They were popular a few years ago, though they're hard to pull off and the cheap ones make you look as if you just shat yourself.

Don't see why you couldn't

They look extremely douchy imo.
>don’t see why not
Because if the crotch of the pants is at your knees there needs to be extra material to allow your legs to be spread out, I’ve never worn them but the maximum distance between your legs obviously gets longer the further from your hips. If the crotch is at your dick then the pants need very little extra material because that point of your legs is never more then a few centimetre apart. While the distance between your knees while running can be like a metre, meaning those pants need to have an extra metre of material if the crotch is that low.

Yeah, guess they look obnoxious, but i do think they can look good.
And they do have a lot of extra fabric, if anything you can move more freely with them than with normal pants

Can you give examples? Plenty of outdoors wear can look pretty good. Varusteleka have some smart looking stuff that could easily pull double duty, seeing as the climate in Finland kinda forces them to dress practically afaik. At Least with their own brand Särmä stuff.
Don't see why you wouldn't just wear something like the girl is wearing there >>9428, or just a skirt if you wanted something like that. I might just be looking at it to practically tho. Not sure if the thin/stretchy material is actually better for the kind of hot weather you have in spain tho?

I mean those synthetic waterproof coats and pants you can buy in outdoors activities stores, meant for hiking and of course hiking boots, there are a lot of places to hike where i live it is also pretty humid for Spanish standards but still it looks odd and it's mostly worn by hard leftists i guess that plays a role

Allright those timberlands didn't end up fitting to well (the next size up practically fell off my foot, and the half size i was wearing cut my circulation off when sitting down) so i'm looking for chelsea boots again.
Everywhere else in Cardiff I've looked either sell fancy dress shoes that will fall apart in real use or don't make then out of quality materials ;-;
Looking for a pair made from black full grain leather, with a thick goodyear welted sole. I guess I've got a wise foot so something that's available with wider sizes would be great. Single layered construction with no lining or membrane is preferable.
Want them to be able to stand up to outdoor use, which limits options a lot.

Their prices are extortionate and none of their stuff seems to be goodyear welted (which would somewhat justify the price) or full grain leather. Only suede by the looks of it.

Alright so I ended up getting these since I couldn't find chelsea boots of good enouth fit/quality. Ended up ordering a size 41 and 42, both fit, but ended up going with the 42 with thickish insoles.
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/sarma-ankle-boots/57143
I could of got these, but as the ankle boots are made to be worn with gators it seamed like the best choice. Also fuck having to relace them every time I put them back on
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/sarma-jump-boots/57144
The gaiters themselves took a few returns to get the right size but on the 3rd try I managed to get a pair that fit. They don't look as good with the laced boots as they would with laceless ones but it works. Going to have to wear them in more before i can wear them with thicker trousers, but summer is coming up anyway so there's plenty of time for that.
Also got a shorter pair of Swiss military gaiters, figure I could use them as my hiking gear, as I can't have my knee bent to much in the taller pair without them digging into the back of my knee.
>>10297
If you are unsure about them in general, then you might try getting a pair of army surplus boots to see how they feel. Otherwise the ones I talked about above seem to be pretty good so far. They aren't goodyear welted and they're top grain leather as opposed to full grain bu those seem to be the only downsides so far.
Check out their full selection to. The swedish or norwegian boots might be more your speed, at least if you live somewhere colder.
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/group/boots/167
These guys might be worth a look to and seam to do US sizes.
https://www.epicmilitaria.com/boots
There also seem to be a bunch of high end boot sellers there in the Us, but I've never looked into them because of shipping and import costs.

Thanks for the info; appearance-wise the ankle boots are probably what I'm looking for. I might also look for local surplus stores.
>There also seem to be a bunch of high end boot sellers there in the Us
I've seen a few of the well known brands and they're definitely nice, but $250+ is too much for now. I actually like the look of Solovair and the English-made Docs, but I doubt they're practical for labor or hikes. Sizing also seems like a pain in the ass since everyone seems to say something different about how they fit.

You might try some classic timberlands perhaps? They normally have physical stores so you could actually try them on in the store.
Might consider getting one pair for work and another for hiking tbh. Not sure what you do for work but if it's something that will fuck the boots up then buying a cheap work brand might be the way to go, just make sure they fit well in any case.
This is the cheap kinda stuff i'm talking about

I wear more or less the same thing every day, the shirt and hat are newish and new, used to wear these as my go to shirt
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/bw-field-shirt-flecktarn-surplus/838
before these I wore black button up shirts with jeans in pic, I eventually wore through all of the black shirts I had in a year and the camo ones where cheap, fit well, and 5 years later still going strong. I just got used to them.
(Afaik we don't have /k/ meets here, to cucked for em' ;-;)
But those austrian shirts are thinner, so better for summer, and don't pop as much as camo print does. Gonna try to get more of their stuff.
Mainly these:
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/austrian-service-shirt-olive-drab-surplus/9454 (Shirt in the pic)
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/austrian-m75-service-shirt-olive-drab-surplus/15290 (these are thicker, better for the colder months, just waiting for bigger sizes in stock)
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/austrian-anzug-03-summer-field-blouse-surplus/9453
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/austrian-anzug-03-combat-trousers-summer-model-surplus/20661 Figure these would be better for days I want somthing more practacle than those skinny jeans.
Varusteleka good enouth that I trust my life to them. I ordered one of these
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/sarma-tst-l2-turtleneck-shirt-merino-wool/52079
Its very comfy and despite being wool still feels fine in the hot weather. So now i'm thinking about getting one in black, along with these
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/sarma-tst-l2-long-johns-merino-wool/57649 (In black with skirt on top for decencys sake)
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/sarma-henley-shirt-merino-wool/33118 (both colours, black bottoms with grey one, and white jeans with the white)
I got one of these https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/swedish-m59-field-skirt-green-surplus/61230
Thinking about using it as a pattern to make one in black that fits me, ending around where the boots do.
>>10458
The coat is one of these, but badly dyed and with buttons and velcro sewn on. I like way having just the middle button done up looks is all.
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/bw-parka-flecktarn-surplus/1155
They do M65's to tho, but I liked the BW one more (https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/brandit-m65-field-jacket-with-liner/56982)
And an M43 is a little to fashy for me, so i went with the Finnish version instead. Negates the need to have that Finnish flag pin on the hat to, replacing it with weebshit soon.
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/sarma-finnish-m36-field-cap/19512
I only really get looks from the hat, and even then that doesn't happen to much.

Its cheap, hard wearing, and comfortable. I do like military stuff in general, but I wouldn't say I wear it for that reason alone.
The hat is the only real exception, but even then I also like the way it looks so its kinda a moot point
Generally, as long as you buy surplus stuff that's well made (which means usually from a first world country, USA, Germany, ect, but even soviet stuff can be surprisingly good quality) then it's going to cost you less than a civilian equivalent which may not live up to expectations.
If it can live through war, then it sure as hell can live through everyday life kinda mindset. The only real downside to military gear is that its not always the most fashionable (but if you like camo it's perfect!), and that its effectively second hand, but a lot of the time you can get stuff in like-new or even unissued condition. Pretty much every surplus piece of clothing I've bought over the last 6 years has always been in great condition, not a single loose button even.
Just to shill Varu a bit more, here's an article they put up about surplus awhile ago, if your interested it's worth a read :)

If you need a counter-symbol to justify wearing the Iron Cross you shouldn't be wearing it in the first place. Emblems often reflect a belief or an identity of some kind; if they don't represent yours then it's not a good idea to don them. Personally, I would be more concerned with being accused of stolen valor.
I agree with Spain anon, military clothes look best on a civilian as a pair of boots or a jacket. If your main concern is cost/durability, then there's plenty of civy clothes that do the job. If you're a student then you probably don't need much more robustness than what a Gildan tee offers anyway.
