No.2742
>>2636I feel like these styles are super feminine. SLP does its best to redefine femininity for men, and it only works if you have a slight, narrow frame. Kind of a "gay" look, IMO. unless you are actually the kind of guy that plays in a band and passes out in your leather pant and actually wears a vest with no shirt, you may want to steer clear of this style of boot to keep yourself from feeling style regret in two years time.
>>448Unless they are industrial riri zippers, boots with side zips look mad cheap and are usually made out of vinyl- even if they do say "genuine leather'
>>1168These are really tacky. The puffy ankle support paired with the zippers and the brouging. Just bad. Bad shape, leather looks cheap, etc.
>>1214Not a very good looking boot, but it looks well made and would probably age nicely if taken care of.
>>1343The seams along the top and front of the shoe have taken away the elegance that a Chelsea boot provides with its simplicity. This is just an ugly boot now.
>>1390These are boots a security guard would wear. Unless you're going for a 'ibkill cats and listen to cannibal corpse' look maybe stay away from these
>>2112I don't get how CP make one of the best looking sneakers around and their boots look like such shit. This looks like something Aldo would have done in 2010.
>>2572These are cool if you're Japanese and and trying to dress like a white kid from Charleston. Not so cool if the situation is reversed.
>>2740Gonna go ahead and state that visvims quality is not up to par with many other superior Japanese labels and shoe makers. Check out 'sak' boots and shoes and you'll see what I mean.

The soles dont look so overbearing in person. and the leather looks nicer after some wear. I've been wearing the same pair every day for over a year and the elastic panels are still going strong, which is what I was most concerned about when I made the purchase. Definitely comfortable, though I'm not sure if you can consider them good fashion. They aren't very sleek. Would get something better looking if you can afford to.

I'd like to a recommendation for solovair. I found them because I wanted a new pair of Docs, but as you probably know Doc Martin's quality has gone down the shitter and I wanted an actual boot not just a weak fashion piece.
I got the 11 eyelet derby cut and recently put my 1000th mile in them (1600km) and they've held up great. Make sure you polish them and keep good care of the leather, if you do it right they can go from hiking to looking classy with a good shine. I bought them because of an anons recommendation on here in September 2017 if you're reading this and remember thank you these were perfect Can post a pic of them brand new vs 1,000 miles if someone wants. Only problem is their dainty uk sizes would havw been tight on my American size 14 feet as thr largest they had were UK12s but emailed them and they were able to send me one in the right size. A really beautiful, fashionably and rugged littlr boot for only about $260 after shipping.

Advice? get fit and as i said buy first and foremost good basics.
Get a good pair of jeans that go well with a lot of tops and shoes, get those black leather boots, etc, basics don't have to be expensive to be good either
I'd tell you to be rather minimalist for now, once you know what you like and what looks good on you, then you can experiment, otherwise you're likely going to waste money on clothes you never wear.
Also be mindful of what other people wear and see what does and doesn't work, it's the kind of thing everyone does without really knowing, but you should be aware to take advantage of that.

there's nothing wrong with the brown ones even if you wear them often.
What you'll have to think is about the rest of your clothes, and if the brown or black boots would go well with them.

boots are versatile so you can wear what you want with them for the most part. one important rule is to match your belt and shoes. brown boots = brown belt, black boots = black belt. other than that it's mostly about matching colours and making sure your silhouette is balanced.

Berlin is actually basically the same latitude as I am, but Europe has those warming ocean currents and winds that I don't. But it depends I mean my family has had a ranch here for over 100 years and basically the entire area here is farmland. Western clothing is popular in small towns and rural areas, not so much in cities but it's not uncommon. Though I can't speak for the more populated provinces.

Well I guess I worded it wrong: rural culture (jamborees, hall gatherings, ect.) are mostly dead in my area. The clothing aspect has been coopted by urbanites and skanked up by the women and douched up by chads, who go to the local rodeo once a year. Not to sound like some western culture reactionary, because I don’t really care if people wear cowboy boots or something, just that rural communities are getting pretty old here, and that’s just my area I am in the most populated corridor of my province so it could be different in the other 80%.
>but it aint an effay look

It's the same story all over the world, i think it's just natural for some cultures to die like that, it is a shame in a way, but in another way people are just doing what they want to do, have the freedom to not follow tradition, so i can't be that mad about it.
Where i live people are rather nationalistic the leftist kind and the local government really pushes the language and local traditions, otherwise those would be dead by now.

If you are going to be wearing boots with any kind of camouflage uniform then they should be black, brown, tan, or maybe even green. Any other colour can't really be worn without it sticking out, its why its fine to wear OD green with patterns like Flecktarn, DPM, or woodland. See pic related for an example.
This obviously doesn't matter much for fashion, but it's something to consider if you are trying to emulate the military look without making a bit of a faux pas.
Anyway I need some serious advice on where to find a specific type of boot. Asked on /k/ originally but this is probably the better place.
I need a pair of good quality engineer boots like pic related, i'm intending to use these as everyday as regular footwear, but also want them to work as outdoor/walking boots. I currently live in the UK (specifically Wales), but also want them to be able to handle the cold scandinavian weather. I won't be using them in the tropics, so being to hot isn't that much of an issue
What I'm looking for (in order of importance):
>Available in the UK, I've had enouth of spending a small fortune on returning stuff that doesn't fit. I'm willing to take a cheap overnight bus to pretty much anywhere on the mainland to try them on before buying, and shipping/return costs are insane
>Black (polishable, no coated or shiny stuff)
>Just below knee height (or at least 12 inches, but ideals around 17 is ideal)
>Full grain leather
>Goodyear welted (Rubber?) sole, if i'm spending this much money on something I want to be able to replace the sole when it wears out
>No zipper, this has always been a weak point in every pair of boots I've owned, and would prefer not having to worry about it
>Buckles for adjustment and better fit (especially when using them for hiking as feet can swell up and need the extra room)
The one thing I don't think I need is a steel toe, so this isn't essential or a deal breaker if they happen to have them or not.
I'm willing to budge on one or two points if they're otherwise exactly what I need.
I got pic related from here way back in October https://www.jaminleather.com/Ad-Tec-Tall-Engineer-Boots-p/bm1443tw.htm
But the company didn't bother to read my measurements, and so sent me clown shoes. After spending £100 to send them back (and them acting like kikes with the refund, only just got Paypal to side with me this week), I really don't want to deal with them again. The boots were otherwise perfect however. The current model of Ride tecs now have zips, jammin are the only place with the old model in stock sadly.
I also tried these https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/sarma-biker-boots-black/57091
Now I absolutely love Varusteleka, their approach to products, ethics, and customer service have lead to me using them as an example of a model company in every respect.
But both size 42 and 41 wouldn't fit my feet, my heel would slip up and move around whereas the rest of my foot was pretty snugly in place. I think it's because they're made for norwegian/finnish feet or something like that?
I've sent these back and should be getting an easy refund as soon as they receive them.
Right now i'm planning on using a pair of horse riding boots with a zip as a stopgap measure since my current boots are falling apart, but the soles on them are all pretty thin, and I can't find any that are welted.
I've tried every store that sells footwear in the town centre of the capitol and my hometown with no luck. The costliest things have been shitty fashion boots that can't stand up to real use, and don't last longer than a year. No real leather, ect
I'm willing to spend £100-300 depending on how many of my criteria the boots fill.
These are the closest thing I've found in the UK so far, but they haven't imported any in my size (also attached for reference)

After many hours looking for what I want i've come to the conclusion that they either don't exist in the combination I want, or will cost me an insane amount in shipping back and forth so I think I've got a good compromise.
chelsea-style boots seam to be much more commonly available, especially in person so I should be able to find my size easily. But they actually seem to be available with thick welted soles as opposed to the paddock boots they look similar to.
As far as I can tell, I can just pair them with a pair of leather half chaps to get the length i need, but without having to worry about finding a long boot that fills all my requirements. I also guess they would dry faster and be more versatile if i need something less odd looking for formal stuff?
Timberland seam to have a good selection
https://www.timberland.co.uk/shop/en/tbl-uk/men-footwear-chelsea-boots#esp_cf=COLOR_FAMILY&esp_filter_COLOR_FAMILY=Black
Half chaps seam to be something I can actually buy online as long as the sizes are listed, and this way I don't have to compromise the boots with a zipper that will eventually break.
Is this a good idea or am I missing something?

I'm from the UK, not sure what the difference between a bonganon and a brit are?
I consider a good fit something that physically fits my feet/legs. I think i'm between sizes, like a 7.75 or something that doesn't exist, so any show that actually fits is great :s
What do you think is bad about the look exactly? To tight on the legs or something?
Larger, more rugged boots like pic related would be nice but the only source I've found here in the UK are german surplus that come with heel irons fitted, and an old style sole.
I ended up getting these
https://www.timberland.co.uk/shop/en/tbl-uk/men-footwear-chelsea-boots/stormbuck-chelsea-boot-for-men-in-black-5551r001#hero=0
Don't like how thin the sole is compared to the normal model, or how shiny the leather is
https://www.timberland.co.uk/shop/en/tbl-uk/timberland-icon-chelsea-for-men-in-black-a1m55015#hero=0
But the Stormbucks don't don't have that weak looking stitch on the sides, so should be easier to waterproof.

>don’t see why not
Because if the crotch of the pants is at your knees there needs to be extra material to allow your legs to be spread out, I’ve never worn them but the maximum distance between your legs obviously gets longer the further from your hips. If the crotch is at your dick then the pants need very little extra material because that point of your legs is never more then a few centimetre apart. While the distance between your knees while running can be like a metre, meaning those pants need to have an extra metre of material if the crotch is that low.

Looking for a pair made from black full grain leather, with a thick goodyear welted sole. I guess I've got a wise foot so something that's available with wider sizes would be great. Single layered construction with no lining or membrane is preferable.

Alright so I ended up getting these since I couldn't find chelsea boots of good enouth fit/quality. Ended up ordering a size 41 and 42, both fit, but ended up going with the 42 with thickish insoles.
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/sarma-ankle-boots/57143
I could of got these, but as the ankle boots are made to be worn with gators it seamed like the best choice. Also fuck having to relace them every time I put them back on
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/sarma-jump-boots/57144
The gaiters themselves took a few returns to get the right size but on the 3rd try I managed to get a pair that fit. They don't look as good with the laced boots as they would with laceless ones but it works. Going to have to wear them in more before i can wear them with thicker trousers, but summer is coming up anyway so there's plenty of time for that.
Also got a shorter pair of Swiss military gaiters, figure I could use them as my hiking gear, as I can't have my knee bent to much in the taller pair without them digging into the back of my knee.
>>10297
If you are unsure about them in general, then you might try getting a pair of army surplus boots to see how they feel. Otherwise the ones I talked about above seem to be pretty good so far. They aren't goodyear welted and they're top grain leather as opposed to full grain bu those seem to be the only downsides so far.
Check out their full selection to. The swedish or norwegian boots might be more your speed, at least if you live somewhere colder.

I've seen a few of the well known brands and they're definitely nice, but $250+ is too much for now. I actually like the look of Solovair and the English-made Docs, but I doubt they're practical for labor or hikes. Sizing also seems like a pain in the ass since everyone seems to say something different about how they fit.

Might consider getting one pair for work and another for hiking tbh. Not sure what you do for work but if it's something that will fuck the boots up then buying a cheap work brand might be the way to go, just make sure they fit well in any case.

I wear more or less the same thing every day, the shirt and hat are newish and new, used to wear these as my go to shirt
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/bw-field-shirt-flecktarn-surplus/838
before these I wore black button up shirts with jeans in pic, I eventually wore through all of the black shirts I had in a year and the camo ones where cheap, fit well, and 5 years later still going strong. I just got used to them.
(Afaik we don't have /k/ meets here, to cucked for em' ;-;)

I got one of these https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/swedish-m59-field-skirt-green-surplus/61230
Thinking about using it as a pattern to make one in black that fits me, ending around where the boots do.

Its cheap, hard wearing, and comfortable. I do like military stuff in general, but I wouldn't say I wear it for that reason alone.
The hat is the only real exception, but even then I also like the way it looks so its kinda a moot point
Generally, as long as you buy surplus stuff that's well made (which means usually from a first world country, USA, Germany, ect, but even soviet stuff can be surprisingly good quality) then it's going to cost you less than a civilian equivalent which may not live up to expectations.
If it can live through war, then it sure as hell can live through everyday life kinda mindset. The only real downside to military gear is that its not always the most fashionable (but if you like camo it's perfect!), and that its effectively second hand, but a lot of the time you can get stuff in like-new or even unissued condition. Pretty much every surplus piece of clothing I've bought over the last 6 years has always been in great condition, not a single loose button even.
Just to shill Varu a bit more, here's an article they put up about surplus awhile ago, if your interested it's worth a read :)

If you need a counter-symbol to justify wearing the Iron Cross you shouldn't be wearing it in the first place. Emblems often reflect a belief or an identity of some kind; if they don't represent yours then it's not a good idea to don them. Personally, I would be more concerned with being accused of stolen valor.
I agree with Spain anon, military clothes look best on a civilian as a pair of boots or a jacket. If your main concern is cost/durability, then there's plenty of civy clothes that do the job. If you're a student then you probably don't need much more robustness than what a Gildan tee offers anyway.

H&M is really cheap in EU aswell and the quality is decent for the price, you just have to deal with the ethical concerns of wearing clothes made by indian child-slaves that will probably end up with cancer due to working in a sweatshop

The more pressing ethical concern is giving money to sw*de-oids.
