I found this and it was pretty fucking cool. I'm starting to dig this style. I don't think I'm going to pursue it myself, but wow. Cool stuff out there. I notice that /fa/ is fond of monochrome… Gothninja for black, Lunacore for white and Techwear for grey. I'd like to think that this is some sort of conscious reconstruction of style. Maybe we'll get a two-tone style next.

>expensive
uh… as someone with basic knowledge of materials engineering… no.
a material may be more efficient, but you have to consider if it's significant, and if the cost is worth it. if you absolutely need a jacket that can resist, say, corrosive chemicals, go for it. otherwise it's just a way to rationalize spending tons of money on clothes. which by all means, you might like.
there are new materials that are not extremely expensive that do certain things better than conventional materials.

Haha, how could you have known I went to halfchan unless you were there too. Honestly I just wanted two opinions but halfchan was no help.
Thanks for the advice, thats really all I was asking for. When it comes to pants thats probably where I have the most confusion, as I generally just wear jeans, unless its formal and I need to wear a suit/khakis. Never worn joggers, I've always thought as sweatpants in general as workout clothes though upon googling some fleece joggers I definitely get where you are coming from. Know any good brands?

idk how the rest of /fa/ feels about GUESS as a brand but something like this, where I live there is jack shit for clothing stores so i shop at GUESS a decent amount they're kinda expensive for what they are but they look pretty decent
http://shop.guess.com/en/Catalog/View/M51Q52K3M70
If you want to be cheaper you could always buy the shoes throw them in a backpack and go out shopping looking for joggers that are cheaper and try on the shoes with the pants to make sure it looks good

pretty decent personally i would go with some slimmer joggers, and pull them up a little bit show off your ankles it'll look good for spring, shirt is pretty decent but i would honestly go with a blank white tee(i think the color might look a little out of place considering the rest of the fit is gray scale) also im not a fan of the backpack but im super picky about backpacks so if you like it then go for it
i googled the tee and it looks like that brand is sold at zumies honestly dude stay away from stores like that they're pretty shitty that tee is definately not worth like 30 bucks

Lol, I googled "joggers" which showed me the reddit guide to streetwear and went with what they recommended. I guess they are wrong as fuck, which isn't out of the ordinary for reddit I suppose. That's where I found the shirt.
The joggers pictured were just the first black ones that showed up on google because I figured I should have the joggers be black if the hoodie is black.
I think ultimately whatever joggers I get are just going to be whatever I find in person. I like the material and general look of the ones you posted but dropcrotch has this connotation of fuccboi for me for some reason.
What brands should I stay away from I guess? Other than the obvious black mannequin ones

stay away from skate shop shit it looks like you're in highschool.
I dont really have like good examples of what to stay away from but for like tees you shouldnt really buy from companies that charge like 30 bucks for a tee if its not absolutely the raddest fuckin shit you've ever seen, go for shit thats like 20 and under if you want blank tees american apparel is pretty good shits comfy made in murica and looks decent their tees are like 20-25 bucks I find with things other than denim its good to stay with brands that are reasonable prices, until you get to designer shit then if it looks dope and you can afford it get that shit
thats just the way i buy shit
lurk a whole lot more and you will just know whether or not something is decent by lookin at it

K, so just like a plain white tee under the hoodie should work? I'd probably going to have it unzipped most of the time because I'm somewhere where it can occaionally get chilly but not super cold.
Recently (before I decided to actually learn more about /fa/) I just got my shit from H&M's, is their stuff considered decent? I mean I just bought tshirts and shit, and its pretty cheap, plus I got a student discount.
I'm definitely not going to be buying designer on a student budget so I'll keep that in mind. I'm guessing decent joggers would be around $30 right?

with the joggers it's kinda hard to say they are popular as fuck right now so a lot of people are trying to cash in on that the cheap places will probably have cheap joggers medium priced places will have medium priced joggers and high price places will have expensive joggers
do some shoppin around this weekend if you have the money and report back
